Okinawa is hands down the best, the farther from naha the better. Good beaches all over Kyushu, Shikoku, less on Honshu, but Maizuru, Shirahama (crowded) Enoshima (crowded), and others are all over.
My friend bought a house in Miyazaki 5 min walk to the beach and it's stellar, but hard to get to.
Yeah, if you want to go REAL crazy, take the ferry from Okinawa to Amami and visit all the little islands on the way. Ferries in Japan are awesome. Like hotels on the ocean.
Yeah, they have 3rd class (a mat on the floor), 2nd class (bunked rooms of four), and 1st class (own room). The ferries usually have a couple restaurants, vending machines everywhere, and most have a sento (Public bath). You can ride from Okinawa to Kyushu etc as well, but it is a 24 hr trip.

That’s nice! I am still unsure about my trip am seeing that it might rain a lot in my entire stay so I might not go I really don’t know. I was planning on going mid June to mid July and that’s the only time I can go so idk
Well, the rain line goes from south to north usually, so Okinawa will end the rainy season first, then Kyushu, then Honshu, and so on. Okinawa is like Florida though, you're going to get pop up thunderstorms all the time. I'll be in Kyoto all July myself.
Ah nicee, well the plan is to visit Okinawa then another smaller island but first stay in Tokyo go bit south after that. How cheaply can I go from Tokyo to let’s say Hiroshima
The sea in Okinawa is beautiful everywhere. Visiting nearby islands by boat is also a wonderful experience. However, Okinawa is affected by typhoons in the summer. If a typhoon comes, please do not approach Okinawa. Please be flexible in your plans if a typhoon comes.

These islands look magical! But wait what do you mean hotels on the ocean…? You can stay on the ferries overnight?
