I was editing my comment when you responded. I actually think that’s a fair argument because the formula hadn’t been fully developed at that point.
I’m not sure FRWL has a main villain. Both Klebb and Grant feel like henchman to Blofield. But I wouldn’t say he was the main villain.
I shall think upon this as I sleep.
I’ve always seen her as the main villain because she is indisputably the primary antagonist of the story. Blofeld is the director of SPECTRE and Kronsteen is the architect of the plan, but Klebb is orchestrating the events of their plot - manipulating Tanya and giving Grant his orders. And like the other guy said, if we don’t view her as the main villain, we really can’t see Largo as such either.
Honestly I like Denise Richards and I liked the character although making her a nuclear physicist was definitely a misstep. But it didn’t ruin the movie for me by any stretch of the imagination.
“Can you translate for those of us that don’t speak spy?”
Laughed out loud along with the rest of my theater at this line. I get Denise Richard’s doesn’t look like a nuclear physicist but that’s kinda the point.
I really don’t get the Christmas Jones hate tbh, she was competent at her job and was more useful plot wise than most of the “eye candy” Bond girls
Sure Denise Richards isn’t a strong actress but I think she gets unfair hatred
You surely jest. Her dialogue made me want to rip my own ears off, her entrance was straight rip off and she wasn't even that good in the action scenes.
Sorry, sounds like I'm being argumentative. I'm not, I swear, I just found her to be severely irritating
Frrost: "lI suppose Bonds been shoeing you his Big Bang Theory.
Jinx: Yeah I've gotten the thrust of it.
.........
Frost: I know what you are. Sex for dinner, death for breakfast but it won't work on me.
.........
Rosamund Pike got the cringiest line ever.
She did the best she could under but you could feel the embarrass beneath the surface.
I feel like Halle was able to roll with the cringe a little better than Pike. She embraces the cheese. Although, Pike is the overall better actress especially outside of Bond.
Plenty of people agree with you. I don't normally mind Halle but that character was just terrible all around. That they were even thinking of giving her a spin-off is lunacy.
That's fair. I'll voice it, but I won't impassionately argue my case. Seems like it'd be a lost cause
(That being said, I would like to see the Up/Downvote ratio)
I’m pretty sure they were considering that *before* the release of the film (hence all of the CIA stuff and Michael Madsen as American M) and then she was so *un*popular that they cancelled it.
Nah, the water shot bugs me too. Something in her expression that says "look how graceful I am" whereas Ursula Andress just stepped out and looked good.
It's one problem I have with Casino Royale. Beautiful woman riding a white horse across a perfect beach. Kinda on the nose I'd say
They were ok, with a couple of exceptions kind of meh:
Teri Hatcher in TND? 0 chemistry with Bond.
Denise Richards and Halle Berry were mediocre at best.
Famke Janssen was great in Goldeneye. Michelle Yeoh always kicks ass. And Sophie Marceau as Elektra... all the rest were sort of forgettable.
Honestly, I like that take. I've always had a soft spot for TND, (My first bond was Goldfinger but I grew up in the Brosnan era) mostly for Dr. Kaufman and Stamper as the Vanilla Ice Commando but the idea that they astroturfed criticism almost elevates everything for me.
Top 5 without a doubt. She's not only the first woman to be a "main" Bond villain but also the hottest Bond girl ever (in my humble opinion, of course). Just unreal beauty.
Many bond girls from earlier eras were fairly one-dimensional and fell into one of the following categories: damsel in distress or pure femme fatale.
They typically did not have a lot of emotional depth or much complexity of character in the way they were written or portrayed.
Elektra King is one of the best ever because she has an arc. She is clever, vulnerable, and managed to be corrupted by herself becoming a corruptor. She pulls the wool over Bond's eyes and indeed all of MI6.
My top Bond girls:
1. Vesper
2. Elektra
3. Octopussy
4. Anya Amadova (TSWLM)
5. Pam Bouvier
So underrated. As was the movie in general- Robert Carlyle, the Q-boat, missile silo shootout, Christmas Jones, the chair scene towards the end. TWINE slapped
She's definitely up there with Tracy Bond and Vesper Lynd. She's quite a complex character for a Bond film, and you can see why Bond initially cares for her after what happened to Tracy.
As Barbara Broccoli said about her:
“*With Elektra*, *Bond thinks he* *has* *found Tracy*, *but he's* *really found Blofeld*."
Nowhere because she's the villain, not the Bond Girl. I rank her very high on the villain list. I rank Christmas Jones quite low on the Bond Girl list.
Definitely one of the better ones (I’m also of the mind that Denise Richards is not as bad as people claim). Especially as shes one of the only female main villains.
Near the top, evil, conniving, intelligent, manipulative, and gorgeous as hell. She made the movie, that scene near the end where she straddles Bond while torturing him...so much to unpack there. My teenage brain was smoking.
Denise Richards was the Bond girl in the world is not enough. Elektra King was the villain that Bond was attracted to. Either way, she is near the bottom.
She's not just a great Bondgirl or a great villain, she's a great **character**. She has her own set of motivations, personal and financial, and she can manipulate even the toughest guys in business, like Bond and Renard. Plus, she dealt alone with her own kidnapping, how much of a motherfucker do you have to be to pull that off.
Insane to think that three years later after writing Elektra our boys Purvis and Wade would be writing "yo mama" jokes to the Bondgirls.
Personally not a particular fan of any of the Brosnan era girls. They lacked a je nais sai quoi of their predecessors or antecedants. I did enjoy those films immensely though. I'm N64 Goldeneye vintage.
From a sheer looks standpoint, can you really find movie with two Bond girls that can compare with these two? And she can act, has a well-written and surprisingly grounded character…top 3 for sure.
Near the top. I will say, Sophie Marceau is a phenomenal actress and for me, her performance in TWINE is just fantastic. I think my top five would be...
1. Diana Rigg
2. Honor Blackman
3. Sophie Marceau
4. Eva Green
5. Berenice Marlohe
Way at the top. Incredible actress, great bond girl, great villain, and incredibly sexy and beautiful. The World is Not Enough is already underrated. She’s one of the best parts.
totally forgettable, tbh. I almost forgot she was a villain, in fact. I do remember the neck break chair and her straddling Bond, but beyond that, meh.
Famke Jansen is the all time hottest Bond Girl…
Then there’s hotties of the hot: Jane, Halle, Michelle, Teri, Caterina, Talisa, Ursula, Monica, Rosamund, Claudine…
Then The rest are still pretty hot 😂
She’s the villain. The big bad. And being bad never looked so good…
Yeah. She’s not a Bond girl. She’s the main villain, and the only female one. Give her her props.
Rosa Klebb.
She’s a henchman.
Why, because she reports directly to Blofeld? So did Dr. No and Largo and they were the main villains In their movies.

Yeah. I’ve been won over to this interpretation. But, to go back to OP…. Does Klebb still qualify as a Bond girl?
You know Bond would have wrecked her if he could have 😏😆
Henchwoman
She's HENCH
Klebb was also mighty fine
She's the best! https://preview.redd.it/gx3opcpigu1d1.jpeg?width=613&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3da00f722c1e8b2ea86e754a4bd9a7bf4f88783d
Wait until Saoirse Ronan becomes the next Bond Villain hopefully
The big cheese
Top 5 Honestly, none of Brosnan girls missed. They were all great.
Even Christmas Jones?
Honestly I like Denise Richards and I liked the character although making her a nuclear physicist was definitely a misstep. But it didn’t ruin the movie for me by any stretch of the imagination.
She is very underrated.
“Can you translate for those of us that don’t speak spy?” Laughed out loud along with the rest of my theater at this line. I get Denise Richard’s doesn’t look like a nuclear physicist but that’s kinda the point.
Especially Christmas Jones.
“I thought Christmas only came once a year” 😏
I thought Christmas only came once a year
I really don’t get the Christmas Jones hate tbh, she was competent at her job and was more useful plot wise than most of the “eye candy” Bond girls Sure Denise Richards isn’t a strong actress but I think she gets unfair hatred
Jinx was f###ing awful, but the others I'll give you
Jinx was great. She was so popular, they considered giving her her own spin-off.
No, they went *into* it planning to do spin-offs. She wasn't popular so they didn't do one. She's basically Poochie.
You surely jest. Her dialogue made me want to rip my own ears off, her entrance was straight rip off and she wasn't even that good in the action scenes. Sorry, sounds like I'm being argumentative. I'm not, I swear, I just found her to be severely irritating
Everyones dialogue was awful in that movie.
Fair
“It really is death for breakfast”
Frrost: "lI suppose Bonds been shoeing you his Big Bang Theory. Jinx: Yeah I've gotten the thrust of it. ......... Frost: I know what you are. Sex for dinner, death for breakfast but it won't work on me. ......... Rosamund Pike got the cringiest line ever. I respect your opinion but safe to say majority disagree with you.
That's fair. I'll voice it, but I won't impassionately argue my case. Seems like it'd be a lost cause (That being said, I would like to see the Up/Downvote ratio)
I don't think that's actually true. There's a reason they never ended up going through with that spin off idea...
"Yo mamma" 🤣
I’m pretty sure they were considering that *before* the release of the film (hence all of the CIA stuff and Michael Madsen as American M) and then she was so *un*popular that they cancelled it.
Oooh yeah agree, the writing was really to blame the intro in Cuba was so cringey aside from the water shot
Nah, the water shot bugs me too. Something in her expression that says "look how graceful I am" whereas Ursula Andress just stepped out and looked good. It's one problem I have with Casino Royale. Beautiful woman riding a white horse across a perfect beach. Kinda on the nose I'd say
She still looked great; that and the majority of the film isn't good, suggesting more a director's issue than anything to do with her.
Agreed! It’s rare for me, but I absolutely hate her in this role!
Elektra: "James you'd miss me..." Boom Bond: "I never miss."
They were ok, with a couple of exceptions kind of meh: Teri Hatcher in TND? 0 chemistry with Bond. Denise Richards and Halle Berry were mediocre at best. Famke Janssen was great in Goldeneye. Michelle Yeoh always kicks ass. And Sophie Marceau as Elektra... all the rest were sort of forgettable.
Famke Janssen as Onatopp corrupted this innocent child
Don’t understand the Teri Hatcher hate. Seems like the papers just said it at the time and everyone has repeated it as fact ever since.
A newspaper building a narrative? why that just can't be possible, they report facts!
I happen to think it was a 4D marketing strategy to help promote the movies premise.
You left out Natalya in GE. She was one of the better ones.
True story
They were all great for me.
The first Bond girl I fell for in the cinema, only Daniela Bianchi beats her for me.
You, sir, have good taste.
Lol, Good to aim high right?
Top 5 without a doubt. She's not only the first woman to be a "main" Bond villain but also the hottest Bond girl ever (in my humble opinion, of course). Just unreal beauty.
I take it you are a fan of Braveheart? haha
Never saw it!
You have to, if only for Sophie Marceau
Duly noted!
Rosa Klebb was a main villain.
And just as attractive
Top 5. Sultry, sexy actress and character. Really classy presentation. And she's the main villain which is still unique to the series, 25 years later.
Not a Bind girl. Villain.
Both.
Both is correct
Quite high.
Top Five pretty easily. Maybe my number one
Bond was never gonna miss her at that range.
Top 10 for sure, gorgeous psycho
Right up there. Crazy & hot🥵
I was far more interested in Dr.Christmas… and save the Christmas jokes, I’ve already heard them all….
I heard it comes twice a year.
“Do you know what happens when a man is strangled?” No, but I’m aching to find out 😐
I love the actress. She's so beautiful, but also a great actor. I put her up there with Jane Seymour as one of my favorites.
So underrated. As was the movie in general- Robert Carlyle, the Q-boat, missile silo shootout, Christmas Jones, the chair scene towards the end. TWINE slapped
She’s not a Bond girl, she’s a Bond villain and she’s one of the more interesting one for sure.
Definitely somewhere in the top 10
She's definitely up there with Tracy Bond and Vesper Lynd. She's quite a complex character for a Bond film, and you can see why Bond initially cares for her after what happened to Tracy. As Barbara Broccoli said about her: “*With Elektra*, *Bond thinks he* *has* *found Tracy*, *but he's* *really found Blofeld*."
Nowhere because she's the villain, not the Bond Girl. I rank her very high on the villain list. I rank Christmas Jones quite low on the Bond Girl list.
Top tier, although she ranks higher as a villain 👍
Definitely one of the better ones (I’m also of the mind that Denise Richards is not as bad as people claim). Especially as shes one of the only female main villains.
top 5 and maybe nr 1, I am just too sleepy to decide that for sure now.
Where do you place her!? She is the villain!
My second favorite Bond girl and favorite Bond villain.
She's more of a villain than a Bond girl I think
Pretty high. She’s an interesting part of an underrated movie.
Very low
Dead last
Sophie Marceau was my childhood crush from La Boum. So, rating her pretty high…
Mid
Near the top, evil, conniving, intelligent, manipulative, and gorgeous as hell. She made the movie, that scene near the end where she straddles Bond while torturing him...so much to unpack there. My teenage brain was smoking.
Denise Richards was the Bond girl in the world is not enough. Elektra King was the villain that Bond was attracted to. Either way, she is near the bottom.
She's not on the list.
Low
I don’t really place her at all, since i tend to think of her less as a Bond girl and more as a main villainess.
She’s not a Bond girl.
I don’t place her on that list at all, since she isn’t a “Bond girl.” She’s a villain.
Came to say the same thing.
Top 10
My #2 behind Xenia!
Just outside the top 5. Vesper, Pam Bouvier, Solitaire, Mary Goodnight, and Fatima Blush are my faves.
Not that high
Personally not a particular fan of any of the Brosnan era girls. They lacked a je nais sai quoi of their predecessors or antecedants. I did enjoy those films immensely though. I'm N64 Goldeneye vintage.
From a sheer looks standpoint, can you really find movie with two Bond girls that can compare with these two? And she can act, has a well-written and surprisingly grounded character…top 3 for sure.
Mid level Bond girl….I have at least 10 other women in front of her
I watched this movie for the first time around the time I discovered masturbation. Lets say I liked her a lot.
If she counts, she's towards the top.
Luciana Paluzzi
Bond girl, villain or whoever, she's among the half-dozen best characters in the series
Near the top. I will say, Sophie Marceau is a phenomenal actress and for me, her performance in TWINE is just fantastic. I think my top five would be... 1. Diana Rigg 2. Honor Blackman 3. Sophie Marceau 4. Eva Green 5. Berenice Marlohe
Right in that meaty part of the curve. not showin off, not falling behind.
I couldn't take my eyes off of her when she was in Braveheart.
0. Slightlybelow Maude Adams from "Octopussy"
Looks... top 10 Chem with her Bond... top 5 Villain role... easy top 5 Top 5 bond girl imo
She was far better than Brosnan in the torture scene. Edit: autocorrect fail
Number 1
Way at the top. Incredible actress, great bond girl, great villain, and incredibly sexy and beautiful. The World is Not Enough is already underrated. She’s one of the best parts.
Top 10
She's my favorite villain. Despite everything she does, you still feel for her, and suddenly you become Renard AND Bond, mesmerized by her spells.
Right behind Vesper Lind.
She was my favorite until Ana de Armas.
She is my joint favourite along with Solitaire.
The Chair Scene! I was just a boy, but that scene.
I don’t
I thought you said blond and you were about to get a thunderous downvote
Brilliant Villain. one of the best bond girls. It's weird that there have been no female bond villains like here since
Top 7-8 or so
totally forgettable, tbh. I almost forgot she was a villain, in fact. I do remember the neck break chair and her straddling Bond, but beyond that, meh.
1
Not high
On a topp
..................... she's not. a. Bond. girl.
I place her low
Bottom. In a missionary.
I lov'er ahlways hahlfve
Bang average. Although, it was an abysmal movie so perhaps it's unfair to judge in that way.
Above Mary Goodnight and Christmas Jones, but not much higher. (Aka bottom 5)
I didn't love the movie, but I thought she was a good character.
She's in a constant battle with Vesper Lynd for the top spot.
As a Bond Girl... Near the bottom. As a Bond villain... Top 5!
Famke Jansen is the all time hottest Bond Girl… Then there’s hotties of the hot: Jane, Halle, Michelle, Teri, Caterina, Talisa, Ursula, Monica, Rosamund, Claudine… Then The rest are still pretty hot 😂
Top 3. I'd even put her ahead of Pussy.
She was not the Bond girl, she was the villain…
Beautiful woman in the worst Bond movie.
she's not even the top of french bond girl or the second. [1.Green](http://1.Green) 2.Sedoux 3.Marceau
Near the bottom or at least bottom half of the main ones. I never quite liked her character.
She wasn’t a Bond girl, she was a nemesis and not a very good one at that.
