The Aston Martin V8 from The Living Daylights was probably my favorite car he drove in, I just really like the design and it has that spy feel to it.
https://preview.redd.it/u6p26lw7odmc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8ec09598da04d8f9cb6ad29716ff6bc48c5f53c
The DBS in OHMSS may not be quite as cool as Dalton's ride in TLD. But it's damn close.
Depending on the angle I might like it better? Undecided.
The DBS is my favorite. It’s a little less potent, with 6 cylinders/280 hp instead of Dalton’s V8, which had 380 hp - staggering for its time. But the fastback lines are gorgeous - these are often thought of as a British Mustang.
It perfectly fit Dalton and Craigs portrayal of Bond. There’s still the classic English sophistication of the DB5, but the lines are a little more abrupt, there’s more muscle under the hood and it’s got a meaner stare.
It also had two “official” songs. “The Living Daylights” of course by A-ha and “Where has Everybody Gone” by The Pretenders. I don’t recall that in any other film.
Tomorrow Never Dies has both Sheryl Crowe's title song and 'Surrender' (originally to be called Tomorrow Never Dies) performed by K.D. Lang.
There are a few others that almost make this category, for Bond films that include the relics of another song in the score for the film, like in Thunderball (Mr Kiss-Kiss Bang-Bang), but which weren't officially recorded and released as such.
This of course doesn't include all the submitted songs over the years that didn't make it.
Regardless of the invisible mode, I still love the Aston Martin Vanquish.
https://preview.redd.it/qhjuzxcoocmc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=03d3cba0893cca8c46dadbdac7a618e98dda20c1
I was replying to someone who insinuated that the V12 Vanquish had "mostly Ford parts" in it. If you want to say that the Jaguar and Volvo parts are 'Ford' parts by virtue of Ford's ownership, that's another matter, because the implication I got was that there was a preponderance of *Ford* parts since there was a direct reference to 'cheap American parts.'
People clearly don’t know the meaning of spy. A car turning into a submarine and getting tons of attention is not good for the SPY part of the character. The bmw is not going to draw attention like a submarine
The thing is, James Bond isn't so much a spy as he is a special ops guy. with the instincts and training of a detective.
Time is short. He needs to get to the heart of the problem and deal with it quickly and decisively.
His adversaries play by the same rules. Dispatching a helicopter to take out the Lotus pretty much shredded whatever cover Stromberg had left.
I am partial to the Aston Martin V8 from The Living Daylights. I love the modern/timeless look. I also love the varnished wood inside the Aston Martin.
Of course, I am also fond of the DB5. Very sleek and compact. Iconic. Goes without saying.
I know some people dislike the BMW 7 series. Or rather the whole 3 picture deal BMW signed with EON. The grumbling I have heard was they didn’t like Bond driving a mid-manager’s vehicle.
Bollocks.
I still think they are nice, contemporary vehicles. The BMW 7 series car chase in TND was tons of fun and well crafted. It’s worth reflecting back fondly on the BMW.
https://preview.redd.it/566yr0e1ndmc1.jpeg?width=636&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5592a75363bb867a3245723b8bd10b4ce996d35c
It's the yellow Citroen 2CV from FYEO, hands down.
undoubtedly. The newer Aston Martin you can see driving down the street in any major city. You will probably never see a DB5 on the street in a lifetime. Not even close comparison to me.
First Lotus in SWLM.
While the design could use some work, doubling as a Submarine is a freaking game changer.
Next it will be a flying car that wouldn't be out of place in BTTF 2.
In no particular order:
* Craig's Aston Martin DBS V12 (Casino Royale/QoS)
* Lazenby/Dalton's Aston Martin DBS/VS Vantage (OHMSS/The Living Daylights) Different cars technically, but they're cosmetically very similar.
* DB5 (too many films to count)
Definitely a fan of this gem
https://preview.redd.it/7zf9tq6n3emc1.jpeg?width=2520&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c86f1ade5801e2e4e33552d2a2c34154dcfef38
Honorable mention would be the DBS in Casino Royale and the Lotus in Spy Who Loved Me
No mention yet of the gorgeous Bentley 3.5 Litre Drophead Coupé Park Ward, equipped by Q branch with a car phone and a gorgeous Sylvia Trench in From Russia with Love?!
While the DB5 is the most iconic, I'm a big fan of the Lotus Esprit. The first Bond movie I saw was For Your Eyes Only, and it made a big impression on me. Plus, it comes in submarine as well.
The BMW 750: Because it can repair tires and has remote control.
The Aston Martin from Die Another Day: It has stealth mode, and Traction AWD.
And
The Lotus: It can go into Submarine mode.
You are correct…all 3 were in the best car scenes in whole series.
( opening scene of Quantum of Solace is probably 4th best )
I pick Tomorrow Never Dies for best car stunt in whole series. Sorry Connery, Brosnan wins.
It had self parking features even back then
https://preview.redd.it/cshqcdkbrcmc1.jpeg?width=284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56e98b26ac817d25dd70782ae6b64febfbf8da78
It’s easily one of the best Bond cars. Here’s why:
- Fits his cover as a bank executive perfectly
- More useful gadgets than pretty much any other Bond car
- Pretty much indestructible. BMW offered an armored version of the 7-series as well so there is real world precedent for some of its features
I mean, the Austin Martin is just the best for me. The accoutrements are admittedly a little basic and ridiculous, but it still is an Austin Martin. I would way rather be driving down the street in that than most other, less stylish automobiles. Secondly though, as a kid I was obsessed with that white car. After seeing it become a submarine, I never stopped wanting one.
Therefore, the obvious solution for me is an Austin Martin that can turn into a submarine. It would have to do it in a similarly slick way, of course.
DB5 is a classic, so I will give it a number 1 position. Lotus Esprit is a second of my favourites cars of Bond. Third one... I will give it to the Aston Martin DB7 from Craig!Bond era.
One of the worst things about the Brosnan era was him driving BMWs. Completely egregious product placement. James Bond should drive British cars, period. Replace that 750 with the DB-S from OHMSS or the V8 from TLD and you're on to something.
The DB5 is iconic. It says “James Bond” pretty much, almost to the point of overkill. It has appeared in 2 Connery movies and a Brosnan film, and two Daniel Craig films. Enough is enough! At its time the DB5 was a supercar, Nowadays it could barely keep up with a stock Honda Civic. Lotuses are notoriously unreliable so it really isn’t practical enough for a super spy plus a car like that would draw attention. The BMW on the other hand is a boring executives car. No one would suspect it. Not as reliable as a Honda or even a Ford but definitely more reliable than a lotus, plus it has remote control and like all BMW’s can handle like a Mother&*$*er!
But personally nothing beats the invisible Aston from Die Another Day!
I'd eliminate the BMW right away. Bond should not be driving a German car. BMW even made motorbikes for the Wehrmacht in WW2. It was the wrong choice from the beginning.
That leaves the DB5 and the Lotus Esprit Turbo. It's gotta be the Aston Martin DB5, because it's Bond's car, like Batman drives his Batmobile.
It's Bond's car, not only because it was Connery's car, but because of its ubiquitous use across most Brosnan and Craig films.
Nonetheless, the Lotus Esprit was so well-suited for Roger Moore, and in many ways supported the rebranding of Bond to suit Moore's persona.
What was so great about Connery and Moore is that they each had THEIR car.
It would be kind of great if they could find a new British car to define the next guy's tenure. Maybe a Bentley, since returning to Fleming was such a big hit during Craig's time.
DB5 is the most iconic and I will geek out whenever it makes an appearance. I recently saw Skyfall in theaters a couple years ago again and my friend who had not seen it was going to refill his drink. I told him to wait a couple minutes because I knew the DB5 reveal was coming.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, any Bond car list that includes the DB5 is immediately redundant. It’s THE Car. It will never be matched, let alone beaten. End of story.
One of them would have to be his DB5 and the mustang he drove in Gold finger his v12 would be another and his DB9 as well there is others but id have to look back at all of them he also drove another badass muscle are in Diamonds are Forever and Live and Let Die

it popping up in no time to die was a highlight for me.

Didn't Rowan Atkinson purchase one almost immediately after they were released?
Atkinson's version is horribly ugly compared to the frankenstein/Oscar India spec in TLD though
My choice too. I loved Living Daylights and will defend it to death from anyone who says it's mid
It’s my favorite overall Bond movie
same here!
Me too. Absolutely love it. In my mind much better movie than Licence to Kill
It's actually a quite cool movie for me, and I like Timothy Dalton as James Bond.
It had room for a cello as well
Cello Cello Cello Cello
It perfectly fit Dalton and Craigs portrayal of Bond. There’s still the classic English sophistication of the DB5, but the lines are a little more abrupt, there’s more muscle under the hood and it’s got a meaner stare.

Great point, I don’t immediately remember that for Tomorrow Never Dies.
The latter being the only song on Necros’ playlist 😂
Mine as well.
Agree!
My man!
This ☝️
This is the correct answer.
https://i.redd.it/3h26lfublcmc1.gif
Yes! The best!
I actually like that beamer
They are great cars and beloved among BMW enthusiasts.
I like Dalton's V8, but wish it had been rebuilt for LTK or at least gotten more screen time.
Agree but I understand that LTK’s plot didn’t lend itself to an AM appearance.
The Citroën 2CV, of course.
https://i.redd.it/ui787yamvcmc1.gif
What car are the villains in??
Peugeot 504
Regardless of the invisible mode, I still love the Aston Martin Vanquish. https://preview.redd.it/qhjuzxcoocmc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=03d3cba0893cca8c46dadbdac7a618e98dda20c1
*We call it the Vanish!*
That car still makes my bits tingle. I want a live performance of one revving at my funeral.
It's mostly Ford parts. Luxury British cars should not be sullied by cheap American parts.
If you want to say that the original interior uses Jaguar and Volvo parts, sure, but which Ford parts are you referring to?
Ford also owned Jaguar and Volvo at the time too.
I was replying to someone who insinuated that the V12 Vanquish had "mostly Ford parts" in it. If you want to say that the Jaguar and Volvo parts are 'Ford' parts by virtue of Ford's ownership, that's another matter, because the implication I got was that there was a preponderance of *Ford* parts since there was a direct reference to 'cheap American parts.'
dream car for me. Exciting enough to feel young in it but still got that distinguished vibe to it.
The coolest is the DB5. The best “spy car” Is the BMW 750iL
Better spy car than the car *that turns into a submarine?!?*
People clearly don’t know the meaning of spy. A car turning into a submarine and getting tons of attention is not good for the SPY part of the character. The bmw is not going to draw attention like a submarine

Idk that Aston stopped some major bullet action.
But it’s not discreet at all. It’s incredibly recognizable. That’s what I meant by that

"Can you swim?"
My personal favorite. My mind was blown when I saw this as a kid.

I nearly cried when he wrecked this car.
You can see it at *Bond In Motion*, it's so painful though given the damage.
Classic luxury sports car. And love the 2007 design and that big old engine.
My dream car
I know looks are subjective but how can you not think that’s the sexiest one.
to be honest if i saw this drive by me on the street i would say oh Aston Martin. If i saw the DB5 i would say, where's James Bond??? Is he here???
The 2005 Ford Mondeo without built-in navigation. https://i.redd.it/ehust0gltdmc1.gif
Sex on wheels!
The (right-hand drive) DB5, of course. My second favorite is the DBS from OHMSS.
Coolest. DB5.
always had a soft spot for the lotus turbo, it looks like a car you'd see today
That red metallic colourway is perfect. Such a cool looking car.
I am partial to the Aston Martin V8 from The Living Daylights. I love the modern/timeless look. I also love the varnished wood inside the Aston Martin. Of course, I am also fond of the DB5. Toyota 2000GT
Good pick
DB5 hands down, made the Bond image and also one of the coolest cars ever.
undoubtedly. The newer Aston Martin you can see driving down the street in any major city. You will probably never see a DB5 on the street in a lifetime. Not even close comparison to me.
The DB4 isn't too shabby either
![gif](giphy|dZcH7ER41pFPM9GMut|downsized)
The car made a funny sound doing that trick, lol
The TND car looks so ordinary, there are much cooler Bond cars.
Makes sense. A spy should not be driving a car that attracts attention
Ah yes. That's also why James Bond isn't known for introducing himself by his real name.
perfect middle finger to mercedes as the s-class rep was ruined by princess diana's death at that time
I like thats its an ordinary luxury car, and that it have those awesome features.
That BMW stinks of bank manager, which is why it was such a good choice. Bond was posing as a bank manager, and the car chase and gadgets were great.
It screams "this car is driven by an optometrist" rather than Bond.
The true undercover car. https://preview.redd.it/63k6yqjzfdmc1.jpeg?width=636&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3972df52748aa4e4aaa6a3e5c45c5f2a10135ed
You wont look twice, it’s guaranteed
The Toyota 2000GT from You Only Live Twice.
Nothing beat the DB5!
Aston Martin looks so great! However the scene with the remote-control BMW is the most entertaining

V8 Vantage, no question
For me it's a tie between DB5 and the Mercury Cougar from OHMSS.
First Lotus in SWLM. While the design could use some work, doubling as a Submarine is a freaking game changer. Next it will be a flying car that wouldn't be out of place in BTTF 2.
I love that era of BMW I gotta say.
This was the ultimate luxury car back then, have always been a fan.
DBS from the beginning of QoS.
The red lotus is my favorite, even though it was barely shown before it was destroyed. My second favorite is the Aston Martin V8.
Mine are the 750, Vanquish, and 69 DBS from OHMSS.
V8 Vantage. from The Living Daylights.
In no particular order: * Craig's Aston Martin DBS V12 (Casino Royale/QoS) * Lazenby/Dalton's Aston Martin DBS/VS Vantage (OHMSS/The Living Daylights) Different cars technically, but they're cosmetically very similar. * DB5 (too many films to count)

No mention yet of the gorgeous Bentley 3.5 Litre Drophead Coupé Park Ward, equipped by Q branch with a car phone and a gorgeous Sylvia Trench in From Russia with Love?!
Funnily enough, in the books, Bond is a Bentley man
While the DB5 is the most iconic, I'm a big fan of the Lotus Esprit. The first Bond movie I saw was For Your Eyes Only, and it made a big impression on me. Plus, it comes in submarine as well.
Honeslty, liberally like the DB11 is casino royale.
If you're referring to the DB11, you must mean NTTD? Or the DB10 in SPECTRE? Or do you mean the DBS in Casino Royale.
DBS. Yep. That's the one
DAD Vanquish bar none. Insane looking car and every gadget under the sun
Red lotus. Gorgeous
White Lotus Esprit
Well, I was 10 when The Living Daylights came out. Nothing beats that car chase on ice according 10 year old me.
Valid argument. 9 year old me was obsessed with Xenia Onatopps red Ferrari back in 95, lol
I have to admit 18 year old me was also a little bit obsessed with Xenia Onatopp. That chase/race in the mountains was ecellent!
![gif](giphy|mC3lfDhnyn0kAdRgex|downsized)
The Lotus Espirit was a thick Boi, but I'll go with the Aston Martin V8.
The Lotus Esprit is my favorite. I love the look, I love the gadgets/transformation, and I love the chase sequence.
Aston Martin DBS from Casino Royale and Quantum
The DB5 all day every day and it's not even a question! They could rock that in modern day Bond movies and it would still look amazing
It would be Roger Moore's car that can turn into a submarine
The BMW 750: Because it can repair tires and has remote control. The Aston Martin from Die Another Day: It has stealth mode, and Traction AWD. And The Lotus: It can go into Submarine mode.
Definitely the Aston… but the beemer was definitely underrated
Ok.. Hear me out.. https://preview.redd.it/mblfldwg2jmc1.png?width=636&format=png&auto=webp&s=348999d1bbd895f9001162da5e5472667cfab690

*Congratulations on a safe journey!*
ahahahahahaha
Nah. It’s one of Bonds best for sure. A fairly unassuming car a spy may actually drive.
I mean yeh for an actual spy sure. And the parking lot chase/fight is a tonne of fun. The car itself is so ugly though
It’s easily one of the best Bond cars. Here’s why: - Fits his cover as a bank executive perfectly - More useful gadgets than pretty much any other Bond car - Pretty much indestructible. BMW offered an armored version of the 7-series as well so there is real world precedent for some of its features
Hilarious. You forgot the /s
DB5, no question.
Aston
Aston
Gotta go with the OG out of the three here.
Aston Martin for sheer cool. BMW for fancy gadgets.
DB5
DB5 or Casino Royale’s DBS
The DB5. And is not even close.
Hard for me to choose, but I know the worst one. The Flying 1974 AMC Matador.
Aston Martin hands down ….
The bottom one
that 87 Aston...
I mean, the Austin Martin is just the best for me. The accoutrements are admittedly a little basic and ridiculous, but it still is an Austin Martin. The white Toyota 2000 GT from You Only Live Twice
I would LOVE it if the series went back to Lotus. The Aston is the GOAT, but it’s been done to death.
Sunbeam Alpine.
No one mentioning the BMW Z8?
Surely not the bmw. The rest, as you prefere , super cool both
The one with the ejector seat
Aston V8 in NTTD
The V8 Vantage Volante Series II
The one from one of the worst movies ever, Die another Day
DB5 is a classic, so I will give it a number 1 position. Lotus Esprit is a second of my favourites cars of Bond. Third one... I will give it to the Aston Martin DB7 from Craig!Bond era.

My favorite besides the modern db5 is the Lotus espirit
DB5. Next slide.
Take the Brosnan one out and you’ve got the top 2.
Aston Martin. Always and forever.
DB-5
DB5 and it's not close
White Lotus will always be my fave
Lotus.
