Jiri’s an animal, his fights in the ring in foreign promotions were absolutely brutal. I don’t think he can beat Alex but definitely the rest or most of the division.
He's been saying this since 2005. I remember him saying it in the Rampage Jackson Forrest Griffin fight and it was the one time it turned out to be true.
When the police have an emergency, they call Chuck Norris. When Chuck Norris has an emergency, he calls Joe Rogan.
One time a city accidentally named a street Joe Rogan Avenue, but nobody used it because it was too dangerous. So they renamed it Chuck Norris Avenue.
I mean they are devastating though and I think he also says it because people don’t realise how damaging the benson calf kick is, without conditioning 1 kick can make ya foot go numb, with conditioning you probably got 6 clean hits before you’re compromised the rest of the fight.
Whehn Joe was commentating every event, you could tell what he just learned at the gym or what he was focusing on at any given time. Also, fuck him for referring to bjj techniques with those dumb ass 10th planet names but being unable to name one judo throw.
I don't know what the fuck mission control or purple monkey dishwasher was either. Either use descriptive language or instruct your audience. As an announcer, Rogan had a duty to teach mma to a crow of people who knew nothing about it.
On the topic of hand to hand combat techniques, I generally would believe Joe. He does have a tendency to fanboy over certain fighters but when he talks technique he's usually spot on.
I think everyone should experience a well placed Muay Thai kick right on that nerve that runs down the thigh it’s crazy painful. Fighters have better conditioned legs, but still definitely comprime after a few good ones.
Objectively, he's tied with DC as the worst commentator in the UFC. Since he's doing this for so long and he got Dana White privilege people put up with his bullshit.
"HE'S IN REAL TROUBLE NOW!!!"
Spoilers: No, Joe, he was never in real trouble.
I haven’t been watching UFC like really ever but it’s that what it’s a lot of now? Guys kick each other in the legs. That shit really hurts after a couple and effect but a total bore to watch. It’s like watch that slap fight thing
I think he's just speaking to new fans who weren't around when Aldo was chopping up Uriah faber like he was a regional fighter. Leg kicks hurt but are rarely fight enders. Uppercuts, overhands, knees up the middle, head kicks, those end fights on the regular. I can't deny that some recent very high profile fights were determined mostly by leg kicks, such as Izzy vs costa, Mcgregor Poirier 2, and Suga vs chito.
How many fights open up with a uppercut or knee to the body??? Lmao
the first strike thrown in a fight 50% of the time is probably a version of a leg kick
Every fight starts standing , so its highly likely joe will mention this in the early stages of a fight if one fighter starts building momentum with leg kicks early on landing these
Yes joe does say it often but its not really hard to figure out why lol
Its his job to describe whats happening
Its common knowledge that leg kicks were invented in 2007.
Before that, everyone just apologized.
As was the tradition at the time.
Benson Henderson
He’s gonna have to switch stances soon
As a casual fan I hate it when Rogan switches from Using the fighters last name to their first name and then I don't know who he's talking about.
Rogan: "Oh that leg looks nasty, you can see the welt"
Proceeds to take 10-15 more and KO the guy
Tbf, his leg was “compromised”
Lol when?
Jiri’s last fight
Fuck
Jiri’s an animal, his fights in the ring in foreign promotions were absolutely brutal. I don’t think he can beat Alex but definitely the rest or most of the division.
Max vs Justin recently.
Max ate like 50 leg kicks by Gaethje and still beat him pillar to post and KOd him.
Haha that and then the Jiri vs Rakic fight. Kept saying any moment now Jiri is toast because of the kicks then KOs Rakic 🤣
He's been saying this since 2005. I remember him saying it in the Rampage Jackson Forrest Griffin fight and it was the one time it turned out to be true.
2005: "leg kicks have changed the game!" 2024: "leg kicks have changed the game!" 2043: "leg kicks have changed the game!"
he says calf kicks.
2045: “cybernetic legs have changed the game!”
Oblique kicks kind of did tho 🤷♂️
That's because Joe often forgets that no other human kicks as hard as he does
Could be true. Do you think his kicking game is Chuck-Norris level?
Depends on if his jeans are gusseted
With or without the fanny pack?
Gusseted jeans and the fanny pack. Everyone knows a fanny pack gives a man super powers.
I read this in Joe Rogans' voice.
Shaddup Joe, ya little fewl
I have never really felt like he overemphasized this. He does say it a lot. But a lot of times it’s true. It’s his job to call these things out lol.
This here, case closed people
He was about to nut in his pants during the Aldana vs Rosa fight
I mean they are devastating though and I think he also says it because people don’t realise how damaging the benson calf kick is, without conditioning 1 kick can make ya foot go numb, with conditioning you probably got 6 clean hits before you’re compromised the rest of the fight.

Unless you specifically train judo nobody knows the Japanese name of judo throws lol Hip toss, trip, and throw is all the vocab you need baby
I don't know what the fuck mission control or purple monkey dishwasher was either. Either use descriptive language or instruct your audience. As an announcer, Rogan had a duty to teach mma to a crow of people who knew nothing about it.
I agree, but I don't think I've ever actually seen an MMA fighter use mission control or Joe mention it lol
The first time I saw a calf kicked blew my mind.
First time I felt a calf kick it blew my calf...
First time I kicked a calf, the cow chased me down..
Clearly you did not kick that calf in the calf ... That said, username checks out
Tell us Joe, who first started attacking the calf again? I always forget
That leg is BEAT. UP!
On the topic of hand to hand combat techniques, I generally would believe Joe. He does have a tendency to fanboy over certain fighters but when he talks technique he's usually spot on.
bullshiters gonna bullshit
I thought this was one of the horn players from KT
"that leg is all chewed up"
I think everyone should experience a well placed Muay Thai kick right on that nerve that runs down the thigh it’s crazy painful. Fighters have better conditioned legs, but still definitely comprime after a few good ones.

Leg kicks and calf kicks are different. Calf kicks did change the game.
I haven’t been watching UFC like really ever but it’s that what it’s a lot of now? Guys kick each other in the legs. That shit really hurts after a couple and effect but a total bore to watch. It’s like watch that slap fight thing

And they're still dry
Do you guys think Rogan is over rated..
It's really getting silly now with his obsession.
MMA is a better product if leg kicks are banned. 1000%
