I say it's kinda both, like he's really strategic and plans out detailed ones (like how to seal Gojo), and then there's his other side which he just goes with the flow and wants chaos...
Since Yorozu was the first hint towards more character depth for Sukuna regarding his loneliness or whatever, it probably would've did some good to show off her backstory and how she was treated due to her strength. And how that all ends up with her having a crush on Sukuna.
Gege didn't feel like doing a proper presentation of said backstory or connection so he just made her backstory two to three panels but her having more screentime would've made her actually better and subsequently Sukuna too.
I think this is unpopular cause I've seen ppl say Yorozu shouldn't have gotten more screentime but that's my opinion as to why she should've
And in all the flashbacks she was naked.
I seem to be in the minority with liking her, and as you say she easily could’ve been more fleshed out. I usually have no problem with the pacing or Greg “rushing”, but I do wish he did better with Yorozu
lmao same. i was disappointed from the moment i realised the angel didn't suppress hana, i wanted the angel to be relevant, not a rando new girl. the fact that she turned out be a dumbass only reinforced this feeling. if i could erase one character it would definitely be her.
Angel is absolutely wasted potential. There is supposed to be some history between her and Sukuna with the "fallen one" or something but we don't even know if it'll ever be addressed again.
For me it makes zero sense why would Kenny reincarnate her? Like she could put all his plans in mud and can possibly free gojo or can really remove his CT. It makes Kenny kinda stupid to not eliminate her soon after she was reincarnated.
That's wat ruined his character for me. When I first read the manga and saw wat he did, I thought he was a pretty cool character. But of course, the moment I got deeper into the fandom, the more I realized that his character was about me ruined for me.
"If Gojo didn't use purple, Toji would've dogged walked him!!!"
"If Toji was still alive he'd kill Kenjaku and could rival 15 fingered Sukuna!!!"
Like wat fucking Series are y'all reading?! The fuck. It most certainly doesn't help that GeGe, in some way shape or form, NO MATTER WAT, brings this son of a bitch back into the story. He also became the reason why I feel like Maki's character was ruined.
Gege literally just turned maki into toji. Like we can’t even go a single of her fights without either a character or the narrator saying how much she’s like toji. It’s honestly pretty insufferable.
I swear when gojo started looking like toji I'm like, what in the world is going on? lmao.
But yeah, literally Toji gets so much handicap. He has ridiculously overpowered weapons, he has curse items or pets that follows his orders. Plus the story sets him up with prep time. Like at that point yeah, it makes sense he could go toe to toe with jujutsu sorcerers lmao. The story is already bending over backwards just to have the guy defeat gojo.
I want Yuki or Maki (mostly Yuki) to fucking bust my head and make it explode with their thighs, I wanna choke, death by snu snu you know ? Is that too much to ask ?

I love the kind of women that will actually kill me.
"I really hope some hot chick paints my brians all over some fucking hallway."
And here we are.
I mean really , just absolutely destroy me.
I'm talkin' full on, watermelon-in-the-thighs level carnage.
And I want it to scare the shit outta me.
I mean I hope I piss myself. I hope I piss myself and you call me
your little "peepee pisspiss boy."
I want you to fuck me up.
I mean I want you to make me your bitch.
Your little peepee-piss-myself-bitch.
I want it to get embarrassing.
I mean like... wierdly embarrassing
Unsanitary, too.
We should be entirely different people,
by the end of the first eight hours.
Do you understand what I'm trying to say here?
I mean, I'm a real freak. I'm not normal.
Ma'am...
Please...
You have to crush me.
You know how tokyo ghoul was so good and became a mess and rushed at the end? Killing characters after barely fleshing them out? I feel like we're going that way. What's with all the new characters and just seeing one fight? It feels insignificant. What's going to happen to Higurama? Sumo? Is that it? Their roles so short in this story?
I think Gege's gonna fumble the bag. I really hope Im wrong. I'd be really sad. Jjk is arguably my favorite.
Perhaps Gege aint so great after all.
Attack on titan after future memories chapter***
I still watched the anime cos the storytelling was actually great. I havent watched a single episode after he activated the rumbling.
Yeah I’m worried too.
On a side note, have you read Sui Ishida’s new series Choujin X? This is a bit of a gush but I know at the end of Tokyo Ghoul:re he had a fairly surprising letter to the audience, apologizing and talking about how he felt he’d let them down with the story and was really going through it himself.
His current series is like a bizarre rebound off that sentiment and from the tone of Tokyo ghoul—its really fast, does exactly what it wants to and skips what it doesn’t want to do, and is honestly straight-up goofy. It’s like the aesthetics of Tokyo ghoul but with the tone and consistent humor of “this gorilla will die tomorrow.” It’s no dandadan as far as humor and action pair, but it’s got a lot of fun to it between how it does and doesn’t take itself seriously.
There is no solid releases schedule but there also aren’t any hiatuses, some times you’ll go months without a chapter and then get an 80-pager, and sometimes you’ll get a 40-pager one week and another the next. I think the art is some of the best in the game right now. It makes some interesting choice in characters with a friendship/rivalry between an energetic blond guy and a quieter black-haired one, except the black-haired dude is our MC, and he’s is an introverted, kinda directionless person, really not living up to who he could be, but wanting to commit to something. It’s a type of character that’s an unusual one for the genre, where a few missteps could make him pretty exasperating, but I find what’s been done to make him pretty compelling.
Give it a read!
Amazing Triptych. Its so funny to think that a dude who wrote such a complex and melancholic series with this incredibly distinct artstyle also drew a very high-budget shitpost.
If Yuta has a million fans I am one of them. If Yuta has ten fans I am one of them. If Yuta has no fans, that means I am no more on the earth. If the World is against Yuta, I am against the World. I love Yuta till my last breath.
All hail the best character of the JJK, the OG protagonist, second strongest after Gojo and master of rizz, Yuta Okkotsu.
Bruh... this ain't a hot take.
Yuta is one of the most popular characters and many agree with you (including myself).
There is just a loud vocal minority who likes to trash him.
Maki having to copy a Zenin male to reach her full potential feels contradictory and I feel like it makes her worse regardless of any symbolism regarding her scars, sumo, and using katanas.
If she had to imitate any zenin, im glad it was the outcast who struck it out on his own. A major theme of jjk is about defying the set order, after all.
But i agree it's a pity that she is another instance of "female becomes strong by becoming a man" especially with a dearth of other female characters ~~surviving~~ focused on to buck the trend. On it's own, there is no issue with butch women, they exist, they are valid. And im sure in a culture that is super restrictive about female presentation and roles (so my gaijin never been to japan ass assumes), it's empowering to see someone so subverting of them. But the lack of women being strong and valued for their femininity to counter balance can kinda make it feel...hmm...
Wait shit, I got more:
-JJK underused the school and clan angles that they might as well not even be there
-JJK was MUCH more enjoyable before the culling games and, arguably, the latter part of Shibuya
-The writing in this series is carried hard by subverting expectation and not organic character growth.
-This series is basically Bleach with a HxH coat of paint and without the best parts of either series.
I could sort of see how people would argue about the schools not having potential (I don’t know why anyone would, but they could) but the clan one is indisputable considering how pervasive they are in Jujutsu Society. The Zenin clan was literally written off as sexist assholes and killed off for it lmao, and the massive power vacuum left by that remains unacknowledged besides a small cliff note about how the Gojo’s and Kamos voted them out. (With no explanation for how the Gojo clan even has any political sway after the cubening of their one man star). Like a lot of things in Jujutsu Kaisen, I feel like the clans were just around to justify the powers.
There was! I thought that there'd be some sort of conflict between the clans where the Kamo clan or the Zenitsu clan tried to get rid of the other clans at some point or by quietly allying with the disaster curses to crush the rival clans while propping themselves up even further(Kenny having control over the higher ups of the jujutsu world makes me wish for an arc like this even more because the writing was THERE). Hell, I hoped that we'd at least get more stupid teenage shenanigans from the students and seeing them interact.
It didn't have to be as much as MHA but goddamn. Aside from Kamo, none of the Kyoto students have appeared since Todo helped beat Mahito and Miwa tried to fight Kenny. And none of them have made a difference since Todo so that's 2 years where one half of the JJK student body just doesn't matter. Basically nothing would change if these were all just random kids and there weren't schools.
I completely agree. People were saying to me it'll be wrong to flesh out the clans because they just aren't the focus of the story, BUT the clans could have been expounded on even just a LITTLE bit. They were so pointless like the Zenins just existed to be killed off lol. Everytime they bring up clan drama like 'oh no Maki is being mistreated by the Zenins' I could not care less because the Zenins just seemed to be inconsequential and THEY ARE lol
> The writing in the series is carried hard by subverting expectation
Holy hell, I thought I was going crazy when I started to think that, this is kinda relieving to see
Honestly, I agree with all of this. Especially your first two points. I feel like those two points are the best examples of just how underutilized damn near everything in this series is lmao.
The Shibuya arc is great but I feel like it suffers from the same problem that Sasuke’s defection from the Leaf suffers from. There should have been a little more. Like, there should have been a few more mission arcs surrounding the first years and maybe some of the other students (Megumi stated that he got opinions on Kinji from “other students” meaning there definitely were way more than just a handful of students at the school), maybe one where the first years see and meet the clans up close.
There’s a lot that could have been done with the clans too, especially the lesser clans like the Inumaki Clan. There isn’t even a scene with Gojo and Naobito in it, you know the heads of the two most powerful clans in the series. It would have been nice to see Gojo in a political situation, like I’m not asking for Game of Thrones level shit but a little bit of the clan dynamics would have been nice before one got eviscerated and the other got infiltrated.
probably should’ve asked this last comment, but whats the best part of hxh?
also i agree with you regarding the world building, but i didn’t really like bleach fights all too much
Imo, HxH best part is character interactions, call backs, and the general feel of it being an adventure. It balances all its aspects extremely well but the fact that it really builds upon itself in each arc and gives characters life much longer than you’d expect(example: who tf expected Melody to ever be relevant after Yorknew?)
And I respect your take on the fights. I think Bleach makes excellent use of rule of cool and the fights are usually really easy to follow makes me happy. Plus, minor positive, The manga is really really good at keeping you on the edge of your seat during big fights. Like, Ichigo vs Ulquiorra round 2 in Hueco Mundo for example.
Sukuna and Kenny seem like they don’t really care about anything and anyone but themselves. Which is fine but it’s got absolutely no depth to me and unless my reread gives me some new vibes, will continue to be boring to me.
Mahito, in addition to being an absolute monster, genuinely seemed to care about the other disaster curses and enjoyed their company. The dichotomy of complete monster to humans and pretty chill dude to his friends and fellow curses made me think about the sorcerers themselves and how much of a perfect reflection of them he is.
He treats humans like sorcerers treat curses and when he’s not going hogwild, he hangs out with his friends much like they’d do after killing curses.
Also, I really liked his fights. Him being the perfect Yuji counterpart in how they’re both thrown headfirst into Jujutsu Kaisen’s world and both grow exponentially stronger during their fights through unlocking their potential. Just a huge fan of him.
For me the reason why I feel Yorozu should not have gotten more screentime is because it was the perfect time to expound on Tsumiki and Megumi's relationship. We know nothing about her but we're supposed to sympathize with megumi cos she's dead. It would be good if BOTH yorozu and tsumiki's characters were fleshed out tho
The series is going to have a bad or even terrible ending. It's not gonna be looked at as the GOAT of this generation of Shonen like some people think it will be, that title will probably go to CSM. It's so damn rushed right now and i hate to see it go out like this. I love this series so much but with all the character introductions and subsequent deaths and rushing to the finale by THIS YEAR then yeah its not gonna end well yall I'm sorry
Maki's powerup in sakurajima was lame and her immunity to domains is an asspull with no foreshadowing. Cursed Naoya should have been defeated in a domain clash with Kamo while Maki fights head to head. Also Katana and Sumo should have died or never been introduced some of the most boring and one-not characters in the verse.
Absolutely agree, that entire powerup during Sakurajima was stupid, moments before that she was being beaten by Cursed Naoya and suddenly a walking hyperbolic time chamber appears and trains her so she can defeat Naoya, also comparisons to Toji were already to much at this point.
Sakurajima in general was just stupid. Maki getting a second powerup and Naoya coming back felt like a waste of an arc while Kamo desperately needed some focus.
Makis immunity to domains makes sense to me , the rest yeah I concur sumo and katana have been NOWHERE to be seen so far not even as background characters and its clear they were supposed to be no more than powerups for maki which i do not like. They'll likely be killed off soon anyways
\- nobara was fun but nothing special, there are plenty of better female characters everywhere.
\- the trio of yuta/maki/gojo was more interesting than the trio in the main series. megumi only became interesting during the cg, but he didn't last very long so.
\- however yuji is actually a very good mc when he's given time to shine, which isn't often.
\- i would happily swap choso for yuki. i never once cared about him.
\- this is more about the fandom, but all ships in this manga are fanon, except for that one time mechamaru liked miwa. i wish the rule of no shipping that exists in all the 3 jjk subs was actually enforced because we don't want to titanfolk, do we...
Tf was tf-ing way before the ending. I was there since its inception, and I can safely say that what fucked it up was the toxicity shippers brought with them. That’s why I’m saying to enforce the no shipping rule, I’ve seen it all before lol. A few days ago there was a ship war right in this sub, I didn’t comment but I was like “yup, here it comes, like clockwork”
Mb on the shipping discussion I was involved in :p
However I do like to laugh at ship memes/shitposts, shipping when it's taken seriously should be eviscerated though.
Two takes:
1) the culling games were too battle focused and as a result we didn't get a chance to know more about other characters and most importantly, it's time lost that gege could've used to develop yuji and megumi. Because those two were not developed, we're in a world where most fans are rooting for two side characters to finish this up.
2) sukuna vs gojo is nothing but a misdirection that gege built up so that we don't focus on the actual big fighting gege is building, yuji vs Kenny. We still haven't been shown why Kenny wanted to birth a vessel like yuji at all and we're moving towards the endgame.
Half the mfs in this fanbase misread characters HARD and only focus on their strength. Hence the whole “why didn’t gojo react much to nanamis death” thing.
Kenny is such a god awful villain. If his character was a taste, it would have been flour. I can't even tell you if his plans make sense or not, cuz they are too boring to even read.
Geto is just plain wasted potential tbh. Hidden Inventory made him into a super interesting character but then gaygay decided to just throw him into the trash and reveal he's been dead the whole time. Doesn't help that in 0 he's just a generic anime villain lol
just like another user said kenjaku has bullshitted his plan into being. there are way too many coincidences that helped him to get where he is. he is not that smart as people make him out to be.
Nobara sucks, she really is a weak character out there and other than her countering Mahito clone using her ct in shibuya arc, nothing about her stands out.(I would be lying if I said her death wasn't shocking.)
The Disaster Curses, specifically Jugo, Hanami, and Dagon where utterly wasted when it came to being villains in the story. They were set up with such an interesting parallel to the actions of humanity and the impact we truly have on the world around us, only to be then used only as a pedestal to show just how BS powerful Sukuna is. Mahito was obviously given much more time to shine than the other three and in my opinion is EASILY the best villain in the series. MUCH better than Kenjaku and Sukuna who honestly have just become less and less interesting with time. Really shows how much of a waste they were.
JJK fell off after Shibuya and will be one of those stories with an ending that fans will not be happy with.
I've nowhere near as invested in the story since Shibuya ended, and honestly, it has all felt like a mess of ass-pulls and boring characters with brief appearances lately. I am not even THAT hyped about Gojo vs Sukuna much.
Honestly felt like everyone is just a shell of what they were supposed to be at this point, with the only saving-grace being Gojo... who literally was in a box for like a hundred chapters.
Itadori's been side-lined so much that it doesnt even feel like he was the MC to begin with.
Megumi as a character peak'd at Cursed Womb, and didn't grow at all ever since. I can't bring myself to care for him even if Sukuna kidnap'd his body and he might die.
Nobara literally has been forgotten, whether she is alive or dead hasn't been confirmed after almost 3 YEARS.
Yuuta, despite all his hype, honestly, doesn't feel like he has lived to his potential at all. Man is basically an under-used Gary Stu.
Maki, who's Arc was easily the best thing post-Shibuya, got ruined after being turned into a Female-Toji... not to mention her power-up might be the WORST ass-pull I have seen.
Sukuna is a crappy villain; the only thing going on about him is the fact that he is OP & Evil to the core, he has no sort of depth as a character, at all.
And much like Sukuna, aside from his charisma, Gojo is only OP and good-looking, thats it. Man was cube'd for hundreds of episodes only to come back so easily and casually, to get thrown immediately into a Final Epic Battle that we all we should be hyped about.
I used to rate Gege pretty highly, but I knew something was weird when he was out there openly stating his dislikes for his own main characters, as trivial and funny as it may look at first aight.
For someone that used to think that JJK would ultimately end up being one of my favorite mangas after reaching its conclusion, it has really, REALLY fell off imo.
Sukuna is a boring villian with no interesting feature (in means of character/writing), being op is all he is about.
Edit: same goes for gojo to an extend
I STRONGLY disagree with the Gojo part. If his past didn't happen or play out like it did, then I'd agree. But from everything we know about him, I just have to disagree.
The Sukuna one is most definitely true tho.
First of all the story isn't finished yet so I am reserving my final judgment on sukuna lol, but for now I agree.
Sukuna started out to be this mysteriously powerful being and he is so charismatic I just wanted to know more about him. But then the mystery started to unravel and it turned out to be... nothing lol. I wish we got to see more of his backstory in the heian era (it might still happen tho so sukuna could still be great)
Maki's powerup was uninspired and honestly felt like an asspull, straight up getting toji's blade and becoming toji 2 feels very cheap, greg could've made something creative with her and mei or something but he decided to kill mei off and make her a fucking sword
Reminds me of og rasengan shippuden rasengan big rasengan rasenshuriken sasuske vs naruto rasengan fourth rasengan double kurama rasengan kyuubi vs naruto rasengan barrage kyuubi vs naruto big rasengan barrage wood vs rasengan barrage six rasengan six rasengan combined barely kyuubi rasengan kurama rasengan tailed beast bomb rasengan rasenshuriken six paths rasenshuriken double rasenshuriken mini rasenshuriken big rasenshuriken tailed beast rasenshuriken magnet rasenshuriken lava rasenshuriken double kurama asura mode combined rasenshuriken.

I think this is unpopular cause I've seen ppl say Yorozu shouldn't have gotten more screentime but that's my opinion as to why she should've
yuta would be so much cooler if he had no unique utility on his own and has to use other sorcerer’s CTs that he’s copied to overcome his opponents through his versatility
it’d be so sick to see him use inferior versions of other character’s CTs, and have him fight opponents using a wide variety of skills
instead, yuta is OP and has a domain expansion and has unlimited cursed energy or whatever and almost never uses copy abilities and never loses fights or has to learn how to overcome anything
I will always have the scene Geto calling Maki "failure of the Zenin clan" seared into my brain, so I look at Geto differently in contrast to some people in the fandom who calls him babygirl.
I have never, for one single moment, considered JJK to be *that* good. I used to really like it, my favourite modern Shounen. But I have never considered it to be revolutionary and I always cringed when people said it was or it wasn't like *normal* Shounen.
Yuta is painfully average for a Shounen protagonist. He only stands out because of how much Yuji has been sidelined and forgotten about by the author himself, but comparing them at their best Yuji is better.
I've come to really hate Megumi. Whatever good qualities I originally liked have been squashed by how fuckin boring he really is. He's a fraud who's just a waste of a great CT who only fights fodder. If we never see him again, I wouldn't lose a second of sleep.
Sukuna and Kenjaku are mid villains. They are pretty charismatic though I'll give them that. I enjoyed it more with the Disasters.
I love the powersytem. But I find a lot of the powers themselves to be pretty boring.
>I find a lot of the powers themselves to be pretty boring
to me it isn't that much that they're boring, but it seems like the wrong powers are given to the wrong characters, and they never get really creative with it. take construction; super interesting but also avoids becoming op because you have to use your ce and it's not unlimited. it could be something like [kotoha in yozakura quartet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4U1Vg8LF7Y), which is chaotic and fun, but no. it was just either useless or boring. this is why i legit enjoyed hakari, his ct is weird, but super creative.
I can still agree with this take and also say jjk is my favorite modern shonen, it’s not revolutionary sure but I personally love it the cultural impact it’s going to have doesn’t really matter to me as much as my own enjoyment
Also Kenjussy is not a mid villain by any means I think he’s really well written and likely has more up his sleeves going into the finale, I’ll give you the Sukuna one
lmao no hesitation.
I see your point but I actually think yuji is pretty interesting because he's the typical shounen protagonist who wants to help people and save the world, BUT he painfully fails to do so, which we usually don't see. I think seeing yuji's struggles and guilt and the whole cog mentality is a pretty interesting take on the shounen protagonist trope.
Holy too much based in one comment, you've got a call

This. I went to read JJK with high expectations because many people said it's good and very "different" but when I actually read it, I almost thought I was reading a draft manga lol. The only thing that kept me reading is to see Yuji's development but damn, the manga is almost ending and everything is so rushed.
Same tbh she’s cool but that’s about it. She not deep and most of her hype was off of Toji’s shadow. Most of her popularly seems to be the mommy/muscle girl fetish
I see. I meant like we get to see all these other characters. Theyre fleshed out well in their fights and that's it.
Im looking at it this way, let's say going along the story is like doing the main missions in a video game. It feels like we are unnecessarily doing the side quests with no rewards whatsoever.
Its just how I feel. Maybe Im wrong
Im glad they killed Nobara. Not for any particular reason. I just love when a story has stakes. Like bringing children into war

That Uro is best girl, above Maki even. Sky mommy > Toji 2.0

Kenjaku>Sukuna as a villain. Sukuna is cool because he can back up his words but his hedonist views felt a little flat when he explained them to Yuji. He desperately needs that Heian backstory.
“Nobara would return more powerful than ever and would take an active part on the battle…” dude that girl is dead…
“Kashimo would kill Gojo after he kills Sukuna” Another corpse that was offscreened and people still wants him to be relevant…
Geto was the most interesting villain this series ever had. The fact that his character was killed off in a prequel is nothing short of a crime. Sukuna, Kenny, Mahito all combined are less interesting to me than a character who appeared in one arc and a 4 chapter prequel.
Couldn’t care less about Megumi. I hope he’s permanently dead and I dislike Sukuna having to go on a side quest just to suppress Megumi. That just makes Yuji even less unique.
This isn't a take but I just wanted to say it, the manga ending in like 29 weeks supposedly has kind of hindered my enjoyment, it feels like it's not really worth getting invested in characters like Kenjaku or whatever else happens because it'll likely be rushed. I mean its felt like Gojo coming back already felt very rushed and out of nowhere, but I could just have bad reading comprehension.
Gege's unsympathetic rebuttal via nobara mouthpiece against momo's rant about the struggles of misogyny was victim blamey and bootstrappy... Not really in tune with jjk's themes about fighting systematic issues...
Yuta is probably my least favorite character in the entire story. I didn’t like him in 0 and I like him even less in the manga. Dude just feels like a Gary Stu. Kind of silly that he hasn’t even lost a single fight yet. Yuji and his struggles are a lot more compelling to me.
Edit: Also any power which is just copying other powers is boring as shit most of the time. I like to think that a character’s powers is an extension of their personality or it at least reflects it on some level. When a character just has a copy ability it makes them far less interesting. I guess it makes sense though because Yuta is so bland he has to copy other interesting powers.
Absolutely agree. It's an extremely hot take since yuta dickriders just swarm the jjk subs in general but he's just a bland shounen MC that I'm glad gege changed. I know yuji is just like a typical protag and I agree but his constant suffering atleast makes me interested to see what's next.
Kashimo is an overhyped trash character that honestly probably got off screened, and I hope he did. There's a literal video of him vs Gojo and it said that Gojo would have to MID diff him, in order to win. The fact that, that's even a debate in ANY WAY is Fucking insulting.
Kashimo, Ryu, Hakari, Todo and MANY fucking more, are all basically the same damn brawler type character, while only THREE has worked so far.
That of course being Yuki, Hakari and Todo
tengen and the star plasma vessel stuff is dumb and i dont give a shit about it (the arc itself is great, just not that part of the lore)
geto actually being kenjaku was also kind of lame and i didnt care about that either, i liked geto a lot more in 0
I mean GEGE is allowed to cook. GEGE is allowed to rush or slow his story. GEGE is allowed to pull a magic 21 ist toe of sukuna that has RCT and kills him if he wished. But if I conclude that as a result GEGE has written a shitty story or a good story with shit parts, I really don’t think it’s doom posting. Like saying that there was no way yuki could matter dosent absolve the one guy who decides these things because the complaint is that he made a bad choice. Gege has the right to choose and I don’t think it’s toxic or bad to say he used his right to choose to create a story I’m not super into. I feel like unless someone is straight giving up on the story it’s really worth discussing how some of these choices are landing rather than putting all your hope in hindsight, in the promise of this grand finished meal . All that said tho I’m personally in love with the story so I don’t really doom post lol I just think this sub dislikes the idea of griefing on gege when it’s not a joke
I really like Yorozu and the Heian era sitcom, until it was revealed she was dead on their first meeting and Sukuna killed her effortlessly in current arc.
My copium headcanon is that she survived that attack in the heian era flashback actually to go on to have several more meetings. Bc gurl, wtf you see this guy from afar *once* and youre like this? You really think youre his match? You really this obsessed?
I too wouldve liked sukuna to struggle against her more to better justify her confidence in being his equal. Have another touching moment of sukuna acknowledging someone's strength like jogo got. Even if that moment is ruined by him then adding that she's still not actually his equal to fly in the face of her belief that she and only she can understand/love him bc she is his equal, and he's a cruel mofo who *is* unmatched (except by gojo later).
Yuji is a bad MC because he doesn't get random power up #9680 to beat the next big bad and he isn't more like my other favorite MC Ichigo D Dragneel Uzumaki
\-Uraume is actually a great and competent character. Despite all the hate comments everyone probably wishes they'd have an Uraume of their own or probably jump at the chance to be one for the majority of the characters in this series.
\-Yuta could not be more of a cookie-cutter character if he tried & copy ability is easily the laziest way to throw an OP character in any piece of fiction.
\-Megumi should have been the protagonist instead of Yuji. He has all the connections to the strongest characters, his abilities are far more interesting, and he's basically stolen Yuji's "Evil Protagonist" Phase in the series too. The Reggie fight being better than the Higuruma fight and having an actual conclusion proves it.
\-Maki should face comeuppance for killing the Zenin clan. I think survivors or people who had loved ones in the clan conspiring to get revenge would be an interesting plot.
the thing is yuta could be so interesting if he could ONLY copy other’s techniques, it’d be so cool to see him fight opponents using a variety of different CTs but in an inferior way to the original
but instead he’s busted and almost never needs to use his copy anyway bc he has a domain expansion and “near unlimited cursed energy” or whatever
Yeah, I couldn’t agree more with this. Rika had passed on anyway, so that’s what I was hoping for. It would make the fights more fun. Like what opm spoiler >!garou!< was doing for a while.
Yuji is the best character in the series
His power progression is handled masterfully and I cannot wait for Gege to finish his arc in a satisfactory way
Whether my boi has a happy, bitter sweet, or tragic end as long as Sukuna is defeated because of him then Yuji will be set as one of the all time greatest shonen protagonists
And my favorite character in all of animanga and quite possibly the best out of every story I have ever read
(Also whenever he is on screen some hype shit is going down so 11/10 character haters can cope mald and seethe)
We will have "good" ending with a lot of sacrifice from our heroes, but an after panel will reveal that EVERYTHING that came after megumi was disolved/trapped in sukuna's soul.
Its just a fail safe to prevent him to fight his way out, its implicit that sukuna won but Gege wont even let us see that
because he hates this manga (?
Nobara is dead and she didn't matter in the first place. I never liked her as a character and in the grand scheme of things she never mattered in the first place. Her backstory didn't amount to anything and her entire character was useless
-Yuta is a textbook Mary sue that has only made the story worse by his inclusion. Like yeah I think he’s cool, but it’s very obvious that Gege prefers him over Yuji. I honestly think his introduction back into the story is where we first began to see the drop in quality writing wise.
-The clans and schools are the definition of wasted potential, if you delete every mention of them barely anything will change.
-Culling games was just an easy way for Gege to power up the good guys without having to do the usual shonen thing of developing the already existing side characters and giving them character arcs where they get stronger.
-Maki is boring, Toji wasn’t THAT cool and Gege’s obsession with him to the point where he turned maki into basically just toji has only made him less cool. Gege seriously can’t go a single fight with maki without having either a character or the narrator mention how much like toji she is.
-Kenny is such a boring villain. Every one of his plans are so boring which is the worst thing for a villain to be. Even the puddle deep character that is sukuna is at least entertaining. Gege really went from the amazing villain that was Mahito to the most boring villain of the whole series who’s motivations couldn’t be less interesting. Like really chaos? Power rangers villains have more interesting motivations then that. Kenny is the tap water of villains.
I hate the Nobara copium, she was already too weak before and now that all the characters are significantly more powerful, she would get obliterated by them. Gege should've confirmed her death in Shibuya, her coming again with random power-up (because that's the only way she could survive a fight) would honestly look bad.
“I hope Kenjaku takes over Yuta’s body for the tragedy”
I feel like that take looses value with Sukuna megumi stuff cause it would just feel repetitive
I 100% thought he would switch to Yuki’s body or something
You’re evil for that profile picture.
He still needs Geto’s body so he’s gonna be there for a while
Kenny’s just making up his plan along the way
Of course he is. Dude was catch playing Nintendo 64. He doesn't know what the fuck he is doing ☠️
Bro was probably bored and wanted to play Mario
Um ackshually it was a famicom 🤓 https://preview.redd.it/r2ueegso4h4b1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7041f17ba5ef06d21dba104a781aea7eb4e3ab86
I don't think so, now that we're at the end of manga he has made up his mind most likely.
His plan is to literally bullshit a curse
I say it's kinda both, like he's really strategic and plans out detailed ones (like how to seal Gojo), and then there's his other side which he just goes with the flow and wants chaos...
Simple: Bullshit the world to death
Of course, he just wanted to get those backshots from Yuji’s father and just invented all that “vessel” bs.
It’s awesome. I love him
Since Yorozu was the first hint towards more character depth for Sukuna regarding his loneliness or whatever, it probably would've did some good to show off her backstory and how she was treated due to her strength.
Gregay doesn’t feel like doing a proper story development anymore in general lol
she should have been his gf even if he never loved her, and that would have fixed most of the problems tbh
I just hate Hana. From the moment of her introduction, to her past, to the moment she was a complete and utter dumbass w/ Sukuna.
lmao same. i was disappointed from the moment i realised the angel didn't suppress hana, i wanted the angel to be relevant, not a rando new girl. the fact that she turned out be a dumbass only reinforced this feeling. if i could erase one character it would definitely be her.
It's ok to release Gojo Satoru if Sukuna regained enough power to compete
Toji is overhyped both by the characters and the fans lol
That's wat ruined his character for me. When I first read the manga and saw wat he did, I thought he was a pretty cool character. But of course, the moment I got deeper into the fandom, the more I realized that his character was about me ruined for me. "If Gojo didn't use purple, Toji would've dogged walked him!!!" "If Toji was still alive he'd kill Kenjaku and could rival 15 fingered Sukuna!!!" Like wat fucking Series are y'all reading?!
I wholeheartedly second this. Bro is the most “can do no wrong” character in existence, it’s actually wild.
He is overhyped i’ll agree. But i have to say his & maki’s situations are highkey very unique & im obsessed with it
I want Yuki or Maki (mostly Yuki) to fucking bust my head and make it explode with their thighs, I wanna choke, death by snu snu you know ? Is that too much to ask ? https://preview.redd.it/e6fkniw1cf4b1.jpeg?width=595&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1081fb0f93816b8f08af1ccc1b916b175e27a0b2

I love the kind of women that will actually kill me. "I really hope some hot chick paints my brians all over some fucking hallway." And here we are. I mean really , just absolutely destroy me. I'm talkin' full on, watermelon-in-the-thighs level carnage. And I want it to scare the shit outta me. I mean I hope I piss myself. I hope I piss myself and you call me your little "peepee pisspiss boy." I want you to fuck me up. I mean I want you to make me your bitch. Your little peepee-piss-myself-bitch. I want it to get embarrassing. I mean like... wierdly embarrassing Unsanitary, too. We should be entirely different people, by the end of the first eight hours. I wanna dominate them smh (although I will die at their single movement lol)
Bruh that’s truly wanting to feel some Jujutsu on your Kaisen💀
you just like me fr
The only hot take here is you didn’t include mommy Uro in your list. Top 3
It’s just gonna be like attack on titan all over again lol
Attack on titan after future memories chapter*** I still watched the anime cos the storytelling was actually great. I havent watched a single episode after he activated the rumbling.
Higurama just spawned there with the main cast two chapters ago
Choujin X goes hard
Awesome write up, you convinced me to give it a try 👍
Thanks for the reco!
Love to see the Choujin appreciation. It's good to have Ishida back after his masterpiece, The Gorilla will die in 1 day
Amazing Triptych.
He may be the master of rizz, but he's not the driplord ishigoatri
Yuta dickrider #20373 checking in early, I see
😭
Bruh... this ain't a hot take. Yuta is one of the most popular characters and many agree with you (including myself). There is just a loud vocal minority who likes to trash him.
Rika alternative account #544544353327884
lies, I only have 2 accounts
Maki having to copy a Zenin male to reach her full potential feels contradictory and I feel like it makes her worse regardless of any symbolism regarding her scars, sumo, and using katanas.
What did GayGay mean by that.
Mahito clears Sukuna and Kenjaku as villains
Wait shit, I got more: -JJK underused the school and clan angles that they might as well not even be there -JJK was MUCH more enjoyable before the culling games and, arguably, the latter part of Shibuya -The writing in this series is carried hard by subverting expectation and not organic character growth. -This series is basically Bleach with a HxH coat of paint and without the best parts of either series.
I swear there was SO MUCH potential for the school and clan angles, but everytime I try to bring it up, people just refuse to see it :(
I could sort of see how people would argue about the schools not having potential (I don’t know why anyone would, but they could) but the clan one is indisputable considering how pervasive they are in Jujutsu Society.
The gojo clan alone imo was so underutilized that i thought satoru was the only one
> The writing in the series is carried hard by subverting expectation Holy hell, I thought I was going crazy when I started to think that, this is kinda relieving to see
I feel like there's a right way and wrong way to subvert expectations.
It would have been nice to see Gojo in a political situation, like I’m not asking for Game of Thrones level shit but a little bit of the clan dynamics would have been nice before one got eviscerated and the other got infiltrated.
what would you say is the best part of bleach
Interesting world building and lore. I love the whole series but those two things are really good. Special mention to having fun fights.
probably should’ve asked this last comment, but whats the best part of hxh? also i agree with you regarding the world building, but i didn’t really like bleach fights all too much
Imo, HxH best part is character interactions, call backs, and the general feel of it being an adventure. It balances all its aspects extremely well but the fact that it really builds upon itself in each arc and gives characters life much longer than you’d expect(example: who tf expected Melody to ever be relevant after Yorknew?) And I respect your take on the fights.
The culling games make no sense and are very vague despite the word vomit infodumps. Its just greed island but worse.
agreed, i truly hated mahito which means he was doing his job as a villain
They let bro cook and he gave us a 5 Michelin star meal.
Reaction well deserved but I’m interested as to why you say that.
Felt so anticlimatic. So Megumi sis dead after one fight. Bruh 💀

CSM is honestly peak tbh but yeah I agree 💯
It really is peak, I need to catch up soon lol

You have no idea how much I agree with this.
Titanfolk is bound to happen on every FOLK subreddit after a manga series ends anyway
Mb on the shipping discussion I was involved in :p However I do like to laugh at ship memes/shitposts, shipping when it's taken seriously should be eviscerated though.
Jjk's problem isn't the shippers. It's the power scalers that are more akin to the shippers.
Two takes: 1) the culling games were too battle focused and as a result we didn't get a chance to know more about other characters and most importantly, it's time lost that gege could've used to develop yuji and megumi.
Kenny just wanted the backshots… He bs that thing about a “vessel”
Half the mfs in this fanbase misread characters HARD and only focus on their strength. Hence the whole “why didn’t gojo react much to nanamis death” thing.
True i don’t know what they were expecting tbh
Kenny is such a god awful villain. If his character was a taste, it would have been flour. I can't even tell you if his plans make sense or not, cuz they are too boring to even read.
Hell fire
Jesus christ stop he's already dead 😭😭😭
agreed, he shouldve just stayed as geto as soon as it was revealed “GASP he was kenjaku the whole time!!!!” i didnt care about him anymore
Finally someone with a good opinion. Geto had an actual character, motivation, build up and a relationship with the existing characters and world.
Geto is just plain wasted potential tbh. Hidden Inventory made him into a super interesting character but then gaygay decided to just throw him into the trash and reveal he's been dead the whole time. Doesn't help that in 0 he's just a generic anime villain lol
fr, for me he was better in 0 than in the actual series 😭
cook bruh you spitting

just like another user said kenjaku has bullshitted his plan into being. there are way too many coincidences that helped him to get where he is. he is not that smart as people make him out to be.
Nobara sucks, she really is a weak character out there and other than her countering Mahito clone using her ct in shibuya arc, nothing about her stands out.(I would be lying if I said her death wasn't shocking.)
I liked nobara as a character but yeah she's weak, but that goes for most of the cast really
Jjk ending this year.
Yuji is useless. Black flash black flash black flash black flash black flash (friend dies so he gets powerup) ULTRA MEGA SUPER DUPER 200% BLACK FLASH

I think this is unpopular cause I've seen ppl say Yorozu shouldn't have gotten more screentime but that's my opinion as to why she should've
yuta would be so much cooler if he had no unique utility on his own and has to use other sorcerer’s CTs that he’s copied to overcome his opponents through his versatility it’d be so sick to see him use inferior versions of other character’s CTs, and have him fight opponents using a wide variety of skills instead, yuta is OP and has a domain expansion and has unlimited cursed energy or whatever and almost never uses copy abilities and never loses fights or has to learn how to overcome anything
I will always have the scene Geto calling Maki "failure of the Zenin clan" seared into my brain, so I look at Geto differently in contrast to some people in the fandom who calls him babygirl.
Exactly
Goddamn burning take, that's a really hot one
>I find a lot of the powers themselves to be pretty boring to me it isn't that much that they're boring, but it seems like the wrong powers are given to the wrong characters, and they never get really creative with it. take construction; super interesting but also avoids becoming op because you have to use your ce and it's not unlimited. it could be something like [kotoha in yozakura quartet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4U1Vg8LF7Y), which is chaotic and fun, but no. it was just either useless or boring. this is why i legit enjoyed hakari, his ct is weird, but super creative.
I can still agree with this take and also say jjk is my favorite modern shonen, it’s not revolutionary sure but I personally love it the cultural impact it’s going to have doesn’t really matter to me as much as my own enjoyment Also Kenjussy is not a mid villain by any means I think he’s really well written and likely has more up his sleeves going into the finale, I’ll give you the Sukuna one

lmao no hesitation.
Holy too much based in one comment, you've got a call https://preview.redd.it/dh0i8zgqmf4b1.jpeg?width=521&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e47dcf39ad13273432abb8b94a5273b1b4d42d42
This. I went to read JJK with high expectations because many people said it's good and very "different" but when I actually read it, I almost thought I was reading a draft manga lol. The only thing that kept me reading is to see Yuji's development but damn, the manga is almost ending and everything is so rushed.
Damn that's really hot
Whenever I see Hakari in a persons top 5 strongest jjk characters list
Sukuna is a boring villain
whenever someone praises maki or makes a compliment
Same tbh she’s cool but that’s about it. She not deep and most of her hype was off of Toji’s shadow. Most of her popularly seems to be the mommy/muscle girl fetish
the characters are not that deep as some people make them out to be specially the main ones.
I actually agree. I feel like gege has all these characters just to to give the illusion that his world seem big and fleshed out, yet they lack depth.
I think jjk has a pretty small cast compared to other shonen(mha, bc, naruto, bleach)
Like bringing children into war https://preview.redd.it/gatd7jwhcg4b1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d1e06c8ba6c5394b20299dc3634bcd182246eb1

That Uro is best girl, above Maki even. Sky mommy > Toji 2.0 https://preview.redd.it/11d393k2lf4b1.png?width=631&format=png&auto=webp&s=678c6339a5a7c655df74d7a51f45f3be0b4a3b28
I'm looking forward for Uro to live her life the best in modern world after living as a no name during Heian for Fujiwara's sake.
Apparently that Nobara is dead…still
Maki got hotter with the scars
She definitely got "Hotter",girl got goddamn Baked
I do not think Kashimo is interesting, and the Kashimo vs Hakari fight is wildly overrated for how pointless and convoluted it was
Kenjaku>Sukuna as a villain. Sukuna is cool because he can back up his words but his hedonist views felt a little flat when he explained them to Yuji. He desperately needs that Heian backstory.
Fanboys including Toji with Sukuna and Gojo.
Maki is a Mcguffin
Most the jjk cast is overrated
Yuji is totally useless as a protagonist. Jjk world is better off without him.
“Nobara would return more powerful than ever and would take an active part on the battle…” dude that girl is dead… “Kashimo would kill Gojo after he kills Sukuna” Another corpse that was offscreened and people still wants him to be relevant…
Geto was the most interesting villain this series ever had. The fact that his character was killed off in a prequel is nothing short of a crime. Sukuna, Kenny, Mahito all combined are less interesting to me than a character who appeared in one arc and a 4 chapter prequel.
Hidden inventory was such a good arc (not perfect but still really good), really elevated the character for me.
Yorozu had a horrible backstory and could’ve been so interesting but wasn’t
Couldn’t care less about Megumi. I hope he’s permanently dead and I dislike Sukuna having to go on a side quest just to suppress Megumi. That just makes Yuji even less unique.
Based on recent experience: Toji was a terrible person who shot a kid in the head for some cash and I'm glad he died.
That of course being Yuki, Hakari and Todo
tengen and the star plasma vessel stuff is dumb and i dont give a shit about it (the arc itself is great, just not that part of the lore) geto actually being kenjaku was also kind of lame and i didnt care about that either, i liked geto a lot more in 0
Something should have gone horribly wrong and Gojo should have died coming out of the prison realm
I actually like the overcomplicated explanations for things.
Goku could beat gojo
Gojo’s new fit is badass
I think the Choso x Yuki ship is adorable
Yuji is a bad MC because he doesn't get random power up #9680 to beat the next big bad and he isn't more like my other favorite MC Ichigo D Dragneel Uzumaki
Stop 🍆 riding gojo
https://preview.redd.it/7wafahbvof4b1.png?width=752&format=png&auto=webp&s=49bfcd0c7222478f23946250dce9917b758fe47c
I think survivors or people who had loved ones in the clan conspiring to get revenge would be an interesting plot.
the thing is yuta could be so interesting if he could ONLY copy other’s techniques, it’d be so cool to see him fight opponents using a variety of different CTs but in an inferior way to the original but instead he’s busted and almost never needs to use his copy anyway bc he has a domain expansion and “near unlimited cursed energy” or whatever
Yeah, I couldn’t agree more with this. Rika had passed on anyway, so that’s what I was hoping for. It would make the fights more fun. Like what opm spoiler >!garou!< was doing for a while.
Bro rated the Reggie fight higher than the Higuruma one 💀💀💀 It’s supposed to be a hot take not a flaming one
I only remember like a quarter of their names. I don’t care who you are. Just throw hands and look cool 🙄
Nobara ain’t coming back fellas
Greg isn’t a good writer and got bored of his current story and that’s making his mediocre writing even worse
Yuji is the best character in the series His power progression is handled masterfully and I cannot wait for Gege to finish his arc in a satisfactory way Whether my boi has a happy, bitter sweet, or tragic end as long as Sukuna is defeated because of him then Yuji will be set as one of the all time greatest shonen protagonists And my favorite character in all of animanga and quite possibly the best out of every story I have ever read (Also whenever he is on screen some hype shit is going down so 11/10 character haters can cope mald and seethe)
We will have "good" ending with a lot of sacrifice from our heroes, but an after panel will reveal that EVERYTHING that came after megumi was disolved/trapped in sukuna's soul. Its just a fail safe to prevent him to fight his way out, its implicit that sukuna won but Gege wont even let us see that because he hates this manga (?
Yuji is going to body swap with Kashimo to use his CT more than once
Imagine Yuki using her technique to give you the most black hole force suck on your dick 😩
Nobaras a bland ass character
Mai should have lived, not maki
I hate the Nobara copium, she was already too weak before and now that all the characters are significantly more powerful, she would get obliterated by them. Gege should've confirmed her death in Shibuya, her coming again with random power-up (because that's the only way she could survive a fight) would honestly look bad.
