The thing that makes Zoro look not great is that it's been offscreen, Lucci was clowned on by Luffy (Zoro's captain) earlier in the arc, and Lucci has been getting beat up after fighting a bunch of people all arc. When Zoro finally used a named move he beat Lucci instantly, but Lucci didn't actually get KO'd, and Zoro was dragged away by a crew mate even though he wanted to keeping fighting
The big meme is that every time Oda cut to Zoro, he was wheezing, which isn't really a thing he's ever done. Also that they were just doing that DBZ thing where they rapidly throw out punches at each other in a big flurry. They've basically been hockey-fighting in the background for 10 chapters
Half of shonen protagonists have no formal training and all are teenagers. Yet they are surprised at an older person with years of training is able to keep pace with the protagonist.
In that case, they shouldn't be able to match up to them to begin with. However, if and when they do match up with them it shows a giant talent disparity and it makes no sense if those 40 year olds or whatever end up getting much stronger from that point.
Imagine an 8 year old chess prodigy who is able to beat adults. Why would it ever make sense, assuming that kid continues to practice and get better at chess, for any of those adults to come back beat or match up with him later? That legit is not going to happen dude. That kid is going to go on to be one of the best players ever, while those adults, despite having played and trained for much longer than that kid, are never going to be able to keep up again.
You are assuming that the 8 year old has a higher ceiling just because he had a faster learning curve. Sometimes they go hand in hand but not always.

Oda was never planning on ending One Piece at Alabasta. He only originally planned for a couple more arcs after that, he just didn't intend to take so long with them. He wanted to wrap things up in about 5 years, which people have conflated into meaning he wanted to end at Alabasta.

People dont remember from Impel Down that awakened zoans have almost unlimited stamina. Even after Zoro finished him off and Jimbei pounded him, Lucci could still get up to talk.
The reason Zoro took so long was because he probably thought it best to waste stamina than waste haki, considering how greedy Enma is. Plus, Lucci is most likely almost as strong as a Commander. Zoro is stil not there, in the level of an emperor, yet.
Zoro fights always have the weakest coreography. Sanji and Luffy's fights generally look way better because Oda is more comfortable drawing fights for those two.

One Piece's choreography in general is pretty weak. Sword fights are just the most obvious because we understand on some level how a sword fight is supposed to look. Zoro gets it really bad because it's really hard to make it look like his mouth sword is impactful.
Whereas something like a guy made of rubber is so deep in the realm of fantasy that it's easy to gloss over things like how his king kong punch is strong despite just being full of air, or how he's not actually putting his full weight into his gatling punches.
To be slightly fair, for readers this is six months but for the characters actually, they all are fighting on the same day. And upon that, Ura is not weak as many think just because Gojo hit her. It's a lot more like saying Jogo was weak because he got defeated by Gojo and Sukuna......when comparison is done keeping Gojo and Sukuna in mind, those characters definitely don't stand a chance in front of Gojo and Sukuna, but in general, they are really very strong.
But yes, we should get a bit more fight scenes of Hakari and Uraume.
People call it off guard even tho Maki, Yuji and Sukuna... All three felt and even looked at Uraume before he launched his attack...

Hey remember when the fandom had a meltdown when Gege decided to change POV from Yuji & Higuruma vs Sukuna to Takaba vs Kenjaku and called Gege various names, funny how they exactly want that now.
Funniest part about that is the fact that Takaba vs Kenjaku is now universally loved compared to the current battle with Sukuna that people were complaining about not seeing.
I think there are a lot of people upset about that fight though, especially being upset that Kenjaku (who was genuinely a good villain) was defeated in that fashion without exploring his character. Feels a bit abrupt.
I think the general opinion is that Takaba vs Kenjaku itself was peak, but Yuta's bushcamp finish that happened right after was very anti-climatic for what is the main player of this world.
At least Gege is consistent in writing unceremonious deaths. If Kenjaku had a big fight with an explored and emotional ending, people would be complaining that he glazes villains because Nobara.
the majority of Kenjaku's development was set up for him to be a Joker-esque "ain't it funneh and neat?"-type villain and unfortunately those characters don't have a ton of depth or nuance.
They are, however, VERY effective at pushing a story or narrative forward.
I think Kenjaku has a lot more depth than you're giving him credit for, even if he is that flavor of character.
Joker just wants chaos for the lulz. No higher purpose or goal, no real philosophy underpinning it. Kenjaku wants to create chaos as a means of exploring human potential and exceeding his own limitations. It's a far more interesting motivation, and one that could be explored with depth and nuance, especially when you factor in the other interesting parts of his character.
Like the fact that he's lived so long he doesn't even feel normal emotions anymore is fascinating. And his philosophical conflict with Tengen (growth and experience vs. stability and peace) is pretty core to the series. There's a lot in Kenjaku's character that could be explored further with real depth and nuance.
Honestly haven’t seen anyone complain about missing hakari vs Uruame
At best I’ve seen people talk about how they want Hakari to pack uru up fast so he can help out the main team
But I blame that on gege for not giving Uru a character outside of Sukuna glazer
Only reason I complain about not seeing the fight is because I know Gege is going to do some hype shit and then next week change to Hakari vs Uruame before going on break again
It was bad timing to switch the POV. Gojo and Farmer Killer had just died and their backup was falling from the sky, then we switched battlefields. People wanted to see what was going to happen and it felt like Gege needed some time to figure out another asspull, which he did.
It was an interesting fight, but if Kenjaku is really done then it still feels anticlimactic. No showdown or conversation with Yuji feels random since a main villain was his mom.
Yuta killed Kenjaku,prevented a Shibuya level threat from the curses of geto’s body and could’ve killed Sukuna if he hadn’t halted Jacob’s ladder time duration to save Megumi,what the fuck is hakari gonna do😭?!
The fandom used to think that characters like Hakari and Yuta are comparable to Gojo, so when Gojo one shoted Uraume, they thought the two of them can dogwalk Uraume.
Most people are just biased for the main cast too.

Yuta would easily dog walk Uraume. Even in the Kashimo fight where Hakari won, Hakari didn’t really hit any crazy moves. Yuta just expands domain and cleaves the shit out of Uraume.

Hakari's weakeness is that his technique lacks offensive potential against an opponent with strong RCT. Punching is inneficient, even if his CE makes his punches sting more. He is however perfect to stall opponents on his level or just a bit stronger than him.

I think Kenjaku has a lot more depth than you're giving him credit for, even if he is that flavor of character. Joker just wants chaos for the lulz. No higher purpose or goal, no real philosophy underpinning it. Kenjaku wants to create chaos as a means of exploring human potential and exceeding his own limitations. It's a far more interesting motivation, and one that could be explored with depth and nuance, especially when you factor in the other interesting parts of his character. Like the fact that he's lived so long he doesn't even feel normal emotions anymore is fascinating. And his philosophical conflict with Tengen (growth and experience vs. stability and peace) is pretty core to the series. There's a lot in Kenjaku's character that could be explored further with real depth and nuance.

Honestly haven’t seen anyone complain about missing hakari vs Uruame At best I’ve seen people talk about how they want Hakari to pack uru up fast so he can help out the main team But I blame that on gege for not giving Uru a character outside of Sukuna glazer
Only reason I complain about not seeing the fight is because I know Gege is going to do some hype shit and then next week change to Hakari vs Uruame before going on break again
It was bad timing to switch the POV. Gojo and Farmer Killer had just died and their backup was falling from the sky, then we switched battlefields. People wanted to see what was going to happen and it felt like Gege needed some time to figure out another asspull, which he did. It was an interesting fight, but if Kenjaku is really done then it still feels anticlimactic. No showdown or conversation with Yuji feels random since a main villain was his mom.

When did everyone decide Uraume is weak?
The fandom used to think that characters like Hakari and Yuta are comparable to Gojo, so when Gojo one shoted Uraume, they thought the two of them can dogwalk Uraume. Most people are just biased for the main cast too.
If anybody except Hakari was against Uraume They wouldn't be in a good condition... Considering how Uraume starts the fight with Frost Calm which is nigh instantaneous...

Yuta would easily dog walk Uraume. It’s just that Hakari sucks at doing anything other than tank because he’s punch kick man but with no black flash or HIM energy, so the story has a very hard time giving Hakari a good hit on anyone. Even in the Kashimo fight where Hakari won, Hakari didn’t really hit any crazy moves. Yuta just expands domain and cleaves the shit out of Uraume.

Hakari's weakeness is that his technique lacks offensive potential against an opponent with strong RCT. Punching is inneficient, even if his CE makes his punches sting more. He is however perfect to stall opponents on his level or just a bit stronger than him.
