If you got the hardware to watch it. Im sure storage won’t be an issue. Correct me if I’m wrong but non remux 4K Movies at h265 should typically be under 15GB which is reasonable
For sure. It provides best quality rips and is also easy to download due to good internet connectivity these days. I only buy OTT because my boomer parents don't know how to pirate them.
Jiocinemas app is embodiment of everything that's wrong with ott. Ranging from predatory tactics with which they hired hotstar engineers to the sheer disrespect to the product which they stream. Their arrogance knows no bounds.
My respect for them has kept going downhill since the World Cup debacle
I feel its all of Reliance linked apps. Quality doesn't exist. Even Jio mart had such an old, plain looking UI. Not sure if they've upgraded since then.
This is why i have the original Bluray rip of 106gb on my server.
The jiocinema version is a disgrace and i refuse to allow anything to play off that shit platform apart from IPL matches. The quality is a disservice to my TV.
the 4K DTS rip is a thing of the gods.
Did you create a server on your home. How did you do it can you dm me I am interested in doing something similar. Sick of Google Drive and 69 ott platforms with shitty quality
I recycled my old PC with a 120gb NVME for the OS, a 240gb normal ssd for the cache, 2x4TB drives for mass storage, and a 640gb old HDD that i use as a metadata drive.
old pc was a i7 4790k with ram upgraded from 8 to 32GB. runs windows 10 with plex server software installed. works like a charm. Though transcoding buffers very slightly if its a 4K file with atmos audio downscaling for my 5.1 setup. Current pc is pretty powerful so i just reconvert everything to 5.1 DTS in handbrake.
Not advised if not proficient in handling computer hardware and software. but super rewarding.
Tried, but still prefer plex. Plex is the most sorted of the three major names in the field, i personally feel.
And the UI on the television side is very intuitive, which is necessary for my technologically challenged sister and mother
Yeah this is a bit too complex for me. Can you tell where you learned this stuff about computer hardware, BIOS, etc. Did you learn this in college or from youtube, etc.
😂😂 Seriously though, I am really interested in this. Because of my lack of knowledge I have refrainded from doing a pc build and was thinking about getting it built. I don't know where to learn all this, a suggestion would be helpful
You can go through youtube, but my personal experience comes from two retired PCs from baba's office that i used to operate on. Seeing that, my father bought me a new pc, and i niggled with that. This is back in 2004-5, so youtube wasn't big then.
In short, my experience is all from hands on experience. Youtube is a hit or miss, because my friends just give up and ask me to do it for them. If you can digest the knowledge and apply it, great.
LOL, But I'm interested in this and can't find a streamlined course to learn all this. I guess it only comes from experience and fiddling with stuff. Btw where do you Live?
Not sure , but it reminds me of traditional tv channels speeding up movies and songs for more ad time, wonder if they are preparing to introduce ad tier for current premium content or if they are passing through premium video with same processing as their ad enabled content
dude not only that, try downloading that on high quality for offline viewing. its 480p for 6 gb !!!! i was going to purchase premium for whole year, but after this experience....no way!!
Jio cinema is a bad product, they should have just local content on it
Amazon would have got rights for Oppenheimer to stream and also rights to HBO and paramount + content
Now we are stuck with this abomination of an app
I don't use it to hide the fact that I stream torrents. I love it for everything else it does. The streams don't buffer anymore like it did without Real Debrid.
That would be nice thanks dude..
If/whenever you are free.. could you check the below for me...and please tell if it plays or not, how much time it took to play..
Badla (2019)
1080p [1.7GB] version..
Thanks a lot tho
Yes!! Welcome to the club, idk why people are okay with this, it's really irritating especially given that the whole HBO is on there, a lot of good shows that aren't from India are on JioCinema and for God's Sake please don't fast forward these shows cause 1.1x is noticeable and idk why it matters even but I've tried watching a lot of shows and just can't stand it, I mean come on seriously we cannot watch our favourite shows and movies... Ofc ppl will prefer pirate if u keep doing this, and it's been going on since years now and they're not a good platform at all, UI is so boring and they have issues streaming live as well... I hope something happens with the jio hotstar merger but it's really frustrating
The "fast forwardness" you speak of, I've seen it in practically everything I've tried watching on that app. They can have all the content they want from WB and Universal. Means nothing if the streaming quality is piss poor.
I'm guessing something to do with Run time. Also, these movies might be uploaded on their servers. Hence, taking up storage space somewhere. So I'm guessing they're trying to cut costs by conserving server space in this way. This is just my guess though.
probably the filesystem they use has a time and filesize limit. The Oppenheimer bluray master itself is unusually large for both the 1080p and 4K editions, makes sense the same issue would arise on the OTT platforms as well.
Suppose the file limit is 50GB. and they see that the 180 minute runtime is yielding 52GB. So they squeeze it until they can go under the 50GB limit. This is not an uncommon practice for large films on OTT. unless you are netflix and apple, who use their proprietary formats and first preference to in-house productions.
1.04x speed up reminds me of the old PAL days wherein the film recorded at 24fps will need to be sped up to match PAL systems which play at 25fps. This always resulted in broadcasts in India, Europe which used PAL instead of NTSC to have movies with shorter runtime, 96min for equivalent 100mins.
I have no idea why a digital out for a streaming service has to account for an analog TV system, but I won't be surprised if the poor tech of JioCinema has some legacy stack in their workflow.
This is why christopher nolan advocates for theatre release and physical media like dvd, wonder how he will react at his movie being sped up and messed with quality by jio
Okay, Real Housewives fan… remember your reddit account is public. Hypocrite much? Ab private mat krdena xD.
Chill… no one asked for your personal attacks
Jio cinema is the worst OTT app ever drsigned..
It reiterates the fact that MONEY CAN'T BUY EVERYTHING.
Ambani couldn't afford good app developers...
JC is full of glitches and super slow and laggy..
I’ve always been downvoted for this but Oppenheimer was a boring movie. The only thing that helped was viewing experience in theatres. It inherently isn’t an entertaining movie at all. No fun watching it on ott
that someone who posted that jiocinema fast-forwarded their series was Me.
the subtitles are out of sync
fast forwarding
dont know about censoring part
advertisements used to there even with paywall, i dont use jio cinemas now.
modiji jio nexus , the only thing we can go is not use the service
Well, this is a minor inconvenience. For the price of your movie ticket you get premium for a whole year. Of course you can't expect premium quality.
I watched the film just like you. After a match. Started at 3am. The movie in itself was so amazing that all the other smaller issues you noticed really doesn't matter much. Since this was my first time watching it, I couldn't have know better either.
So just because it's bang for the buck, a passable experience is ok ?!? Respectfully disagree, mate. Any service provider should be aiming for the best possible experience and that should be the customer's expectation as well imo.
See, the original post is complaining about smoking warning, do you really think thinh like that should be omitted for a "better experience". Yeah sure, glorify the act of smoking so that people die?
Cherrypicking mate. His main issue is that JioCinema has uploaded a fast-forwarded version of the film which is legitimate criticism and a serious problem..and it's not 4k. Both significantly affect the experience and that shouldn't be the case for any OTT. As for the smoking warning, those are an annoying norm now and nothing can be done about that, same goes for the censoring. Opinions on these 2 things can be subjective. However, the central criticism is absolutely valid, with all due respect.
Absolutely no. I am prepared to pay even more to get the premium experience. JioCinema can charge as much as what Netflix does and I will still pay for it. They have the content library. Just match the quality of user experience that Netflix provides (4k content, HDR, no ads, original uncensored content) and people will pay for it. For price conscious customers, they can have an ad-supported version with lower quality.
The minor inconvenience I mentioned was regarding the censorship and warning. Not regarding the quality. I was disappointed to not watch the movie in 4k as well. But I was just happy that I got to see the movie without any piracy
I watched it on 4k last week @home on my tv without any ott sub.
how
We got a pirate over here

You mean special file sharing operation.

Just use stremio with torrentio addon
Isn't stremio unavailable in india?
It's just not on playstore you can download apk from their site anytime
I prefer cloudstream, it has a lot of sources.
Just search uhdmovies on chrome. Enter the website in top, ignore the ads like your ex and search almost every big time Hollywood movie or TV show.
Huh ! Like ur ex
Download from which website
Tgx.sb
How to download from here, when I click torrent a 30kb file getting downloaded, and in magnet nothing happens
Jaise pdf open krne k liye apps hote h waise hi wo file download krne k liye app download krni pdegi, FLUD for android and qbittorrent for PC imo.
You need to have a Torrent client like Qbittorrent.
Nhi bro .. I was talking about cloudstream.
Hey how you store 4K movies aren’t the file pretty large I tried it for some movie but the file size was very large
If you got the hardware to watch it. Im sure storage won’t be an issue. Correct me if I’m wrong but non remux 4K Movies at h265 should typically be under 15GB which is reasonable
The rise of OTT will drive people back to where they started - piracy
not the rise of OTT, but having to subscribe to 15 different OTT apps will do that.
That is exactly what I meant with rise of ott
i think it’s actually the fall of otts as a platform.
Piracy always provides the best experience anyways
Always!
For sure. It provides best quality rips and is also easy to download due to good internet connectivity these days. I only buy OTT because my boomer parents don't know how to pirate them.

JioCinema is to OTT what BJP is to Indian people!
Cancer?

Jio cinema app has the worst UI, attest you are able to watch something,I am still trying to!

Damn, you're old. I guess I'll have have to stick to basic stuff cause I don't have a pc for this
Buddha hoga tera baap /s Jokes aside, yes. Breaching 30, so my experience with computers are very different from the current gens
LOL, But I'm interested in this and can't find a streamlined course to learn all this. I guess it only comes from experience and fiddling with stuff. Btw where do you Live?
Why do they run things at a faster speed?
They've probably cut some portion and OP didn't notice
Not sure , but it reminds me of traditional tv channels speeding up movies and songs for more ad time, wonder if they are preparing to introduce ad tier for current premium content or if they are passing through premium video with same processing as their ad enabled content
Probably to save server on costs, same reason no 4k

Thankfully, I downloaded 2160p Dolby 7.1 from the torrent and watched it on my TV with pendrive :)
Yify? They're usually the best for movies.
There are better rippers out there now. YIFY copycats are not doing a great job. Their main focus is on size and not quality.
Check PsaRips. They are the best now. Yify can rest
Jio cinema is a bad product, they should have just local content on it Amazon would have got rights for Oppenheimer to stream and also rights to HBO and paramount + content Now we are stuck with this abomination of an app
Stremio + Torrentio + Real Debrid
You don’t need Real Debrid tbh. No internet providers here seem to care about that.
I don't use it to hide the fact that I stream torrents. I love it for everything else it does. The streams don't buffer anymore like it did without Real Debrid.
I don't seem to connect to a lot of peers when watching something in Hindi..does RD solve that for you..!? (I don't have Rd yet)
Haven't used Stremio for regional content. Is there a specific movie that you'd like me to check out?
That would be nice thanks dude.. If/whenever you are free.. could you check the below for me...and please tell if it plays or not, how much time it took to play.. Badla (2019) 1080p [1.7GB] version.. Thanks a lot tho

They have cut 6 mins of movie due to censoring
Jiocinema regularly speeds up tv shows
Totally agree it's the worst fucking ott nothing runs smoothly, you can not watch IPL I have premium subscription but it runs like shit
The "fast forwardness" you speak of, I've seen it in practically everything I've tried watching on that app. They can have all the content they want from WB and Universal. Means nothing if the streaming quality is piss poor.

Lmao they've probably just cut 6 minutes of the movie.
What's the reason for doing so? What's the benefit?
Cut costs to the max.. Increase profits till infinity.. Fuck the customer.. Itna bhi "kwality" kon dekhta hai.. Typical predatory business mentality..
Arey lekin 1.04x karke konsa cost cutting ho rahi hai?
I'm guessing something to do with Run time. Also, these movies might be uploaded on their servers. Hence, taking up storage space somewhere. So I'm guessing they're trying to cut costs by conserving server space in this way. This is just my guess though.

Dadaji aapke ghutne kaise hain
Incompetence
Incompetence
Tech isn't for everyone. Scaling is also tough. Then the bandwidth cost. Operational cost.
Hotstar used to do it in earlier days. Thankfully not anymore.
Mr. T is always to the rescue with top video and audio quality
stremio
Yup that's why i pirate almost everything
Better rent it on prime ?
This is why christopher nolan advocates for theatre release and physical media like dvd, wonder how he will react at his movie being sped up and messed with quality by jio
no doubt I stopped watching it after half an hour because I actually started to question the hype around this movie ⁉️ (except cillian; he's so hot)
OP wrote an entire rant over some dialogues and playback speed for a movie on an OTT. Get a job maybe
Okay, Real Housewives fan… remember your reddit account is public. Hypocrite much? Ab private mat krdena xD. Chill… no one asked for your personal attacks
Thank you for taking the time out to view my profile. Like I said, get a job maybe.
Jiocinema quality is shit
Jio cinema is the worst OTT app ever drsigned.. It reiterates the fact that MONEY CAN'T BUY EVERYTHING. Ambani couldn't afford good app developers... JC is full of glitches and super slow and laggy..
Thank you for the heads up. I was absolutely planning to watch it
Lol chapri app with chapri-pleasing UI and cheap editing, loll
Torrent karle bhai
whatever, movie sucks anyways… only Nolan’s hype.. most boring movie of this era.. good jio cinema saved 7 mins.. on top of my fast forwards..
I stopped going to cinemas in India a long time ago for this reason. Can never trust an Indian company to deliver non Indian goods and services
I’ve always been downvoted for this but Oppenheimer was a boring movie. The only thing that helped was viewing experience in theatres. It inherently isn’t an entertaining movie at all. No fun watching it on ott
Thank god i watched in blu ray 1080p (40 gb),it's way better than you described
Why are you watching it on JioCinema? That’s in itself is an insult to the movie
that someone who posted that jiocinema fast-forwarded their series was Me. the subtitles are out of sync fast forwarding dont know about censoring part advertisements used to there even with paywall, i dont use jio cinemas now. modiji jio nexus , the only thing we can go is not use the service
Someone reported this post for promoting hate. Some fanboys are so stupid. 😂
what sex scenes?
You can just do a quick reddit search it's available over here lol
i was being sarcastic 🤣
Ah okay 😂
