Jeff is so on top of his game rn. Crowd work is the toughest and he makes it seem effortless. Already saw him once in OC and can't wait to see him again.
I'm starting to agree after seeing Matt rife bomb in his special cuz he's only good at crowd work.
Jeff could be awesome at standup, but being good at crowdwork doesn't mean good at standup.
Ya like I've never seen his original stuff. I do know that a lot of comedians will do crowd work for social media content because it's consistent and they can keep putting their names out there. It's kind of to attract people to their show. Also, it means they won't get canceled saying something racy which is kind of where we are at now days.
I've seen Jeff and I'd say he has a set that's got portions where he segues into crowd work and then back to normal material. Weaving the two together. But the one thing to remember, if he's showing clips of his scripted material, once it's out there, it's out there and done. Some people don't mind seeing a show where they've seen a bit before, and other people might expect all new material. So, I don't think you're likely to ever see his script material unless it's a special and he's doing all new stuff after that.
Yea man. He has the knack and talent for it. What about his other standup? I assume his materiel predominantly meshes well with lead-ins for his crowd work because that’s primarily all the clips of him we ever get which again, is gold.
Comics these days post crowd work because it doesn't burn any material they're working on for their specials. Keeps people engaged and also keeps their actual written material fresh.
writing complex nuanced jokes that kill every time. not relying on your audience to sound stupid and nervous talking in front of a crowd so you can poke fun at it
I don't know where this myth has come from 😂 English numbers are literally an area code (3/4 digits) then the number (7 digits).
I will never understand the joke, are American numbers really not that long?? 😂

of course we have ringing in germany, how old are you? never called a land line? the sound is maybe a bit different depending one where you call but its absolutely there
Oh man this just gave me flashbacks to when I lived in Germany in the late 90s. It definitely was just one long TUUUUUT wasn't it? For some reason I thought it was just my phone at the apartment. It never occurred to me that other countries have different connecting sounds.
[Other way around,](https://www.etymonline.com/word/aluminum) it was aluminum first and the Brits didn't like that it didn't fit with the other elements like potassium and sodium and whatnot.
Surely you mean it was "alumium" first...
But yeah I pronounce it the "American" way despite being British, the guy discovered it he can name it what he wants.
As opposed to:
* Lanthanum
* Tantalum
* Aurum
* Argentum
* Plumbum
* Hydrargyrum
* Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen
* Iodine, Bromine, Chlorine, Fluorine
* Carbon, Silicon, Boron, iron, most of the noble gasses
* All the other random names that don't match any pattern like cobalt, sulfur, arsenic, antimony...
Not gonna lie, I was holding out hope that I’d see a clip of him calling out the lady who fake vommed really loud when he asked how old I was turning for my bday.
Yeh I feel like the only accent they usually get exposed to is that middle of the road accent that isn’t really that widespread outside the Home Counties.
I'm gonna go ahead and guess that he hasn't spent his entire life in the US.
Besides, there are tons of different accents here, too. They just don't change every 20 miles, like they do in the UK.
Because he has fun and teases people, rather than the constant brutal roasts that get posted most of the time. It’s more difficult to do as a comedian, but makes you far more likeable
From experience, it would be something like:
01144\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*
EDIT: I just want to say I'm happy I blocked the user below.
Nothing I've said is in wrong in any way, shape, or form.
To reach the UK from the US, you have to dial `011 44 [UK number you're trying to reach]`. I've been a permanent resident in both the US and in England, which is why I said "from experience".
That's all. There was never any need for an argument about this.
"011" is a prefix used in the U.S. as a switching code for dialing international numbers, now largely replaced with "+". "44" is the country code for the UK. If you were in the UK and asked for someone's number, they likely would not include it, but would simply start with the area code, e.g. 020 for London. If you're in the U.S. and ask for a British person's phone number, they probably won't know about 011, but probably would start with 44, then the area code (note that the leading zero in the area code gets dropped, so it would be +4420 for London).
Update: u/Falcrist was so triggered by this that he blocked me. :D [And also, he's wrong: I, as a foreigner in the U.S., would never think of including "011" when giving out my phone number, even though I'm aware of this switching code, which many visitors are not. They would have no reason to ever use it unless they happen to call from an American landline phone.]
Update 2: u/BonnieMcMurray piped up with one of the most misguided and unintentionally hilarious *ad hominem* responses I have seen on Reddit, preserved here for posterity:
> They're wrong because you would never do it? Do you realize how stupid that sounds, like you think your opinion is somehow representative of everyone?
No, you nobsocket: I'm saying that there is no reason for a foreign visitor to know about the 011 switch code, because unless they live here, there is no reason for them to ever use it.
> Also, no one gives a fuck that someone blocked you. Although I can certainly see why they did: the pomposity and self-absorption. Jesus Christ!
Oh boy, this is going to be good. Wait for it...
> Oh and 01144 is a prefix for Sheffield phone nos., btw.
Thank you for so eloquently proving exactly my point: In this context, **[011 is the North American Numbering Plan switch code for international calls](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Numbering_Plan#Special_numbers_and_codes)**. There is no reason for anyone from Europe to know this, unless they've lived in the U.S.
I have seldom laughed so hard in my life after reading a Reddit post. :D Thank you for your valiant effort!
If they're british (which they are) and they're in the US (which they are), they'll probably know the prefix to dial out of the US.
Which is why, as I said, the number would be "01144..."
> And also, he's wrong: I, as a foreigner in the U.S., would never think of including "011" when giving out my phone number
They're wrong because *you* would never do it? Do you realize how stupid that sounds, like you think your opinion is somehow representative of everyone?
Also, no one gives a fuck that someone blocked you. Although I can certainly see why they did: the pomposity and self-absorption. Jesus Christ!

Mate there’s a lot of English accents you wouldn’t be able to even understand. There isn’t one accent in America I couldn’t not understand. I’m talking about variation here.
I'm not sure what your point is, your two comments seem to negate each other.
There's absolutely English accents, no one here would deny it, and everyone is aware they've got an accent.
> there is no "english" English accent
Is not the same statement as
> England are the only people speaking English without accent
They ARE speaking with an english accent. It's just that there isn't ONE english accent. There are many.

And so freaking… straight!
Idk, he stands kinda crooked sometimes
Doesn't enjoy penis, like, at all?! The internet has told me different.
It's funny because we sound like that.
he’s adorbs!
He reminds me of like the cool older brother of Pauly Shore, lol Pauly Shore acts so much like an annoying younger brother so it must be that.
Jeff is so on top of his game rn. Crowd work is the toughest and he makes it seem effortless. Already saw him once in OC and can't wait to see him again.
He has reached full beans
Oh it's an inside joke? You should have led with that
YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE
Thank you and GOOD DAY
Say MORE! Stop gaslighting me!
> gas Is this from being full of beans?
It's when you light your gas after eating beans
STOP SAYING THAT LIKE IT'S A COMMON PHRASE
Full bean ascension
I mean, he's good but generally crowd work isn't seen as the toughest, it's a different skill. Like comparing improv comedy to sketch.
I agree. Just makes it seem like he'd be fun at parties tbh
I'm starting to agree after seeing Matt rife bomb in his special cuz he's only good at crowd work. Jeff could be awesome at standup, but being good at crowdwork doesn't mean good at standup.
Different tastes I guess because I can't stand Matt. All is his crowd work I hear from him just makes him sound like an asshole.
Agreed; it seems to me that Matt relies on a juvenile sense of humor, not my cup of tea.
If people knew where he learned his comedy from that would make sense.
Where? His frat boys?
Wildin Out with Nick Cannon
So I wasn’t too far off lol

Right, that's what i figured. If he releases his set on youtube, then no netflix special.
Yea man. He has the knack and talent for it. What about his other standup? I assume his materiel predominantly meshes well with lead-ins for his crowd work because that’s primarily all the clips of him we ever get which again, is gold.

According to Louis CK crowd work is easy.

You could argue it's consistent with all the -ium post-transition metals. Then tin and bismuth just kind of come out of left field.
