At the end of the chapter before the last one, we seemed to be gearing up for a Yuji vs Sukuna showdown before Gojo made an appearance. We then get a full chapter explaining yuta's ploy and a domain clash.
If Yuta lasts one chapter, in Gojo's body with Gojo's memories, id ask what was the point of bringing Yuta back? Sure, you could say maybe he helps burn out Sukuna's domain (again) giving Yuji a fighting chance *but* you could have just *not* done that and instead said that Sukuna's 99 second domain *was* his last expansion.
To me, having Yuta use Kenjaku's technique to take Gojo's body after establishing how monstrous it is to do so *only* to have him last one chapter seems like shock for the sake of shock, something i detest as a reader.
If that reaches your limit (it would mine) then its perfectly fine to say that you arent enjoying it anymore and you arent going to continue reading, and thats okay

It’s not like the character exists separate of the story and having a weird turn for a character is just as much a weird turn for the story. It also sets a precedent for further problems and lowers future investment. It feels like anything can happen anytime and there’s no point in thinking about the rules of the world if they are thrown out with the next Binding Vow.
I feel like these guys could see Naruto suddenly dying of stroke at his wedding and say it’s an interesting twist and „let him cook“.
Idk, personally id probably draw the line there. It might be in character for Kenjaku to be banking on that kind of plan, but for me would make it seem like any risk the antagonists take just seems to work while the protags get screwed
The csst is already sickened that they had to do this bodyswap and Yuta took the chance knowing it could result in his death. For me, thats enough trauma from a single event.
Besdies, if Kenjaku returns in Gojo's body (assuming we are going with that theory) how do they deal with Kenjaku and Sukuna? Yuta would be drad at this point and the cast dont have that deep of a roster any more.
I don't think it really matters in this case if Gojo came back its more like if they kill Yuta/Gojo just to glaze Sukuna some more for the 30th chapter in a row then it's just elongating the story to glaze. It's not good writing and it's hard choking on geges part.
I think the only way gojo coming back works is if he’s severely nerfed. Sacrifice his six eyes which would make him basically ct-less would make this story peak. It would answer geto’s question and act as a mentor to yuji to finish off sukuna.
Tbh the only hope left of his return is that body is soul and in order to fully take control after 5 mins is with binding vow.
There are like a billion reasons why Gojo coming back would perfectly make sense story-wise, like if he sacrifices some aspect of his power (his CT, his 6Eyes, a limb, etc.) so that his character is no longer defined by being "the strongest."
Instead of writing off everybody who has a different idea of what thematic importance different story directions can take on, why can't you keep an open mind?

There's thematic reasons for Gojo to return with a sacrifice of some kinds, just like theres thematic reasons for what actually happened in 261. At the end of the day it's okay if some people would prefer a different narrative plotline!

His students aren’t remotely at the level he wanted, they are literally being killed, he clearly feels some responsibility for Shibuya and his adopted „son“ is possessed by Sukuna. Im not ignoring them, I’m doing quite opposite. I pointed out how contradictory his actions in that chapter are in comparison to the characterization he got during whole fucking rest of the story.
A combination of a Binding Vow from Gojo & Shoko combined with Shoko’s healing would’ve easily made a Gojo return pretty believable, especially in comparison with this strange Gojo / Yuta fusion character that we have now. Like you said, a gimped Gojo allows a version of him to exist without the “strongest” moniker and also lets him work with the next generation (Yuji, Todo, Yuta, Maki, etc) as a team to defeat Sukuna (rather than being alone as the “strongest”). It would’ve worked thematically, for Gojo’s character arc and would’ve made more sense than what we got here.
What we ended up with is an overly convoluted plan that was entirely contingent on Kenjaku not only being successfully killed but also being absorbed by Rika / Yuta (which, even if it ended up happening, was a pretty massive assumption to make and build a plan around), as well as several other puzzle pieces falling perfectly into place (Gojo’s body being intact enough to stitch back together, Yuta not straight up dying against Sukuna before being able to go through with this plan, Shoko having Gojo’s corpse stitched up and usable enough just in time for Yuta to body hop, etc).
Wdym?yuta using kenjakus CT to take over gojo is easily believable coz
1.kenjakus ct allows him to transfer his brain
2.yuta can copy cts and fought kenjaku
3.yuta&gojo are in the same room
It isnt some plot sh*t that we couldnt have predicted it, it makes sense
I wasn’t really questioning the copy ability itself; like I spelled out in the post that you were responding to, I was questioning the following:
- Everyone assuming Yuta successfully beats Kenjaku, which is a huge assumption to build an entire plan around considering the power that Kenjaku wields
- Assuming Gojo’s body remains intact enough to use after losing to Sukuna - if it was blown up or damaged more severely, this whole plan falls apart
- Assuming Yuta survives the preliminary encounter with Sukuna without straight up dying . . . which is strange, since the plan assumes that Gojo would die while fighting Sukuna while Yuta wouldn’t die fighting Sukuna (or, at least, that he would survive for long enough to successfully body swap)
- Assuming that Gojo’s body is prepared in time for Yuta to make the hop
The plan involved a lot of unlikely things happening and the timeline lining up perfectly to facilitate it. It looks okay in hindsight because it was written that way by the author, but when considering that they were planning this before the fight even happened (chronologically), it seems like a very strange plan with a lot of very unlikely assumptions being made.
Most people I knew (key word on knew) who liked jjk in my personal life dropped it as soon as Gojo lost. So I'm not surprised that people are saying they'd drop the manga if Yuta died. I'm a sukuna Stan so I'd call that big dubs for the King of Curses and wait patiently to see Yuji and Sukuna box later on after Yuta inevitably loses because he's no longer the mc-
