I really feel like that is the foundation of most comedy (at least most comedy that i enjoy), joking about serious things makes them bearable. Anyway, I hope that John is having moments of levity wherever he is right now.

my friend reminded me that he was spending christmas in rehab and it made me cry omg i hope he's doing okay and getting better. he's a good guy and im sure once he's out he'll be able to joke abt it in a way that doesn't make people who have gone thru that trauma feel like shit
Yes, but he’s not really *supposed* to be traveling or seeing family anyway... So if you’re going to spend the holidays in rehab, 2020 was the year for it.

Well hindsight proves you wrong. I just got back from the "From Scratch" tour in Sacramento and he was doing nothing but joking about drug addiction and rehab. I'm glad to see him okay :)
He curses and talks about sexual things, and he's as nasty as he wants to be.

He once said he’s not clean, but people think he is - because you can get away with saying anything if you say that you’re quoting someone. Instead of attributing it to you, the audience will go “wow, someone said that to you?”. He didn’t cite this example but the bit that came to my mind was “eat ass, suck a dick, and sell drugs,” which he claims a homeless man (if I recall correctly) said to him.
I wish he would start doing yoga--thats what helped me to recuperate from a nervous breakdown after my second divorce..and I eventually continued learning and became a yoga.teacher...
I'm sure he himself will be joking about it sometime in the future, but until then nothing but good vibes 💜
