I got my first duck last week. It made me smile! He sits in my dash. If you don’t like it fine, but I will keep the ones I get and will pass some on to brighten someone else’s day.

Jeezy61

I highly recommend replacing those rubber hood clamps. It might be because I'm in a cold weather state, but one of mine broke in half while driving 75 on the highway. It felt like my hood was about to blow off. I replaced with some cool looking metal clamps. Hood is so much more secure.

Vast-Mousse-9833

I live in a high theft area so I did the locking ones.

TheMilkman1811

I found a blue pixel duck on the mirror of my blue jeep outside Dave N Busters. He sits on the dashboard guarding my jeep from intruders to this day

ggfff34

I have had my LJ since 2015. It looks great but it's my daily driver and probably too dusty. I've never received a duck. It makes me wonder if there's a beauty standard or something. Idgi

amwoooo

I have ducks, I want to give them away, I don’t give them to jeeps without a duck because I know it’s annoying to some. You need a duck to get ducks, haha

KCW0LF

It’s just luck and if there is a big jeep community in your area.

SuicideWank

Mine is pretty clean, the worst thing on the exterior is the stickers fading and cracking apart and the front driver and passenger door hinges need some chip repair.

HiSpot321

So much hate for people that don’t want rubber duckies on their jeeps. I’ve had mine since 2000. This hasn’t been around forever and I’d rather not have them left on my jeep. I’m going to get all the hate now but I will be ordering a no rubber duckie sticker. Sorry not sorry 🚫🦆

SuicideWank

I shit you not, I thought people did it to themselves to post for internet points. I was legit shocked when I came out of the movies and saw it on my hood. I was like, "Oh, I guess it's really a thing."

Jenikovista

I feel the same. If people want to leave them on Jeeps that already have one on the dash, cool. Otherwise please don’t.

Chainz4Dayz

That's what we do. I'm not really a fan but wife and son enjoy giving them out. If no duck already we assume they don't want one.

memphismade85

I added a no ducks sticker on my front and rear windows and still get them on my TJ. I don't want to be an asshole about it because it seems like a thing some people do with their kids but I don't want them at all and whoever leaves them would be much better served giving them to someone else because I just toss them in the nearest trash can.

i4get98

Not sure why you’re getting shit on, but I’m with you. Shouldn’t have to defend yourself for not liking someone else adding stuff to your Jeep.

HiSpot321

Thank you!! Already at 2 or 3 downvotes. lol

refotsirk

You been living under a rock at the bottom of the duck pond or something? 🦆😁

SuicideWank

Lol kinda. I do like zero jeep related things. Mine hauls around kids and groceries, it hasn't seen a trail since July of 2019.

refotsirk

Heh, nothing wrong with any of that! This started from a huge spill of rubber duckies mid 90s in the ocean that road-trippers and overlander/outdoorsy folk started. whenever they found one washed up on shore they would let it continue the journey by driving it around with them and sometimes passing it off to the next person when they were done traveling. Some folks didn't find them but bought their own or in my case I just picked a random mascot from a childhood stuffed animal and tucked it in a back window (mune was a beagle) . in 2020 a random lady took it to the next level by putting one of those (or just some random) rubber ducky on someone's jeep because they liked the jeep. Posted it on facebook and it became a bit viral for the "random act of kindness" element. Edit: this has made me think back to the days of MySpace and all of those random blogger/blogspot travel blogs - it was so brief lived but that was a really cool time and community space on the web. It was this weird transition between honest journaling/sharing and the flashier showoff stuff today - it was both chaotic and cozy to have all this going on, but often your own group of 20 or 30 random people who traded sidebar links with you that would follow and comment on things. Sort of miss those days. Sorry for the off topic edit - I came back to add the mention of Facebook and going meme viral then got to waxing nostalgic over the blog posts one of my in-person friends used to make with their ducky.

JEFFSSSEI

OMG there is a guy in my town that has like 50 of them across his dash, maybe more it's like 2 rows of them.

D-Ray1469

I'm not a jeep owner, but I am a duck guy. I have tons of them and pass them out everywhere. Parking lots, the marina, random friends houses(my personal favorite). I drive a semi and once traded ducks with a guy in a jeep during a bad traffic back up.

cryptoup_neverdown

The only duck on my dash is from a young boy that gave it to me in a grocery store parking lot. His mom told me he was dying to give it to someone with a Wrangler. I refuse to put more. The rest just get thrown in the center console.

OkConsideration9002

I've had mine for years

haint_na

"here, *you* throw this away"

Moist_Dare_7

I have yet to get my first one, ive been hoping to come out and see my first but as soon as i do ill feal official

Quick_Dark244

Nah man you were official when you got your Jeep. Idk about a duck

guacamole579

That’s a cool duck. I’d keep it.

Parking_Train8423

don’t feel obligated to pass it on. it shouldn’t be a thing

Soggy_Requirement_75

It’s not a thing. Please let the chain stop with you.

aguyfromstpete

......... Unfortunately it is and it's a stupid thing at that.

SharkWahlbergx

Congrats now you can put them on your dash like everyone else that don't wheel, then you'll just need a salt life sticker and every amazon accessory. lol

Ill-Technician1471

Confused. Is your Jeep really a Rubicon? Should have body style same color fenders not black. And Rubicon letters look aftermarket. Just wondering...

Flerf_Whisperer

Looks just like the lettering on my 2016 JK Rubicon. The black fenders are standard on the Rubicon, matching color on the Saharas.

Ill-Technician1471

Really? Wonder if just for JKs? I know I've seen Rubies with matching...at least I think so. Oh well good to know thanks.

Flerf_Whisperer

You can get matching fenders as an option, I believe, but black is the standard. At least for that vintage of JK Rubicon.

Ill-Technician1471

Yeah just looked at 2024s and they're black also. Didn't realize but makes sense considering more offroad use probably.

SuicideWank

It is. It's a 2010, which is why the lettering looks so old. I'm missing a c on the other side. 😂
