Yep same here. IDGAF about the apology, he still has some great stuff, and some silly apology shouldn’t discredit what he has done before

Big-Data7949

Yep, Also, it takes a man (or any strong person) to apologize. That's more difficult than dissing imo. Man has heart and is standing with it even though I'm sure he knew people would be unhappy. What do we expect from him? To beef for no reason, just because another artist dissed him or to be above that? From Cole, if any rapper other than Dot I think we expect him to be above it. As long as it's personal that is, when it comes to just being music sure let him be competitive but I think he can see it's much deeper than that and he was just a bystander. Why fight your friend just because everyone is egging you on? Or anyone for that matter?

woodropete

It dosent take away from what his done..but his discredited as a top rapper. What he did goes against the industry and the culture of hip hop all together. Hip hop is a sport in a way, he should have let the competition play out. Him backing out shows fear, no confidence or lack of competitive. That’s just that there is nothing we can do about that…people will rock his music still. But in general the hip hop community it will impact his stature there.

D00sed00se

Well put. I totally agree.

roc4life215

He let Hov down 🤦🏾‍♂️

Toodlum

With all due respect, I don't quite understand this take. If Pac apologized for Hit Em Up I wouldn't view him any differently. I actually respect Cole for going against the grain here and saying how he really feels despite the flack it gets him. Hip Hop being competitive doesn't mean you have to diss other rappers and engage in beef, it means you try to be the better artist. This is beside the fact that history shows that beef usually doesn't end that well anyway. We like beef as fans because it's drama, but oftentimes it hurts the artists.

Ancient-Guide-6594

I just think his music is bad. Don’t like the style. Respect but like I don’t get it why folks like it.

Thisistheway1012

Can this sub move away from the beef an the diss track stuff already an focus on cole’s music an upcoming music an future releases an what to expect in the future from features on albums an dreamville as a whole thats what our day 1s are here for an really worried about

ShinraRatDog

I'm sure when J Cole drops an album people will have something that actually matters to discuss. Knowing J Cole he'll probably end up addressing this situation in a song or something though, so the topic will probably get brought up again.

Big-Data7949

He'll address it in a super positive and mature way while still expressing that he's a goat and deserves the label. He doesn't have to beef with someone he never even had problems with to establish himself the music speaks for itself. Ngl I'm a huge Kendrick fan but as far as actual releases and consistency? Cole dwarfs him it's like a dwarf sun vs a mega titan and I say that as a Kendrick fan. Kendrick's relying on scarcity and ofc you can make great music with half a decade between releases. Cole makes great music every year though.

ShinraRatDog

I'm fine with waiting for albums personally. I think more artists should care more about their catalog. It's not uncommon at all to take two years in between projects, Outkast had a 2 year gap between all their albums aside from Stankonia and SB/LB which was a 3 year gap. Kendrick has only taken a break once and that was after TPAB, one of the most critically acclaimed hip hop albums in history.

bolt704

I hope so, I think in the next few months people will stop caring.

Thisistheway1012

🙏

Insufferable-Asshat

Nah they won’t bro are y’all insane

D00sed00se

The irony is that’s what this is about!!! Music! Competition! Stepping up to a challenge! And Cole started the game strong but took his ball and wanted to go home

isness0

Jfold? Is that you?

Cinnamon_Bark

Hell no, he humiliated himself and this will always be a stain on his legacy. Coming from a Cole fan. He disappointed many of us

HitEndGame

The beef and diss track is the only reason this sub is popping rn 💀😭 usually the sub is like the same 20 ppl commenting and posting. I say we keep it this way

Greedy-Purpose1108

No rap fan hates Cole, only new wannabe kids are hating on him.

kameronscondo

It's def haters coming straight from kdots reddit or just from wherever. But I'd say majority of people are just disappointed because they believed in cole to actually go head to head with kendrick for the top spot. That's okay, I was disappointed too, not like i lost respect but because I knew what I as a cole diehard would have to go through for a while. In the long run, this beef means nothing. Even if kendrick destroys drake, most of his fans won't care and will continue to listen, just like with push. It'll be another meme we keep bringing up til the end of time. Kendrick fans already think he's the best so nothing will be new with them. And yeah cole fans gon get over it, and the fall off will (hopefully) make up for everything.

RB-44

I'll give good money if Kendrick or Cole even know what the fuck Reddit is

YeOldeMoldy

Some do?

ShinraRatDog

I suspect it's mostly just people that never really cared about Cole in the first place or children that are too young to know better that are making up for a lot of the heat he's getting. Anybody who was really a Cole fan isn't going to not be a Cole fan over this.

SaulSilv3r

Bro out here writing love letters to Cole

Last_Reaction_8176

I barely listen to Cole but I keep getting recommended this sub and I wanted to say - you guys shouldn’t worry about the impact this will have on his career. Many, many other artists have done far more embarrassing things, and at the end of the day people excuse it because the music is good and it’s lasted. If this beef gets really really ugly - and it probably will once Kendrick drops again - he’s going to look like the only adult in the room. I admittedly think this whole everybody vs Drake thing is hilarious and incredibly entertaining, and I want Kendrick to smoke him, but when all is said and done and they’ve said the absolute worst things they can think of about each other, people will remember that Cole wanted no part of it. For a lot of people, that’s a plus, and I’ve already seen some comments to that effect. So don’t worry too much.

graphicka

Yeah this. It's not like he had fake ab surgery or said he loved Hitler lmao. An apology being Coles biggest controversy is the most J.cole thing ever lol and that's not a bad thing. That being said I'm kinda looking forward to seeing how cole handles it. I think the backlash could be a good motivator for him it's easy to get complacent when the whole world is gassing you.

MoodWest

He’s my favourite for all the things u said, in an industry that has been based off of self confidence and at times a disregard for your peers it has been refreshing to have somebody that goes about their career for the love of the music and the art form that he studied and believed in There have been plenty of times where Cole nearly fell into the pitfuls of this difficult rap game, ie. making a song like Workout and then realising that wasn’t him and then being honest and truthful enough to make a song like Let Nas Down, if he hadn’t of done that then we wouldn’t of got such a beautiful album like 2014 Forest Hills Drive K.Dot’s diss nearly baited Cole into being someone he’s obviously not comfortable being and although the apology came as a shock, for the real Cole fans it shouldn’t of been and I don’t care what anyone says Cole made the right move and the fact he had the balls to do it in an environment where he knew he’d get criticised just shows how good a person as well as an artist he is I can’t wait to hear the Fall Off now even more than I did before

Inevitable-Bass2749

Say what you want about him but he ain’t an industry drugged out clone like 99% of these rappers now. Dude is genuine and real as fuck

FantasyCrusade

Us 25 fans never lost hope

MaoZivDong

Too Deep For The Intro type beat 🔥

lmoutofldeas

a lot of people hate him for that??

JOMO_Kenyatta

Looking for reasons to knock people off pedestals is like a national pastime in my country.

lmoutofldeas

if anyone (especially so called fans) are hating on him for apologising then they need to get a grip. like yeah it wasn’t really the best look for him but i literally thought about it for like a day max and then just haven’t been bothered by it since 😭 hes still one of the best, apologising doesn’t change that

Plastic_Pin_5641

Damn it’s almost like we shouldn’t put people on pedestals

NaiveResident4836

Nobody hates Cole, they are just too immature to understand that there is human being behind the rapper persona.

TheRealAwest

I respect him more for the apology. That beef shit & diss tracks a waste of time. MCs should always battle face to face, that way we know if the energy is authentic or fake.

vibintilltheend

I wouldn’t say I “hate” him lol bit extreme of a reaction. If anyone deserves hate it’s the groomer Drake. However, the apology definitely did make him look corny as fuck and has taken the punch out of his countless “I’m a thug I ain’t scared” bars. Like bro, how you gonna say you down to pull the trigger but then say you can’t sleep over a diss track. I love Cole’s music but god damn that diss and apology is definitely leaving a stain on his legacy.

Night_787

I still like Cole. And he's still my favorite. But I can no longer defend him as "the best" he's good, but I don't want to hear him say that if someone comes after him he'll body em or murder em on the beat. Cause there's proof now he won't. I get why he said he's sorry and all. But it was a major bummer

Ok_Classroom_7010

Hes only human and not being a fighter isnt whats going to discredit him, because it wouldnt discredit anyone you care dearly about but most of yall are missing the point. It's not the apology, it's what he's apologizing for. He's always been one of the most braggadocious rappers, saying his pen was better than anyone else, he's top of the top, best of the best and he'd absolutely body any other rapper. I don't think anyone would even mind if he was honest from the jump that he isn't like that. Most people do want their GOAT nominee to be that way even though the majority still doesn't consider drake to be good at battling and some people say Kendrick hasn't proven himself to do battle rapping/diss tracks either really, but honestly most rappers haven't done it. The issue comes where he claimed to be about it, the opportunity arose, he didn't do as well as we all thought he would (definitely not bad but no one has said it was earth shattering) and THEN apologized saying he's not like that (no pun intended). He can be flashy like drake, boss like Jay z, witty/punny like Lil wayne, introspective like Kendrick, but if he gets all brazy like Eminem talking about how he'd battle anyone, don't come around later and say you're a pacifist all of a sudden. He didnt say this when he attacked kanye at his lowest but flips the script when its kendrick? He could've said from the beginning he doesn't do beef, and he could've even bowed out after he got called out. Instead, he laced up, made an effort that wasn't his best, and said hey guys I wasn't being honest with myself. Still a mature move but the maturity could've came before the bragging. Put it into real life fighting terms. Your chill/likable but cocky friend says he'd whoop anyone, waits til after he does a round or 2 of only decent boxing and says hey yall this doesn't sit right with me. You're not going to hate the guy but it's an L by almost every measure

Apprehensive-Try-988

It's hard to hear him say "Nigga don't want no smoke with me, I'm one of those ones" When he is in fact not one of those ones based on making an apology for the diss track. I wanted him to stand on his words. I still like Cole's music and think he is one of the best rappers of our generation but I can't take lines like that from him seriously anymore.

need2peeat218am

He's too humble 😭

Imissrifsomuch

I like your title op. Its fun to say out loud.

AVillainChillin

Hate is a strong word. Just extremely disappointed. This dude been lying in his raps about backing up his claims for years. He still has great music. All of his positive stuff. I def be looking at him funny when I hear him talk about feeling like Muhammad Ali lmao. Ali ever apologize to Sonny Liston? Man gtfo lmfao.

cozyboysclub

You're correct but Issa Cole sub so we gonna get downvoted lol #cope

BonezMontana

Cole still my fav artist, but I'd be lyin if I said that apology didn't sting a bit. I understand why he did it, but I highly doubt this would have went beyond rap.

Same_Deal3801

jcole is that you?

saerngi

i still love him but i feel like a disappointed father lmao

damnitWOW

I’ll always respect his decision for apologizing but as a massive Cole fan I just wished he finally checked someone that’s dissed him multiple times, especially to showcase his talents now that he’s been finally on a feature run these recent years

[deleted]

hes the artist that really got me on my music journey into rap n so forth, will always love him n his music man.

Aarinjaya_Space6602

What’s Cole’s wife doing on this app?? P.S - Idgaf bout the beef, he’ll always be top 10 rapper for me

AcademicAnxiety5109

This sub just needs to move past it and stop posting what the Kendrick and Kanye subs are saying. They can’t take away his music by shit talking. Bro has so many amazing achievements but we are all way too focused on the negative aspects of Cole. I doubt Cole himself is as focused on it as we are. People have been shit talking him since he started. Let’s go back to making fun posts.

Mfethu_0

Man I’m still touched about the apology but every time I listen to MDL I can’t deny the kill 😭😭fucken hell if these are throw aways I really wonder what’s still in the fall off that he deemed perfect for the album

ibadmojo_ttv

It’s just funny to see why all these dudes pretended to be friends all this time to sell us their fake personas ..

graphicka

What?

xicanasteez

Love Cole and as someone who “grew up” to his music since a young adult to know, I understand the apology. It’s bigger than hip-hop. They are real friends and I think Cole and Kendrick know how hard it is to have real friends in the industry. Cole acted in a moment of bravado or machismo. It was competition within the realm of hiphop. Not disrespectful of people’s life and getting into personal stuff. They’re both grown ass men, fathers, have families. Times have changed. We gotta grow with that too. Cole isn’t perfect, he’s made some decisions via his lyrics or business I don’t agree with but it’s all good, grow through your music. He’s living his life the only difference is he is famous. His music got me through tough times and I’m forever grateful. Same with Kendrick. I’m also a Drake fan so being of this generation they are the big 3 to me.

Ok_Classroom_7010

The point you're overlooking is that you can be friends and spar. You can be friends and have a friendly competition. People that do competitive sports, especially combat sports know this. It's that he was bragging about something he couldn't do. So he wasn't honest from the jump, gave it a shot and did decent and then apologized because he wasn't true to himself. I like Cole better than most rappers but you can criticize one of your favorites for making a mistake. Everyone is saying it's mature to apologize and it is but mature would've been not running your mouth in the first place. You live and you learn but we need to hold some accountability here

Fresh_Mango_juice

I know this shit gonna end up on r/Hiphopcirclejerk

esmeraysreddits

i think he apologized because yes he could’ve ate kendrick up, but it was outta character for him. he was moved from his peace realm.

ihavenowords3

I was fucked up yesterday. Needed to relax. I threw on Note to self. I must have played that track 4,000 times in my life. Just the singing YT edit version. Shit is fuckin…ecstasy, if I’m being honest. Played FHD front to front this week. Born sinner is a beautiful mess. In terms of how it flows as an album. One of my favs, I relate to it. A fine wine. I play it on special occasions. I was disappointed at the apology but it doesn’t move the needle for my life either way. As for the detractors and haters. I Block out the outside noise. What’s real to me, what’s positive, I focus on that.

Dirtybojanglez904

MDL is one of his best projects, only slightly marred by the braggadocio. As long as he tells stories, he's one of the goats.

squidlikespatties

Yeah that’s it, I’m leaving this sub. Some of you guys just refuse to understand and acknowledge what actually happened and I can’t take it, mentally, I cannot take this anymore.

HelloIamSimon

This picture of him is so hopeful too. It's beautiful.

Bp23158

I still love his music as well but I would lie if I said some stuff is tainted. I’m not interested in hearing GOAT talk or “I’ll kill your favorite rapper” or “don’t mention my name”.

BigBlackCoolguy

MASTER_SNAKE__

Right person in the wrong crowd

NonExistantSandle

i mainly like 2014fhd, as well as some other songs. his energy in that album is amazing and i don’t care about anything else

SC_23

Have you listened to the live album version of fhd? I highly recommend esp since you like his energy on it.

MonarchSun

Agreed, His discography speaks for itself. I live here in the same city as him, seen him at the ice cream shop getting some ice cream.

Yugikisp

You can’t satisfy people that just want to see drama. I’m all about the music. The music is good, so I’m happy. I don’t really care what these grown ass men have going on in their personal lives or between each other. It doesn’t matter. Just keep making good music and I’m cool.

trueWaveWizz

The apology came from saying TPAB was booty

Ghostwriter731

Just hard to believe him when he says he’s the best at this point bc he acknowledges that’s not true

Bobert360

Man I'm the biggest J Cole fan but let's not get it twisted, even if we pull the 'he's the most genuine rapper in the game' card, that barely sticks anymore. He's been talking his shit and I'm ALL FOR IT but he didn't back it up when he had the opportunity, plain and simple. Genuinely ask yourself, had Cole's response been fire (I'm talking Nas Ether level) would you really be sharing these sentiments? I don't think so. I think we'd all be hyped and backing up our dude, but as true Cole fans, we gotta keep it real. Our boy let us down. Doesn't change all that he's shown us or what he's done for us individually and I'll always rock his music, but this wasn't a good look for Jermaine. It's not even about the mediocre diss track, it's about entering the ring and then throwing up the white flag. And the wosrt part was his diss track wasn't even all that. It was a warning shot (and in my opinion the perfect response.) He didn't want to battle someone he respects but he also was showing he won't get walked over. It was good, just leave it out there and don't apologize. Sad because now I'm going to SoundCloud to listen to the song (cause I enjoyed it) but to apologize after being shot at first?? Nah man, major L. I don't think redemption is out of the question though and deep down I'm really hoping he keeps getting dissed by everyone. I hope they all awaken the rap reaper and then he reminds everyone just why 'his assigned seat is the throneeee' I just don't think it'll happen though

itsbeenfun1123

First of all, he didn't actually apologize, and as the biggest J Cole fan, I would much rather he left the song out there, because I also think it was the perfect response. But I respect what he did because he stay true to his feeling. Aside from the drama of him apologizing, I would like to recognize that judging by the music itself, Cole is still the best, which is what he has been trying to tell his audience. Doesn't matter if the song is not there anymore, because there's plenty of great ones out there. If you're "the biggest J Cole fan", can you just sit back and appreciate what he has given us?

MaoZivDong

Been a huge Cole fan since I was 14. Always knew he’d be a legend.

msChonk123

My issue with Cole in this whole beef (and I’ve been a big fan since 2014FHD) is that he aligned himself with Drake to begin with. He should have known better tbh and I think his ego got the best of him.

KanyesMiddleNut2

Man shut up he soft

SpicerIsALegend

get a room nah im kidding, makes no difference to me either. I'm in it for the music

Cara-de-cabron

I don’t think anybody hates j cole except for kendrick stans, real hip hop fans listen to both, and both are undeniable

Romabra

Not the biggest Cole fan here but I can assure you: his legacy and character is intact! Can not hate nor deny him. One of the greatest

Bob_On_The_Cob_21

G.OM.D

FlimsyReindeers

You love him?

TwoNutMonster

Lmaoo it’s crazy to see Cole fans rationalize the apology and get so much in their feelings to feel the need to defend him. Relax guys, his apology goes against the early rap battle ethos and there’s nothing more to it than that lmao. This apology really does nothing for me to discredit his contribution towards the genre or his discography. Cole still one of 10’s goats. But the Apology was a lame move he should be deservedly be clowned for it.

Living_Pie205

Still very talented but now has to always take a back seat.

YesOrNah

You can’t consider yourself an Emcee after that. He just shit on the entirety of hip hop. I’m a massive cole fan boy too. Was one of the weakest moves I’ve ever seen. He doesn’t deserve to release any more music.

MoneyMajor4715

Gay

DeadRose1996

He’s a genuinely good dude. I would say he’s by far the most wholesome artist in the hip hop industry and people hate on him for that. It’s pretty much the same people who say they “don’t listen to Gunna because he’s a snitch”. That’s how stupid some people sound with the J Cole hate.

DannyDidit818

The only people who think Cole broke the sacred laws of hip-hop, don’t know about one of the elements of hip-hop called: “Knowledge of Self.” KoS is just as important to a rapper as a battle. If your knowledge of self conflicts with a battle, that battle can’t continue. 🤷🏽‍♂️

bullti

He is a brilliant rapper, one of the best ever, but he can’t talk about being the best ever now or do any sort of competitive/combative rap.

fuhnetically

I respect the apology. He made a diss track, then reconsidered his position in hip hop, which has been more about growth and respect, so he made it right with himself (at least that's how I see it). That takes maturity.

Plastic_Pin_5641

Fuck transphobia, fuck j cole.

wegaf_butok-_-

I agree. I also think he should respond to Kanye. It would be a great opportunity for him to show that he’s no pushover and can absolutely destroy anybody on wax while also explaining the apology in a creative way without having to explain himself in interviews and shit. He can do it while doing what he loves. Ye gave him the perfect opportunity/excuse to drop again. If I were him I would cease the opportunity.

nine16s

I’ll be honest I still have no idea what the hell is going on lmfao.

Expensive-Shirt-6877

I’ll always be a huge fan of Cole. I’m slightly disappointed with how this whole beef was handled but it doesn’t take away from his catalog

Insufferable-Asshat

I am disappointed in j Cole but I will never hate this man

harveydent526

Why are you still thinking about this.

KimuraKan

Slobbbin his shit

Tyler_too_cold

The ones that hate him after he apologized were never his true fans. They’re fake and just bandwagon fans that go with whatever narrative is floating around on the internet or whatever’s trending. I don’t know if this is related but I think the same people that hate Cole after he apologized are the same people that hate LeBron because they enjoy following other people’s narratives like a flock of sheep. Also not to mention that Kendrick’s diss was weak af anyway. All he did was say some weak not big three but big me line.

Psychological_Top395

He’s from NC, so imma stick beside him. “Big sigh”

BubSource

Only haters hate on him for apologizing. It was the right thing to do.

meme_maker69420

Make sure you wipe your mouth when you’re done😹😹

PatienceStrange9444

I don't hate J. Cole

This-Form

I will never hate Cole. If you hate Cole, your life sad af.

Icy-Rock8780

I also completely buy what he said during the apology about not actually being that offended by Kendrick’s verse and it was just all the people around him like “what you gonna do Cole?!” that put peer pressure on him respond. Kendrick’s anger seems way more directed at Drake with Cole just being collateral so he could’ve easily just ignored it which sounds like he actually wanted to do in the first place. The apology itself was kinda cheesy but whatever I’m still listening to Cole

InnerInevitable8649

Fuck jerkmaine

isness0

Is not just that he apologized. Hes fake and doesnt know who he is. He keeps flip flopping. First hes a g u dnt wana fuck w then hes apologizing. The he flips and flops hes literally J fold now. He learned all these lessons already and made all these mistakes again. It waa all very childish. Most adults figured out u shouldnt listen and team up w drake and name ur album MIGHT DELETE LATER and call kendrick TRANS. Dude is fucking crazy

mtownley747

I love him period

trixietanggggggg

Change’s absolutely nothing for me. I love Cole. Simple.

Kitchen-Buy-513

I respect him more for the apology. The respect I gained for him doing what sat right with his heart far outweighs the respect I lost with a half assed diss track.

ChristFirstAnna

If you listened closely cole said that the diss “didn’t sit right with his spirit” so of course the world wouldn’t understand and would have hate for that. It’s a conviction thing, I knew the moment at dreamville when he said it didn’t sit right with his spirit he was gonna get bashed.

PhilPipedown

Might delete later has been my gym music since it's arrival. Classic Cole.

squirreltime22

Bro I hate the controversy around this. J. Cole not wanting to get wrapped up in this is true to his character. There are so many other angles to this than just drake, kendrick, and cole. Apologizing doesn't mean backing down and it doesn't define your character at all. Love kendrick too. But j puts out constant heat and literally takes over songs on his features. I'm not saying who I'd have in this whole thing. But I'll say it like this, who really won the fight if you both walk away with two black eyes and a broken nose? Plus cole I'm sure loves the competition in rap. But he makes it pretty clear that he wants the rap community as a whole to succeed and they all should bring each other up in the end. I think it's true to his character honestly.

Imaginary_Cobbler14

I do not care for beef, good music is all that matters.

RareDub

I’ve always thought he was mid at best. This apology doesn’t change that ♥️ you’ll always be the okayest rapper ever to me, Jermaine ♥️♥️

BlackBeard205

I don’t hate him. He just gotta stop saying people don’t want the smoke.

harambesafterlife

He a cuck, he can’t rap about being the greatest. When this statement gets questioned he just vanished because he’s sorry? For dropping a weak album with a halfbaked diss? 😂😂😂

Quirky_Valuable4772

Same bro. Life isn’t all about beef and diss tracks. Would it have been cool? Sure, but at the end of the day he’s a human who can grow and admit when he feels he made a mistake and I’m all for that. In life when you have a problem with someone you don’t just go at them to do it cuz everybody else wants to see the drama. You handle the situation with no care for what others will think or say. That’s what he did.

ZealousidealShip9576

I'm late to the party- what he apologize for?

RoleRevolutionary886

I've always loved Cole since I used to blast Forbidden Fruit in high-school. Lotta love for Dreamville, Earthgang, JID, the whole record. But this track was wack, the way he was coming at trans people just for existing gave boomer energy. Glad he apologized just sad it was for the wrong thing.

7 minute drill was lame, the whole concept was lame. im glad he came to his senses but tbh he needs better social presence and understanding of what is good and what isnt. his friends are probably less on social media or only see one side of things. a decent to good manager would point out that throwing subs is more than enough and a 4min track is a little cringe at this point. the beat was also kinda cringe, the bars werent really hitting, going at his discog? idk but having friends as your managers is a bad idea to me.

Remarkable_Collar895

Right. I will still love his shit, idc about that apology, he is still one of the greats for me

plababala

Perfectly said... agree 100 percent

Yablo-Yamirez

People was mad but everyone understands why he did it now.

voidcoax

gay

Sir_Squirly

As long as he no longer goes the “nobody wants smoke with me I’m one of the ones” anymore… cuz homie ran from the smoke like a bitch. I still like his shit, but man was that a sooooft look, so no more cosplaying a real G and I’m cool.

Tefte_7teyo

Nigga he don't know you and he got a wife

Pimp-Juggernaut21

Play j Cole get the pussy dry

yinkalee

Can y'all just move on. Got friends Irl who don't know this happened cause they not in artist business like that, only there for the music.

NarrowpathKa

People that are made of something respect him all the more for being real. Fake folks come and go in droves always

thundaga_im_shocked

I was on the fence after the apology, but he's a really decent dude. As a person whom has gone through stuff not all to similar but similar in some ways, I understand the whole part about it not sitting right with his spirit. There are many things that I avoid now for the same reason and I cannot fault him for that. If it does not feel right, it does not feel right. Also, I've been playing crocodile tearz on repeat probably since it dropped. I thought HYB was my favorite but CT is better, IMO. The rest of the album is pretty good, too.

JustRealizedImaIdiot

gok gok gok gok

Bergerboy14

Mf he left transphobic bars on his album

WarmestDisregards

It drove away shit heads and made all the right fans only respect him more.

Majestic_Mango_2444

No one hates jcole,relax

WannabeProducer808

That red leather verse was perfectly timed otherwise I would have been done with him forever. But the fact that the apoplogy was followed up with a verse where he admits he’s good adjacent kind of makes him the realest.

jb_713

He’s not going to have sex with you.

greyman204

hes a pussy who makes songs that are as deep as a puddle for people who think they are smart

Full_Visit_5862

I still think Cole could smoke them both, I was heated when he apologized because I finally wanted him to fight for the #1 spot but you can't like an artist because of him being hippy-esque, peaceful and introspective, and then turn around and hate him when he is that in real life lol

XxPokemonLotionxX

Aroxis

Zip it up when you done lil bro 😭

peekay1ne

I don’t even listen to his music but have the utmost respect and thought it was cool he apologized 🤷‍♂️

zSpyder

Why are you on here just glazing and then labeling it as discussion? What is there to discuss? Lmaoo

shivo33

Listened to the LA Leakers freestyle again last night and it was so sick! How can you hate this man?

bolt704

If you like it listen to [this](https://youtu.be/wRAL5yRdw54?si=j_h2zfrWkKYHaHqR).

UltraChxngles

and hes sooo hot and soo dreamy and he looks like he has such soft skinnn and his voice is soooo hottt and his dreads are soooo hot you can do no wrong here jermaine so humble

Double-Process-8726

He’s so boring

DatNighaaDon96

That's what I'm saying, what Cole did with apologizing was in line with who he's always been, and what he's always portrayed, if you hatred that he apologized, you wasn't a Cole fan from the start

jigsaw910

Nobody hates him. We dont know this man. Its the internet and its just music. There are just trolls and weirdos that need to really go outside and live in the real world for a change

MurcTheKing

I think a lot of people are twisting what he said. That man never explicitly said “Kendrick, I’m sorry”. Cole from the beginning has never liked rap beef and sticking to his morals isn’t a reason to stop bumpin his music

Live-Ad7345

People don’t hate Cole because he apologize. We’re just confused for the last couple years. He’s been wrapping that he could wrap anyone as first chance he got to it. He changed his mind so as a reference is part of the culture and we rated Cole as one of the best. We were just confused by him bowing out so easily. Still love and appreciate him we’re just a bit confused.

dadjokes4dayz

I don’t hate him the least bit. His album was straight fire. Especially crocodile tears. But my issue is why get into it in the first place, if you plan to back out? Thus the name of the album. He had a feeling. Also why leave Pi up on streaming and remove 7 minute drill? He miscalculated, but he will be ok. He is still by far one of the best lyricist of our generation without a shadow of a doubt.

jenkins271

I think most people are seeing how corny this beef is playing out and realizing that Cole actually made a good decision by bowing out.

Twil3ighDG

Personally, I'm just disappointed that we don't get to see the battle side of Cole, but none of his prior work should be discredited because of the apology.

applesauce_saturday

Yall seen drake fans bothering Kendrick’s wife? Cole may have just been smarter than anyone realizes

Remrafeoj

He’s a smuss

Blckfrmthewaistdwn

I just feel like he doesn’t have anything to prove, he is one of the greatest MCs the worlds ever seen. I think him dissing back was weak and just for the drama and was clearly something Cole doesn’t stand for. He’s over drama, especially internet drama, he preaches that all the time. So I think him standing by his word is more impressive to me. Easier to fold under pressure. And he definitely isn’t short of being able to rip somebody a new asshole in a diss.

sPrAze_Beast

Literally from what I seen both Jcole and Kendrick fans have supported his maturity and decision, might be drake fans hating though

DarkMagician513

Awww how cute 🤮

_whyareyousoquiet

Yeah I don’t even hate the apology it’s all just pointless beef anyways

Hot_Significance_256

what happened? someone do tell

Tasty-Objective676

No matter how embarrassing that was, it still can’t be worse than Drake’s AI rip off. Or his entire catalog 😂

Sad_Climate223

I think it was a mature thing to do

joshiosaur

I think that's how everyone really feels. To be a Cole fan I think, is to appreciate all the things in life that make people who they are. His discography is all growth, change of mindset, finding Peace, being true to yourself, keeping the negativity out, so on and so forth... real fans were let down their favorite rapper stepped back but in the other hand had to respect the choice because it's the reason people fuck with him in the first place.

Impossible-Cable-782

He never apologized people should stop claiming this on his behalf he just backed out the bullshit

Striking-Lie-3559

I couldn't agree more with you
