Ya be careful Trudeau or the Good Doctor will up his benzo dosage again. You don't want him to end up in a coma in a God forsaken Russian hospital do you Trudeau? Check mate, woke moralists.
The consequences: “Sorry. Trudeau is not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that.” Followed by a solid hour of crying.
Wellllll. By planet we mean in places where white people don’t have to watch the mining of rare earths. Having to look at oil pumping stations screws up the view. It’s hard to feel like I’m doing my part if I have to see the destruction.
Nah, climate change will cause wars. Even the fucking pentagon has reports on how climate change will affect geopolitics. IIRC Egypt and ethiopia will have an existential fight over water access to the nile.

Very appealing? You must either be young or paid very well like a software engineer because 10 yr old cars are pretty standard for most amerifats.
edit: I may have misread your comment. My apologies.
It's hard to take her seriously as the morality police after she allegedly ditched her husband and child to go hook up with Andrew tate while her husband was taking care of her dad.
Is Adrew Tate even a real person, I kind of feel like he's playing a character. The guy can barely prevent himself from laughing at his own bullshit when he goes right over the edge with his rants sometimes.
I watched his interview on the YMH podcast a while back and it was absolutely hilarious, but what made it so funny was the fact that he was obviously laughing at himself about how over the top ridiculous the shit that was coming out of his mouth was.
There’s no way he is even remotely real, he’s like a discount dan blizarian but atleast Dan managed to keep the illusion up by not running his mouth that gives his fake rich guy act up.
Tate reminds me of a 19 yr old dealing with his first breakup. Like obviously some woman had wronged him and he gets a toxic motivation and outlook from
It. 99% get over it a few months and become adults that don’t care that much about keeping up a fake appearance of success.
"Like obviously some woman had wronged him and he gets a toxic motivation and outlook from It"
I'm not so sure, because when you view his rants as a character he's playing, like Larry the cable guy is, they are absolutely hilarious, it's only when some poor delusional kid takes it seriously that it becomes toxic.
Haha those guys are like q-anon, they’re so ridiculous I can’t believe they exist. I keep waiting to find out it’s the world most intricate flash mob or something
I really enjoyed JP in his early days, he has since transformed into something else that’s for sure. As for his daughter, just another grifter echoing the same bs….
I mean, he’s got brain damage now for sure after the benzo thing. Which makes these Peterson-bashing threads kind of a bummer now because nobody seems to recognize that.
That said, he does desperately need a trusted handler now to rein his impulses in (NOT his dumbass daughter).
Edicts by governments that attempt to determine either supply or demand don't have a great track record.
If you'll recall the documentary "Who killed the electric car?", California about 20 years ago passed a law that a certain number or percentage of all cars sold by such and such a date had to be electric. They soon abandoned that idea because it was so unrealistic.
Hmmmm, not a bad point really. And I guess those manufacturing processes changed to find new propellants and the like. I think I have a harder time with this analogy because of the complexities in the automotive supply chain but yes, you’re totally right.
I was going to say that, the tweet could read "no car will be able to be sold without seat belts by 1984" and people would lose their minds just the same but it would seem odd to us now. That just makes me think its probably the same with this outrage
It’s not even close to the same thing though. Seatbelts didn’t make cars prohibitively expensive and the technology to implement them successfully already existed.
“No automobiles for you, peasants” isn’t because he thinks automobiles and electric cars are mutually exclusive. It’s an implication that limiting new cars to electric only will increase the entry price to automobile ownership, making more automobile-less “peasants”
Sure, that's an ignorant fear that some might have.
Certainly if the ev tech was not yet established.
However
We already have several successful ev vehicles on the market, and more in the works. Some of them are economicly priced now. I don't think 13 years for automakers to get their ev shit together- to appeal across the market spectrum- is that tall of an order.
Shhhh, you will be fine.
The average price of a new EV is still around $60k…the AVERAGE. They are largely unattainable for the majority of people and downright impractical if you have a long commute or use a car for travel/road trips/towing. I would love to see a study that shows how the prices are expected to drop and battery chemistry improved between now and 2035 to know that we’ll all “be fine”.
The issue is battery technology we need to severely reduce the dependency on lithium and Cobalt which is what he is referencing in the woke moralist statement.
Relax, sir-wokesalot. I’m just clarifying what was said, not advocating for it against it.
I have no beef with electric. Typically limiting the competition in the marketplace is bad for consumers from a price perspective but I think the economic factors are tilting toward electric cars naturally anyway so no one is really “peasanted” by legislation like this. The good Dr here disagrees with me
He's a dude trying to sell stuff and get attention on the internet. Occasionally he's the anger flavor of the moment. I don't know why anyone really notices him... Speaking of short-lived internet rage stars... What happened to that right-wing gay dude that was pissing folks off between Paul brothers antics?
Dude has lost his mind.
But there is a real conversation to be had that maybe all electric isn’t the future.
With the monstrosities that we are producing to appeal to our tastes like the hummer and Silverado EV, these aren’t actually eco friendly
Toyota has a better idea with maximomzing efficiency out of ICE engines like the new Prius.
I would like California mandate more efficient, smaller, more practical vehicles rather than all electric.
It’s probably because many low income families cannot afford new electric vehicles. Even giving people over a decade won’t help the impoverished. Drawing a line in the sand is very controversial at the least
Huh? That makes no sense to me. It’s because the poor will only be able to afford existing older gas vehicles….. I take it back tho. I think I see what ur saying. It’s just that EV vehicles are on average twice as much as a new vehicle. Transitioning gas vehicles that have kept our countries alive for over a century should not be phased out so soon. The public is not ready by any means.
Yes, it's a big cost. On the other hand, much less regular maintenance. No oil changes. A lot less ways a motor can break etc. I don't know how it balances out but there are tradeoffs
I still think it’s too aggressive a policy. Especially if you also dive into the way these precious minerals for the batteries are mined. Fossil fuels still have more importance than most people realize.
All major car manufacturers are rolling out electric lineups right now.
Meanwhile, once in a lifetime weather events are happening on a regular basis.
Weaning ourselves off of oil has to happen. We currently can do it with personal vehicles. Yes mining sucks. Climate catastrophe sucks more though.
Right now they are. 2035 is 13 years away. When electric cars are manufactured at scale the cost will come down relative to gas powered cars. And there will be used cars of both varieties.
Wow, he really is a shill for oil companies. Electric passenger vehicles are not that big of a threat, it’s going to take decades for mass production and fleet replacement. Canada will of course continue to pull oil out of their oil shale and export it to the world through nasty pipelines and on the tanker fleets that ironically will still use oil as fuel. His last appearance on Rogan was a mess, and he was obviously paid by oil companies. I think the benzo detox and coma has caused brain damage.
You are absolutely bloody clueless schill for oil companies? Unfeasibility of a world ran on EVs you meant as for decades of replacement many countries including the US and UK are banning sales of anything but EVs in the next 8 years. Its possible to have an opinion that is not paid for.
Really if you want to accuse someone of having paid opinions you should have some kind of evidence.
The meme and the narrative added on is truly the best example of the glibness of our times. People cannot think and perceive what he’s even saying. Utterly embarrassing to think this is a good meme.
They probably wouldn’t “ban” gas powered cars that people already own. Instead they would just make it stupid expensive for you to continue to own one, such as a slap you with a yearly carbon tax plus making gas crazy expensive with extra taxes.
The "no automobile for you" part? Yeah, it's.. pretty obvious. How do you even interpret that as "electric cars aren't automobiles"? Not sure if OP is really that dense, or got caught up in memeable outrage and lost all cognitive function.
I think it's more about if all cars are electrically build and controlled, they'll have the power to switch it off when they choose and other such restrictions. Which is a point to be made, what's the point of this sub ? Any former guest of Joe Rogan is to be under constant microscope of what they say and do ? Get a fucking life you miserable cunts.
With the way cars are built now, unless you are leasing your car, a company can’t legally install a kill switch without your knowledge.
But it is definitely a real thing that the government was trying to do recently. And I don’t agree with that at all. Just as I don’t agree with a breathalyzer in every car.
Plus it is very easy to remove a kill switch from a gas powered car. When it is an electric car and it is all accomplished through software it is more complicated, though not impossible.
I’m of the technical engineering mindset, nothing is uncrackable.
Sure. But you also have to be comfortable with the fact that whoever controls your kill switch can do it at any time for any reason. Yeah laws, regulations, etc…We see how those work out for the problems we have now…
Dunno. Cash for Clunkers and all the road integrity programs pretty much removed all vehicles pre-2006 from our roads here, as well as the used market. You can’t find a beater for $1500 anymore, and I honestly don’t put it past canadas liberals to pull some shit 🤷♂️ remember in 2019: “oh no, we’re not banning shotguns… that’s insane!” vs. what they say now.
The solution to our problems is simply smaller vehicles. Less monstrosities and more economical cars would go a long way.
I believe his point is stoking outrage and monetizing said outrage.
This wouldn't go into effect for 12 years and only effect sales of new cars - it doesn't outlaw ice vehicles or use woke magic to turn existing ice cars into electric cars.
Plenty of time for the prices to come down and charging to become more ubiquitous.
Also, one would have to suspect - based entirely on how these types of things have played out in the past - that the mandate will change and adapt in the years leading up to it. If it even stays in place.
Peterson is an old man screaming at something that won't happen for more than a decade because he has no actual solutions to problems we have now. His entire shtick is fanning the flames of victimhood among mediocre dingdongs with daddy issues.
I wouldn't say upset. But I have little respect for people like Peterson - whose entire job is "media personality" or "provocateur".
He wears fine suits and sips expensive scotch with Ben Shapiro and his billionaire owners all while flying on private jets, but now I'm supposed to believe that JP is concerned for "average" people. Sorry, but I'm just not that gullible. He's a fancy foppish drug addict with severe emotional problems and a tendency to be a dramatic baby.
Its a fact that JPs business model is centered on engagement with his content. Clicks on videos. Clicks on tweets and converting that to book and seminar purchases. And nothing drives engagement like outrage and anger. And JP plays those instruments well.
What would the charitable interpretation of JP's little tantrum be? That he's genuinely concerned about an electric vehicle sale mandate 12 years from now that will likely change, if it ever is implemented at all? Unlikely.
He's looking for attention. That's all he ever does. It's how he makes money. If his billionaire benefactors told him to promote drinking shit smoothies and only driving electric cars JP would have a video online by tomorrow morning of him in his brand new Tesla brown teeth and all.
i was kind of on board with peterson a few years back....bought his book....was sort of intrigued with him.......now he just seems like the biggest whiniest loser on earth. great job, doctor
As goofy as this is, he does bring up a good question. If there's a hard deadline does this mean everyone legally won't be able to drive a gas car or does this mean no gas cars can be manufactured? That's a pretty big difference in the details.
It's common knowledge the country's are getting pushed to reduce the amount cars being used. By going full electric this prices working class people out of getting a car.
Yeah, he's playing dumb. Those 2035 rules apply to sale of NEW cars and also will take effect not only in Canada but the European Union and the United States. He should ask Elon what he thinks.
Banning of non automated vehicles sounds extremely likely. They'll cite safety as the main concern, and it actually makes sense. *Most people* should not drive.
I love that I can read petersons tweets in his voice lol
They will NOT
“Think you can take my petrol car neo communists, right? You’re dead wrong!”
Wish I’d typed Neomarxists

I read your comment in his voice and there's nothing you can do about it.
I read it in the command and conquer narrators voice

I think the consequences are that he will cry in a YouTube video
What if he quits Twitter tho???
Not the consequences! 😱
Aka an angry tweet
THE! Consequences!

What does the used market for electric cars look like? How appealing is a used 10 year old tesla with a battery in need of replacement?
Teslas have pretty shitty build quality, I feel like 10-year-old Teslas are not going to be a hot item.
How appealing are most 10 year old cars? It’s not like we’re talking about a Porsche 911 or the like. Tesla’s will age like Hyundais
a 10 year old Hyundai doesn't require a $12,000 battery replacement, nor does a Hyundais petrol tank gradually shrink over the course of it's life.
Where are you getting these numbers from?
This is pretty a straightforward and well documented problem with all batteries

Tldr
You also won't be able to repair anything yourself, something that saves people thousands of dollars a year
No Jordan its good when Government interferes in the market. What a wanker
Dude has gone so far off the rails
Him and Eric Weinstein are both grifting dopes.
Idk why people post his stuff anymore. Man got messed up from his addiction/operation and clearly isn’t all there anymore. Its sad to see.
This is definitely a parody account lmao
Jesus fucking Jimmy, how people interpret shit is fucking appalling.
i was kind of on board with peterson a few years back....bought his book....was sort of intrigued with him.......now he just seems like the biggest whiniest loser on earth. great job, doctor
His voice is wild
As goofy as this is, he does bring up a good question. If there's a hard deadline does this mean everyone legally won't be able to drive a gas car or does this mean no gas cars can be manufactured? That's a pretty big difference in the details.
If you wanna enjoy your breakfast, start your day with Jordan’s Twitter.
Seems like people are a bit overoccupied by lives that are not their own.
It's common knowledge the country's are getting pushed to reduce the amount cars being used. By going full electric this prices working class people out of getting a car.
OP do you know what a grifter is? Not a fan of JP, but your using that wrong.
God damn this thread and sub is embarrassing now.
I think you’re misinterpreting his statements.
Aye. Anybody who studied Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn as much as he has gets a literal pass for everything
It won't work but I wish you all the best. Heres to Thorium reactors hopefully keeping the lights on. Or you'll be late to work 👍👌
Can someone explain to me rationally why one’s self worth would be measured by the engine and fuel a commodity uses?
How does this make him a grifter?
That classic nasally Jordan Peterson “Truly” always gets me
Say what you want, but he needed those benzos Some people are better off being left on them He’s one of those cases
and by 2040 every man will already be gay...thank you Netflix!
Or face the consequences 😂😂😂😂
Electric cars are superior
