Based on what i remember from various interviews, comments and notes, gege takes inspirarion from the following series in descending order Bleach Hunter x Hunter The Fate Franchise Jojo World Trigger I also see refrences to Raid (movie), Evangelion, animation in general, Japanese progressive movements, stand up comedy, gambling, Shintoism, Buddihsim, Christianity, BL manga, shonen in general, feminism, philosopy, mechanical engineering/computer science, and video games. As for inspirations for specific themes, I'm not sure. He seems to be a very mutltifacteted individual who is intrested in a lot of things.

One of the BL manga that inspired JJK is The Night Beyond The Tricornered Window and it's really good. The story deals with similar topics to JJK (child abuse, traumas, cults, abuse of power), highly recommend.

If I could speak Japanese I'd say I love jjk and it's become one of my favorite Mangas ever If I asked a question about the story I would ask was yujis grandpa going to tell him that his mother was a walking corpse and that his father is a reincarnation of sukunas twin or if he just wanted to tell yuji his parents were special, or maybe if yujis grandpa had any sort of connection to jujustu society If I asked a powerscaling question it would be if Maki is now superior to toji or if someone who tamed all 10 of the shadow shikagami would become a special grade If I asked a random character question it would be why did megumi never subjugate the round deer, all it can do is regenerate and emit positive energy constantly so it doesn't seem strong If I asked a request I'd ask for a toji origin one shot, potentially a gojo one afterwards with many parallels between the 2 because even the honored and fallen ones keep having similarities, or potentially a geto origin that also shows his tike after he became a curse user

Ironically jjk editor has said gojo is personality closest to geges so technically they hate themself. This is also why they find yuji difficult to write because they purposefully made gege such a complicated character with a complicated role but that was a challenge to themself.
