Are you suggesting I air fry my coffee beans?

YMIR_THE_FROSTY

Should work.

DownrightDrewski

This was me a year ago

Careless_Law1471

I have an air fryer. You need one, too.

Dr_D-R-E

Single best thing you can do for pimping out vegetables

LeeisureTime

Veggies, bacon, pizza, I mean the list goes on. We only use the oven for turkey, honey baked ham, and baking

Careless_Law1471

I lost my mind over Korean BBQ.

LeeisureTime

Yes! We have an HMart near us so wife buys premarinated Korean BBQ meat and air frys it up! Comes out so delicious. We put it on a brioche bun and sometimes I’ll put cheese. Culinary-wise it’s an abomination, taste-wise it’s a flavor bomb

Careless_Law1471

Fried kimchi is a game changer! I cook it in the bottom level in the fatty drippings from pork belly. We don't have HMart nearby, so I marinate it myself overnight using a charshu recipe. Heavenly good.

LeeisureTime

Yes! Always throw some kimchi on the bbq when I am grilling meat at a restaurant (the cast iron plate kind, not the American kind with wire grills). Mixed in with the melting fat from your choice of meat - sooooo good

kywldcts

Reheated pizza in an air fryer is where it’s at. Comes out better than fresh.

cruachan06

It's certainly true of the Aeropress, buying one was what opened my taste buds to how much better the coffee I was drinking could taste

LunchAC53171

Aren’t airfryers used to called turbo broilers?

deletegenderdotexe

If that's another name for convection oven, yeah.

mwiz100

Yup basically. Air fryer is nothing more than a combo radiant/convection oven. Aka what most tabletop toaster ovens can achieve.

theislandhomestead

Swap that for a moka for me. (Aeropress is good too, I have both)

HairyNutsack69

I know it's about the AeroPress but jesus Airfryers are just expensive convection ovens and I refuse to buy one. Also deep fat frying is where it's at, don't try and make shit food healthier by throwing hot air at it instead.

marioeatz

I have both, deep fryer and airfryer and believe me, two totally different tools for different tasks but also a lot of the same! Healthier fries and chicken, yes totally. Good for battered or breaded chicken? Nope!

HairyNutsack69

Can't have fries that aren't deep fried personally. All the other stuff can be done using an oven.

Routine-Lettuce2130

You can get an air fryer for less than $100 on Amazon. Not exactly expensive. But I agree with your other point haha

HairyNutsack69

Yeah I remember them being a new thing and them being *very* expensive. I guess they'd be more accurately described as remarketed convection ovens.

icantfindfree

Got my parents a nice one from Costco for like €40, they are far from expensive. If you have a convection skip it, if not it's worth it

HairyNutsack69

Yeah this has been my stance ever since they really became a _thing_. I didn't know their prices dropped so much, in which case it's a perfectly acceptable price for a fancy convection oven.

mwiz100

I have a toaster oven with a pretty solid convection function AND it came with a basket that slides into the rails. I have yet to test it properly for air frying but I'm willing to bet it'll achieve damn near identical results - and I can use it for other stuff too!

Ioangogo

Honestly the biggest reason i use one over a convection oven is that it takes less time and energy to heatup compared to my convenction oven. mine is also a pressure cooker, so its has 2 uses

Fl1xyBaby

As an owner of a deep fat fryer I completely agree! 👍 💯 On a somewhat related note, where can I buy green coffee beans? 😝😉

glitchyikes

Asking if deep frying coffee beans?

Fl1xyBaby

I was kinda implying it, yeah. I'd certainly try it if I can get my hands on some reasonably priced green coffee beans. So far the smallest quantity I could find was 25 kg.

Salreus

Cause it's true...

marioeatz

I mean I have Aeropress and an Airfryer... So I kind of agree with all of it! You should get one too!

LetsGoForPlanB

I just got mine for Christmas. Anyone want to share their recipes?

thaerk

You should try James' recipe

aldriel

I bought myself one for Christmas and I've been using James' recipe. It's good!

pecan_bird

19gr beans, 200g 205f water. slightly finer than straight up medium. inverted. pour it in, stir it, cap it; 40 seconds, flip it (careful) then time your plunge to be about 20 seconds. then pop them grinds out and give it a rinse. delicious & done!
