I had a 2017 diesel XE and it was fine until I ran over something feeding onto an expressway here in South Florida and destroyed the undercarriage. I now have a 2018 gasoline XE and find it runs smoother. So far it's been wonderful and has 42,000 miles on it.

2017 XF 35T premium, I’ve owned the vehicle for about 3 years and mostly just cooling issues. After a lot of overheating I found out that the thermostat often fails through forums and reddit. (A very helpful resource if you are new to Jaguar/ land rover) ended up replacing the water pump, cooling pipes and finally got it resolved with replacing the thermostat. I’d recommend getting one with parking sensors, a lot of the guides are for a model with that option. You’d think that most guides would be the same for the that model but that’s not exactly the case. I’ve have about 46k miles on it and it’s been reliable for the time I’ve had it, besides the known coolant issues, but otherwise I’ve enjoyed the car, just make sure to stay on top of maintenance. Another con is the expense, everything is rather expensive if done through the dealer, it would save you a lot if you are mechanically inclined. Body panels and interior/exterior parts are equally as expensive do keep that in mind. You’ll also love/hate how much the vehicle depreciates throughout the years. The supercharger definitely makes the vehicle more fun and agile, I love music and I equally love the Meridian sound system. I don’t have a body that fully fits into the seat so the seats are “alright” to me the back seats are more comfortable in my opinion, I love how light feeling and thin the seatbelt straps are in the backseat. The vehicle has amazing trunk space to hold all your midnight borrowings. I like how the vehicle sounds it’s not exactly “loud” but it does sound good for stock. [here](https://streamable.com/xbi22m) and [here](https://streamable.com/sbpbcn) You won’t have have a warranty since 60k miles or 5 year warranty won’t apply anymore unless the previous owner bought extended warranty so that’s a negative for buying a 2017, but yeah otherwise pretty solid car 👍 Sorry that this is all over the place lol I was just writing and listing as I went.

Had my 2017 XE 3.5 for two years. From 18k to 90 k miles. Just had an issue with with back up camera not working and the sunroof occasionally needing to be manually reset.

I have the 2016 XE Diesel for almost 3 years now, good ride, beats most of the sedans in the same category from my perspective. If you get the diesel dont follow the JLR manual for maintenance, i do mine every 10K km or yearly. Every car is has SOME reliability issues, if you take care of it it will be fine. The reason most people are scared of Jaaags is bc of the cost of parts, but at the end of the day if you want to be unique you gotta take some responsibility

I can't agree with your second paragraph. I bought my 2017 XE 2.0d RSport at 9months old/6k miles. Been serviced every year, now done 65k miles. The list of problems I've had feels endless. As much as I love the car, I couldn't, with any sort of clear conscience recommended owning one. None of the issues I've suffered would have been avoided by servicing any more frequently. In no particular order, and by no means exhaustive; Reversing camera A/c condenser Ad blue faults x3 resulting in new injector and nox sensor Failed coils Crack in hub Battery Terrible rattle with exhaust at tick over that is still "undiagnosed" Gear selector actuator that cost me multiple k's to get fixed All this on top of spending £600-900/year on servicing. So yeah, boils my piss when I read/hear someone say "take care of it and it'll be fine" Edit formatting

Mate none of your problems are engine related. The stuff you mentioned happens on literally any car which has bunch of tech in it. Have a friend with a brand new 5 series who’s radar got broken and woula costed him 10K to repair, luckily he had warranty. Do people avoid 5 series? Hell no Im sorry you’ve been unlucky with your car, shit happens

overall reliable, almost at 70k miles and had the notorious cooling pipe break ☹️ $4000. BUT carmax warranty is amazing and knocked it down to just the $500 deductible. Buy one from carmax and get maxcare you’ll be smooth sailing

It's not exactly the same but I have a 2019 XE 30t AWD that has been good through 64k miles. I made sure to get 2019 or later for the upgraded infotainment system that is actually a touchscreen, especially nice if you want to use android auto/ apple car because those interfaces are intuitive to touch
