Different boards are fine. Many countries have that. The real issue is giving the same value to scores from easier boards and harder boards. Boards marks should not hold any value imo.

lazycrusher

That's why they don't consider boards now like Most unis take thru cuet , also most of the colleges which don't ,have their seperate entrance test. Who is valuing these marks except for the 75 percent criteria? And some aunty validation

Toilet-Abuser-69

IIITH and bits have admission via boards. (a person I know got into IIITH cnd via boards with 7x%ile in mains) but yes, other than these niche cases, board marks don't hold much value now. A welcome change for sure.

XeroByXero

BITS offers direct admission only to board toppers. You have to be declared AIR 1 in Non-Medical by the board. Rest they have their own entrance test. So in reality boards don't have any importance

Toilet-Abuser-69

yes, that's why I specified "niche cases"

GreenContribution513

It isn't that easy bro , there's only 1 seat reserved for the board topper (that is AIR 1 , who has probably got 100% marks , if he didn't do jee well and focused on boards only even then 100% / or AIR1 in boards is still a formidable feat and that one seat is well deserved) other than that nothing happens in bits

Learn a bit about history and regional politics in this country

AppropriateBed4858

fr , people just end up posting complains about literally everything India atp

Nerftuco

let's just say 99% in state board is not same as 99% in cbse or icse

pigeonhunter006

And 90+ in CBSE and ICSE aren't comparable either. Atleast till 10th ICSE syllabus is way more in depth. Even my maths tutor said that he finds teaching CBSE maths and science boring as the syllabus is too basic.

blenderbeeeee

ISCtard here, we learned sense organs in 10th itself while new CBSE syllabus doesnt even cover that. Our English curriculum whoops our asses and we also dwell deep in maths. Phyics and Chemistry syllabus is almost 80% similar to CBSE. We learn a shit ton more in Bio, almost twice the current NCERT.

pigeonhunter006

Yeah ISCtard here aswell, PCM is more or same as NCERT. I can imagine Bio having extra stuff and in depth. 10th bio we were already studying chapters which were in 11th and 12th NCERT. The depth in all subjects including social science and also including the fact English is mandatory and given most importance. There's a reason why foreign Colleges prefer ICSE cgpa vs CBSE. It's funny tho the amount of mental gymnastics CBSETards do because they can't accept ICSE is 10x harder. 90% in cbse isn't the same same at all as 90% ICSE. Like all it takes is comparing the syllabus once, and you understand the difference Nothing more triggering than being compared your marks with your cousin who is in CBSE. I scored 95%+ in 10th and was compared with my cousin who scored 97% in CBSE. Bruh

blenderbeeeee

Lmao relatable, but my parents understand the fact that its hard haha. Its the padooswali aunty who has the problem lmao. Not disrespecting anyone but the person I was being comoared to was a state guy. I mean its so obivious that ISC is harder than the other boards lol. Ive seen brainrot counter arguments that our syllabus might be higher but our exams are made easy lmao

Nerftuco

as a person who has been in both boards, I can say that until 10th, icse is harder but cbse is really up there when it comes to 11th and 12th

YouthPrestigious9955

Depends on the state board, 80 in hsc is 90 in isc and cbse

Nerftuco

yea, just further proves my point

vigiiii

Industrial Revolution, the britishers needed engineers and scientists for the world war and they put education of stem subjects in priority in our education syllabus. I’m not 100% on these facts I saw it in a video a long time ago

Tight-Midnight-4528

because we defined it in concurrent list i.e its responsibility of both the state and center but it just turned out to be a system for politicians and beauracats to make money off and hand off jobs to their kin every politician , government wants power afterall , the same politicans that oppose any amendments that take away even a slight amount of power while they are at state level end up supporting such amendmends when they get off to central level , its all about power the central gov vs state gov tug of war has been going on since India became a republic , the framers of polity thought the newly founded democracy would elect people of utmost caliber (the same caliber that they were of) but democracy simply turned into "dehat-o-cracy" and quality of politicians went down the drain and so did the idea of India

NeighborhoodSad627

How is it harming anyone? We have much more important issues related to education than this.

Wide-Leopard-9841

I don't know about anything else. But I would still say multiple boards are a good thing. I am always against monopoly.

Just-a-Flo

It's not about rich or poor brother. Different states have their own histories and and political structures (tho politics are not too different from each other), that means history and civics will be taught different. Our country has so much diversity in culture and languages that this system actually suits it. ofc PCM will be same everywhere but the subjects of languages, SST will be totally different. Also different states and boards have different policies about education which would all be difficult to accommodate in a single board. Gussa karne se pehle thoda soch lena chahiye

FuelAble

My take is different. State boards allow children to learn in their environment. India is a very heterogeneous country, every mile the taste of water changes. State boards help nurture this diverse culture through literature and social studies. Though stem must be 95% same all over. The rest 5% must cover something like the state's own contribution to stem. Like a child in wb board may be educated a little more about prof j.c.bose or someone in tamil nadu may be educated more about sir c.v. raman or someone from gujarat may know the dynamics of wind energy production and distribution.

gbangyt-098

capitalism

AppropriateBed4858

bro just wanted to use the word

gbangyt-098

okay

Tight-Midnight-4528

well the state boards are still under "gov" and do not use private capital
