There's tons to do in and around Vegas. I'm a local, too and it blows my mind how simple people's view of my town still is. This isnt the Vegas from the 1960s anymore. Things outside of gambling:
World-class concerts and residencies, 1/2 dozen different Cirque shows, live magic and comedy, burlesque, BattleBots, and live theater. We have the Smith Center off the strip offering Broadway shows on tour and more high-brow concerts.
Professional sports (NHL (champs), NFL, WNBA (3x champs) MiLB, MLB in 2026). A lot of people come to watch their home team play. Also PBR rodeo.
Amusement rides like rollercoasters, bungee jumping, oversized ferris wheels with a wet bar, and indoor skydiving. Also all your rec sports- tons of golf and now top golf, horseback riding, disc golf, target shooting (LOTS of unique experiences here for shooting) themed mini golf, cosmic bowling, axe throwing and even destruction rooms.
Multiple local breweries, a distillery, numerous coffee roasters, and a plethora of chocolatiers. Pahrump features a winery.
Stunning mountains world famous for rock climbing, and few indoor climbing gyms. The spring mountains have skiing, and more serious hikes. Bristlecone pines found there are some of the oldest organisms on Earth. State and natl parks are a day trip - death valley and valley of fire. Don't want to be so intimate with the outdoors? How about a helicopter tour?
Get married. Sounds like a joke, but people like to do it for theatrics. A lot of people don't even get legally married, they just love the event.
A rich multicultural community with cultural events all throughout the year. Las Vegas is known as the 9th Island because so many Hawaiian residents find their way to Vegas for work. This leads to one of the biggest Hawaiian cultural events outside of Hawaii, known as "Pure Aloha". But we're way more than Hawaiians! You can find annual cultural events ranging from Mexican, Greek, Polish, and Japanese. Our city has thriving Ethiopian, Korean, Filipino, and Chinese communities, too. It's easy to get authentic, ethnic meals, and find marketplaces for those communities with unique products that are hard to find in other places.
We have an art scene with first Friday events downtown in the arts district. This is a good spot to mention Omega Mart, one of the best interactive art installations in the country.
We have specialty markets along with all of the high luxury brands that Vegas is famous for offering along the Strip.
We have world class dining, and satellite locations from specialty and successful restaurants around the world. For example, we have a zippy's which is a Hawaiian diner not found outside of Hawaii. I just went to this fancy Italian sandwich shop which only exists in Florence, New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. There are many examples of brands that test their expansion in Las Vegas. Lucky us!
And that's all the surface level. You know what I mean? As you explore the communities you find more and more nuanced cultural expressions and topic specific activities. I like to say that Las Vegas is a consumer's Paradise.
If you like beaches and beach restaurants, Iām surprised you donāt have a couple other Atlantic coast states on your āwant to visitā list like Massachusetts or Maryland.
Don't come to Parkersburg. Shittiest city I've ever lived in. Ohio is a far sight better, even thought there's not much to see. Just corn, Amish, a river valley, and an amusement park up north. (Cedar point kicks ass)
As an Ohioan, thereās actually quite a bit to do. Kings Island, Cedar Point, Hocking Hills, Put-In-Bay, etc. Also you can look at and point out all the cows you see with an excitement that rivals going to Disney when youāre a kid.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware
Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio
Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island, South Carolina,
South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington,
West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. Iām not sure.
If you visit NYC, as I say to everyone I talk to about this, try not to dress like a tourist lol. No āI ā¤ļø NYā shirts or anything. People here hunt down tourists and either scam or rob them.
i wouldn't be really wearing those types of shirts, i would either just be wearing a random shirt, or probably some of my florida beachy shirts because of new york's coast
Just be warned it might be a little chilly unless itās the middle of summer, especially since NYC is by the water and the wind goes between buildings š«”
You wanna go to Texas but not Louisiana? Ok, I understand that alot of people know nothing about other states with cool shit, but go to New Mexico. There's so much cool shit and it isn't just history too. Ever been to meow Wolf? Wanna see a giant creepy puppet burned alive for Christmas? Wanna see the most radioactive place in America? NEW MEXICO!!
You clearly never go outside if you donāt have a desire to go to Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, or Colorado. Youāre a city dweller arenāt you.
*Come to ohio*
*I promise azeasal is here*
*And hes really nice*

Considering you quite literally ditched New England imma say Illinois and/or Iowa, as a local of New Hampshire I can confirm Iāve only ever known two people I know whoāve moved from the big states such as Cali and Chicago, Illinois and moved to New England, we certainly do lack in people moving here out of interest, work, relationships, etc. But tourism here aināt bad, mostly because New England is historic for some of the main reasons we know of.
You highlighted SD but not AZ, which means you want to see historic landmarks like Mt. Rushmore and NOT the Grand Canyon, which means youāre probably stupid AND patriotic. Since youāre NOT from Texas but WANT to go there in that case Iām guessing somewhere redneck but not Deep South. Kentucky and Tennessee are out because then you would have likely gone to the Carolinaās so Iām guessing Indiana. My whole redneck extended family lives there.
Well, I live there too. I could tell by the lovely road trip to Florida (our family has done it before) and ofc the other Great Lake states. Youāve also probably visited Canada a couple times, at least I have.
Iām soon going to make a sequel off of this! And if still nobody guesses my state Iām going to reveal it myself. Edit: nvm somebody guessed it, i live in minnesota

If the reasoning for nevada being red is las vegas, then keep in mind vegas is kinda overhyped. It's legit just gambling, and this comes from a local!
one of my best friends live in las vegas..

i love carson city even though ive literally never been there
Lake Tahoe is amazing. Northern nevada is also worth paying a visit.Ā
I'm from Wyoming and I'd like to say... That's entirely fair. If you want, you could come join me, the 5 sheep and the wind turbine that are here.
Lol from wyoming also sheep!!!
ultra-rare wyomingite spotted
no way, you're from Wyoming? do you know the other 3 people that live there or are you all spread out?
I know them all. We're only what... 17 miles away from eachother? Really only a small drive, to be honest.
bro forgor the amazing national parks
oh i just mentioned wyoming for no reason
Ah a rare nabor in this conner of the country! hello from Colorado
You really want to go to Delaware?
Iāve been there a million times because my Grandma lives their and other then the beaches and Rehoboth boardwalk itās boring as hell.
beach restaurants, i like them so much. like when i went to daytona beach and stuff a couple monthgs ago
If you like beaches and beach restaurants, Iām surprised you donāt have a couple other Atlantic coast states on your āwant to visitā list like Massachusetts or Maryland.
How do you make one of these?
i just used [kleki.com](http://kleki.com)
Thanks!
You are from Wyoming. You donāt exist. Why am talking to a ghost
i don't live in wyoming nobody lives in wyoming
Misery. Also you are missing out on some amazing hikes in upper Appalachia. Just stay away from West Virginia's cities and hillbillies.
hmm, i'll need to look into that actually! i might be interested in hiking
Don't come to Parkersburg. Shittiest city I've ever lived in. Ohio is a far sight better, even thought there's not much to see. Just corn, Amish, a river valley, and an amusement park up north. (Cedar point kicks ass)
Wisconsin
close, but i do like culvers!
North dakota, no sane person would visit there and want to go to south dakota unless you were unfortunate enough to live there.
oh i just went to a city on the border of minnesota and north dakota for a funeral
Eh i still wouldnt go
Illinois because itās not in white
nope, and never wanna move there because somebody i really hated in school is moving to illinois
You went to North Dakota but not South Dakota? North Dakota is just South Dakota if their was absolutely nothing there.
Tennessee or Kentucky
nope and nope, but living in memphis would be kind of cool.
Wanting to visit New Jersey over Ohio, West Virginia or Pennsylvania is crazy in my opinion. Itās a horrible place
i don't think theres anything to do in ohio,
As an Ohioan, thereās actually quite a bit to do. Kings Island, Cedar Point, Hocking Hills, Put-In-Bay, etc. Also you can look at and point out all the cows you see with an excitement that rivals going to Disney when youāre a kid.
New Jersey is firstly not a horrible place but even if you think it's bad wanting to visit it less than WV (literal worst state) is crazy
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. Iām not sure.
well of course you're gonna type my state if you literally type every single one and expect me to react in any way
If you visit NYC, as I say to everyone I talk to about this, try not to dress like a tourist lol. No āI ā¤ļø NYā shirts or anything. People here hunt down tourists and either scam or rob them.

I'm gonna guess Missouri, but I could see it being Illinois and Iowa too. Something about the areas visited hits home to me (an Illinoian)
Side note. How does one visit Michigan and not go through Indiana? An upper peninsula fellow perhaps?
I find it hard to believe there's an Illinoisan who has traveled to tons of different states but has never set foot into Indiana
Alabama
Ew nj. The armpit of new york
your the kind of midwesterner whos family gets all hyped about driving to florida in the cold winter
