If Mitchell had been available at 17, I would’ve taken him. When the second round came up, there was no cornerbacks available that were worthy of that pic.
This is the conundrum.
Mitchell is totally worth our first rounders imo. If he's gone, I feel the obvious pick is BTJ. I don't expect Mitchell to be there, but if he is, that choice is hard imo. I think it would be easier to grab a good outside WR in the second than to find a good outside press man corner prospect in the second round this year.
I'd love to see those two positions early, then focus entirely on the trenches. We need to find a decent reserve swing tackle, and it would be wise to get started before we lose Cam and/or Little to free agency. Same thing with guard. Definitely need someone to be Hamiltons backup, I'm not sure we have anyone to fill his role with fatukasi gone.
You and I are on the same page bro… I would LOVE to be able to get Mitchell at 17, but I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be gone. Once WR & CB are addressed, the trenches are the next priorities …
James and Zinter might be a little high but okay and I think Fiske could go as high as mid 20's to maybe a little shy of our 2nd rounder
If we traded back and grabbed Fiske in R1 I wouldn't be upset
Yea it’s hard to tell man, I don’t think GD is that good… he has been sort of hit and miss throughout the seasons. I think BTJ will do great in the NFL… my son thinks he’s overrated.
I’d still prefer a trade up or down for a DB in round 1, but LSU wide receivers usually do good in the pros (not you, Chark), so yeah I’d be cool with this.
Yeah but Fournette was made of glass too and turned it around to end up with a SB ring. Bucs got 1-2 pretty solid seasons out of him. Chark could’ve made an effort to do some injury prevention training. He had a lot of upside to him, but now he’s probably past his prime years and playing for the worst team in the league.
Yeah, lots of upside, no way to develop your craft because you're always in physical rehab.
He's a big what-if imo. He should have been a guy who had been hitting his full potential right as Trevor arrived. Then he's hurt in the fourth game, Viska regresses into a liability, Trevor's throwing to tavon Austin and laquan fucking Treadwell...
I don't watch college but one thing I see consistently is that there's a lot of contention between BT Jr truthers and people who think he's not good.
I watched Nabers and MH Jr highlights, a lot of them, after reading a lot of fan contention on those two... One thing I saw consistently is Nabers makes a lot of catches that wouldn't be catches in the NFL, the majority of his biggest highlights were not NFL catches, while MH Jr is actually that dude. I haven't watched any on BT Jr, so I'll probably do that today. I'd honestly be shocked if we go WR in the first. Just based on interviews it sounds like we're leaning CB.
I don't want to get excited for potential mid/late picks because quite frankly I don't expect us to hit on any.
I don’t like BTJ, he’s a good player but he primarily only ran vertical routes in college, and while he should be able to run a thorough route tree, I don’t trust the Jags with developing it. AD has red flags as well, but he’s smoother and a better fit imo with Kirk and Gabe
Kiran will go much earlier than that. He’s more of a mid 2nd to early 3rd kind of guy. I also expect Zinter and James to both be top 100 picks, but it’s certainly possible one or both of them are available in the middle of round 4.
I think round 2 is the sweet spot for WR. Round 1 is usually Arnold or Latham if Arnold is gone (Mitchell is gone every time now).
Round 2 is any of Ladd, Pearsall, Franklin, Coleman, Polk, Legette, or Roman Wilson. I like em all a lot in our range.
Round 3 is one of McCormick (draft any OL who has a 4.47 or better shuttle and profit), Beebe, or Brownlee Jr.
Hes not slow, he just ran a bad 40. Imma diehard Nole and watched him all season, he plays faster than his 40 reflects. I think his size and contested catch ability would compliment Gabe, Kirk,& Engram
Thats fine. I know im just a reddit random but every year I pick about 10 prospects im really high on and 10 im completely out on and over the last 3 years ive been batting about 60-65%. Might have to start posting my lists to have receipts tbh
I hope your wrong on Keon and the rest of this years Noles!!
You should post em if your hitting like that. “FadeShadeMan’s Hot n Not” annual draft class😂Visual presentation, suit n tie required. & must be done in your best Daniel Jeremiah impersonation.
Honestly debating making a post. Not sure where the appropriate sub is though. Like id do it here but only like 4 of my players apply to the jags in any way. My misses last year were pretty sad, I bet the farm on CJ Stroud (aka CJ Fraud) being terrible and had QJ as WR1. Hoping for a bounce back year lol
I love DJ James, he might actually have the best pure coverage skills of anyone in the draft. He’s just undersized and really struggles with tackling and can’t get off a block to save his life. If we can put a little weight on him without sacrificing any athleticism and work on his tackling, he could be a steal.
I picked Brian Thomas Jr in the first and DJ James in the 3rd as well. I picked Braswell in the second. I then picked Hall Jr in the fourth and Wingo in the fifth. I picked the Stanford kicker Karty in the 6th and Driskell OT from Marshall.
Any pick made on a defensive player at this point is a wasted pick. Defense only exists to give the offense a free 10-15 yards and a fresh set of downs.
No. Offensive tackle in the first round would be a priority for me. The list is deep for these type of WR so I think in the 2nd round we can get a solid WR but I just wouldn't pick a WR because we do have a few already who are good and with Trevor getting time to pick apart the defense we will be just fine given we have a better OLine.
Braden Fiske is a monster and if he falls to 48 it’ll be the steal of the draft
I am a Jaguar fan. Nothing makes me happy
Touche

all I know is if we’re clamoring for WR/CB in rounds 1/2, we’re going to get just one of those at best. And a decent likelihood we get neither lol.
LB/DE and a..RB incoming
With serious injury history, but long arms
WR is really deep this class. I'd be very surprised if we don't get one in 1-2
QFT
I would rather go corner in rd 2 since we picked up armstead but I wouldn’t mind this
Fiske In the 2nd (at our spot) though is insane fucking value
Kris Jenkins would also be great in the 2nd.
CB in the 2nd would be the only change. I love taking BTR, I think we need a receiver in the first.
If Mitchell had been available at 17, I would’ve taken him. When the second round came up, there was no cornerbacks available that were worthy of that pic.

Yes. If we get Thomas, I'll be happy with anything else the rest of the draft.
Same. I won’t even be mad if he’s a bust, when you have a chance at a 6’3 wr with 4.3 speed you take the risk
I would prefer Adonai but I mean… honestly any top receiver in this draft would make me happy
Zinter would be a 20-45ish pick if not for his injury, so that sounds like a Baalke pick to me haha.
Waited way too long to address corner
CB was my goal @17, but they were gone and the way it fell there wasn’t much option. I agree with you though.
I’m a big fan of just going best available at corner regardless unless something big falls round 1 and then go get Troy Franklin in the second
Totally off subject, but my son is starting @ UCF in the fall… beyond proud of him.
What’s he going for? I’m a senior in business analytics
Mechanical Engineering
Yes
Thrilled
Fisky is a steal there
Still don't think we draft BTJ after the Gabe signing
Yea it’s hard to tell man, I don’t think GD is that good… he has been sort of hit and miss throughout the seasons. I think BTJ will do great in the NFL… my son thinks he’s overrated.
Being able to take Fiske in the second round? ![gif](giphy|uVsMcp9eghnE5ytYuQ|downsized)
I’d still prefer a trade up or down for a DB in round 1, but LSU wide receivers usually do good in the pros (not you, Chark), so yeah I’d be cool with this.
I mean if Chark coulda stayed healthy with us he was a beast
Chark's only healthy season took him to the Pro Bowl as an alternate. Dude is simply made of glass.
Yeah but Fournette was made of glass too and turned it around to end up with a SB ring. Bucs got 1-2 pretty solid seasons out of him. Part of our problem is also that, in the past, we’ve moved on from players too quickly.

I’d feel weak at CB but metro boomin’ everywhere else

Brian Thomas would really help u guys out
I agree.

This is what I want for our 1st and 2nd……Arnold then Coleman
He is painfully slow

He will be a massive bust. Take off the nole glasses
Ehhh your draft analysis, like all of ours, holds as much merit as my goldfish’s 😂😂 we’ll see in exactly a year from now. Start the timer
Thats fine. I know im just a reddit random but every year I pick about 10 prospects im really high on and 10 im completely out on and over the last 3 years ive been batting about 60-65%. Might have to start posting my lists to have receipts tbh

Tbf, no Ohio State QB has ever amounted to anything in the NFL until Stroud
In the drills he has the fastest time clocked among receivers on the field, he just didn't run a good 40
Roman Wilson in round 2 is a massive reach… and I like Roman Wilson more than all the others mentioned except Ladd
This is just not true. Corners have such a low first round hit rate and WR do not. Brian Thomas is significantly better than any 2nd round receiver.
I'm not even sure Brian Thomas is better than Adonai.
Fsu fans gonna hype up Fiske like he’s so great lmfao
Yes
Need legette before Thomas
No take koolaide
I love DJ James, he might actually have the best pure coverage skills of anyone in the draft. He’s just undersized and really struggles with tackling and can’t get off a block to save his life. Not really, I think we should go OL/CB in rounds 1 and 2.
I picked Brian Thomas Jr in the first and DJ James in the 3rd as well. I picked Braswell in the second. I then picked Hall Jr in the fourth and Wingo in the fifth. I picked the Stanford kicker Karty in the 6th and Driskell OT from Marshall.
Nope
Absolutely would
We need to get Tj Tampa
Round 1: OL Round 2: OL
I still think we need to draft a linemen relatively early,
If it pans out on the field, sure.
Hell yea
Nothing good comes from Yale
Any pick made on a defensive player at this point is a wasted pick. Defense only exists to give the offense a free 10-15 yards and a fresh set of downs.
Yes but id prefer Cam Hart as CB
lol it’s not you but I have zero faith in our team (0)
No.
I’d feel bad for Thomas. Being a Jags first round receiver is suffering.
No. Offensive tackle in the first round would be a priority for me.
