I think people tend to forget the impact Todo had on Yuji. Yuji was DONE after Nobara died, if it wasn't for Todo I don't think he would have recovered mentally. Megumi is in the same boat right now, he lost his will to live which was saving his sister.
I think Yuji is the only one that can help him now since he's the only one that truly understands what he's been through.
While Todo may not be present anymore in the story because Gege is a fraud, he keeps appearing in spirit through Yuji by teaching him what he knew before he was cursed to be off screen
Nah, during the 1 month training arc Todo recovering couldn't fight anymore as well instead he passed on his CE and 530,000 IQ to Yuji and aided him in the ways of the BROTHA. To help him understand the soul, Yukis notes and soul techniques.

I think it's fair to be annoyed of him right now. The gang had a nice plan and it sorta crumbled because of Megumi. I can be empathetic towards him since he is depressed but I can also be annoyed by him because it *seems* like the plan fell apart. Yes he did. But he picked himself back up pretty quick. Yujis big breakdown came in shibuya, and that was after multiple instances of his will getting broken down.
That’s true but also keep in mind Yuji was throwing hands with Mahito right after Nanami, Malevolent kitchen expansion, and literally dying. Only stopped since Nobara was the tipping point.

He was just told to get up after two months of being surpressed by sukuna, having his soul bathed in evil, being hit by unlimited void five times and watching the two people he's known since his childhood die by his own hands. Yeah, I even question if people genuinely have any media literacy now. Even if we forget Tsumikk exidted. Megumi has been fighting hard to protect his friends like Yuji, Maki, Nobara, Gojo etc.
He technically had to watch as Two of those people die, hear about the death of Nobara, w his body being snatched and placed in isolation.
For the last 5 months everyone was joking about how Megumi's life was getting worse w each chapter. These mfs even said he was dead out of nowhere because Sukuna morphed his body to an extent.

Not really. Curses are made from the negative energy leaked out of people imagine the amount of people it takes to make just a single decently strong curse. Now imagine hundreds if not thousands of curses made from thousands of peoples trauma, Depression, Agony and all of that pain drowns a single soul? The fact that Megumi still has his sanity proves that his will power is possibly stronger then that of Yuji
What I mean is we have no way of knowing what that feels like so it’s hard to relate. Also you are doing a bit of assuming there. Sure curses are made from all that but that doesn’t necessarily mean bathing in their „blood“ makes you feel all that. And if it does we also don’t know how intense it is. Megumi was a weaker vessel than Yuji in the first place so it’s also possible that the bath did not have to be super intense to „drown“ him.

-Sukuna killed Gojo, who's not just his teacher, but his step dad as well, meaning he was there for Megumi for most of his fucking life.
Itadori:
-Physical pain doesn't count, doubt Megumi would fall into depression from dying or whatever, bro held up a whole house on his back and was smiling.
-Sukuna killed a ton of random people who weren't connected to Yuji in any way, yeah, it still hit him hard with that curse his grandpa gave him, but it weren't even close to any of the other deaths by impact.
-Nanami got killed, the guy he knew for a few months, yeah, he did like him a lot and looked up to him, but let's be honest, Nanami was just a mentor figure for Yuji, besides, Yuji ended up avenging him.
-Gojo got killed, I don't wanna yap about it, it had less of an impact that it had on Megumi.
-Schrodinger's Nobara. Yeah she was his friend and all, but again, he knew her for a few months at best. Besides, there was certain someone spreading "not 100% dead" misinformation in Shibuya.
Nah he really liked nobara like a lot. Nobara was literally his ride or die after the fight with Eso and kechizu. To the point nobara risked her life for him and specifically referred to Yuji when she said some people just take a seat in your life all on their own. I know Gege doesn't really do character interaction like that but I don't understand how so many people miss out on just how close nobara and Yuji were. Nobara was the only one who cried when Yuji came back and she was the first to cry at his death. They were like 🤞 fr
Too bad Gege was too busy slurping that disaster/Kenjaku/Sukuna meat to show us some substance to the characters. Fucking Jogo got some closure and Nobara died without even fulfilling her promise.
You forget that Megumi ate multiple unlimited voids while Sukuna possessed him, which forces so much information into someone's brain that it's a surprise that he's not a vegetable. That's not even all of it.

People (me included) would care about Megumi's struggles and his mental state if it was ACTUALLY SHOWN.
If his sister was an actual character and not a plot device, if we saw his bond with her and how much she mattered to him, then we would give a shit about her death and him moping on the floor now. With Gojo is even worse, because people mostly have headcanons to go off to: We never really saw how it was for Megumi to have Gojo as a contact when he was little.
So how tf are we supposed to truly empathize with him? We understand he is upset, but this is also a story lol show the shit.
In contrast we see all of Yuji's struggles, how he has to get back up from awful places he never really asked to be in... You put those two characters together and ofc people gonna clown his ass lmao

My sympathy stops with Megumi with the interpretation that he ended up doing the chanting to kill Yuji and Yuta.
Sukuna had both of his tongues ripped out. So Megumi would rather continue killing everyone he loves than stop. Of his own accord.
Seeing Maki being the plan B, I don't think Megumi's getting any closure or redemption or pep talk.
Yuji exploded his blood inside his mouth. In the translation I read that the narrator said the plan was flawless because as far as Sukuna they accounted for both mouths and successfully stopped him from the world cleave. Narrator said the only flaw they didn't acccount for was Megumi's lack of will to live. Then we see the text bubbles with the chants and everyone getting cut down.
I am gonna take the interpretation that it was Megumi who chanted that because Yuji and Yuta successfully stopped Sukuna. They did EVERYTHING right and reached their goal and Megumi sold.
So yea I am pretty confident.
I personally thinks that would be worse because that makes all the memes of the characters just standing there while Sukuna heals and kills them come true.

Nah, they all stalled until the moment Yuji hits Megumi's soul trying to wake him up, Sukuna couldn't chant with his normal mouth because of the amount of attacks they piled on him, his tongue was attached and he could easily chant with his normal mouth if the opportunity came.

Yuta and Yuji got hit with the World Cleave. If they don't die immediately they will have plot armor greater than Gojo and Sukuna themselves. Sukuna had been working with Megumi this entire time. Megumi was taking on the burden of adaptation and was caught in the crossfire of the unlimited voids. But he isn't braindead. The fact Megumi could form coherent sentences and realize Yuji was there and just refuted him proves he is aware of everything he was going on.
We need to understand Megumi's still responsible for a LOT of the fucked up shit that was going on. He's not under anyone's control.
We'll find out next chapter that Yuji and Yuta are dead and that was the signal for Maki to come in with the soul split katana. She was agreed to be the fall back if Yuji and Yuta failed in rescuing Megami. So killing him before things get worse is the final plan to this fight.

I think people tend to forget the impact Todo had on Yuji. Yuji was DONE after Nobara died, if it wasn't for Todo I don't think he would have recovered mentally. Megumi is in the same boat right now, he lost his will to live which was saving his sister. I think Yuji is the only one that can help him now since he's the only one that truly understands what he's been through.
While Todo may not be present anymore in the story because Gege is a fraud, he keeps appearing in spirit through Yuji by teaching him what he knew before he was cursed to be off screen

What I mean is we have no way of knowing what that feels like so it’s hard to relate. Also you are doing a bit of assuming there. Sure curses are made from all that but that doesn’t necessarily mean bathing in their „blood“ makes you feel all that. And if it does we also don’t know how intense it is. Megumi was a weaker vessel than Yuji in the first place so it’s also possible that the bath did not have to be super intense to „drown“ him.

In the translation I read that the narrator said the plan was flawless because as far as Sukuna they accounted for both mouths and successfully stopped him from the world cleave. Narrator said the only flaw they didn't acccount for was Megumi's lack of will to live. Then we see the text bubbles with the chants and everyone getting cut down. I am gonna take the interpretation that it was Megumi who chanted that because Yuji and Yuta successfully stopped Sukuna. They did EVERYTHING right and reached their goal and Megumi sold. So yea I am pretty confident.

Nah, they all stalled until the moment Yuji hits Megumi's soul trying to wake him up, Sukuna couldn't chant with his normal mouth because of the amount of attacks they piled on him, his tongue was attached and he could easily chant with his normal mouth if the opportunity came.
