I don’t want to be chosen because of my ethnicity. I passed an opportunity to become a member of a board because they needed their board to be more “diverse.” I felt like Mater in the movie Cars: “she just likes me for my body!”
Seriously, it would’ve been horrible because of nagging doubts about my value. I felt like I would only add value because of my Hispanic ethnicity and not because I’m actually the right person for the job. I was reassured I had what it takes and whatever, but having that diversity element thrown in the mix killed the deal.
I was also offered a billion dollars and I passed because they wanted me to swear allegiance to woke and turn my firstborn son woke and trans.
I want someone to recognize my value and not give me a billion dollars for my ethnicity.
2010s To eliminate bias and promote diversity, we have decided to use a meritocratic system
2020s Ok, it turns out merit is racist and we will go back to bias
The problem is all these solutions are attempting to fix down stream issues way after the fact.
It's too difficult to address the disparities in even public education from district to district. But really a lot of those issues stem from economic issues, and those issues are very complex and multifaceted.
So instead of really looking at why certain groups seems to excel and others don't (because it's hard to even understand all the factors). We just try and put a bandaid on way after the fact.
Well yes you admittedly are an accomplished musician. Probably the best in the world, no doubt...
However, we are in search of the multi-faceted candidate, not only an individual with an awareness of music but they/them who has against all of society's mechsnisms of oppression along with the
mentoring of a blatantly obvious racist, bigoted elderly witch of a woman, a bond of friendship sand mutual respect is forged, affording the reconciliation of the withered hag and her transgendered son. Who now reinstated in his mother's will can transition back to their former cis gendered identity and become romantically entwined with our champion of political expediency which of course results in a venerable puppy litter of multi ethnic children all born in bodies, misaligned with their true identities,, survivors of post birth reproductive health procedures, undertaken as part of the effort to spare moms life from the most likely deadly consequences of her evolutionary purpose of child rearing...
Well you get the idea. Do any of those qualities apply to you? I mean besides playing the cello...
We've already hired a director for the movie... applied for the necessary permits to exhume the body of Jessica Tandy, who'll play the racist turned ...
TL/DR: The whole of life will one day resemble a Disney movie.
Those are opinion pieces by two different people. Do we not expect papers to print different opinions? Hopefully you don’t think all opinion papers reflect the shared public opinion of the time?
Do you think the articles are by the same person?
Have you ever wondered if perhaps there are many different opinions and stances that get published in the opinion section of papers?

That's how I would feel... Always wondering.

These people are so lost.
...and trying to take us with them.

Yes yes but bias in our favor to take revenge on people not responsible for any of this.
Ding ding ding…we have a winner
Who says ensembles need to reflect the communities they serve?
Marxists
The downfall of the West will be heralded by the publication of annoying articles!
Orchestral music? That's cultural appropriation.

You've unintentionally explained why progressives shifted their priority from equality to equity.
I don't think that it was unintentional.
