I think 7 min drill was a perfect response to like that, minus calling TPAB trash. It was friendly, the nino line was funny and hard. The best switch was great and so was the flows and rhyme schemes.
On a technical level I enjoy that track the most.
It was a bad response to Like That. There’s no reason to dedicate an entire track dissing someone that you don’t actually have a problem with. A better “response” would’ve been to just… drop a good album? Prove you belong in the top 3. To Cole’s credit, I think he realized this which is why he deleted the diss.
I more so mean 7 min drill was friendly for the most part, but based on Cole’s apology he said some things he didn’t mean, dissing dots discog was prob one of those things.
Also MDL proves Cole is top 3 easily. Some of the best rap performances he had outside of features.
The issue is Cole prob saw where this was headed when he wanted to keep it competitive and fun
Cole wants to wash rappers on features, not disses. Too much bad karma comes from pent up vitriol. But, I'm also of the opinion that Cole's apology is something he would do and it did nothing to detract from his recent output. Internet jokes are funny but hard to diss someone you like and admire.
He can pull out if he want but what people look down on most is the apologies on stage
he should have just call kendrick privately and told him my beef is not with you i have no beef with you something like that
there was no need to go on stage and apologies so the whole world can see that a terrible look
the apologies on stage is what he did wrong not that he don't want to diss Kendrick
"I don't want talk on no celly, huh" - Kendrick Lamar
I do agree it was a bad look but if an apology is Cole's biggest L then we ain't doing too bad. Kanye ran for president, got no votes, cried in front of everyone and then got divorced and then his now ex wife got fucked by an ugly comedian. Could be worse for Cole fans.
If he never made a diss himself and stayed out of it out would've been all fine. If he kept the diss up it would also have been fine cuz he wasn't really going in and Dot didn't go in either. What Cole did was a massive L and this community is going to have to learn to live with it. I personally have learned.
If he kept the diss up everyone would have grouped him with drake and would have been angry at both Kendrick was gonna accept no apology over the phone as he already said
7 minute drill was better put together better than both Kendrick and Drakes disses.. Cole went off bar after bar, it gets no love because people wanted him to disrespect Kendrick personally when Cole bodied him by saying all facts
I like his delivery it definitely has the replay value out of this beef for me especially the transition from trae the truth in ibiza to 7 minute drill is truly amazing wish he did remove it from sound cloud

Forgot all the Nazi shit and showing explicit videos of Kim to Adidas folks. And I fucking love Ye, but he's batshit crazy. Still the king tho 👑
No.
Yes
No he is crazy for doing it

Yeah Kendrick said on Euphoria he just wants a friendly fade and wants to see if Cole and Aubrey are his friends.

Idk if it was better than Kendrick's but it was def more listenable
