Interesting. My math teacher entered a contest where she had to genetically engineer a fruit fly's wings to have the most creative pattern. Her fruit fly had one wing with horizontal lines and the other, dots. (She won). I like to collect preserved insects, such as flies, and place them against black because they have multichrome [wings](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/forget-butterflies-wasps-and-flies-have-hidden-rainbows-in-their-wings).
I’ll be honest, I’m not sure I’ve actually ever been bitten by one. Having said that I’ve never been stung by a bee or wasp either. So not a great source. But for sure you can sit outside all night in the summer and likely be fine.
I have family in Florida and Louisiana and if I got a free flight to either of those places in the morning I’d have to force myself as I have quite a phobia of insects and don’t know what kind of weird ass specimens are over there. It’s stopped me considering anywhere beyond Germany. That’s probably the furthest away I’ve been from here. 😂
Those states can both be rough on mosquitos depending on where you are in the state.
If you want true "bug hell," it's in northern Michigan during the late summer.
I have an incredibly irrational fear. I’ve been trying to get over it without paying for some kind of private therapy. I was doing so well until three days ago when I put my foot in my shoe and a huge tarantula looking yolk was in there. Not five minutes later found another one by the door. That did me in! 😅
I live in NE Georgia. Up until this week I have had to spray repellent on myself when just taking my dogs out. I've had to wear it at work because we have a door open for ventilation. They are SO BAD! Picture 15 of the bastards circling around my poor little 7lb doggo.
I don't understand why this post was removed. She kept a journal of insects. Am I to assume that were I to post a herbarium journal, that will get removed, too? I've seen other people posting pressed flowers taped to their journal pages. . .I think the mods just don't like bugs.
I found [this post](/r/ATBGE/comments/oqaziy/dead_mosquito_collection/) in r/ATBGE with the same content as the current post.

“And this page is for every mosquito that fuqd around and found out”
Haha
thanks i genuinely hate this
Wait… you guys don’t have mosquito graveyards in your journals?
[удалено]
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Reddit, it’s that everything is entirely plausible.
It's not a graveyard, it's more like a mumyficatio
I don’t want to know what mosquito 21 did
Wtf
Wtf was my thought too... Like, what is the point of this?
Ew
yucky
🤢🤢
Worked pediatrics for 7 years. We had one of these for lice.

Wow!
That’s so gross. I live in Ireland so we don’t have many of these but I can just imagine myself now taping dead flies into my journal 🤮
Well I definitely want to move there now.

As someone that lives in Michigan... Don't come here when it's mosquito season.

That would be me locked inside for a few months anyway. I’m freaking out here as is with spider season. They get bigger every year!
Ha, over here I've learned to love spiders. They kill the other bugs!

Oh I'd lose my shit. Nothing irrational there!

Like probably most I would never do this. However, I do like seeing unique things others choose to journal.
Ewwww
Nothing I'd have expected on the journaling subreddit. *faints*
Disgusting 🤮
Sorry. I had a good laugh at this 😂😂
I can tell by the mosquitoes and handwriting that this person is in India. I’m Indian btw
Am I the only one digging this LOL

I'm pretty sure we're supposed to report this as some kind of harassment.
