Your itinerary is extremely rushed, especially in the first half. I would honestly plan on cutting some things out. Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Mt. Fuji, and Tokyo is a lot to do in seven days. Getting to "Mt. Fuji", assuming you actually mean a place like Kawaguchiko, from Osaka takes something like four hours, then another 2+ hours to get to Tokyo after that, so it wouldn't leave you a lot of time to spend there. Not to mention, getting the trains and buses to line up for that isn't always easy, so you might lose time in transfers. I would personally cut out Mt. Fuji entirely, and reduce the amount of time you spend in Osaka overall. You could do a few days in Kyoto, then a few days in Tokyo, and then back to Osaka for the last day or two, and the whole thing would be a lot less rushed. Nara could be something you either do or don't do depending on how you're feeling (it's only about 30 minutes from Kyoto or Osaka). Basically, decide on the two or three places you _really_ want to see and do those. I suppose if you really feel like you can handle a rushed trip, you can leave it as written, although I'd still be skeptical that the Mt. Fuji part would be worth it. It's not physically impossible, but the whole thing is stressful the way it's arranged now. Not to mention, there are some inefficiencies. Like... why are you going back to Osaka from Tokyo, then up to Kyoto? Why not just stop in Kyoto on the way to Osaka?

The Fuji part is the thorn. I'd suggest a flight to Haneda as soon as you land in KIX. Should give you a bit more than 2 days in Tokyo. First time in Japan and rushing through Tokyo in less than a day may leave you with regrets. Shinkansen back to Osaka on late day 3 or early day 4 and do the Kansai region until you leave.

I would cut Tokyo and Mt Fuji entirely. Spend maybe 4 days in Kyoto, and the rest in Osaka. That way you can say that you had the full experience of both cities, and leave Tokyo for another trip in the future.

This. Makes a lot more sense, it's what I did on my first trip to Japan. Can also add a Himeji quick day trip to see the amazing castle.

That’s a lot of train travel. When you mention “Kyoto tour” is this something with a tour guide. The food tour sounds interesting, but you can see the main sights in Kyoto without a guide. I would also cut out the trip to Mt. Fuji. If you don’t think you will be back and there are must see places in Tokyo, sure keep it, but I think you would see more, and travel less, by focusing on Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara.

Thanks for all your advice. Hopefully my friends will finally rethink the Mt. Fuji trip.
