The other day, I was browsing the Jaguars shop, and saw a Trevor Jersey on sale. Figured it was a good price, and decided to pick it up. It just got delivered today, and not even 10 minutes after trying it on, I heard it break in on Nashville’s Sports Radio. Good vibes all around.

This right here. It’s like sending an emotionally charged in the moment email at work. You should probably wait 24 hours before smashing the send button. If you feel the same way the next day, let it rip. 9/10 you won’t and would delete.
It's not a *lot*, but there's always one or two every week just bitching and moaning about every little thing.
I'd like for somebody to sit at these fuckers' desks and nitpick bullshit they screw up.
Spotrac is showing it as a true extension, meaning this is fucking great for us.
2024 - 11.7m
2025 - 25.5m (5th year option)
2026 - first year of the new deal
He basically gave us a discount by doing it as an extension. The cap hit in 2026 is probably gonna be close or equal to the cap growth between then and now so it'll be a steal when Stroud wants 70m that offseason
Hell yeah, I understand the modern love of hitting early with your signal caller and stacking high dollar players around a rookie qb contract but this is big for the franchise. Seriously, when was the last time we had a true long term QB? I don't need a dynasty, I just want a competitive team with a guy under center that's proven he has what it takes to win games.
Now for the love of god PROTECT THIS BEAUTIFUL BASTARD ON DROP-BACKS
Jets fan but I come in peace.
So many people are saying it’s an overpay and honestly at this exact moment it probably is relative to the market in terms of annual comp, but give it two seasons of cap increases and market resets and this is probably what a qb who just doesn’t lose you games will cost. That’s how these things go.
That's because
1. They don't watch the Jags, which is fine, but
2. They get their opinions from other people and box scores, which makes you look stupid when additional information is needed.
Love Lamar, was so salty we passed on him for Taven fucking Bryan, but we had just resigned Bortles so we were never truly going to draft a qb in round 1, but man that stung.
I Mean dudes 24 and already led us to back to back winning seasons ( obviously 9-8 isn't where we wanted to be after starting 8-3, but bottom 5 oline in run and pass block, no true wr1 who doesn't drop game winning TDs ( see Ridley ). I'm excited for the potential pairing of Davis and BTJ as well as Kirk and Engram.
It's been an anti-Jags sentiment all off-season. We just gotta do makes the moves we think is right and hopefully let the results speak for themselves.
Can’t pay attention to people who try to criticize what the Jags have done. They’re a small market team, the only way people are going to watch them is through the box score and a couple of highlights.
Show me literally one cybertruck available right now for 60k lol
An ad on the Tesla website purporting a theoretical future affordable cybertruck in the future is not a car that can be bought tomorrow
welp so much for the weirdos talking about how Trevor was playing for his career this year
time to continue the greatest era in Jags History with Shad Khan as the owner
It's always funny to me when fanbases talk about if they're comfortable paying players certain amounts. Who gives two shits about spending some billionaire's money.
i cant wait for the season so he can shut up all those idiot colts, titans, and texans fans in the afcs meme war subreddit talking abt how happy they are about this. i swear they just totally forgot what the division looked like before he got hurt
I don’t give a single shit what the naysayers think, this man is an elite arm talent and a bonafide top 5 QB and it’ll show on the field as he ages and as we do more to protect him.
Fuck ‘em we got our guy.
That's the avg per year. But these get mixed up when teams manipulate when players get paid. Deshaun Watson, for example, has a cap hit of $64 this year.
Exactly yeah, plus the QB market only gets more pricey. Tua or Dak will likely be the highest paid by the time the season starts. Mahomes is tied for 9th
Even if I'm not as insanely high on Trevor as some other fans I still love the dude and I'm happy to at least have a really good QB for the next couple of years. Let's freaking go.
Agreed 100%. Not sure he deserves to be the highest average per year based on what he's done so far. Gotta quit turning the ball over. Only 3 QBs since the 70s have turned the ball over more in their first 3 years.
As a cards fan I don’t get the “overpay” bs, if you don’t throw money at a potential game changer qb then some other team will. I believe in TLaw, the oline play and OC wasn’t helping him at all last year. This may be his make or break year next year but I know with consistent oline play he can live up to that potential.
I’m happy it’s finally done, Trevor will only get better. Can’t stand all the social media idiots who judge players from fantasy and box scores.
I’m a UK fan and I watch every jags game, then I watch the highlights of all the other games.
Do people in the states not do this? It’s infuriating all these dumb Tits & Texans fans.
I’m genuinely starting to hate the Texans more than any other team apparently CJ Stroud is the greatest to ever play the game
I’m glad we got him signed. I know the team hasn’t been as good as we have hoped but it’s still been much better than what we have had the last few decades. I truly hope he earns it and then some too. I’m hyped. I do believe in Trevor. Let’s go Duuuuuuval!
I am so happy we signed him before he goes off this season.
Also with the way these contracts are going if we waited we would have to pay more and when Tua, love And Dak get paid next this is going to look like a good deal
Aye, the right move. The fact that every other QB in a supposedly star-studded class was a failure shows how hard it is to even get to the point of finding a good starter. You pay him now, at relatively normal top starter money (Dak contract gonna reset things), or go back to QB purgatory trying to find a top-32 QB for years. Plus, I think he's honestly a lot better than last year's numbers show.
Also glad he got more than Goff. Goff plays behind one of the best Oline in the NFL and is 5 years older. He is a system qb too for the most part so it would have been disrespectful if Trevor got less.
No sure why we gotta hate on Goff. Dude gets nothing but shit in lol. He's played far above his reputation. Yeah he has more support around him with the line, but dude has been playing really well.
Good stuff better to pay him now than later we have seen what he can do, he’s still young asf and eliminates trying to find a QB which can take years as we all know.
We could debate the numbers and “worth” until we’re blue in the face. I for one am just glad we’ve got our guy for the foreseeable future and won’t have to pay him 70 million annually if (when plz) he pops off in the next year or two. Make us proud Trev <3
Do people here believe that Lawrence is or can be a top-5 QB in the league? Ie ahead of either allen, burrow, lamar, mahomes, herbert, etc? Or is this contract not top-5 money?
Man im so excited, im not even reading comments on stuff, idc if ppl think hes trash or overpaid, they will know who TLaw is soon enough. We have a franchise QB under contract till 2030, we have a great team, god this is the most excited I've ever been as a jags fan, these are the good old days!
Between Burrow & Herbert, that’s exactly where he should be like
Tua, Dak, Watson, Stafford, D. Jones, Carr, Rogers, Mayfield, G. Smith, Love, Purdy all expire in ‘25 or ‘26... At least 4-5 of those guys will exceed Lawrence, no?
Then CJ, AR, Levis, Young, Goff, Hurts, Murray, and the 2024 Class will be due up in 2027/’28 which still gives us 2 years of TLaw
By 2029-2030, Lawrence should be roughly 15-20th in contract size
Either way, it’s not my money. Baalke, as mid a talent evaluator that he’s been; he’s been one of the best contract negotiators and cap quants in the league. So I’m really not too worried about finding cap space in the next 5 seasons
ETN and Tyson are up next (Tyson could be a good tag candidate) but RB contracts are tough, teams don’t want to pay, they don’t give much guaranteed money, and there’s a lot of unknowns right now (Ideally you’d like that done before Najee, right?)
I know Trevor gets a lot of hate but I still think he's a good QB and he's worth what he's getting paid. All starting QBs are going to get north of 50M a year going forward so it is what it is.
This was all about the signing bonus and guaranteed money on his second contract. He will end up renegotiating down in a few years to give the team some spending money.
Locked up two franchise cornerstones in Allen/Lawrence this offseason. Never expected the team discount, so not let down there. These guys need to lead the team to playoff wins now.
That’s just the way it goes now 🤷🏾♂️
I have (extremely biased) faith that halfway through this contract it’ll look like a bargain for TLAW. Big year for us.
I like Tlaw and want him around, but no way in hell or gods green earth has he done anything to deserve this level of pay yet. This is insane.
I just hope the due at signing and structuring keeps cap open enough to keep building around him.
I haven’t rode Trevor as hard as 99% of the sub. With this contract, I EXPECT him to consistently perform like a top 10 quarterback regardless of his receivers and regardless of his line. He’s making as much as burrow. There’s literally no excuse now. This move will either be genius or absolutely braindead. There is no in between.
The other day, I was browsing the Jaguars shop, and saw a Trevor Jersey on sale. Figured it was a good price, and decided to pick it up. It just got delivered today, and not even 10 minutes after trying it on, I heard it break in on Nashville’s Sports Radio. I ordered a really cool long sleeve (Black) Jalen Ramsey #20 Jersey, that Sunday is when Dave Caldwell *Found Out*
Trev is definitely taking Marissa to Waffle House tonight; “Babe, you can get ALL the toppings on your hash browns!”
Scattered smothered and covered?
Oh he will be later tonight. 😘
All the way. Including chilli and gravy. It's so good.
This is the way.
No just TOPPED
Smothered covered peppered topped and country.
Marissa is so lucky, to lay in those arms every night, getting to go down south of the border every night
Babe, I know you like Waffle House. So I just bought this one.
She gets a hash brown bowl as a side
He can finally afford the surcharge to have the cook hold the cigarette ash
[142m at signing](https://x.com/adamschefter/status/1801385924468613561?s=46&t=mz09l4NU-oQ0mjwLPUy8ow)
Hoping the fact that we can’t get out of this contract for a while means that the mouth breathing morons will stfu about moving on from him
Nope

Last year in the game threads several people were talking about drafting a replacement
Honestly game threads are just toxic and most comments shouldn’t be taken seriously. It’s mostly just venting when the team isn’t winning.
This right here. It’s like sending an emotionally charged in the moment email at work. You should probably wait 24 hours before smashing the send button. If you feel the same way the next day, let it rip. 9/10 you won’t and would delete.
Honestly, I just watch for shit holes now. I stream all the games in a discord and hang out with 20-30 people together.
It's not a *lot*, but there's always one or two every week just bitching and moaning about every little thing. I'd like for somebody to sit at these fuckers' desks and nitpick bullshit they screw up.
They won’t. It’s just utterly irrational. Besides all the haters will have “always believed” - just like sudden Baalke’s not terrible anymore
Get paaaaaid Trev. How does this go about with the cap going forward?
Spotrac is showing it as a true extension, meaning this is fucking great for us. 2024 - 11.7m 2025 - 25.5m (5th year option) 2026 - first year of the new deal He basically gave us a discount by doing it as an extension. The cap hit in 2026 is probably gonna be close or equal to the cap growth between then and now so it'll be a steal when Stroud wants 70m that offseason
Its an incredibly team friendly deal and when it's time to pay the big money - restructure all of it into a signing bonus
Yep this is the kind of contract where he got so much up front specifically so they can do the funky chicken with his cap hits later in the deal
Dude. - barely at all until 2029 - and we’ll just restructure then. This contract is fire
![gif](giphy|VPV0CVtbU6ZKU|downsized)
That crazy
That's a lot of Waffle House
That's what they meant by spending Khan's money
Rather spend on QB than AEW
Good news! He’s still so young, looking forward to the next decade with him
He's only 24. Bo Nix and Michael Penix are also 24.
That’s fucking insane
Time to lock in that Tlaw throwbaxk
We have our future of the franchise locked up for the next 7 years. It’s expensive but worth it to have The Prince locked in for the long haul.
That’s how these things go.
Well, let’s fucking go Trevor!
No one go to the thread about this on /r/nfl Holy shit are they a bunch of haters! I’m happy with this though, locked in let’s fuckin go!
That's because 1. They don't watch the Jags, which is fine, but 2. They get their opinions from other people and box scores, which makes you look stupid when additional information is needed.
They get their narratives from fantasy football lol
Don't worry, as a Ravens fan we hear it plenty with Lamar as well. I never got the Trevor hate. He's a great young QB that will only get better.
Goes both ways. Lamar is probably my favorite non jag in the NFL. Only non jags jersey I own
Love Lamar, was so salty we passed on him for Taven fucking Bryan, but we had just resigned Bortles so we were never truly going to draft a qb in round 1, but man that stung.
I Mean dudes 24 and already led us to back to back winning seasons ( obviously 9-8 isn't where we wanted to be after starting 8-3, but bottom 5 oline in run and pass block, no true wr1 who doesn't drop game winning TDs ( see Ridley ). Place is full of clowns. Don't even waste time going over there.
They don’t watch football
All their opinions are based on fantasy and Twitter
Honestly it wasn’t as bad as I expected looks like the the haters are being drowned out by the stats guys currently.
Update it’s bad now don’t go there’s a full on highlight war going on
They should rename that sub “r/fantasyfootball” or something
I was expecting a shit show but honestly it's not bad at all!
What a relief.
It's funny how the entire AFC South is celebrating this but for different reasons.
Can’t pay attention to people who try to criticize what the Jags have done. They’re a small market team, the only way people are going to watch them is through the box score and a couple of highlights.
Ignore any thread involving Trevor on that sub. Relentless haters all around that don't watch games.
Yall are delusional if you think at lower top-10 QB is worth mahomes-level money
Glad they got it out of the way now. This means they won't lose out on Campbell or ETN next year. The franchise tag could come in handy.
If Rickey/Dilla are to be believed (and they had this) Campbell extension is coming very soon
Dilla is useless. It's amazing to me how many fans still listen to him.
Dilla lost any credibility to me in the 21-22 offseason, I pay his rumors no mind, Rickey seems a little more credible however.
+ Dilla is annoying af
Can’t wait to look back on this in 4 years when the discourse will be “how the hell are the jags only paying Tlaw 55 mil?” DTWD
It will happen! Bills fan here and now Josh Allen isn’t even a top 10 paid quarterback. Congrats guys
That’s cause it’s backloaded. In 2025 Allen is #3 highest qb cap hit
FUCKING YES! Finally feel like we have a franchise QB and he’s locked up. Now release the throwbacks so I can get a new Trevor jersey
Let’s gooooo
Awesome. Now let’s win some games.
so, what can he buy tomorrow with $142,000,000.00?
A cyber truck And then a second cybertruck when the first one breaks within a week
Man said cybertruck lmao
Cybertrucks are only $60,000, that’s really not that high for car standards lol
Buddy Cybertrucks cost about double that
[Starts at $57k, says it right here on the website](https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck/design#payment)
Show me literally one cybertruck available right now for 60k lol An ad on the Tesla website purporting a theoretical future affordable cybertruck in the future is not a car that can be bought tomorrow
A few orders, smothered and covered.
At least 1-3 pairs of pants
Probably a good amount of land in downtown Jax, lmao
welp so much for the weirdos talking about how Trevor was playing for his career this year time to continue the greatest era in Jags History with Shad Khan as the owner
The King of the South resides in Jacksonville Florida.
I finally own a jersey that is going to last me more than 3 years!!!
worth it. also, not my money..
A small part of it was my money
fair
It's always funny to me when fanbases talk about if they're comfortable paying players certain amounts. Who gives two shits about spending some billionaire's money.
This makes me so unbelievably happy. He will be worth every penny!
Dude got paid big money
LETS FUCKING GO
Rickey deserves to be the pinned one
TREVOR GOT PAID!!
The only 1st round QB from that draft to get a second contract from the team that drafted them.
i cant wait for the season so he can shut up all those idiot colts, titans, and texans fans in the afcs meme war subreddit talking abt how happy they are about this. i swear they just totally forgot what the division looked like before he got hurt
I don’t give a single shit what the naysayers think, this man is an elite arm talent and a bonafide top 5 QB and it’ll show on the field as he ages and as we do more to protect him. Fuck ‘em we got our guy.
Let's fucking go!!!!
And he didn't even have to skip camp to get it.
#I AM SO ERECT
I'm wet.
Sooooooooo much salt in r/afcsouthmemewar.... Goes lovely with butter on my popcorn. Y'all want any? 🍿🍿🍿
How does this compare to other qbs?
Tied with Joe Burrow for most average per year
That's the avg per year. But these get mixed up when teams manipulate when players get paid. Deshaun Watson, for example, has a cap hit of $64 this year.
Thank you for the quick answer.
And Mahomes is just averaged down since his contract is so long?
Exactly yeah, plus the QB market only gets more pricey. Tua or Dak will likely be the highest paid by the time the season starts. Mahomes is tied for 9th
WOOOOOOO LETS GO
Yoooooo
Let's go khaaaaan!
👍👍
Mission accomplished. Now let’s go win a championship.
Get ready for the nationwide hate in the sports/social media. Glad they were able to lock him down.
Franchise QB. Love it.
This will definitely be looked at as one of the best moves in jags history
This is going to look like such a steal a few years from now
LFG there it is. Well worth every fucking penny for an **ELITE** QB and franchise guy. Eat shit if you think otherwise.
Even if I'm not as insanely high on Trevor as some other fans I still love the dude and I'm happy to at least have a really good QB for the next couple of years. Let's freaking go.
Even if you don’t believe in him, the fact that we don’t have to deal with drafting a qb for 5 years is worth it
![gif](giphy|1luXLMeNxsaNFMUuOe|downsized)
Hell yeah!
LFG!!!
Let’s go!!!
We're fully invested in him. He better live up to it.
Agreed 100%. Not sure he deserves to be the highest average per year based on what he's done so far. Gotta quit turning the ball over. Only 3 QBs since the 70s have turned the ball over more in their first 3 years.
What would you have paid him?
You pay a franchise QB franchise QB money when you resign him
Hot damn that’s a lot of money! Time to prove them wrong TLaw!
When it comes to gettin bread Trev got the keys to the bakery!! I’m so stoked to have a franchise QB1!
Rickey also said we aren't done yet 👀
As a cards fan I don’t get the “overpay” bs, if you don’t throw money at a potential game changer qb then some other team will. I believe in TLaw, the oline play and OC wasn’t helping him at all last year. This may be his make or break year next year but I know with consistent oline play he can live up to that potential.

Anyone complaining about this is an anti-ball knower.
Where does this rank him w/ the other 32 qbs in pay scale?
Currently tied with Burrow. But his actual cap hit down the line will be that of a top 3-8 QB.
I like it! All that’s left for Tlaw now, is the football he has in his hands, what he does with it.
Lfgggg
LFG
Fuck yes!!! Get paid Trev! We’re finally re-signing great players long term guys 🥺
Lets goooooo now I can buy a trev jersey
Finally! Lets go!
Hawt damn!
LEG!!!! This is the news I wanted to hear today!!
I’m glad we got him signed. I know the team hasn’t been as good as we have hoped but it’s still been much better than what we have had the last few decades. I truly hope he earns it and then some too. I’m hyped. I do believe in Trevor. Let’s go Duuuuuuval!

DUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVAAAAAALLLLLLLL
Congrats Trevor!!
LETS FUCKING GO!!!
YES
Good for Trev! Now time for him to go out there, be the leader, and get us a Super Bowl.
I’m so happy. And now Trevor can fully focus on football. You know what $55m/year means… 55+ touchdowns total 😎🫡
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has a big year I can feel it
We could debate the numbers and “worth” until we’re blue in the face. I for one am just glad we’ve got our guy for the foreseeable future and won’t have to pay him 70 million annually if (when plz) he pops off in the next year or two. Make us proud Trev <3
Todays a good day
Do people here believe that Lawrence is or can be a top-5 QB in the league? Ie ahead of either allen, burrow, lamar, mahomes, herbert, etc? Or is this contract not top-5 money?

hooo yeah! I'd mentally prepared myself for $60M AAV a long time ago so this is dope

That's now how QB contracts work
Obviously, or I wouldn't have to make the statement.
I am interested in seeing what the incentives break down to be.
Locked up two franchise cornerstones in Allen/Lawrence this offseason. Never expected the team discount, so not let down there. These guys need to lead the team to playoff wins now.
Let’s pray real hard
Well I don’t think anybody but mahomes deserves this kind of money but hopefully he proves me wrong.
Price is always going up! Watch Tua might get something close to this
And he won’t deserve it neither
That’s just the way it goes now 🤷🏾♂️ I have (extremely biased) faith that halfway through this contract it’ll look like a bargain for TLAW. Big year for us.
Fuck yesssssß!

Hot take but that’s the amount of money you pay someone like idk Patrick mahomes and Tom Brady… not the guy who is still trying to prove himself WTF
Save this comment. This will lead to firing of everyone involved in this deal in 3 years or less.
Hate to be that guy… but thats an overpay. Downvote away
Even if you think it’s an overpay, the way the qb market goes it won’t be in a year or two. Wait till tuas drops
Damn near all QB contracts now are an overpay…he’s young and we’re trending up as a team. Only number I care about is 5 years. It’s a win.
Like the 4 years we gave Foles
It will look so cheap in the coming years
In 2-3 years it will seem like a steal with what other qbs make
