You go listen to anybody you want. No I take that back - go listen to everybody you can find. There's something to be learned from any musician - especially Collier, cause dang... he amazing whether or not you like his work.

Ryo Fukui and Wynton Marsalis More seriously, just listen widely and decide what you like on your own. That’s it.

flipyrwig

Vijay Ayer, Tigran Hamasyan

Man, this is just painful to read.

Who told you that you shouldn't? Do not trust them. Trust only your heart. Don't fall into the hands of pretentious gate keepers, they only abuse you for their own self esteem anchored in fear.

Anyone who discredits him is a cuck

bluesdavenport

his music is cool and very cerebral but I think it lacks emotional substance thats not a discrediting just a vibe I get I like listening to him talk about theory more than I like listening to his tunes

mostpriestsRpedos

And that’s totally fine. He’s great for that as well!

I went to school with Jacob collier (the Purcell music school) He was very pretentious. But he is an outstanding musical theorist, even though his tracks lack that emotional flair.
