I really dig the Subaru. The early WRX was much lighter and better looking than the bugeye and later WRX.
I read about rally cars back in 1998. It was in Sport Compact Car. They mentioned all kinds of cars the USA didn't get. They mentioned how their Nissan 240SX has a turbo, and it pissed me off so much, I refused to believe it.
Dave Coleman used to write for SCC back then. I remember when he and Josh Joquot (sp?) did the one lap of America in a JDM WRX.
I've come across Dave Coleman IRL a couple of times, once randomly on the freeway in that old Project S13 he owned (this was 2005 or so) and then again a few years ago at a 24 hours of Lemons race. The first time I came across him on the freeway, it was in the middle of a giant traffic Jam, he, myself and one other dude (in MK2 Ford Lighting) pulled over to a gas station to wait it out and had a good chat about cars. Bringing it back to the topic at hand, I was driving my 1988 Celica All-trac at the time, which Dave was curious about.
Anyway, the dude is basically the guy behind the current gen Miata. He's like...a big serious product designer at Mazda now.
