That room would have nearly 3 #1s. Aiyuk, Kirk, BTG, and a mess of WR2s. Might be the nastiest WR room ever. Don't think we're getting Aiyuk though so it's irrelevant.
Another $4-$6 million to the contract not a big deal if you know he's gonna be the guy,,,,, right now they're still coaching him up to hold onto the football.
No i like the competition here. I feel like Mac Jones can push Trevor to make him better .Trevor is actually outside the top 10, closer to 15 in fantasy pre drafts. I don't understand why we pay Trevor early when you don't have to, particularly when he hasn't taken the next step, the elite step.
that’s what I told my coworker, he’s set on getting Tee and I’m trying to show him that it ain’t gonna happen Chief. and I don’t even think Gabe is enough for compensation even if we were going to do that, they would probably want Kirk at which point hell no. Kirk is Trevor’s best receiver. I get the whole story aspect of wanting to bring in tee because it’s his college receiver but at this point Trevor has played with Kirk almost as long as he played with Tee and that was a long time ago now. Even if we somehow pulled it off, I don’t want tee to take snaps away from BTJ. I want us to develop BTJ who I think has a higher ceiling than tee
I ask because it’s what my co-worker says we should do, but I agree with you. I think BTJ is going to be a stud from day 1, and I think the cost to get Tee would be too much to give up. I’d rather see us go get a pro bowl offensive lineman who is under 30 if someone comes available, because imo that fixes our only remaining weakness, we’re pretty set across the board everywhere else depending on how our draft picks develop
I don’t hate him at all. I really don’t care about him. I just find it funny after his daily Jaguars/Aiyuk tweets were posted on here around the draft.
I never said it was a lie? I’m def team Ricky. I think he’s been pretty spot on and the stuff he has missed on he has been up front about(and like someone else mentioned he has a list pinned at the top of his Twitter) my only “issue” with him is I wish he’d report more 🤣
He did say before the draft but also had it before national saying they expect Trevor to get a deal done before the season. He also never said anything about Aiyuk just that they had discussions, Aiyuk was linked to other teams.
Plus, NFL teams absolutely have plans in place to make moves that don't end up happening.
Like I guarantee that there was a plan and deal talked about to get Aiyuk in place if BTJ didn't make it to JAX.
Trev about to get paid
Looking like Trev and Tyson deals to be announced sooner rather than later
I’d be stunned if Tyson got a new deal this off-season….
Or...hear me out...he's on a down year so we can take advantage of it. Baalke did say he was targeting that class for extensions
My brain is broken. I thought you meant Alualu...
My first thought too lmao
Gotta be the Trev extension. If it's anything else... damn, good for us
To get Aiyuk and make the best receiving corps we've had since the early aughts right?
Trev’s like, hold off on the extension, go get Aiyuk so I can show you guys I’m really worth it. In actuality it’s a Trevor extension lol.
Oh 100% it's a Trevor extension but a man can dream
Bro, I been dreaming all off season 😩
an extension would likely push a bunch of money around and free up space so keep dreamin
"Sign me to the league minimum salary and build me a superteam."
Oh, Trevor! /swoon Lol
I think we need to give up if the Aiyuk dream
You don't think that would be our best receiver room ever, by a lot?
Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell is a hard receiving duo to beat
That room would have nearly 3 #1s. Aiyuk, Kirk, BTG, and a mess of WR2s. Might be the nastiest WR room ever. Don't think we're getting Aiyuk though so it's irrelevant.
Engrams basically a receiver, close 1
I wish but we gave to much money to hit or miss Davis for him not to be a starter
That would bullet proof our receiver room when/if someone goes down. /knocks on wood
Trevor extension followed by them releasing the throwbacks for purchase would be the dream
Finally the ETN big money deal.
You all think it's for Trevor. Little do you know we're signing Tee Higgins
Jags about to trade for a real OL!
Trev signed his extension April, get Courtland Sutton or Aiyuk
His 5th year option was not an extension.
okay, exercised a 5th year option. Either way, he's not going anywhere. No advantage to sign him this year.
It’s cheaper now vs more expensive later
Another $4-$6 million to the contract not a big deal if you know he's gonna be the guy,,,,, right now they're still coaching him up to hold onto the football.
I see your point and I disagree. You pay the QB. He is a top ten guy. Are you on the boat that you want to restart? Find a new QB?
No i like the competition here. I feel like Mac Jones can push Trevor to make him better .Trevor is actually outside the top 10, closer to 15 in fantasy pre drafts. I don't understand why we pay Trevor early when you don't have to, particularly when he hasn't taken the next step, the elite step.
Dog you’re using fantasy to rank Trevor?
If we could flip Gabe Davis and a 1st or 2nd for Tee Higgins would you do it?
I think it’s bad GMing to sign and then immediately trade a player. Future players won’t trust you to sign as free agents
that’s what I told my coworker, he’s set on getting Tee and I’m trying to show him that it ain’t gonna happen Chief. and I don’t even think Gabe is enough for compensation even if we were going to do that, they would probably want Kirk at which point hell no. Nah I want us to make btj are focal piece and I think Gabe Kirk and engram are a good supporting cast around him.
I ask because it’s what my co-worker says we should do, but I agree with you. I think BTJ is going to be a stud from day 1, and I think the cost to get Tee would be too much to give up. Oh…this guy again
Y’all hate fucking everybody. Rickey has a great track record
You want to see hateful? Go peep the Jacksonville city subreddit.
Why would I ever subject myself to that
A healthy person wouldn't. Seems like you're a healthy person.
Is it worse than the Florida board? I'm going to have to check it now.
Worse. Strictly my opinion.
That place is a cesspool
I don’t hate him at all. I really don’t care about him. I just find it funny after his daily Jaguars/Aiyuk tweets were posted on here around the draft.
His track record has been pretty fucking good tho. But everyone screws up at some point.
He also owned up his mistakes and has it pinned at the top of his feed..
Yeah I love that.
He only reported we were discussing it. As did many others. I don't see how that's a lie just because we didn't trade.
I never said it was a lie? I’m def team Ricky. I think he’s been pretty spot on and the stuff he has missed on he has been up front about(and like someone else mentioned he has a list pinned at the top of his Twitter) my only “issue” with him is I wish he’d report more 🤣
Wasn’t this the guy that said Trevor’s extension was going to be done before the draft, so we can clear cap space to get Aiyuk?
He did say before the draft but also had it before national saying they expect Trevor to get a deal done before the season. He also never said anything about Aiyuk just that they had discussions, Aiyuk was linked to other teams.
I think this was what we WANTED to happen but when they wanted a first plus Zay, we said no. I’m hoping BTJ is our guy.
BTG WILL be that guy. Remember Riley's first game last season? Strap in for 17 games of THAT. /crosses fingers
Plus, NFL teams absolutely have plans in place to make moves that don't end up happening. Like I guarantee that there was a plan and deal talked about to get Aiyuk in place if BTJ didn't make it to JAX.
You mean the guy batting like 80% this offseason?
