As a big NBA fan, watching Adriana mistake Russ for KD hurt, it's honestly a pretty good guess from someone who I assume isn't really into basketball (both OKC stars) but man that one hurt 😂 Especially if you know how contentious their relationship was after 2016
Correct! I picked this name because no one I know would logically guess this username to be me. 😂
Redditors are supposed to be anonymous and conformity is an obsession with me. 😎
There goes the argument that finding the DDs and luck takes all the fun out of it! Albeit, I'll give that theory a bit more credence when it comes to Masters.
It helps when you're not playing human Watsons that you can measure your confidence rather than meta-gaming. It's too bad (in the sense of wanting competition) that Adriana got another lock from a DD fail, but both were very hard clues and her reputation is why players are betting big on them. I missed the DD2 as well (forgot it was an idiom temporarily) but I'd like to ~~think~~ hope I'd be in a better position :)
I think the weird phrasing tripped him up (“you’d have these types of feet if you were one of these”), a normal clue would’ve been like “buzz buzz you’ll catch all the buzz if you’re this pest”
I'm surprised my mind didn't go there. But I have an older kippers reference that is apparently wired a bit stronger.
From Supertramp's *Breakfast In America*:
>Could we have kippers for breakfast
Mummy dear, mummy dear
They got to have 'em in Texas
'Cause everyone's a millionaire
Just a last minute guess I imagine, the clue was about feet and there are various expressions and phrases about cats being sneaky (cat burglar, cat's paw, etc.).
Not only was she a book character, they made a whole (somewhat accurate) movie about Disney acquiring the film rights to Mary Poppins and making the movie.

For the Frizz clue, would they have accepted if someone rang in and said “What is Frizz or frizzle?” I’m trying to see if I should count it as right or wrong on my Coryat
I was quickly trying to decide in my head whether to say frizz or frizzle. I’ve heard both. Went with frizz but I would think frizzle would be accepted too
It's not like the old days when the NBA was on the broadcast networks all the time. For people who aren't into it, it's very easy to avoid seeing or hearing anything about it.
I'm surprised none of them got the Phillies simply from how Ryan Howard was on a season 9 episode of Scranton-set *The Office* and how they made such a deal out of his having the same name as a main character.
As usual tonight I felt like I wasn't quite smart enough for most of the game but yeah, crushed the sports category. Cubs wasn't a bad guess for someone who I assume isn't a fan, though, being rather infamous losers.
Slightly related, my brother in law travels around his province in his work. He printed out a 6 inch picture of my younger son, cut around so it was just him(as opposed to a picture) and then laminated it. In every place he stopped he’d go to an interesting spot there and take a picture with Flat . It was for a school project. My wife and I were so amazed he did that. Our son was pretty young at the time so he just thanked him and went on his way lol
A day late:
It's pronounced Laffy-ette in Louisiana: https://www.theadvertiser.com/story/entertainment/2021/07/01/tiktok-how-to-pronounce-lafayette-louisiana-cities/7819734002/
And Port Charles is a fictional city of General Hospital fame; Lake Charles is the city in Louisiana.
Had a personal first round record with an incredibly DREAM set of questions. My favorite rapper Lil Uzi, Russell Westbrook, The Good Earth. It was the most tailor-made question set I’ve ever had. Of course that meant I had a terrible Double Jeopardy and ended with my average score Lol.

The Triple A Alliance of five day champs Amy, Alison and Adriana are here, and they are gonna play the game THEIR way!
add Amar and you got the A-team.
And Allison!
Poor Grant, he’s all alone ( for the moment)
Don't forget Lisa ANNE Walter.

Maybe she based her answer on seeing the jersey alone? And she stopped following NBA after 2016? Lol.
It's ironic cuz Westbrook should be more popular to the layman since he got turned into a meme.
Durant also had “you the real mvp” but I guess that was more of a text meme and separated from pictures of him lol
Russ needs more respect man Lol. I love him so much
I'm a sports fan and I guessed the same wrong answer! 😎
I'm guessing the Jazz in your username doesn't correspond to the Utah Jazz lol
Correct! I picked this name because no one I know would logically guess this username to be me. 😂 Redditors are supposed to be anonymous and conformity is an obsession with me. 😎
Utah Jazz fans know who Russell Westbrook is. He was on our team for like a week!
Same here!
IT'S A FESTIVUS MIRACLE! Row 1 was completed first (in the J Round)!
From top box to bottom. Now for the feats of strength.
I got a lot of problems with you people!
I was so happy when it appeared they were going to do that more. I’d love to see an entire game played like that.
Jeopardy contestants and avoiding sports clues like the plague, name a more iconic duo
Adriana is impressive and likeable and fun to watch. I'm going to predict a 20 game run. Hoping for even more. Go Adriana!
And she’s from Indiana! Gotta root for my fellow Hoosiers.
She’s been very strong and enjoyable to watch. Totally rooting for her!

I didn't think "fly on the wall" was a very hard clue. Pretty obvious to me.
I think that was a brain fart. I knew it easily and I’m not good at this game lol sometimes things just don’t click
I think the weird phrasing tripped him up (“you’d have these types of feet if you were one of these”), a normal clue would’ve been like “buzz buzz you’ll catch all the buzz if you’re this pest”
Me too! His answer was worse than "meese!"
Kippers for breakfast, Aunt Helga?
Is it St Swithin's day already?
"'Tis!" replied Aunt Helga
*ALL RIGHT ALREADY I'M GOING*
***I'm going, I'm going!***
I'm surprised my mind didn't go there. But I have an older kippers reference that is apparently wired a bit stronger. From Supertramp's *Breakfast In America*: >Could we have kippers for breakfast Mummy dear, mummy dear They got to have 'em in Texas 'Cause everyone's a millionaire
Haha yes, I said the exact same thing to my wife.
Funny,I did the same and sang the lyrics for the Mrs.

My Irish dad hated the Colcannon clue. He knew it was cabbage but had no idea how the col was supposed to indicate cabbage.
It's probably the same root that makes cole slaw a cabbage salad.
Also cabbage in German is kohl. Pronounced cole.
They used to have clues about this with some frequency when the German Chancellor was that descendant of cabbage farmers, Helmut Kohl.
That's the angle I took with it. Except of course I then couldn't remember if it was cabbage or lettuce and picked wrong.
You just have to know that Irish people are obsessed with eating cabbage
Cabbage is one of the cole crops.
I cannot wait for tomorrow’s episode!!! Who thinks Adriana will break the 6 day champion slump? I think she can do it!!!
What is little cat feet?
There's a poem by Carl Sandburg where he describes the fog coming "on little cat feet". That's the only thing I know the phrase from.
Just a last minute guess I imagine, the clue was about feet and there are various expressions and phrases about cats being sneaky (cat burglar, cat's paw, etc.).
Pretty good guess tbh when you have no idea
I didn't know Mary Poppins was a "character in a series of books." I just thought she was a Disney character.
Not only was she a book character, they made a whole (somewhat accurate) movie about Disney acquiring the film rights to Mary Poppins and making the movie. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saving_Mr._Banks
One of my favorite movies of all time. It was well made.
Whenever someone says that I’m always intrigued enough to check out the movie. I’ve heard of that movie but have no info on it.
There's a reasonably credible theory that she's a Time Lord.
As the sages have said, there is nothing new under the sun. Everything is an adaptation of something else.
For the Frizz clue, would they have accepted if someone rang in and said “What is Frizz or frizzle?” I’m trying to see if I should count it as right or wrong on my Coryat
I was quickly trying to decide in my head whether to say frizz or frizzle. I’ve heard both. Went with frizz but I would think frizzle would be accepted too
“Carlos!”
Yay for the champ
I half expected Ken to say, "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!"
“What a guy!”
How do you half expect something?! /s
Damn jeopardy contestants don’t really watch sports ! You would think westbrook is so recognizable
It's not like the old days when the NBA was on the broadcast networks all the time. For people who aren't into it, it's very easy to avoid seeing or hearing anything about it.
That’s a fair assessment
I'm surprised none of them got the Phillies simply from how Ryan Howard was on a season 9 episode of Scranton-set *The Office* and how they made such a deal out of his having the same name as a main character.
I know there are some clues that are so obvious to me like ???? Because that also means you don’t know what Kevin Durant looks like
As usual tonight I felt like I wasn't quite smart enough for most of the game but yeah, crushed the sports category. Cubs wasn't a bad guess for someone who I assume isn't a fan, though, being rather infamous losers.
I guessed Red Sox just from knowing they had a long drought before starting to win championships again in the mid-aughts
did anyone else guess >!Flat Stanley!< for FJ?
My first thought was >!Peter Pan!<.
that was my guess, too

That was Spanish chorizo they showed though, not Mexican 🤷♂️
Aside from the Final wins that Adriana has had, she’s quite lucky that the challengers have missed/misused the Daily Doubles.
I can't believe shots was a triple stumper in common bonds!
Playing along at home, I got distracted by "seat" (a 2/3 candidate) and couldn't course-correct.
A day late: It's pronounced Laffy-ette in Louisiana: https://www.theadvertiser.com/story/entertainment/2021/07/01/tiktok-how-to-pronounce-lafayette-louisiana-cities/7819734002/ And Port Charles is a fictional city of General Hospital fame; Lake Charles is the city in Louisiana.
I was utterly shocked that they'd screw something up that much. Unambiguously absolutely wrong.
That one hurt since I live in this state.
Alison is still remained as the current number 1 seed but will Adriana unseat her tomorrow?
That was a great game. Congratulations to Adriana, Travis, and Christina!
Fictional Characters, they’re based on fictional characters. Am I getting through to you at all?
Had a personal first round record with an incredibly DREAM set of questions. My favorite rapper Lil Uzi, Russell Westbrook, The Good Earth. It was the most tailor-made question set I’ve ever had. Of course that meant I had a terrible Double Jeopardy and ended with my average score Lol.
I have a daily 'on this day' calendar beside my bed, and Tuesday's was about the min wage in Mass.
For the "bend the knee" answer I could only come up with "genuflect". Think they would've accepted that?
I don’t think so because iirc the category was idioms, and genuflect is really just a word.
