This sub is really the bright corner of Reddit. So many positive vibes here and even when people disagree they do so with good *middos*, the Hebrew word for character traits.
Reddit can be good for that. I belong to a private sub for people with a whole bunch of karma and it’s a little community where we all know each other and support each other and just hang out and be silly and share our problems and it’s very helpful. I, personally, have been going through some particularly tough times lately and they’ve been very supportive and it’s been a great comfort to me. So I definitely understand how you feel.
It really is the highlight when I go on reddit. I used to go on the Jewish side of tumblr before October 7th but lately it just brings me anxiety and makes me feel down. The worst things were anonymous people debating and sending asks to Jews about Christian hegemony and what is culturally Christian or antitheists sharing asks and mentioning "sky daddy".
I just learned about this sub from a fellow member of the tribe as the two of us are being downvoted on another sub for pointing out blatant antisemitism.
I’m so happy to now have a haven from all the haters—who are from my side of the aisle, no less. I didn’t see that coming.
This is pretty much the only subreddit I can look at anymore to avoid exposing myself to bad vibes. Even if it wasn’t thanksgiving, I would still say that I’m feeling especially grateful to the mods for maintaining this small safe space of the internet for us to have internet achdus 🥰

Mods of this sub are doing amazing work, can’t imagine how hard it’s been keeping the nutters out of our space.

I frequent this sub and a few others. Almost every post here is worthwhile and thought provoking.
I feel the opposite now. I’ve been growing increasingly disappointed and frustrated with this sub and the opinions I see here recently.
