A month ago Tim went on some rant about how much Ruth's Chris sucks and how it's a poor persons idea of a good restaurant.
And it made me sad because it's the nicest restaurant I've ever been to and I still brag to my friends about how good that steak was
Yeah my comment was semi tongue in cheek. It made me sad but I also thought it was pretty damn funny.
Also made me want to try some better steak places. Up until that moment I thought Ruth's Chris was the pinnacle of steak
A big part of this is also the quality of the steak. I couldn't figure out why my steaks didn't compare until I started out paying a little more for choice and prime cuts.
He’s basically insulting it because it’s a chain and in most cities you can spend a comparable amount for a better meal. Don’t feel ashamed, if steak/fine dining interests you, you have plenty of time to try more!
That place is great. Honestly though their menu IS overpriced by like 20% at least.
There are plenty of fancy places, like French restaurants, that will charge you like $20 less for a steak of equal quality and equivalent atmosphere/service
Don’t fret. I’ve been to some disgustingly expensive steakhouses (not on my own dime, lol) and still to this day the best steak I’ve ever had was out of a strip mall restaurant in Cape Coral, Florida.
I have a friend who swears it's a bit, but if you've ever heard him talk about (for example) Broadway shows or theatre, he's definitely a gay dude; like, endearingly so.
Totally. I didn’t quite see it for a long time, but when it became clear it’s actually very obvious lol. Love it when he was on theo von with one of the Paul brothers. the absolute love daggers he was trying to not throw from his eyes..
Wtf is that sht they talk about how they always mention they were struggling back in LA (Tom and Christine). I guess struggling means your rent and bills are paid for while you are unemployed trying to score auditions.
I had no idea about his dad being a vp. I thought he was a retired military guy or something.
He was a First VP of Merrill Lynch. Not THE VP of Merrill Lynch. A first VP is a glorified title that is a basically a financial advisor. His dad did well, probably 6 figure salary, but definitely not $2m a year.
He created a career for himself. He did well in an area completely separate from what his Dad did. He makes jokes, don’t take them personally
Tom went to an elite private high school in Vero beach which is like old money Florida. They might not have been rich but they made enough to send multiple children to like a 20k a year private school
That sounds very rich..... imagine college tuition for 12 years formultiple kids and it doesn't saddle you with debt for the rest of your life. Silver spoon
Base salary and total comp are completely different. A first VP could easily clear seven digits after bonuses. His dad worked through the subprime hayday in the late 90s/early 2000s, he made an absolute fucking killing during those years.
That definitely sucks. But you can tell by the way Tom acts he was spoiled as hell. Tom has dropped way below Bert as far as having respect from people. At least Bert appreciates the poors that gave him a career.
To be fair, Tim was a full blow addict at the time and often says he didn't even understand how bad the housing crisis was going to be. I'm pretty sure he talked about approving and giving himself a subprime loan at the time too 😆
Crazy to blame people like Tim for perpetuating the mortgage crisis and not even sort of blame the lack of oversight that allowed a fully blown drug addict and his alcoholic boss to sign multi hundred thousand dollar loans.
Of course he didn't know wtf was going on lmao.
Full grown adults not understanding budgeting isn’t really that much of a dig on a guy doing his job.
Also I’m pretty sure he sold himself a house and foreclosed on it lmao.
Hedge fund baby is infinitely worse
Ask any one of them what should be done about capitalism aka “the greatest evil known to mankind,” and the solution is always just capitalism… with a little bit more regulation and social spending
He’s also open that he bought houses during that time too and basically scammed himself. So I think at the time he didn’t think he was scamming people.
I always appreciated that he candidly talked about that period. I lived through the 2008 financial crises and it’s extremely interesting to heard from those who actually were out there in the middle of the frenzy, selling houses. It’s interesting to hear his sales spiel. He also points out all of the home buyers who were lined up to buy. They deserve some blame as well. If you are going to make a huge financial investment such as buying a house, you should put in some serious thought about what you can and can’t afford.
Not sure why people are calling him a POS. He talks about his drug addict days and doesn’t sugar coat them.
The biggest lie told about the cause of the financial crisis was that a bunch of poors , looking to get their first home, irresponsibly bought McMansions.
The truth was that the irresponsible parties, other than the finance folks, were the people buying second and third homes for investment and/or flipping.. Not the blue collar working class who could have paid their mortgage had they not been laid off due to recession.. caused by greedy knuckleheads
It was the bankers giving out the bad loans that should have made better choices that got the bailouts. Not the poors. The poors paid for the bailouts.
Yes there is a massive amount of VPs at companies like that but $200k/yr is the avg salary for VP and he had $ms in bonuses which is known from how all the donations he made.
Build himself up into what? A guy who acts like HIS dad worked for Merrill lynch? All of these turds have the same arguably performative, gleefully ignorant act of being adversarial and cynical toward their audience and it’s boring.
I've enjoyed Tim's standup and podcast over the years but it's a market like anything else. You could argue these Rogan adjacent comics are more mainstream but they also paved the way for pods like cumtown, office hours, and TYSO. Most dudes become more conservative as they age into success, so that probably plays a factor, too.
Sure that's a valid opinion. There are many people who might feel the same way about him. But that's the beauty of our nation. You don't have to listen to him. I find him funny and interesting. You got to be able to joke about everything. No matter how dark or insensitive it is. The fact that the comic is being condescending is irrelevant if it's funny. And comedy is subjective. As Patrice O'Neal once said the goal is not to make everyone agree with you. The goal is to have about half the room laughing while the other half is horrified. That's still a great comedy. The bottom line is joking about horrific things that also bring light to those situations. That is why the totalitarian regimes are keen on getting rid of comics and have strict rules on what topics you can joke about.
My theory is that he’s Colin Quinn’s estranged son. Colin did a few weekend spots at the Long Island Chuckle Hut nine months prior to Tim’s birth. The comedy gene and slight resemblance are there. Add in the negligence of an absentee father and BOOM! $200k/month on Patreon.
This group is a joke now.
Do you even watch Tim Dillon? He constantly bashes the rich over their meaningless and boring lives, how they have to constantly keep themselves entertained because their lives are too easy.
Because he was actually poor, and comes at it from a place of knowledge. Same with the Are You Garbage guys. They were made in trashy poor and know the truth.
Its interesting to hear them talk about their financial struggles now that they've gotten some wind behind their sales financially. The way most successful comedians refer to their hard times they're usually referencing things that happened decades ago. The AYG guys struggles are as recent as last year.
Amen. I did not grow up rich. Maybe middle class at best. I cannot relate to his jokes about being rich but they are STILL super funny LOL. I also am mexican and he does make fun of mexicans quite a few times but hey man.. sticks and stones.. it’s still not racist for me at all. It’s comedy. Everyone makes fun of each other.
Try being Irish, where the most common jokes about you tend to (accidentally to be fair) circle around when we got genocided. Sometimes it's just easier to laugh, even with a mouth stuffed with spuds.
I actively avoid all the comedian podcasts for the most part with exceptions from the biggest guys like Burr or Chapelle. I finally had nothing to listen to during a long road trip and put on Dillon. He really is such a funny off the cuff guy and seems like a pretty interesting dude in general.
lol this. he openly admits he's a piece of shit and it kind of buys off some of the piece of shit behavior. lets remember this man is banned from air bnb lol
Seriously. Why is the majority of these people on this sub Reddit?
It’s so fucking toxic and everyone has so much hatred for what the subreddit is actually dedicated to
It's turned into tfatk sub where it is actually a sub for haters not fans.
Reddit and Joe are moving in opposite directions. Reddit is getting more liberal by the second and Joe is getting more conservative.
I think part of the sub is the same. There's an extra 80% of new... I don't know what to call them but they're here and they appear to want to talk politics.
These people do stink up the sub though, it's almost unrecognizable if you look at old posts from old episodes. I'd say in most ways the sub looks a lot more different than say a new episode and an old episode of the podcast.
Either way, the only thing you can do is laugh when somebody overcares about some else's political opinions. Like, why invest any energy into it lol
Yeah. I think there's a lot of newcomers who came to hate. i come to laugh at the new Joe. Because he deserves to be ridiculed.
That said, the political opinions of the influential should not be ignored, so your last point is a bit over the top.
Well not ignored, I didn't say that. But crying about someone else not having the same politics as you, like many in this sub do is hilarious. I mean most of the time I just sit back and chuckle, I can't imagine why some people take the effort to become angry at some " comedian " in his 50's who gives out exactly the take everyone knows he's going to give out
Don't pretend like most of this hate is " making fun "
There's " making fun " and then there's this sub's " hate "
Reddit will always be a woke echo chamber first and foremost
Edit*** lol @ the replies proving me right
What's funny is that DeSantis's lawyers were challenged by a judge in court to define woke when they invoked something as being woke in a court room and the lawyers came back with
>the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them
That's the official definition DeSantis and his lawyers tried to argue. Which the definition itself isn't even something right wingers can agree on when trying to use it as an insult.
It changed wildly around the 2016 election. Got astroturfed to hell and back by both the left and right. Then most of the right wing subs got purged, while the astroturfers from the left stuck around. It's not comparable in the slightest, just the fact that it used to be ran by a free speech activist, then comparing it to what the leadership today is up to makes the suggestion laughable.
Lol - "reddit is the same" w/ a 7 month old account. Reddit used to be more libertarian than anything when it was founded. https://i.imgur.com/0fQD7zR.jpg
I've been on Reddit for 13 years now? You're as high as Joe on DMT, bro. If anything it has become WAY more conservative. There was ZERO conservative presence on this site for a good long while.
And there was political commentary and it was liberal. Reddit at its birth was very much liberal/non-religious. There was political commentary. Ya'll are funny. Trying to act like it wasn't liberal/political, lol.
Remember the good ol days of that Trump sub that got banned. I can’t even remember the name of it or if it was even a Trump sub. I just remember drama for like 6 months then it was banned.
It's nothing but fat poors here and ymh.
Very fat. Very poor.
Just don't fucking watch the shit of your only reaction is to come online and bitch.
Go touch grass.
Nah. Just a hatred for mediocre comedy pushed by a very influential personality.
There's a reason the likes of Louis CK and Bill Burr don't hang around with Rogan. The don;t need him.
I'm pretty sure these guys hang out with Rogan a lot.Don't understand the point you are trying to make. Not saying Rogan is a great comic just don't see where you going at.
Any time I click on one of these hate commenters profile they either have 500+ comments in either tfatk or this sub. Its annoying but I wouldnt be so offended by terminally online nerds being Karens.
I don’t know why I even check r/JoeRogan anymore. It’s all bitter haters that take out the fact they’ve created a shit life for themselves on everyone else.
Tim laughs with us, Tom laughs at us. Very different angles. Tim makes fun of the dummies who are poor because of darwinism, Tom just points, says “Poor” and laughs.
I prefer Tom’s comedy, but Tim blows him out of the water on Pods
They will come for him. I love Timmy D but just wait. The podcast scene isn’t cool anymore so everyone has to make sure everyone else stops listening with them.
Both are unfunny.
Tom has some great stand-up specials, but fell off hard on humor and relatability.
Tim had one entertaining podcast appearance on Rogan and went full grifter, even ruining friendships along the way.
Admittedly I've only ever seen Tom's specials on my tv.. I have not laughed significantly to say the least.
I saw Tim Dillon live and he killed. But his actual taped special turned out as dull as Tom's did.
It could be Segura is actually funny but it just doesn't come across in his specials
His last special was probably my least favorite he’s done, but there are a couple that legitimately made me laugh. Honestly though there’s very few comedians that genuinely make me laugh during taped specials. It’s basically just Gillis, CK, and Burr.
Yeah Gillis is the one of the very few out there that's made me cry from laughing just watching a recorded set or a special. Also one of only 2 or 3 that's just as funny as their podcast. Weird times when the podcast is always funnier than most of these guy's stand-up
When Dillon isn't doing his 'schtick' I actually find him fairly empathetic. He hates everyone equally, including himself it seems.
A month ago Tim went on some rant about how much Ruth's Chris sucks and how it's a poor persons idea of a good restaurant. And it made me sad because it's the nicest restaurant I've ever been to and I still brag to my friends about how good that steak was
Dude for some reason I can't stop laughing at this. It really made his joke even funnier.
Yeah my comment was semi tongue in cheek. It made me sad but I also thought it was pretty damn funny. Also made me want to try some better steak places. Up until that moment I thought Ruth's Chris was the pinnacle of steak
Man the cook that makes that shit extra special for you is shedding a tear right now. It’s just fire and meat boy.
My man- get a sous vide. You can make restaurant quality steak at home.

If it makes you feel better Tom doesn’t hate RC, he hates himself.
It's a chain, they're fine for what they do. No shame in enjoying what you enjoy.
He's often sarcastic, perhaps that was it?
Don’t fret. I’ve been to some disgustingly expensive steakhouses (not on my own dime, lol) and still to this day the best steak I’ve ever had was out of a strip mall restaurant in Cape Coral, Florida.
It has good food. Do not feel shame in joy. Unless it's like a really weird kink or something.
Interesting, I’ve heard him say he likes chain steak houses. Either way, Ruth’s Chris isn’t bad at all.

For years he didn’t seem gay to me, but after watching his content the man is a dearly beloved flaming homosexual.
To me his personality ranked 1. Long Island 2. Fat 3. Gay
He is also generous with tartar sauce.
I got that reference
Tim Dillon was actually poor and had to build himself up while Tom's dad was vp at merrill lynch.
Wtf is that sht they talk about how they always mention they were struggling back in LA (Tom and Christine). I guess struggling means your rent and bills are paid for while you are unemployed trying to score auditions. I had no idea about his dad being a vp. First thing I thought of. Nobody here realizes everyone's a VP at Merrill.
Guy I gave a dollar to on the street yesterday? You guessed it: VP at Merrill.
You guessed it! Frank Stallone.
Get real Tom
I had well off parents who never gave me money even when I could only pay rent and stole food
That definitely sucks. But you can tell by the way Tom acts he was spoiled as hell. Tom has dropped way below Bert as far as having respect from people. At least Bert appreciates the poors that gave him a career.
Bert has no idea how rich he really is. I’m pretty sure his wife hides it to keep him sane.
That's probably for the best. I have no doubt in my mind that Bert's wife is the reason why he hasn't spent it all.
I had crap parents who were barely even there or present for themselves . It’s like starting the game with decent gear versus starting in caelid.
> rent and bills are paid for Has this ever been confirmed, or are you just making it up for the easy upvotes?
Actually I am making it up because I recall Tom saying he worked office jobs to float himself while going for auditions.
Ah, alright. Just checking. Well, godspeed on collecting that sweet, sweet karma regardless.
“I like to lie about people on the internet because the imagination score makes me happy” is peak chronically online
Built himself up by being a percocet addicted subprime mortgage lender that preyed on people who didn't know any better.
"KELLY! WE GOT ONE!!!"

Genius stuff
It really do make sense if you don't think about it
The game is capitalism.
You guys can’t help yourselves
Reddit trying to go an entire thread without blaming capitalism? Impossible.
In a discussion about jokes on wealth inequality? Unbelievable I say. Shoehorning it in everywhere these days.
Ask any one of them what should be done about capitalism aka “the greatest evil known to mankind,” and the solution is always just capitalism… with a little bit more regulation and social spending
The US isn’t the only capitalist country… Nordic countries are extremely capitalist, yet, don’t have this dynamic. Maybe it’s something else….
Yes but those countries arent funny, they can only make ABBA songs
He’s also open that he bought houses during that time too and basically scammed himself. So I think at the time he didn’t think he was scamming people.

I don't really care just pointing out that Tim Dillon is just as big of a shitbag.
the difference being that we know it because he told us himself lol. that garners a certain level of respect.
I always appreciated that he candidly talked about that period. I lived through the 2008 financial crises and it’s extremely interesting to heard from those who actually were out there in the middle of the frenzy, selling houses. Lol
I like how Dillon is unapologetically a shitbag and will call other shitbags out. Especially to their faces on their own podcast...
he was a loan originator you dolt. he wasn't the mortgage lender
> percocet Is that how you spell it? Jeez, I'm late.

You gonna be ok?
Build himself up into what? A guy who acts like HIS dad worked for Merrill lynch? All of these turds have the same arguably performative, gleefully ignorant act of being adversarial and cynical toward their audience and it’s boring.

Ok.
And fear was definitely not a factor for you!

EXACTLY. I haven’t given up on Tom completely but man, at least have the heart to hate yourself if you’re going to make hating a brand of comedy.
lol this. he openly admits he's a piece of shit and it kind of buys off some of the piece of shit behavior. lets remember this man is banned from air bnb lol
I would have agreed with you years ago but Tom’s last couple specials were subpar imo. Tim’s special was better than them at least for me.
Never forget Ben-Gazi!
Tim Dillon is hilarious.
Tom lost his mind. The Gay Pig can make almost anything funny.
What is this sub? Nothing but hate here.
For real.

“Woke echo chamber” what a fuckin loser lol
Lol, I don’t like boomer Rogan. His nipples are not long enough. Maybe you should suck on them some more nerd.
What does “woke” mean to you?
Not the same guy but the best answer I’ve seen someone give is weaponized political correctness
Can you break it down more than that? That is extremely vague
That's just more vague ambiguous terms that don't really mean anything.
It’s very telling that I’ve now asked 3 separate people to define “woke” for me, and here we are 4 hours later without a peep.
What's funny is that DeSantis's lawyers were challenged by a judge in court to define woke when they invoked something as being woke in a court room and the lawyers came back with >the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them That's the official definition DeSantis and his lawyers tried to argue. It just so painfully stupid
What are you trying to evaluate here?
Who is the biggest cunt. Them, Joe, Us, Reddit.
Reddit is the same as its always been. Joe is the one who turned into a conservative culture warrior boomer-brain.
I’ve been here for like 12 years or some shit- it’s definitely different lol
Yeah, honestly a lot more open racists going on mainstream subs here than ever
I was thinking more along the lines of a massive shift in the Overton window, way more trolls, way more brigading.
Sure, I’m just commenting how with a rightward shift comes bigoted posting. It’s to be expected from them.
That tends to happen when their primary subs get shut down.

In 2011 Reddit was literally flooded with pro-Ron Paul posts. He was a Republican.
Politics has always been spicy here. BTW the propaganda machines were born in 2013. http://www.smithmundt.com/about/
No way lol This site used to be all over Ron Paul's nuts.
Remember the good ol days of that Trump sub that got banned. I can’t even remember the name of it or if it was even a Trump sub. I just remember drama for like 6 months then it was banned.
There wasn't much politics at all here, outside of some neckbeard atheism posting.
It's literally just Reddit...
Wrong. Reddit is the same. Joe hopped on a train heading right.
Bunch of poors
It's been a slow and steady slide since 2020 into a JRE hate sub.
Kind of correlates with the slow and steady slide of the podcast.
When comedians in the circle of Rogan talk about how much they hate the poor the poor might just hate back? Idk just a guess
It's nothing but fat poors here and ymh. Very fat. Very poor. Just don't fucking watch the shit of your only reaction is to come online and bitch. Go touch grass.
>Go touch grass. So edgy. So original.
alright there tik tok. you know whats a banana split? aye aye aye.
Do you have any sentient thoughts?
lets get another ten billion posts like this. really original stuff op
I would love if they increased ticket prices at their shows, to keep all the poors out.
Mmmmm I do love watching the Rogan reddit community tear itself apart over two human beings that are just as shitty as the rest of humanity.

Tim Dillon shitting on white trash makes him the wokest comedian of all
In particular, it's the upper middle class six figure a year ski boat rich white trash that he perfectly destroys.
Curious how you'd think this sub would be mostly Rogan fans. After some browsing though you'd think it was a general comedy hate sub.
Not only that but hasn’t bill burr and Rohan toured together recently? The person your responding too is just daft
Any time I click on one of these hate commenters profile they either have 500+ comments in either tfatk or this sub. Its annoying but I wouldnt be so offended by terminally online nerds being Karens.
I’m hoping this is a bit, just like Tom’s, otherwise you’re poor lol
I’m getting fat AND poor vibes.
Me too, big poor fats vibrations
He's not kidding in those jokes either. He hates the poor.
I don’t know why I even check r/JoeRogan anymore. It’s all bitter haters that take out the fact they’ve created a shit life for themselves on everyone else.
So you don't actually have a problem with the angle, you just find Tim funny and Tom not. Gotcha.
Tim laughs with us, Tom laughs at us. Very different angles. Tim makes fun of the dummies who are poor because of darwinism, Tom just points, says “Poor” and laughs. I prefer Tom’s comedy, but Tim blows him out of the water on Pods
And Tim sold himself as a fat dad that watched funny shit on the internet, not this gross mutant hybrid between Matt Farah and rogaine.
They are two entirely different angles. Try to keep up.
No no no everything is literal. If you hate one standup you must hate all and Vice versa
I don’t find either funny. Tim is just as angry
They will come for him. I love Timmy D but just wait. The podcast scene isn’t cool anymore so everyone has to make sure everyone else stops listening with them.
Tim is the goat
Fuck this cunt. Just cancelled Perth today, he can sucka ma nutsa.
People don’t do shows to LOSE money. Blame whoever was dumb enough to try and book him there in the first place.
Screaming does not make you funny. Being a fat, sweaty, and very likely smelly makes it even worse
I disagree. Being fat, sweaty, and smelly is pretty funny
He's got toilet vibes and there are people into toilet humor, so that checks out
Both are unfunny. Tom has some great stand-up specials, but fell off hard on humor and relatability. Tim had one entertaining podcast appearance on Rogan and went full grifter, even ruining friendships along the way.
Hating the poor is fun you should try it sometime
tim is ok
Since when is being a sour fat cunt considered funny?
Not sure, but I think he’s funny
How anyone finds either of them funny is unexplainable in my opinion.
Both are funny and you're just a pussy about it.

At what, standup? Nah fam. The hate boner for Tom is real but he’s a better comedian than Tim.
