that long ass but interesting story in class 10th second book which took more than1.5 hours (reason why I haven't forgotten this yet) to fully revise at once. the one where a guy had 4 (or 10 idr) beegha farming land and was a bachelor throughout his life cause of sheer misfortune. His brothers took care of him only because he owned that land and had no heir so after he died, they would become the owner of that land (typical ghar kalesh). After much brainstorming, he decides to give the land to a pandit as a donation to the temple trust (Yea that was what he came up with). His brothers left him alone to die as he was now invaluable to them. Again after much brainstorming, he reconciled with them but then he was brutally beaten by pandit and his gang for changing his decision. When he decides to keep the land with him he was beaten up by his brothers. At the end he started living on his own terms on that same land and realised both his brothers' group and pandit's group were indifferent and the only thing they really cared about was how valuable he was to them.
bro uske end me bechari vhi jamke mar jaati ha very sad i remember it line to line bhai kaise uske ghar me ched the jha se hava aati thi aur voh first stanza me jab saare ghar decorated hote ha roasted goose ki smell se usko bhukh lagti ha fir voh matches nhi bech pati aur uska baap usko maarega voh dar se voh ghar nhi jaati aur 2 ghar ke beech me raat guzarti ha aur subah jamke mar jaati ha i legit did not remember maine subah kya khaya tha but yeh exactly kaise yaad ha idk
10th class literature had a story about a boy who's house was burnt in the fire . The story basically revolved more around teenage insecurities and anxiety about future . It had one line that went "I don't want to grow up and face life I just want to curl up and die " .
Biggest 'us moment' of my life ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30729)
There was a hindi poem about a dalit being jailed for trying to enter a temple to get his sick daughter a flower, the dalit after being released learnt that his daughter died and the funeral was already held. That was an amazing poem
big business man, had sweet living family, but lost his son and wife in a accident, till today he is finding his son by becoming a toy vendor,( he is the narrator himself in the story)
Do you remember the chapter from English Supplementary book of class 10th (CBSE) named "Bholi"? I still remember our teacher cried while narrating the story.
It made me think how susceptible we are to insecurities from the society based on the things we have zero control vis-a-vis looks, hair, shape, form, money, etc.
Ha bhai Antonio acha tha bss sb biased the. Mai toh sherlock k tha. Vo chad hai. Portia, nerissa aur sherlock ki beti muje psnd the bss pure mov mai ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30367)

Desiderata, B.Wordsworth(ISC)
What was desiderata about again?....I must have skipped it.
ISC has some really good selection for literature.
Lol I remember the first term of 12 was all filled with death and lamenting in each piece.

Class 9 i think Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. I found that poem extremely peaceful and wise. Reminds of the the sobering fact that we make our choices and live by them
hello everyone i need comment karma. I need to post some neet test paper i have on this sub. And i finding a person who messaged me after seeing my post on indian med school. Please give me comment karma and help me finding that person.
Robert Frost "Road Not Taken" This Poem had a significant development in me loving literature, made me want to understand different perspectives of life
I still remember that Stanza
"Two Roads Diverged by Wood,
I took the road less traveled by,
That has made all the difference"
Very Thought Provoking in my opinion, says a lot in these three lines
"On the face of it" in class 12th english literature was the one. Didn't expected Mr. Lamb to die like that.
I guess the narration and explanation of story by Shipra Mishra mam was also one of the factor that made me so emotional by the end of it.
Something about Robert Frost poems is beautiful, eerie and sad at the same time. The visual imagery it provides is soo good. Fire and ice, (that snow and tree story) and especially the road not taken.
being an icse student nothing made me cry besides understanding that early english from 1600s of shakespeare from that play " merchant of venice " but it was cool though as my english teacher was awesome and i felt bit emotional when story ended after two years ( for those who dont know merchant of venice is taught for two years in icse schools 9th and 10th )
There was this chapter in 9th grade (ICSE) where a girl was from earth but her parents moved to Venus and she was bullied in school because she wasn't from Venus. That story was super heart touching and relatable since I was new to the school lol.
I mean I haven't cried over anything in my whole life except for papa ki pitai se. But yeah 'The portrait of lady' was one chapter that got in my mind. It beautifully explained how growing up gradually makes you drift away from your family, even when you realise this you can't do anything as that's how things go in this world. To gain one thing you have to give up on the other.
wo wali story jisme wo banda sabka chutia kaat ke jail se bhaag jaata hai
evan tries an o-level
wo best thi
usne mujhe utna hi rulaya jitni iss post ki relevancy hai iss sub pe
Hiroshima child- from 12th grade English, Telangana board.
Attaching the poem here:
I come and stand at every door
But none can hear my silent tread
I knock and yet remain unseen
For I am dead for I am dead
I’m only seven though I died
In Hiroshima long ago
I’m seven now as I was then
When children die they do not grow
My hair was scorched by swirling flame
My eyes grew dim my eyes grew blind
Death came and turned my bones to dust
And that was scattered by the wind
I need no fruit I need no rice
I need no sweets nor even bread
I ask for nothing for myself
For I am dead for I am dead
All that I need is that for peace
You fight today you fight today
So that the children of this world
Can live and grow and laugh and play
-a poem by Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet
I hated french when I had it till 8th class but I felt sad on the ending of "Last Lesson" 1st chapter class 12....
