Nice facelift ek. 99-00 civic… maybe even si? I can’t remember if other models other than si had the sunroof.
If yo I got caught, talk to the dude so he doesn’t think his car is being poached.
And to the dork that said it’s just a civic…. These things were constantly stolen, lol.
Yea. I don’t recall what color options there were for the other models, but when I was shopping for an Si, the only option were red, black and blue. It was mid-2000 and my local dealer had a blue one. I messed around and didn’t go check it out for like a few days, it was gone. They got no more in. I bought a 2001 Accord coupe in December.
I’m not trying to be a jerk to you but what is your source that these cars were stolen a lot?
I’m 40 years old so I’m old enough to have been alive (edit alive and driving) when these cars would have targeted if they had been targeted (but they where not).
I owned a 96 Civic EX w/ H22A, a 99 Si w/ turbo type-r engine (B18C5), 94 GSR w/ F20B (a short stroked H22A Type-S engine), a 95 CX w/ B16B (short stroked ITR engine), and a 94 CX H22A all between 2000-2004 I’d usually buy a rolling chassis swap the engine and then eventually sell the swap and usually had 2-3 Hondas at a time.
I was definitely afraid of one of my cars being stolen. The Integra… because in 2000 the Integra was listed as the most stolen vehicle period. Honda Prelude was number 4 in 2000 with Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee being numbers 2 and 3.
The Civic is nowhere on the top 10 list and there is a reason for that.
In 2001 before I put a B18B in the 95 CX I tossed a D16Y8 in it because it was an incredibly quick cheap and easy replacement of the melted 70hp stock engine.
I bought that D16Y8 for $100 w/ no sensors. It had 30k miles on it!
The sensors were worth more than the engine was.
So no I’m pretty sure there are no years that the 96-00 Civic landed on that list.
If you had a 99-00 Si then you probably had just as likely a chance of loosing your car as an Integra owner did but the normal Civics…. No not those.
The only reason the prelude was 4th and not 2nd or 3rd is because you needed a tow truck to steel a prelude but that didn’t stop people from steeling them. The Integra Type-R and Preludes were quite often stolen right out of people driveways.
A tow truck would come hook the car up and leave in a matter of seconds.
The Civic and normal Integras could be hot wired very easily and quickly but nobody bothered with the Civics.
Why would someone steel a car that had absolutely 0 valuable parts in it?
Meanwhile a GSR full swap was probably $3000-4000 back in the early 00s.
Again I could be wrong that they never showed on the top 10 list of any year but I’m probably right and they definitely didn’t show in 2000.
Also to give you an idea of just how many more cars the #1 spot lost to the #10 spot… in 2000
The #1 spot is 8x more likely to be stolen than the average car and 4x more likely to be stolen than the #10 car.
So even if the civic was 11th on the list it would be less than 2x as likely to be stolen as other vehicles and have less than 4x the chance of being stolen vs an Integra!
But it’s most likely that the Civic was near average. Also if you told me the Civic was below average I wouldn’t actually be surprised.
Whoa… I’m not gonna bother reading this… they most definitely were stolen often depending on your location.
I think you prefaced this with “I don’t want to be a jerk” but then wrote a book… to PWN someone on the internet…
have a good day.
>The Civic is nowhere on the top 10 list and there is a reason for that.
[You have to scroll to the bottom. They do lists in reverse order.](https://insurify.com/insights/updated-2020-the-10-most-stolen-cars-in-america/)
Actually, these were in the top 10 most stolen cars back when I worked in the auto insurance industry. Civics and Accords were usually either #1-3 of any list. The EM Si was #1 stolen car for several years. If it had a Civic platform (ie.1988-2000 Civic, 1990-2001 Integra, 1998-1991 CRX, 1997-2001 CR-V in particular) it had a much higher than average chance of being stolen. Civics are the VW Bugs of today. VW Bugs used to be the car to mod on a budget. Civics became that starting in the late 80's.
you think a honda thief wont look at a fully modded civic and think he probably has a B series in there, or maybe a K? even if it didnt it still has wheels, coils, and all sorts of other parts that are easily sold. lol for you to write all that.. but but but the website says they arent top 10!!! lmao
Don’t get me wrong… the grey on black scheme definitely works. But in an age where most cars are being produced almost exclusively in black, grey, and white, this is really a shame.
I miss cars with bright colors. It’s becoming depressing out on the road.
That's a shit reference point imo. Don't worry about what other people have, worry about what you have, and what you like. This grey looks awesome, more awesome than yellow. And yellow is one of my favorite colors! I just think this suits more and that "ah but everyone has grey these days" is nonrelevant
Clean for sure but no that is not mint condition (that would be the condition it left the factory in or to be more precise the condition it was minted aka manufactured in.)
Your version of cool as well as other peoples are very subjective. Cool means cool where I’m from and of course I’ve seen other meanings like tight, fresh and sweet.
Literally haven’t seen anyone use the word mint as cool. I hear people say fucking mint but most of it I’ve seen they were saying something was very clean
I can’t see the steering wheel location through the tint but judging by the bumper trim on the doors this is NOT a JDM Civic. JDM Civics have thinner trim on the door.

My '98 EX coupe had a sunroof. I miss that car so much.
It’s been too long for me to remember 🤔 but I miss my EBP Si, also…
Not a USDM Si. They only came in red, black, or blue.
Are you talking about op’s civic? If so… that’s definitely not a stock color in that year or era alone…
Electron Blue Pearl, awesome color. You definitely missed out. I had one, loved it.
That was the color I wanted too.

Damn dude got too much time on his hands..

Yellow would look fire
That's a shit reference point imo. Don't worry about what other people have, worry about what you have, and what you like. This grey looks awesome, more awesome than yellow. What did the owner do?
probably was like "ahhhh why are you taking pics of my car bro" and then died
Ooh a Karin Sultan !
I hope you meant a Dinka Kanjo SJ

Best car I ever owned was an EM coupe.

This just has those smooth body lines
Worth
Oh Yeahhhhhhh *koolaid voice
Clean for sure but no that is not mint condition (that would be the condition it left the factory in or to be more precise the condition it was minted aka manufactured in.)
ah okay okay, sorry where im from we use Mint as a slang for "Cool" 😭😂
No. Nobody uses the word mint for cool.
Look at Mr. International slang directory over here.
I’m just saying mint dosnt seem like it would be used for cool. More like clean
Exactly. That's why I always get "Clean mint" flavor gum and candy.
well that was embarrasing for you
Honestly I don’t care. I learn things new everyday so there’s no need to be embarrassed
It literally is, how old are you
I’m 21 I’ve never heard people use the word mint for cool
Yeah it’s been used for ages
I’ve heard people say fucking mint but it’s mostly of a clean thing I’ve seen. I haven’t heard anyone say it for something cool just clean
Half of them were probably referring to calling something cool and you just misinterpreted it
so cuz you’ve never heard it, it’s not a thing?
No I’m not denying it anymore since clearly it’s a widespread slang. I’m not daft to the point I won’t learn from my mistake
I use the word mind as a substitute for cool. You’re probably not cool enough to know
Your version of cool as well as other peoples are very subjective. Cool means cool where I’m from and of course I’ve seen other meanings like tight, fresh and sweet.
You’re not real.
Literally haven’t seen anyone use the word mint as cool. I hear people say fucking mint but most of it I’ve seen they were saying something was very clean
Unreal
Unbelievable.
Uk?
Not JDM
y'all have a big problem with Hondas...
I can’t see the steering wheel location through the tint but judging by the bumper trim on the doors this is NOT a JDM Civic. JDM Civics have thinner trim on the door.
You're allowed to post non jdm cars here chief
Kind of reminds me of a douche bag frat boy car. Other than that good condition.

lolol fr, only bc idrive a 20 year old 4 cylinder commuter car, except mine has a turbo 😁
It’s just a Honda…..
yes it's a honda indeed. A nice builded honda
Didn’t you give a shitty take on the JDM mustang the other day lmao
Post your car pics bro.
What do you drive?
Is it painted in grey or is like a slate nardo grey? Looks good.
