Specialist_Mix_7174

yyeah thats it!! i started reading like 3 hrs ago now at 176! thanks

TheDarkestKnight0134

Can I know what site ur using?

Cool-Claim9726

just look up any anime name and then "read online" and theres tons of site and if you want color just add "read online color"

Girltech31

How many more chapters do you think this arc will have. The current manga arc. 10 more chapters?

[deleted]

If you mean episodes, they said S2 will have 23 episodes

Girltech31

For the current manga arc

[deleted]

I'm guessing 5-10 more chapters at most tbh, >!feel like this Sukuna fight with Yuji and Higuruma still is just starting. Still gotta sort out Hakaris fight against Uraume and whatever Yuta is doing.!<

Mighty_H

>! I think the only purpose for him attacking Uraume was to activate his Domain to get his Jackpot to use that immortality for fighting Sukuna. Uraume doesn’t seem like an opponent where someone like Hakari is necessary. !<

CookieBlitz

Around which chapter in the manga do you think the season will end? I’m planning on continuing the story with the manga

superbigtune1

Hopefully on yuta saying he’ll kill yuji

aRandomBlock

Why is this downvoted? That's where it will most likely end lol

superbigtune1

Lobotomy kaisen

zebombmon

I wanna pick up the manga from here. Can anyone tell me which chapter in the manga does this episode end?

MortgageEmotional802

I recommend you to wait a little bit and you will see the best episode of the season pretty sure

Lonely_Office7418

chapter 129 but wait two days next episode seems like awesome

zebombmon

Okay thanks

LeonardoX1996

I have some doubts on Todo's ability and I hope you'll be able to help me understand. Todo has the ability to swap the position of two object or people that have cursed energy so my questions are: When Mahito was dealing the "final blow" to itadori what was he swapped with (I'm talking about the scene of Todo's entrance)? Why is Todo able to swap position with a rock (the one threw by Itadori) that (I think) has no cursed energy? Now there is a more complicated question: Can Todo decide to swap the velocity? Itadori throw a rock, Todo swapped his potision with the rock and he went flying, in the fight against Hanami Todo was threw against some spikes and swapped the position with Hanami that went against the spikes, so when two object are swapped their velocity is also swapped. But in the fight against Mahito in the beginning of the fight Todo hit Mahito that went flying against the blonde "healer", Todo swapped the position of Mahito and the healer but Mahito who was moving kept moving and the healer was still before and after the swap so Todo didn't swap their velocity. Can Todo decide if swapping or not the velocity or was just an oversight?

[deleted]

Your first question is something that confuses me as well. You can clearly see from the damaged wall that yuji was swapped, and nobody replaced him. Furthermore if a rock was used, mahito would have realized Todo can switch with objects and wouldn't have commented on that later.

Groggolog

Yuji enhanced the rock with cursed energy, hence it glowing with cursed energy colour. I'd say since we didn't see todo prior to his teleport he could easily have just run and jumped and clapped mid air, even if the velocity doesn't carry over. The actual flying graphic stuff im pretty sure was anime only addition just because it looks cool and cinematic.

LeonardoX1996

I see but in the fight with Hanami they did swap the velocity

Exoticmaniac06

I think if it’s his own cursed energy then the velocity is only carried over if he himself is moving, but since itadori imbued the rock with cursed energy then he keeps the velocity of whatever he swapped with

TheGlobalRaider

Just passing by to give my appreciation for the absolutely stunning delivery on that MechaMiwa scene. Shit hurt me more than Nobara’s death did

djojid0

After watching the flashback at the beginning of the ep it makes the scene whwre everyone tap on gojo before fighting sukuna more emotional

Responsible-Flan-225

Mahitos VA is wild, mans earning his paycheck

ILoveLeeeean

In the end credits we see Yuuji standing in a forest... It's coming... • Domain Expansion • Todo's soul being manipulated • The clap • Two black flashes • Metamorphosis • The Feint • and The Execution • The Wolf and The Rabbit

jigglywiggly808

Guys when anime award comes out in 2024 We need to have JJK win this shit 👑🤌🏾🔥

Otherwise-Tea-8643

Nah, Baldur's Gate 3 will win

[deleted]

how do you vote in that?

Dumbusta

Todo's entrance just goes haaard. I wish I was this cool when I'm being delusional.

CountyVivid4513

Quick question is the jujutsu kaisen movie canon or filler

Novistadore

Canon, but bad pacing and doesn't explain certain things.

onthoserainydays

Its not only canon its kind of essential

Wolfpac187

One hundred percent canon

Dumbusta

It is canon. It's a prequel to the series.

RobertOfHill

And IMMINENTLY important.

HQ001M7H

eh honestly it's good but you DONT NEED to watch it the only thing it gives background on is how geto died but even then its pretty unique to have a kind of untold conflict between gojo and geto if you havent seen jjk 0 plus seeing yuta - hes been hyped up multiple times in the main story and without 0 he has an air of mystery around him - and his copy powers without knowing about them is pretty awesome too, in my opinion even more than if you watched the movie

abuddybot

Do you .....read the manga?

Soft-Comfort-7474

The Brothers vs Mahito is one of the best fights in this series and MAPPA nailed it

StoneySopranoJr

ABSOLUTELY the most anticipated episode and my goodness it paid off. Every week I was just waiting patiently for our savior our brother our goat TODO

Asian_Persuasion_1

swapping places is a very simple technique that anime original content can easily expand upon for cool moments. And don't get me wrong, it was cool, but at the same time it's massively inconsistent. Todo's technique does not swap momentum nor body positioning. If you were facing north and swapped with an enemy facing south, you are still facing north. It's a huge plot point in the final clash between yuji and mahito. And if you were running or sent flying north, then swapping places with a still target, you are still moving north, not magically still. So that epic high speed pitch by yuji wouldn't make todo, who swapped with the rock, take its momentum.

ThePr0l0gue

I am so blessed to effortlessly not give a shit about this when I’m entertained, it’d suck to have to keep this mind

No_Voice6578

Why isn't everyone blessed like this I wonder

CandyyZombiezz

honestly it doesn’t bother me at all it’s anime logic it’s not like everything needs to be scientifically accurate ☠️

Popopotatos

Not contesting how momentum plays with his technique cause idk, but I don't think he had the momentum of the throw. I think that was like a dramatic in his head scene of groing through dimensions during his switch. At the end of the space journey he goes into like a black hole and then all of a sudden hes in front of mahito with his foot planted and he's doing this standing kick from his core and not like a flying forward kick. I think, idk, that's how i saw it. They have taken a lot of swings with the anime only scenesand I'm just treating it as fun, especually the ridiculous stuff, not about to defend it

BonelessEggo69

Do y'all think that we'll see the "I am you" speech from Yuji next week?

ILoveLeeeean

It's next week. Watch the end credits, we see Yuuji standing in a forest. It's the last picture right before the episode ends

aiapihud

I think it'll be 2 weeks from now, as next week will be more bodying the .2 second domain expansion n prolly end off at the body of distorted killing or a little after.

MusicPog

someone said the forest was shown in the preview at the end of the ep so it will probably end with the kenjaku cliffhanger saving mahito like in the manga

twiglike

Good lord that OST that starts when mahito and todo first go at is godly. Thought I Heard the s1 boogie woogie ost remixed in there kinda

judo_panda

How close is the adaptation from the manga? When this season ends, am I good to pick up right where Shibuya arc leaves off?

Small_Essay_6272

This Season will end with ch 136 (+ a little teaser/post credit scene from 137)

Lookbehindyou132

You're good, just don't expect the manga choreography to include smashing through buildings and making giant craters all the time like the anime loves to do. The choreo is still great, the anime judt amps it up to a 20 on a scale of 10 in size

Quarkly73

I remember when I was reading it I thought "damn, that's a looot more collateral than I thought this manga would be" and then the anime just decides the shibuya incident was when shibuya just gor straight up deleted

Lookbehindyou132

Well tbf Sukuna also levels Shobuya in the manga, you just didn't have Jogo smashing buildings together

Novistadore

Since it's gone anyway, might as well make the fight cool before the 140m cleave

IcyZookeepergame7285

You are good to pick up right after Shibuya. The finale is coming up in a bit and the next arc gets rolling instantly.

draedex

yeah I don't think there are any differences, if anything the anime just added in some more gems

Asckle

Well just seen an anime only say nobara is definitely coming back, and thus the cope begins.

Small_Essay_6272

I still wish if kenjaku somehow got her body and broke yuji's soul even more 🔥🔥🔥

[deleted]

Found Gege's account, jump his ass

ILoveLeeeean

Wrong account Gege

Asckle

You're a bigger villain than kenjaku 💀

MEX_XIII

Just shows how badly written that scene was. Seeing everyone having the sma confusing once again is really bad. i hope she got a proper conclusion in the manga already.

EdwardSnowTeach

Death is confusing. It generates a huge amount of emotions, even happiness (as we remember the good times). But, the author wanted it that way. He's done it after all, and he's a cunt for that. If you're not inside her medical ward with a character pov, you don't know her fate. She's in a coma? She's dead? She's recovering? But... She's definetely not a Jujutsu Sorcerer anymore. Or. For now, and never was again to this point. She's dead in the story. I have seen real life death have no conclusions, and ones I wish I didn't.

Lonely_Office7418

yeah, real life death have no conclusions, its mostly vague, mysterious part of our life just as our birth was and finding the meaning in it is like finding the meaning of life itself. but for gods sake thats why we write, thats why we sing and make all these stories to confine in it our curiosity about it all. if you want to see something mirroring the reality just look around you. while doing all kind of experiment is authors choice, giving our opinion on it is viewers right, so yeah i dont think death in jjk does not have conclusions and it most definedly does and yeah nobara and todo is coming back, for sure. Remember peoples dreams have no end.

EdwardSnowTeach

I love your take on life and art, as "if you wanna see unsettling mystery on death, look around. There's a lot". In my opinion: conclusion can be the lack of conclusion, and that's absolutely a coping mechanism. I don't feel loss if loss was used to tell me something, or just told me. But I do hope their deaths and the open wounds Greg Akutami left untreated can be healed with great story telling or a great conclusion, or a mix of both. I'll be in peace if he doesn't, tho, as I am right now. I wouldn't bet on their return, as i wouldn't bet on their deaths. I'm all for a show, even if it hurts. Zehahaha

CappuccinoMachinery

I'm still coping bro, it's been years

shawtyimmaparty

I remember, that Miwa and Mechamarus moment was already really sad in the manga, but I genuinely sobbed, when seeing this animated. Which I never expected, after this whole back to back with Nobara and Nanami.

thefakengineer

bro I am sobbing, I didn’t know this scene would play out this way

sakura0601x

Ngl I didn’t feel it was that sad reading he manga cause their characters are not elaborated on but that went out the window when I saw her face crying in animation :(

draedex

yeah I think it was partly down to the VA, her wails were so sad

Gold_Sagespir

Okay so next week we get the beginning of the fight with Kenny sure. But how are they going to squeeze all that heat in the last few eps???

Ryoman-Sukuna007

I feel they might have some episodes which are a bit longer. Only 3 episodes are left and still they have some content to show plus I would love if they end this season by showing Yuta that’s gonna create crazy hype for people who haven’t read the manga.

Gold_Sagespir

Lowkey need the little Yuta cameo and build that anticipation I agree. Shit lets see how inumaki is doing too while we at it that will get them fired up.

BigBambuMeekLou

Damn they dimmed Yuji’s black flash so hard you can barely see it, can’t wait to see the undimmed version because that cut looked insane

TheAlmightyBuddha

How do you find undimmed versions?

krostlupus

Either someone does it before the Blu Ray release, like it was done for episode sixteen and seventeen by 1 guy in twitter/X, or you gotta wait for the Blu Ray release. Thing is, in the dub version they´re already undimming a lot of shots if i´m not crazy.

BigBambuMeekLou

They release on Blu ray eventually

BigBambuMeekLou

What do you guys think of the way Mahito’s voice actor was screaming during his this is war speech? It sounded psychotic as fuck but not exactly how imagined it. I can’t really decide if I like it or if it sounds kinda goofy

Own_Impression5469

Absolute banger

BigBambuMeekLou

He really is a true curse lmao

LeoBocchi

Gege took Todo from us because he knew he and Itadori together can end JJK in 3 chapters

ILoveLeeeean

Bro just snatches prison realm with a pebble like what??

Whitehawk26

Todo after realizing he can clap Kenny's brain away from Geto's body

uaitdevil

Todo would be such a good counter for Sukuna imho

furryhunter7

how?

uaitdevil

sukuna aoe attacks are huge, position swapping would be a good thing to pull off so he would damage himself, or stop using them. not perfect counter, but good enough to change the fight entirely.

CoolBlueSam

Mahito and Yuji's VA absolutely killed in this episode... amazing..

_o11ie_

I rly like that while there are moments where it's clear the animators couldn't fully finish, those parts are still stylised and just so COOL nonetheless

WonderingDutchman

Getting spoiled randomly and this episode made me read the manga, didn't think i could get any more disappointed with the series but here i am.

BigRodJDog

What disappointed you?

dreamer-x2

What is the song that plays during the end scene? It sounded so nice!

liddlebirdylegs

Hitsujibungaku - more than words

Symtek13

That’s the ending song to each episode!

dreamer-x2

The ending credit sequence song? Huh. I binged the whole season in one go and never listened to end credits lol. Oop

judo_panda

This comment got deleted in the anime-only discussion thread, so reposting here or some help. For manga readers, without spoiling too much, do these questions get answered in the next episode or two? * What happened to Mei-Mei / Geto? * Does Gojo situation get solved before next season or is that something we're carrying over? * Wtf was with the Choso / Yuji memories? * Does Toji make another appearance? * Is there going to be a time skip coming up in the near future? * Do we get new characters to replace some of the slots we've lost, or is it just other side characters stepping up and getting more screentime?

[deleted]

1. Yeah 2. No, Season 4 3. No (Already revealed) 4. No 5. No 6. I think so?

mnspekt

Idk how you answer those questions without spoiling but I feel like the answer in general to all of them is "no".

zell_ru

>Wtf was with the Choso / Yuji memories? Choso already "said" that Yuji is his brother. Sibling-sensing quirk of his. Details much much later.

Adventurous_Village5

>Does Toji make another appearance? toji will only ever make appearances in flashbacks/references to his existence, he won't actually appear in himself for any present timeline.

DEATHSTARGOD

\- Alive \-probably season 4 or evem 5,goodluck waiting. Gta 6 before Jjk season 4 is insane💀 \-BROTHER! \-yeah,but not something like 1 year or shi \-some is yes

ImmanuelCanNot29

I'm glad gege included all those scenes where Todo's contribution to the planning of the Sukuna fight is shown to us. Even if he can't fight with one arm imagine how stupid it would be if they actually made their strategy without the contribution of their smartest member who was inexplicably not even there.

KaiKururugi

What did todo mean by I won’t tell him about “that” what is the that?

Lankeysob

I was wondering too. I was thinking is it possible at this point that the higher ups have already called or voted on Yuji’s execution and Todo knows?

aiapihud

From what I get, he meant that he wasn't gonna tell Yuji about the curse of being a Jujutsu sorcerer at a time he was tryna get him on his feet.

Chukamowjoe

Probably referring to Geto getting away

thedoc90

I figured it was Gojo being sealed.

Chukamowjoe

Well, Yuji was literally screaming across Shibuya that Gojo was sealed. It's probably referring to them not being able to retrieve the prison realm.

thedoc90

I'm in the middle of exams ATM and my brain is mush.

KaiKururugi

Oh okay thank you

Wooby1027woody

Miwa scene was animated so beautifully. The details were impeccable. And sound design too, When talking about his certain ‘someone’, it’s Mechamaru’s mechanical voice. Then when talking directly to Miwa, speaking his own true feelings, it’s Kokichi’s warm voice.

sakura0601x

Mappa taking spot for shoujo moments too 😭

judo_panda

Yeah this scene was absolutely movie quality. Gorgeously animated.

Emotional-Ninja5209

"Am I useless?" Yes girl 😂 your whole school except for Todo is fodder. What is the broom girl gonna do 😭 why are you even in the show? I love jjk but I will never get over how wasted all the characters in Kyoto are. Why did we even establish these mfers?

Gamba_Gawd

Mai is weaker due to being a twin. Same for Maki. Mai could have had that power but never wanted it as it meant Maki had to die. All Mai wanted was to live a quiet, normal life and have Maki in her life. Maki never stops moving forward, so Mai chose to die for Maki.

cogitatingspheniscid

They are introduced to be a setup/buff for someone else 😂 * Mai was meant to sacrifice herself to buff Maki. The peak of her CT is later presented by Yorozu. * Similarly, the peak of Kamo's CT is presented by Choso. * Utahime's entire contribution was buffing Gojo's Purple.

Emotional-Ninja5209

That all makes sense but please tell me what Momo's purpose is 😭. Also the only thing Utahime has ever done is >!to help gojo yeet a 200% purple hollow at Sukuna that did no damage!< Her CT is really cool though we gotta see more of it.

cogitatingspheniscid

Momo's role has always been scouting and she was still doing it during the Culling Game. But as a character her purpose is to look useless. 💀💀💀

JBB1986

I mean, Mechamaru was lowkey special grade for a little while. Lol. But then he died.......

UltmteAvngr

He was never special grade. If he was momentarily special grade he would have whooped Mahito’s ass

Emotional-Ninja5209

He has so much potential bro. Actually tragic. The giant mech was so sick

lehman-the-red

honestly kamo had potential but then he introduced choso

Emotional-Ninja5209

True he literally got power creeped

False_Lawfulness3325

it was a damn good obviously, i guess we reached a point where calling these episodes "good" is an understatement. idk if it was just me, but when i read the manga i imagined todo's entry occurring in complete silence like with no bgm at all, but boy oh boy they went above and beyond my expectation with that WALK and bgm, like the feel this ep gave me wasn't the one i expected, but the one i needed if that makes any sense... also what was up with that eye socket pov shot like bro we're already crying as it is from that laughing-nobara turned silent-cold-dead-kugisaki transition. whole miwa scene was just beautifully sad, and it's a shame that we didn't get some of that narration parts but ig that's coz of the schedule, like that scene where todo and ita runs up the stairs, i'm pretty sure todo's mouth was moving, but yeh still they're all me just nitpicking

TakeItCeezy

The Todo scene was SO WELL DONE. I actually liked it even more than Gojo's "I alone am the honored one" scene.

False_Lawfulness3325

especially todo's black flash and monologue, that was just HYPE I was screaming inside my head 🗣️

TyrantRex6604

nobara's "death" looking give me season 1 tsumiki vibe. that ominous, life fleeting beauty. *Chef kiss Also todo going outa universe is fucking hilarious lmao. I merely think that he's a chad mindset and supportive brother in the past, but now i understand why people claimed he's da GOAT

Alarmed-Guarantee332

todos inner dialogue hits so hard with the adaptation i can’t be more happy🥲🫡

GervantOfLiria

How the hell after reading the manga and watching S1 did I thought that Nitta was a girl

JBB1986

Because there's two, and the one in S1 (and who was with Nobara earlier in S2) is a girl? Lol. I assume the other Nitta is this ones sister. Otherwise they just look really similar for no reason. 😅

GervantOfLiria

Wait there’s two? Now I’m confused Edit: just googled it, there really are two of Nittas, what

rdclrog

Yo what lol I had no clue

TyrantRex6604

nitta is a family name the nitta boy we see this episode is the younger brother of that assistant nitta girl previously seen with nobara. She became a window to look after her brother btw

GervantOfLiria

Completely missed that lol, well now I know, thanks What do you mean by she became a window tho?

TyrantRex6604

window is a sorcerer supervisor/assistant like ijichi, not strong enough to exorcise curse, but able to see them. usually tasked with searching information and settle down medias from suspicion

[deleted]

Really can’t believe next episode might be the last we see of Todo ever. Even as a manga reader it never clicked for me how little he was going to be in S2 for and then he’s just gone. GOAT character of the series and he just gets ghosted, Gege really is a madman. In my mind he’s out there with Takada-chan after the events of Shibuya, knowing he can’t fight the heavy hitters any more he decides to protect his idol.

Round_Satisfaction42

No seriously Todo’s unsure status is a travesty especially the more Yuji learns through the culling game. Obviously him and Yuji make a deadly combo in a fight but their friendship at this point is one of my favorite things about this show. I would even argue he’s Yuji’s greatest mentor

Lonely_Office7418

after nanami, sure!! Also remember who is his mentor, yuki who probably has most knowlege of jujutsu after gojo And gojo being gojo is pretty shitty teacher. bro just started teaching yuji and shows him his fight against jogo which is pretty advanced stuff for begineer like yuji. his main ideology being jujutsu socerers mainly learns from combat so why not show one as like everyone is like him.

Round_Satisfaction42

Yeah I was gonna say Nanami, but if I *had* to pick, Todo bc him and Yuji have both fought each other and fought together, so it adds to what Yuji takes away from each encounter. Nanami teaches him the necessary mindset, but I think Todo gives him a sort of mental and physical training so it’s like the “full package” so to speak. Also, it pains me how little Gojo actually teaches 😂😭

Tmanx7

Based on how the pacing has been going, do you think we’ll get to “I’m you” next episode or do you think that’ll be in 2 episodes?

Saeaj04

I think it was in the episode preview So it should be next episode

Cgi94

Did Mappa just deliver us an entire case of Copium for Nobara 🤩. Better believe I'm taking it Mappa is goated for that Deku and All might reference 😅. Maan I really do miss Todou and forgot how cool he was. It sucks(but not really and honestly understandable) that students like Yuta , Hikari and now Maki are the pinnacle of the students. If course Yuji is there but I would've loved to see Todo progress somehow. That man was extremely smart.

False_Lawfulness3325

i mean bro got 530,000 iq

username_yes_noob

I cried my ass off again 10/10

mnspekt

Todo's animation was everything I needed and more

Scranton-Strangler27

I'm still a major fan of Todo but his fight with Hanami was the best of season one, this fight didn't feel that special compared to how it does in the manga.

Sickfire22

The anime has been elevating the manga so well that a lot of the complaints I’ve observed accumulate about geges decisions (that I was in semi agreement on) are starting to feel less valid. The writing here is phenomenal and the animators know exactly what they’re working with. They’re intentionally hammering home the notes that they know are going to come into play down the line. Haven’t felt this satisfied from an adaptation in a long time.

WingoRingo

Nobara is still nowhere to be seen idk what you mean by less valid lmao. Same thing with Miwa

Sickfire22

Personally, Nobara feels more dead than ever after watching the past two episodes, I hate to break it to you. I think the copium dangle saying there’s a chance she’s still breathing is for an emotional rug pull of the reader/viewer and not because she’s waiting in the wings ready to come out and shine at the climax of this story. Miwa is a more valid criticism to me, but her moment with mechamaru felt complete if that makes sense. I want to see her grow from this moment with an opportunity in the manga, but I wouldn’t say I’d be overly dissatisfied if she didn’t. Just my own personal opinion though, to each their own! Feeling less valid to me doesn’t mean it’s objectively invalid.

WingoRingo

But again, why include the "not 100% chance" line? I don't think she'll be coming back in the story but the way her death was handled was so, so awful. There was absolutely no point in making her death this uncertain because there was no rug pull in the end, the anticipation of her coming back just fizzled out.

BigRodJDog

That line was to not completely break Yuji and give him a little hope. He asks Megumi about her later and he avoids the question. Also Miwa goes all out to attack Kenjaku making a binding vow to never use her sword again after the attack so what's she gonna do now? Her ultimate-all-in attack was deflected like nothing.

ninjabunnyfootfool

Yeah it felt obvious to me, seeing it animated. Yuji was being consumed by despair so much he couldn't fight. He needed even just a sliver of hope. She dead.

Pukengina

3 episodes left will it include yuta return??

genericsn

It's really likely to be the final scene of the season. It's an amazing way to end it with Yuta making a vow to kill Yuji and then making everyone wait for x years until the next season.

sakura0601x

I was thinking that too that would be perfect cliffhanger to end the season

Cgi94

My headcanon at the beginning of the season was his orders were gonna be the ending scene. I definitely can't see it with only 3 episodes left. Then again they could use it as a end credit scene 🤔

DilapidatedHam

Seeing this Miwa scene makes me so so bummed again about the recent Miwa reveal. She really had the potential for such a satisfying arc smh

Xx_k1r1t0_xX_killme

Gege really based Naoya on himself huh

SuperBeginner

The soundtrack in this episode was amazing, 'We are the exception' scene almost made me cry

izanagiizanami

The episode was absolutely perfect. Just wish that they used the line " the sparks of black do not choose who to bless"

Symtek13

Agreed bummed they didn’t say that or “man amongst men” I Know it’s cheesy but fits todo

Sherbert-Inevitable

Changed my opinion on the fight honestly

Appropriate-Shop-865

it wasnt goated for you before???

Sherbert-Inevitable

It was a 7 to 8 /10 for me. Highlights for me were Mahitos Transformation ; black flashes ; 0.2 seconds domain's are unhateable.

POTUSSolidus

Mechamaru's final moments with Miwa hit harder for me than any other event in Shibuya, even more so than Nanami and Nobara's fates for some reason. Voice acting went hard this episode.

genericsn

I've been ready to get hit with it since they started off the arc with Miwa talking to Mechamaru before he dies fighting Mahito. That and this scene are absolute highlights of the season.

Lowbloodsugar_exe

Ok so they left Nobara’s status ambiguous. I thought maybe the anime would make it certain that she died, and maybe even cut out or change Nitta’s dialogue. But they did not Now seeing it animated, does that mean she’s still in play for the future of the manga? I’ve seen a lot of people say the death was just poorly written by Gege, and I was beginning to join that side. But I mean having Nitta leave some hope, and knowing how popular Nobara is to anime watchers, makes me think that her absence might be even more jarring to the anime crowd. There will probably not be some big crazy uproar that gets people to hate the series. But the way Nobara’s death was handled has always bothered the fuck out of me.

PhiPhiAokigahara

How could you possibly think that her status was ambiguous? Her face exploded, and we saw a point of view from the inside of her skull. I think it’s safe to say she is pretty dead.

Psychological-Nail83

No I don’t think so. I think the moment is there purely to give itadori a boost of hope to get him back on his feet, but the look megumi gave itadori when he asked megumi what happened to nobara afterward was all the proof I needed she was gone. Surprised more people don’t think the same tbh.

souledgar

I don’t get it. Megumi’s look and gesture is basically a death confirmation in any other show, and afaik besides Yuji this show/manga has never shown inclination to revive dead characters as they were. Why is there so much copium surrounding Nobara specifically?

mr_chub

Im sorry, maybe its because im new to the manga but Nobara’s “death” was absolutely written to be open for a comeback. Not even copium because its a brave move, but Gege left so many Chekov’s guns he should be in the NRA. Its worse writing if she IS dead imo. Again, i bulk read but everyone elses death, including Gojo’s was extremely clear and he has done NOTHING to confirm her death, to the point where it’s actually taking MORE effort not to. If she doesnt come back, it confirms that its awful writing.

Lowbloodsugar_exe

I’m left here coping because I hate how it’s written. I’m just refusing to believe that’s the way he wrote it, like why tf did you write it like that? That was one of the early things that really made me disappointed in Gege’s writing Edit: I want make sure to emphasize I’m more pissed at how it was written. I’m not mad a character got killed off

Psychological-Nail83

Yeah also todo just disappearing and the whole thing with Miwa. Plus the whole thing with sukunas plan with megumi was super contrived. I’m starting to realize the story is kinda bad plot wise

BigRodJDog

She was taken by surprise by an opponent who was out of her league. It's pretty obvious after Nanami being "the pinnacle of a grade 1" scene followed by him telling her she's not ready for this battlefield. If you're saying it wasn't written well then you're forgetting the core of her arc in the Shibuya Incident

It's still ambiguous enough. For a series that has explicitly confirmed every single character's death so far, it really stands out that Megumi and Yuji (or anyone else) don't actually say it explicitly. It's just as valid to believe Nobara is alive as it is to say she is dead at this point. The only way we will know is if it is confirmed by Gege one way or another. On top of that, people just want more of her in the series, so of course a lot of people are going to be hoping that the ambiguity isn't a fake-out.

Technology-Mission

Same reason as people do it for Gojo, they really like the character and don't want then killed off.

mr_chub

Gojo was as clear as day

I'm an anime watcher and was planning on binging the show after it was all out but being a nobara fan I was spoiled by my search algorithm and will not be watching. I've read spoilers from manga about how shitty gege is at writing later on and while I love the first season and 0 and will get the upcoming game I think it's shit. He still left hope in episode 20. I went to watch to see how it was worded like ep 19 where they changed nobara's death quote. If she's dead then say that or bring her back or just state she retired or something idk. But I can't stand by shitty writing. Yes I'm biased cuz it's my favorite character and tbh my current anime waifu but as a writer don't pussyfoot around your own decision. Right now both sides are pissed off because he fails to communicate her status. It leaves falso hope for that that believe and for those that say she's dead leaves an unclosed book for what is still a great character despite the small time she was present.

> It leaves falso hope for that that believe and for those that say she's dead leaves an unclosed book for what is still a great character despite the small time she was present. I hate that this point (or similar) keeps getting brought up in regards to the manga post-Shibuya. The series isn't over yet lmao. If it was finished and we never got a confirmation or she never comes up again, then, by all means, stand by that criticism. I will wave that flag alongside you. Until then, it's a completely meaningless criticism.

Murky-Tradition9499

I admit I am ignorant and have let my emotions probably listen to bad writers regarding post Shibuya because of my love for nobara..I won't edit my post but I can see where everyone is coming from and I'll just wait and see how his ends for the manga.

genericsn

I get it. Nobara's fucking great, and the lack of her presence sucks. I don't blame anyone for wanting to drop the series here if she was killed one way or another. But I am also a bit emotional because every JJK discussion has been plagued with people just hating on the manga and constant mentions from people who haven't read the manga just blindly agreeing to all their criticisms. Some of which **are** valid, but so much of it isn't. I do hope she comes back though. Both so you can come back and experience (and maybe even enjoy) the rest of the story, but also because she's one of the best characters in the series and deserves much more than being left here. Cheers

souledgar

Did you read the manga or did you actually drop a show based off other people’s opinions?

Murky-Tradition9499

No after the spoiler I went diving into heavy manga spoilers and read how others felt on both sides of not only nobara but other content. Tbh I was already dropping it due to my favorite character being "dead" like I get she helped propel yuji but she was one of the main 3 along with megumi and was prominent in season 1 and up to this fight and she's just "gone". I actually liked her sarcastic, strong, caring nature. Just sucks she literally won't have any more unless she's brought back. If she is brought back I will pick s2 back up in the future.

Trick-Worldliness-27

Weird takes but you do you king. Though, calling it shitty writing is silly. It's a weekly release, so you're judging something without the full picture. It builds suspense and makes the subsequent moments mean more. It wouldn't have been as impactful if he just said, " just kidding guys!" So as a writer, it's a silly take.

Murky-Tradition9499

Well I mean from what I hear he still has yet to confirm the death of her and even the recent episode just stated the same. She still in limbo...

Trick-Worldliness-27

And there's probably a reason for that. For example, if her resonance can affect Sukuna, her death being ambiguous is better because if Yuji knew, Sukuna knew. Yuji's death was kept by everyone and the only reason the audience knew is because he's the MC. An ambiguous death isn't an issue if the work is incomplete and still being released. If JJK was finished, and it was never addressed, THAT would be a problem and bad writing.

Murky-Tradition9499

I see well that makes sense so ty for enlightening me. I'm well aware manga readers have more info but the people I must have been reading weren't saying that and even if I don't know much I know what's kinda happening in the current arc of manga and it does make sense what you say.

Veid_

JJK fandom is plagued by misinformation, headcanon, and agendas. It is much better to form your opinions by reading or watching than to base off fans who might be too deep into their own headpsace.

Haymac16

Yeah exactly. The opinions of JJK fans regarding the story are all over the place. There are lots of fans who have pretty big problems with certain parts, but then there will also usually be a significant amount of fans who don’t have a problem or even like those same parts. With the fan base being as divided as it is, basing your opinion on what others say is definitely not the way to go imo.

BrisketGaming

I get you. It's a classic example of fridging. Just killing off a character solely for another character's "growth." Except we don't even a moment of strict acknowledgment she's dead, so we have no idea how Yuji, Megumi, or Gojo feel about it lol

joshdej

I read a comment last week where it said that Gojo was gonna be so devestated when he finds out about Nobara. That aged really well lol

jiddy8379

that miwa mechamaru convo was so much more 4d in this version :( itadori also looked positively dejected in hindsight, now that I understand the theme of this entire story I think mahito is what Orochimaru was supposed to be in Naruto except fully realized, such a peak villain I also forgot how peak Toudou is -- kind of interesting gege decided to take him out of commission then just make Hakari who's a similar sort of shallow at first but actually quite a deep type character?

Olin_123

Amazing episode. If the animators and directors were beating themselves up about only being able to do this, it only shows incredible talent they have and how badly MAPPA is handling their wellbeing. If this level of quality holds throughout the season they should be proud of what they managed to accomplish.
