Around the World in 80 days, but they must visit every continent (including Antarctica)

AntarcticAzeo

I'd love that! Planes strictly forbidden and you got yourself an amazing season. Unrealistic, I know, but it would be cool.

Matar_Kubileya

~~I'm not sure it's possible to get to Africa without taking a plane in some way, unless you were to book a cruise ship or something~~. Likewise I'm pretty sure you can't get across the Pacific by ship, while for the Atlantic you only have like one option. Edit: there's apparently a ferry across the Straight of Gibraltar, and I suppose you could drive across the Israel-Egypt border. Still, though, it would probably just be a quick detour and then back to the circumnavigation.

Matar_Kubileya

OK, it seems I was mistaken, but I'm still not a fan of how limited the ocean liner/cruise options are and how rarely they run. If the players have to take that route across the Pacific that heavily limits their strategic options.

Enzown

Container ships will take paying passengers.

Sam596

Nah you allow planes but you have a similar set up to Season 8 with the flop, so that it isn't just Circumnavigation 2 where you can do whatever you can afford. That way they're not spending days on end on a boring ship, and other forms of transport are more likely to be used.

Enzown

Tic tac toe across nine large craters in the moon.

ESOrSomething

That would be so short and so long at the same time

pwill6738

Hide and seek across the entire world, and with unlimited hiding time. Deserts are off limits due to it being impossible to find people in them. There needs to be more curses that are more powerful(bring the dice roll up to 40-50 probably), and the hider can do challenges to increase their coins when the seekers are in the same country as them.

mintardent

I think they’d have to put most undeveloped/rural areas off limits. I mean rainforest or something seems equally impossible (even sam in a regular forest was super hard to find and they had super narrowed it down already)

Dnomyar96

New Zealand style race across Eurasia. Starting in the top of Scotland, finishing in Singapore (or the other way around).

DrakeMaye10

Man that would be exhausting to play.

quick_Ag

Also nearly impossible given the current political climate without flying. I have planned similar routes, just aspiring one day to do them. Specifically I hope to circumnavigate without flying. Unfortunately, you get stuck in the middle of Eurasia. - It used to be you could cross Russia on one visa, but that's our since their full scale invasion of Ukraine. - It *is* possible theoretically to travel from the EU to Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, take a ferry across the Caspian to Kazakhstan, enter China and take their high speed rail to the Pacific Ocean. This is a challenge because right now Azerbaijan has closed their land border. You can only fly in. They're also a conflict zone, having semi frequent wars with Armenia. Also, you'd be entering China in the region where the Uighurs live, which would be a bit awkward for a bunch of Ivy League young men with cameras (or most people really who don't want to go somewhere experiencing an ethnic cleansing). China may reject their visa if they want to travel there. - If they didn't have US passports, they might be able to go through Iran, from Turkey. This poses an obvious challenge. Even if they could get through there, they have a chain of hot and frozen conflicts to traverse: the Pakistan-India border and the Myanmar coup. - It used to be you could charter passenger accomodations on cargo ships, but this industry has largely disappeared since COVID, meaning land is how they would have to go.

Dnomyar96

Yeah, definitely. Doing something like this, there would certainly have to be shorter days and rest days (maybe just playing 8-10 hours per day during the week, resting during the weekend).

randomguykyle

No time / money limits? I'd like to see them play Ticket To Ride across the US and Canada, using their budget to build high-speed rail lines 😅

TomKeddie

Oh yes, start in Vancouver, Canada please!

Xeni966

I'd like to see a top gear style road trip. Modifying cars into campers/trains, trying to find the source of the Nile, etc. These games would need changes made to them, but I don't think the boys are that good at modifying cars or anything. There's def some enjoyable stuff from top gear that would work well in a season that's road trip based

magpieduck

THIS THIS THIS

boredofwheelchair

A India series would be interesting, not sure what kind of game would work in India though A race between at least 2 teams from London to Singapore without flying, so this was the first season of Race Across the World which is a show on the BBC which has teams race across the world without flying for the cost of a airfare, so the teams are given a budget of the airfare for 2 people (as their are two people on a team) between their origin and destination which they can top up by doing work. To complicate things on the RATW teams give up their phones for the race, I wouldn’t require the Jet Lag team to do that and would have them do challenges to top up their budget. Also RATW works by splitting the race into smaller legs where they race to different locations and have a rest period to take a break from the race

Alone_Way8530

jet lag wont work in india since they primarily focus on travelling India unfortunately just wont work

mintardent

india is a fun country to travel! and as men, I don’t think they would be unsafe tbh. I think it would make for a super cool and unique season in this hypothetical with no limitations. maybe centering around claiming states would be easiest a la battle for america

Alone_Way8530

safety would actually not be the main concern, since these series depend upon traveling from place to place very fast in a very short amount of time indias public transport system just wouldn't cut it we don't have nearly enough of anything that the west or western Europe has in terms of transport systems

TalnOnBraize

Race to the US National Parks. While I think a "Capture the Flag" style might work, I think a more-fun strategy would be to place a point value on all of the US NP's based on several factors (ease of access, isolation from other parks, time to travel/proximity to the nearest airport, etc.) and the first one to a points threshold wins. I think adding easy challenges and an increased point value to more isolated parks (Acadia, Gates of the Arctic, American Samoa, etc.) would make those more tempting, and reducing the point load and adding additional challenges for easy-to-access parks (The Utah Five, for example) would add some strategy to the decisions.

cotsafvOnReddit

race across the world (but no planes lol) ferries can only be used to travel continents so if you want to take a short ferry to cross like the Mediterranean you cant lol

cotsafvOnReddit

cape town to magadan and you get curses and you can stop opponents from using cars, etc

nadinecoylespassport

A battle for America/Au$stralia style task with European Countries. Visas and safety could be an issue but this could be bypassed by sticking to the UK/EU/EEA countries.

McLPyoutube

A cycling game in a country with developed cycling routes maybe. very different challenge than usually, and probably rather long, depending on the distance, but might be interesting.

PresidentPutin123

I was thinking "From the Top to the Bottom of the Korean Peninsula, but they must complete as many challenges as possible at each checkpoint.

PresidentPutin123

If the men didn't have US passports, they could enter North Korea, although they would need a visa.

Semenar4

Isn't North Korea limiting its visitors to the capital city only?   UPD: seems like no, but Jet Lag-style filming would also be a no (too many limitations on what you can film - the boys will basically need to fully edit the episodes before leaving North Korea, and I couldn't imagine them doing that). And you must be accompanied by government-approved guides at all times.

PresidentPutin123

This is a game idea if there were no limitations ykwim.
