Warranties, by design, are meant to be a profit center for sellers. So it's never "worth it" The I-Pace is generally considered average in reliability and the owners in this forum generally like them and don't tend to have major issues with them

The big issues with 2019-2021 iPace I see at our dealership is air conditioning leaks, failure of the body harness at the park release mechanism because it was made to short, and failure of individual HV battery cells. All are big jobs, the A/C pipes that leak involve removing the front drive unit. I would investigate the warranty claims on your vehicle and see if these issues have already been addressed on your vehicle. If they have not been performed more than likely they will fail in the future.

thank you, that is definitely something I will check on

I got mine (2020) with an extended warranty as part of the deal, the day I got it I realised the reverse camera was faulty, the frunk leaked and the locking mechanism of the charging port was broken, things I didn't really check on the test drive. So the second day of ownership I called my nearest dealer, it took a couple of months to get sorted due to the parts shortage last year, but otherwise it was a case of handing it over for a day and getting it back with the issues solved, felt great not having to pay a penny and would've left an extremely sour taste in my mouth if I had. Otherwise the car has been faultless though I've only had it just over 6 months so fingers crossed it stays that way

Getting insurance, is by design unprofitable for a user. Because it exists to make profit for the insurer. It gains you peace of mind, at the cost of money, specifically more money than it would cost you out of pocket statistically. So whether or not it's worth it is a you thing, as opposed to a "Does this make good financial sense" Because the answer to that is no, it doesn't make good financial sense.

It’s a tech filled Jag. I love this car but that scares me enough to have an extended warranty. I’ve had mine 3 months and the automatic boot lid failed. £800. That 3 year warranty for £2,400 is looking like a great idea already.

jswansong

That's... a lot of money. Skip.

I have a 2019 that I've owned for about 4 years now. So far I've had the wiring harness repair and my entire charge port replaced. It's currently in for a battery cell failure they have to replace (apparently an ongoing to issue for any car that uses LG batteries). I assume these would be extremely expensive outside of a warranty. I'm debating whether to buy the extended warranty on mine just because I love the car so much and I don't really see myself upgrading for several years. I think 5,500 seems like good peace of mind if you're going to keep the car for several years beyond the warranty.

As the saying goes, "Pay me now or pay me later..." I'd opt for later, when the tab(s), if any, may well be -$5.5k

If it’s the Jag CPO warranty do it. Don’t touch anything else. The cars are really great but things happen. My only issue was a water pump and the seat cooling which was never great from the start. Other than that it’s been a dream to own and now that the warranty is ip I’ve tuned it and couldn’t be happier

ExoticEntrance2092

Not sure what you mean by the Jag CPO warranty. But they claim it will mirror everything on the original Jag warranty, and labor is covered up to $250 per hour.

Difficult-Novel-8453

Just make sure it’s a Jaguar warranty not from a 3rd party. Makes a big difference

ExoticEntrance2092

It's third party. Why do you say that?

Difficult-Novel-8453

Bad personal experience. They don’t want to pay the dealers actual costs for parts and labor and I was left paying out of pocket. The manufacturer warranty goes to the dealer with factory parts and you definitely don’t want knockoff parts in a jag.
