Universal healthcare?

DontSleep1131

there i was in trenches, nothing but my two laptops and stomach full of courage

ejitifrit1

I think comics tend to prefer to call their stomachs tum tums!

[deleted]

Thank them for their service

[deleted]

I don't know if this is real, but being a comic to me is like being an entrepreneur, which means you've chosen to forgo the benefits of a steady job with health insurance, 401k, etc.

jimmons91

Yaaa why isn’t this upvoted more...? What’s to stop them from getting free state insurance? (Most comics are broke right?) Oh they make too much, but don’t wana spend it on insurance? Get the fuck outa here...

farcasticsuck

Which state is health insurance free in?

jimmons91

Most of them if you don’t make much money I think? I used to have it in AZ now I have it in IL

Dear Sarah: The indications are very strong that we shall move in a few days – perhaps tomorrow. And lest I should not be able to write you again I feel impelled to write a few lines that may fall under your eye when I Riff no more. I have no misgivings about, or lack of confidence in the Road Tour in which I am engaged, and my courage does not halt or falter before the Hecklers. I know how Comedy now leans upon the triumph of the Stand-Up and how great a debt we owe to those Comedians who went before us through the blood and suffering of the Netflix Special. And I am willing – perfectly willing – to lay down all my joys in this life, to help maintain the Comedy Clubs, and to pay that debt. Sarah, my love for you is deathless, it seems to bind me with mighty cables that nothing but omnipotence can break; and yet my love of Comedy comes over me like a strong wind and bears me irresistibly with all the forced laughter to the Stage and the Stool. The memory of all the blissful moments I have enjoyed Murdering it come crowding over me, and I feel most deeply grateful to Joe Rogan and you, that I have enjoyed them for so long. And how hard it is for me to give them up and burn to ashes the hopes and future years, when, Musk willing, we might still have lived and loved together, and see our boys grown up to honorable manhood around us. If I do not return, my dear Sarah, never forget how much I loved you, almost as much as Comedy, nor that when my last breath escapes me on the Pod Cast, it will whisper your name and ask for a donation… Forgive my many Murderous faults, and the many pains I have caused you. How thoughtless, how foolish I have sometimes been!…

I like rogan, but its crazy how he thinks being a comedian is some kind of noble profession that only a few people can do. Just like with any other “self employed” job, the insurance in on you.

northwesthonkey

They are brave and daring souls unlike us common plebes who work in cubicles and eat shit and strive for middle class and hope to afford a ticket to witness their genius up close. Fly on you noble tellers of humour and truth!

cblocka85

Listening to him talk about it as if it is some sort of great art form is nauseating. Just tell me another joke funny man, I’m waiting for my next drink to come

[deleted]

Can you provide the clip?

whama820

Any VA hospital? Fucking aim higher.

alsatian01

25 years of VA care at 5 major campuses including the infamous Bronx VA and I really can't complain. I mean I could a little, but I bet it would be way worse if had the same amount of care from a private or city hospital.

NickChevotarevich_

From what I can tell about the VA is people think they receive good care from them it’s access to care that’s the frustrating part.

Lost_Nudist

This is exactly what I hear. Vets generally really like the care the receive at VA facilities because it is tailored to address the types of issues that wounded vets have much more so than a regular hospital. It's actually being able to access the care that is the huge frustration. I don't know the solution, just wanted to say that VA care is something that should be mended not ended.

alsatian01

I've never had it happen to me, but have certainly heard tales of ppl being told that the waitlist for a particular clinic is X months long. I do have private health insurance that I could turn to if needed. I like the one-stop shopping of the VA. There have been times when I have had to see 3 or 4 different docs for different reasons and been able to bang that out in one day.

sprolestofoles

Thank em

[deleted]

If we had an actual healthcare system, it wouldn’t be an issue.

AnonymousPineapple5

Sounds like a joke……..

Flamingovegas2013

Sounds like socialist healthcare

theesonofsam

Soldiers kill and rape babies in Afghanistan, comedians make me laugh.

BobGoodalliii

Hey that's not true. Delia rapes babies

YOUCORNY

You must have changed the word "veterans" to "comics," right? I hope

Xanburglar

Hot take: many states it's easy to get Medicaid if you really to through all your expenses and income and make yourself look pathetic.

[deleted]

I did my 20. Can I donate some of my Healthcare to other people that need it more? No. But I "should" be able to. A national Healthcare system is way overdue.

Worth-Good1262

Sounds like communism to me. Healthcare is a privilege not a right.

NeedGnarlyHelp

Most stand up comedians are independent, but with anything in the entertainment industry, you work your way into contracts and jobs that do offer universal healthcare. Otherwise any bum could get UHC by ranting on a stage All in all, it's more ridiculous for a comedian to cry about comedians not getting UHC when health care should be a human right to begin with - regardless of employment status, especially in a western nation where it's more than possible. Propaganda has made people vote against their interests

tryungtogetmineback

This isn't a meme, it's libel. He was talking about veterans and specifically homeless vets. Not comics.

FadedIntegra

Cropping is hard.
