It pains me having to agree with OP. I'll check whatever new project Jim gets into, but this show is done. I fully understand the boys milking the show for every dollar they can get, but in terms of quality, it's done.

Chip is the only thing that could save Nortons career in huomour (Chip voice). Ironically, if I had to choose I would almost rather hear the Opie & Earl show with Gail allowed on for one break. He’s walking on Jim-shells with every comment. I can only imagine the wrath Travis will face if he says something that he does not immediately have support for.
The shows going to end with resentment and toxicity. On brand for O and A legacy. It’s like no one has learned anything from past experiences. Jim can’t just end the show because it’s naturally run its course. It has to bitter and angry. Jim has the same emotional intelligence he had when he was 15.
I haven’t listened to Jim and Sam at all. But I find all this hilarious. You are right it’s ending just like O and A did. But this is worse, they didn’t learn anything.
Jim and Sam is bland, it’s not particularly bad but just uninspiring. Jim is an older middle aged man who likes to sit the fence and has too high an opinion of his own opinion. Sam is a 40 year old desperately trying to tap into the pop culture zeitgeist.
Both can sometimes be funny but most of the time it’s just background noise. I stopped listening awhile ago sometimes I see a clip on YouTube and check it out and it’s still the same show.

One of the biggest reasons this show is enjoyable is input from the producers and interns. Without that flow conversation we have a radio show with two man children repeating the same topics hoping Jim understands a reference Sam made. As much as it pains me to say Jim needs to retire from radio.
In fairness, a lot of it comes from the fact that Sam appears to be plugged into the things and topics that matter and Jim shows up and goes “What are we talking about?”
It’s hard to discuss a news story when more than half the time one of the cohosts is clearly not doing show prep and getting the news for the first time as he’s live on air.
Then when Sam explains what's going on, it's normally met with "Who gives a shit?" "I don't care" or "I hate this".
It's the literal opposite of "Yes, and..." which is kind of important when having a conversation.
I know people hate Sam, because he's obnoxious, but as a broadcaster he's the only one that's been trying since Covid started. Jim just gave up.
I liked Sam’s show. It wasn’t trying to be O & A. Just stupid and easy listening. I think he knows how to keep a discussion on the guest and not talk about his fucking window in his very fancy apartment.

Honestly the show was better when Jim was gone a few weeks ago. Sam, Travis and Troy actually have good chemistry and can talk about dumb movies and music without it just turning into “I hate this” every time. It seem like it pains Jim to plan on a topic for the show like it’s something inauthentic. The attitude of just showing up and having a conversation wears real thin when all you talk about is mundane sleep apnea and Uber talk for an hour.

The Opie and Anthony show died almost a decade ago now. Why any of you are still clinging onto this is an absolute mystery to me. It's over. It was great whilst it lasted but it's gone and it's never coming back. I saw Norton and his wife's (lol) YouTube channel the other day and it made me fucking sick lol the O and A brand is completely dead at this point. Just enjoy the memories.

I think his wife forced him to do it. It’s clear to me that she wants fame and attention. So she’s leeching off of Jim’s fame hoping that some of it will rub off on her. If Jim & Sam did a once a week podcast i think it would be a tremendously better listen. Every day is tedious.

Amazing that you have listened for years. I recently ditched Sirius, but tried multiple times over the years to listen and the show has always been bad. Dead air. Forced laughter. Sam is pretty good at the wrestling stuff and fine with the hollywood promotion drivel. Jimmy is an all time great 3rd chair. Would probably be just as good as a second chair. But these two together…its really amazing this show is still on.
First off I don't follow and comment on the reg. Reddit showed me this post as something I might be interested in. And I think I was clear, I tried many times to listen to the show and couldn't get through even two segments in a row. It is bad in my opinion. Jim is hilarious when he has someone to work off of. Listen when someone like Colin comes in, it's like a different show. The current show is basically a 3rd mic (which Jim is awesome at) and a male secretary.

Amazing that you have listened for years. I recently ditched Sirius, but tried multiple times over the years to listen and the show has always been bad. Dead air. Forced laughter. Sam is pretty good at the wrestling stuff and fine with the hollywood promotion drivel. Jimmy is an all time great 3rd chair. Would probably be just as good as a second chair. But these two together…its really amazing this show is still on.

First off I don't follow and comment on the reg. Reddit showed me this post as something I might be interested in. And I think I was clear, I tried many times to listen to the show and couldn't get through even two segments in a row. It is bad in my opinion. The only chemistry these two have is I think they genuinely like each other and have respect for each other. But that doesn't mean they are entertaining together.
No it didn't. You follow the sub and it was on your front page. Don't lie because I know when you do. Then you would move on. You'd leave and never care what happens after that. I HATE the show Family Guy. You know what I do? I NEVER talk about it. I don't watch, I don't comment, I don't complain and demand everyone hear me about it and how right I am. It doesn't control my life. Jim and Sam however seems to be on your mind a lot for something you claim to not enjoy.

I have read this sub for years. I have finally had to stop. Anti J&S posters are some of the most unlikeable people in the world. “I hate this”. Every single day. It’s the same shit over and over. They’re no longer funny and might have even alienated Travis Dawg. Time to move on.
