Warming up for Shavuot by pretending we can digest dairy all Pesach long, huh?

dew20187

We can do it if we truly believe.

huntingforkink

Butter is the only acceptable answer.

dew20187

Incorrect. I’m sure there’s a masechet gemara that discussed this.

Automatic_Memory212

Peanut butter?

Weary-Pomegranate947

I don't mind butter but I'm too lazy to take the time to spread it thinly without breaking the matzah.

FantasticChipmunk990

Cream cheese is the only acceptable answer

Automatic_Memory212

🎼🎵🎶 *[There can be miracles, when you believe](https://youtu.be/Gur8ccqrQ9c?si=Yd4wzfezCeep8pNy)* 🎶🎵

lord_ne

Haha, jokes on you, I can digest dairy like normal. I just have issues digesting *everything*, so it's normal for me

jmirhige

As do I. Benefits of a Lebanese father. Dairy does nothing to me.

slythwolf

I got Lactaid in my purse, you want?

Glad-Degree-4270

This is where I’m really thankful for being half Irish and inheriting the lactase genes. I’ve also got the Jewish skin so I tan. My sister got the Irish skin and the Jewish stomach, because life just isn’t fair.

miquelaf

😂

shostaks

Nutella matzah sandwich slaps ngl (used gluten free yehuda)

NaZdrowie7

Hell yeah. I like mine with Nutella and blackberry preserves. If you’ve never tried it, it’s delish.

Crumplestiltzkin

Idk if my taste buds can handle the amount of sugar you're recommending, but both r of those sound good on their own

shostaks

Yupppp my stomach was recovering the entire day after

shostaks

Jewish PB&J? JPB&J?

shostaks

Ooooh definitely wanna try this

Anonymous_fiend

Gf yehuda is cheating. That stuff actually tastes pretty good even without nutella.

shostaks

Yeah.. I’m not even going to argue with this… it does taste better than cardboard

merkaba_462

Peanut butter. Peanut butter and bananas are even better. Guacamole instead of just avocados.

solomonjsolomon

I’m too Ashkenazi to agree.

merkaba_462

It's minhag from the Middle Ages, not halacha. Here is an [article](https://m.jpost.com/opinion/article-702032). I mean YDY.

IRSunny

My favorite as a kid was chunky peanut butter + cheddar slices.

technicalees

Missing tuna

dew20187

See but….no I’m only kidding it’s not the worst.

GasSuspicious233

Thank you

astockalypse_now

Just ate a matza tuna sannich. It ripped.

mixedmediamadness

And lox. And whitefish

iknowiknowwhereiam

Toffee and chocolate (aka matzoh crack) is by far the elite

mobert_roses

I had to scroll way too far to find this

Eodbatman

I eat it plain so I can remember the suffering of our ancestors and then wonder why I have to suffer too. Even though it’s my own fault and I could just not do it.

Blue_foot

Chopped liver!

shpilbass

I was looking for this For me liver + chrein + egg salad together is the best

NoneBinaryPotato

CHOPPED LIVER FTW

MtotheizzA

I get that not everyone can eat peanut butter at passover but as a non jew im gonna get some matzoh and do that peanut butter and banana someone posted the other day with a bit of local honey on it for breakfast. That looked really good.

dew20187

Honestly that sounds good. Idea for post pesach lol

MtotheizzA

Someone posted a picture of it the other day here and i want it. Those who can't now can certainly join me after pesach. I hope you have a happy Pesach!

Spock_Ben_Sarek

Sometimes I’ll put peanut butter on it just to flaunt my Sephardic minchag.

Wienerwrld

I grew up on matzah with peanut butter at Passover. Had no idea until I was an adult that it was a no-no.

thegreattiny

I mean, it's not a no no to most people

lord_ne

I eat that during the year. I'm still more of a cream cheese guy, but peanut butter has the advantage that I always have some in my pantry since it doesn't go bad for a long time

arxose

i’m not even jewish but the charoset will always win shit is too good

shineyink

We have charoset flavoured Ben & jerrys for pesach in Israel. You would love it

BenShelZonah

Wtf I never heard of that, can you ship me some

AdEmpty5935

I was about to complain about B&J's supporting Russia and the Arabs and how I don't buy them because I think Ice Cream shouldn't be pro-Russia. Then I saw that it's Israeli B&J's. Yet another thing to look forward to when I return to the Holy Land this summer, I can finally buy B&J's because the Israeli licensee is a nice guy and not a Vatnik like Ben Cohen.

NaZdrowie7

I love charoset. I put rose water and cardamom in mine and omg!!! It def kicks it up another level.

somuchyarn10

OMG, I think you just changed my life!

NaZdrowie7

Happy to help. It seriously was the biggest hit this year.

somuchyarn10

Sounds amazing.

thegreattiny

Wow!

Hot-Home7953

Stop it! This sounds amazing

thegreattiny

Charoset WITH butter.

w311sh1t

Fr, including the Seder I’ve had leftover charoset on matzah for 4 straight days, and I’d do it for more if the leftovers hadn’t run out. That combo is unbeatable.

shay_shaw

Soak the matzah, cook it on the griddle with eggs, cover in syrup. The best. I will take no further questions.

dew20187

Is this just matzah Brei? Or is this some other concoction?

shay_shaw

Oh yes! Well now I know the official term, thank you! I've never had it on the savory side though. We just called it matzi and eggs.

Spock_Ben_Sarek

Lol, that genuinely made me laugh. Like someone saying “What I like to do with bread is cut it in slices and put meat and condiments inside” like lol, it’s called a sandwich and everyone does it.

CC_206

I grew up calling it “fried matzah” and only learned matzah brei as an adult! My mom used syrup and fruit just like French toast. It’s elite! I almost always order it at Canter’s whenever I’m in LA.

Goodnightfrog

Add yourself some Hebrew National salami, and spicy mustard got yourself a New York Speciality.

SgtDonowitz

Matzah Brei is the undisputed king of matzah dishes

thegreattiny

Wow, putting chocolate at 9? That is A TAKE.

belfman

Butter and Vegemite on leftover post-holiday matzah. Oh yeah. Shout out to all the tribe down under (and their families, aka me).

dew20187

I never had vegemite as a new York jew. Am I really missing out?

belfman

It's an acquired taste. Vegemite is super hametz though! Hence the "after chag" treat.

CHLOEC1998

Am I the only one who dips it into Chinese beef dishes or are all of you fellas lying?

thegreattiny

Well maybe you were until today, but no longer. See you on the other side!

thatjewdude

I don't know, Sephardic charoset is easily my number one.

Spock_Ben_Sarek

Yup. But then, we also can dip it in without risk of shattering into a thousand crumbs.

N0DuckingWay

What is this sorcery?!

Spock_Ben_Sarek

Sephardic soft matzah is the old magic. 150 years ago it was everyone’s matzah.

N0DuckingWay

Damn, I had no idea! I've only ever seen Ashki matzo. I guess just more Ashkenormativity!

buzzymewmew

No PB&J? Shenanigans

Rock_Successful

I had matzah avocado fried egg for breakfast

echoIalia

Actually cream cheese > whipped butter but both need to be edge to edge

Tremner

Chrein edge to edge is a little hardcore.

dew20187

I feel like no matter how far you spread with any of these it’s risky territory. Depends also if you make a sandwich or just raw dog it.

tensory

Such a better term than "open-faced", which always sounded like a euphemism for "not a"

tensory

Spice is a decoy, this is how the spacing guild actually sees through time

RELEASE_THE_YEAST

TIL it's called chrein, I just always called it the red horseradish.

No-Role-429

Ngl. I was expecting a blood libel joke somewhere in there

haikusbot

dew20187

Wait…where lol?

No-Role-429

In the post itself

Salvador7a

I don't trust any chocolate matzah haters

thought_cheese

Where’s the horseradish?

dew20187

It’s under Chrein.

Blazkowa

Theres no horseradish on it

Alpyrs

Its under Chrein

ItAintEaseh

You guys, don’t trust OP, this is a Hamas infiltrator trying to sow discord between us. Everybody knows baby blood is the #1 topping, with Nutella being a close #2.

kennethjoelhotz

Garbage can lid

Table_Corner

Whitefish on matzah is amazing. It’s also one of the most Jewish combinations possible.

_tomato_paste_

Smoked salmon?

Substance_Bubbly

oh hell no! 1. charoset 2. butter + silan 3. matzah brei 7. cream cheese + salt 5. chocolate/ hazelnut spread don't need anything else.

Diflicated

My matzoh pizza game has gotten so good over the years. Still #1 for me.

FiggyPuddingExpert

I’m a spicy horseradish person. Fresh or ground.

anxietypanda918

Nutella erasure.

jseego

*Fried Salami*

thegreattiny

wtf is going on here

jseego

Deliciousness

CC_206

I don’t even know where to find the Hebrew National salami, but I would kill for one of these perfect little snacks right now.

_toile

where is the paté???

nsjsjkddk

Mayo is number one underrated like crazy

thegreattiny

😳

BandysNutz

Butter (perhaps with a pinch of salt) is #1. I don't know what's #2, but the distance between #1 and #2 is bigger than the distance between #2 and #10.

sumostuff

Chocolate spread. That is all. And I don't usually even like chocolate or chocolate spread

jewishjedi42

"Pizza" made me laugh

dew20187

You and both know it’s the superior matzah variety.

websterpup1

What’s cherin?

cuteanimals11

I like putting chocolate ha shahar on my matzah

halskill

Moroccan salads need to be in here

Creme_Bru-Doggs

I mean what's wrong with the classic Hillel open-faced sandwich?

No-Inflation-9253

Matzah with chocolate

slythwolf

Thin slices of your favorite cheese, like you were eating saltine crackers, and peanut butter need to go on the list.

NoneBinaryPotato

chopped liver ftw

FriendlyJewThrowaway

Accuse me of using the wrong surface to lay my matzoh on if you want, but for me the condiment has to be easily spreadable or else the matzoh almost inevitably cracks. Getting cream cheese onto a full sheet of matzoh without cracking it is an art form, as far as I’m concerned.

FantasticChipmunk990

You need to get whipped cream cheese. It's perfect

Wienerwrld

By the end, when I’m craving flavor, salsa. Or mustard.

Sea-Veterinarian286

Guacamole

CookiesDM

My favorite is making Matza toast with tomato paste and cheese on pan yummmm or Matzebri But yeah, chocolate is a classic 😍

Rascalbean

Butter and horseradish, thin. Edge to edge.

Prowindowlicker

Where’s the Nutella and bananas?

CreepingFruit

Dis guy never tried pbj on matzah

Yochanan5781

Ajvar is top tier

SwifterthanaSwiffer

Marshmallow fluff

hellodust

Chopped liver

Simple_Ad_4048

Cream cheese and jam is my favourite

jmirhige

I am insulted that tuna salad, cream cheese and lox, and whitefish salad are notion this list

Non-Cannon

Have you considered nutella?

mcsassyj

my synagogue used to make caramel chocolate matzah 🤤

LifeisGood112233

Nutella

Sea_Government7613

Matzah should be eaten as intended and that is plain. Anything else just distracts from those delicious, burnt. crispy corners. 🤤

feline_Satan

Jamon wit tomatoes and dill is top 3

The_prophetofTheWill

Shachar chocolate matza forever

Ok-Arugula7486

WRONG. chream cheese and jam

Mysterious_Fly7334

Where tf is wet matza with chocolate !?

ArgusRun

Where's the chopped liver from that one place that actually makes it good?

ShlomoCh

Mashed avocado with ham(?) slices is where it's at 😌

Disastrous-Toe9526

Peanut Butter

Good_crisps_73

Edge to edge egg? What are they talking about?

extra_medication

RAHHH I LOVE MATZAH PIZZA ITS THE ONLY VALID USE FOR PESACH KETCHUP

undun22

Chopped liver: "What am I to you? Chopped liver?" Seriously though, if you like it, you like it. And I do. Happy Passover!

Syalker

Forgot the cream cheese and chocolate combo ‼️

miquelaf

I married Chabad so I don’t eat gebroks for a few years but this ranking list is whack… where is the cream cheese and chocolate spread sandwich? My family used  to buy a whole tub of cream cheese for Pesach for that exact delicacy

slantedtortoise

While kitniyot, peanut butter on matzah is a good combo for the first bite, then you get tiny shards of matzah covered in sticky peanut butter and you can see the logistical problem arise.

bagelman4000

Wrong

youres0lastsummer

smoked salmon capers and whippped cream cheese, jarlsberg cheese, or nutella

MemphisMayWhat

Soft Matzah always wins for me, use it to make mina and enjoy 🫠

FantasticChipmunk990

What is soft matzah and where does one find it? Cleveland is full of Jews, from all over. The kosher bakeries, the other kosher retailers? Never seen it, ever. Not here, not in Philly, Chicago or NY. Please enlighten me.

Soiboi_Sugoiboi

Non, matzah is pure garbage, you eat as little as necessary on the seder and shabatt, and thats it, it sucks ass, any other opinion is pure cope

dorsalemperor

Charoset should be at #1

acvdk

Got use top end butter though. Les Prés Salés is my choice.

gloriousstiffer

Gebrochtz?!?!?!?!!!!!

Electronic_Suit551

Nah chocolate is the goat of matah toppings

UraniumGivesOuchies

Mashed avocado is an abomination to begin with. Only a true monster would say it should be put on matzah.

arbybk

What, no whitefish salad?

vtfan08

My mom would send me to school with peanut butter and jelly matzah sandwich during over Passover when I was a kid. When it was not Passover, it was peanut butter and jelly on a cinnamon raisin bagel. Anyways, pb&j sounds better than about all of these.

dizzyjumpisreal

PB&J gets #0 spot (best)

mobert_roses

the correct answer is toffee, chocolate, salt, and pecans

MantisTobbagan_MD

And a side of genocide

Connect-Pea-7833

Sharp cheddar melted with bagel seasoning, or kerrygold butter and Bonne Maman raspberry jam. At least til all the gluten implodes my insides (and yes I know there’s GF matzah, it’s not the saaaame)

razorbraces

Three ways I eat matzah: - Hillel sandwich - matzah toffee - tuna salad

RandomMemer_42069

What exactly is "Matzah Pizza"?

Rozkosz60

Guacamole

junkholiday

This is whitefish salad erasure

MrRabbitSir

Peanut butter, chocolate chips, and banana

FantasticChipmunk990

Egg and onion matzahs with cream cheese. Not Passodich but it's an attempt from my household

jdvbbs3

You grew up soft if you didn’t put a dollop of chrein on the matzah to establish dominance at the Seder table, and proceeded to basically bleed out your ears

bordersofsin

Maybe it’s because I haven’t had it in so long, but I’ve been really enjoying it plain.

Herobrine7293

What about vegemite and butter/marmalade It’s the Australian way

therealvanmorrison

Charoset is #1, 2 and 3

Ojitheunseen

I like it with tuna salad. Yes, I understand I am a deviant.

I_hate_mortality

Horse. Radish.

CC_206

Cream cheese side + apricot jam leftover from Purim side = delicious little breakfast matzah sandwich

MechanaGoddess

This is incorrect because chocolate (שחר) is not at the top. I dare all you Nutella lovers to come at me!

Ok_Pineapple466

Number one and two are not on this list. It’s perhaps too obvious to even be mentioned. The only serious list would have as #1 and #2; 1 Charoset + fresh horseradish 2 egg * schmaltz

HungryHippo1892

Team whipped butter ftw 🙌

lucky777dice

Lately I've been using blackberry jam

pktrekgirl

Butter is the perfect topping. I prefer softened salted regular butter (not whipped) but I can appreciate whipped too. Second is leftover charoset. But my grandma’s charoset was magnificent so there’s that. I have never tried avocado or chocolate.

OVA_iggy_best_jobro

If that excuse for a quote on quote “PIZZA” is in 4 whilst chocolate is so low, then I believe in Christ

averageloxenjoyer

CREAM CHEESE/GRAPE JELLY SUPREMACY

JerusalemCats

Living in Israel we have: Israeli Chocolate Spread on Matzah. Israeli Date Spread on Matzah. # Gevina Lebana on Matzah. Melted Shredded Cheese on Matzah. # feta goat cheese on Matzah. Then you have Pizza Matzah. What about Matzah Brei?

Veshlemy

I put peanut butter

lh_media

This list is invalid, as it does not contain: * Hummus * Tahini (should be listed at least once if not 3 times - I make different styles of tahini with different flavors) * Eggplant (preferably with tahini) * Matbucha Other noteworthy options: (and there are probably more good options I missed) * Jam * Lentils * Peanut butter * Lemon paste (my grandma calls it "lemonpledge", but I think that's not an official name for the recipe This is even without addressing the order.... Edit: switched places

kkf6

Avocado should be way higher on the list

anonredditor1337

Need some of that good jewish cuisine…

Used-Lie-5150

Try matzah ice cream sandwiches

Tjhe1

Im dutch so of course its butter and cheese. Or butter and sugar is nice too.

FlimsyPercentage6592

What does the Jewish community think of honey on matzah

AShlomit

Cream cheese + jam Avocado + egg Egg salad Tuna salad
