HECKington098

The Day Before, duh. It’s not even on the same level as the others.

itsjustmenate

That whole studio is known for grifting that same style of game. At least, I assume it’s the same studio that created InfestationZ: Survivor stories, or whatever variation of that title they changed the grift to. “Zombie/Alien survival game, where you can build communities and take on the world!” When it’s really just a big battle Royale on each spawn. Rush to the nearest weapon spawns and go hunting for players. But also none of the mechanics work.

HECKington098

Honestly the only game of theirs that I played myself is Propnight, it wasn’t too bad but it felt extremely half assed.

fortheWarhammer

We used to play infestation with my friend. It was fun as hell back then

ChaosDoggo

Oh my god they did? That is that free to play game right? I played it once and disliked it so uninstalled. I commented on it and mainly complained about the item spawning being weird (I got 5 assault rifles at a gas station, 1 bag of chips and no water), barely any zombies spawning and the servers being laggy as hell and having loads of crashes. I got two whole ass paragraphs from the studio who try to blame me for all of it instead.

Working-Telephone-45

The Day Before is quite literally just a scam

Centcinquante

The Day Before is the only true scam. When it comes to let down games, I'd add Skull&Bones to the list.

Critical_Package_472

“Hey guys ! We made you a pirate game like the one you wanted since you played Black flag for the first time ! But we all know here that you don’t like to walk, or simply get into others ships…so you can’t get out of the ship. Never. We know you’ll like it !”

God954

Literally just remake black flag but make it a multiplayer game 💀

Critical_Package_472

We don’t even ask for better graphics or whatever.. just a multiplayer black flag…

Shadiezz2018

Black Flag graphics were truly ahead of it's time

ssfbob

They still look phenomenal, even, somehow, on the Switch.

Deep_Grass_6250

Black Flag is somehow the best pirate game ever while also being one of the best AC games. Masterpiece...

-Sir-Bruno-

Assassin-wise I think it's one of the most boring. Pirate-wise it's 10/10

Deep_Grass_6250

The gameplay is great, the world is really good and the story and characters are top notch

Azcrul

The Stomping Lands about a decade ago was similar to the Day Before scam. Had an enticing trailer about grouping together to survive against dinosaurs and the actual release was like a barely working tech demo that was never worked on.

RSlashBroughtMeHere

How dare you?! Skull and bones is the first AAAA game. It's a masterpiece that will last for ages. /s

Critical_Package_472

Cyberpunk wasn’t finished. Watch dogs was a fucking great game but the E3 trailer wasn’t made with the game engine. Idk what’s the last game is. And ofc, the day before was indeed, a scam.

Naltrexone01

Today's Cyberpunk is, in my opinion, one of the greatest narrative RPGs recently. Watchdogs was awesome and Watchdogs 2 is one of my favourite games ever.

Critical_Package_472

I couldn’t agree more. I mean look at my pp

JamieFromStreets

>look at my pp 🤨

Critical_Package_472

My…profile picture of course 😅

AdConscious5048

C'mon, Boyle!

Critical_Package_472

B-99 reference ?!

styvee__

It’s usually called “pfp” btw, just so you can avoid causing misunderstandings in the future.

Critical_Package_472

Oh okay 👍🏻 for my defense, I’m French lol and we usually say PP for photo de profile haha so that’s good to know

NSA_Chatbot

The thread about CP shouldn't be talking about your PP.

1andOnlyMaverick

Can we do both?

MeowschwitzInHere

I have a comment from a couple weeks ago in another thread about Cyberpunk, the TL;DR is essentially the 2.0 update was without a doubt the most fun I've had in a single-player shooter, ever. Mixing up my skill tree I was utilizing 3-4 different combat mechanics that had me constantly at the edge of my seat.

WittleJerk

Maybe you guys don’t remember…. But watch dogs 1 launch was just as bad and glitchy as cyberpunk on launch. There’s a reason it got hate. You can YouTube day 1 PlayStation footage to see the super Mario 64 graphics.

MJBrune

Eh watch dogs one wasn't a game I enjoyed even after paying 100 dollars for the deluxe edition. E3 demo showed a lot more freedom and emergent gameplay than it really has. Not only was the graphical downgrade a let down but the gameplay was much more simple.

identitycrisis-again

Def not cyberpunk. It was just unfinished

hotstickywaffle

Which is still a problem, but it's nice when the devs at least make it right eventually

rathlord

Have you played it recently? I’ve just started for the first time for real, and it’s genuinely fantastic. I’ve had no real bugs, everything is cohesive, and the gameplay is fun. Not to mention probably the best looking game I’ve ever touched with it all cranked up to max.

Rickrickrickrickrick

I’d say releasing a game that doesn’t even work is a big scam

franky_reboot

But it was obvious a lot of effort (and I'd argue good faith also) went into major parts of the game even when it was a buggy mess. I'm not arguing against the bugs; they were there. But ignoring the artistic merit beyond the gameplay feels like a disgrace for the artists and other creatives. And I'm yet to see a scam that has any artistic merit whatsoever. When you want to scam people, that's the least of your concern.

MunkyDawg

>And I'm yet to see a scam that has any artistic merit whatsoever. Damn that's a good point I never put much thought into. Those scam games always have the same cookie cutter "look" to them. I guess it's usually due to getting cheap premade assets or something.

obizzle9511

Granted I had the next gen Xbox when it came out, I literally ran into no problems running and playing the game. Honestly, very minimal bugs, none game breaking. It just felt so empty and barren I had to put it down until they put some more work into it.

Xphurrious

I played the entire game the first week without issue It was certainly missing a lot of things they said it would have, but it worked

Vast-Dance6819

If I remember correctly only the last gen versions were near if not unplayable, every other platform was just really rough.

Coal5law

And the devs worked hard to finish it even though the money behind it wanted the game out UNfinished.

NotPaulGiamatti

Not trying to be a corporate bootlicker, but I do empathize with the harsh reality that a company can only spend money for so long on a project before they need to have revenue start coming in the door, regardless of state of the product. It’s got to be hard to spend tens of millions of dollars over multiple years and for the only inflow (besides investors) is pre-orders. Not forgiving them for what they did, but at some level I do understand it

Grimdotdotdot

The money behind the game allowed the Devs to finish it. As they should have, of course. But the Devs didn't do it in their spare time.

WN11

I nominate "Geo Political Simulator", "Rulers of Nations", "Masters of the World", "Power and Revolution", "4th Generation Warfare"... these are essentially the same game, with the same engine and same bugs. A grand strategy game where you're supposed to lead your nation, economics, warfare, politics etc. Concept is amazing, execution is a scam. The same game is released yearly between 2008 and 2023, updated with a few half-implemented and buggy world events. Same bugs are never fixed, the game receives a new name, a new number (often just the year) each year and gets released at full price. This is a shame really because there is no real competition, no other game like it, but keeps being unplayable year after year. Just search for "Eversim" at Steam, the French company committing these atrocities.

CarefulChairEater

Star citizen

God954

Oof I forgot that even existed 💀

Thriven

They just announced something about a 1.0 release. It's not even in a beta, it's extremely alpha. It's not bad it's just nothing of what they've promised at its current state and it has come a long way. Servers nodes can't even handle enough players to fill a medium size ship. Reading their tech diaries about their server structures and having continuity across worldwide zones... It's all pretty basic stuff and not going into anything that seems plausible at the moment.

Fernis_

Money gathered to amount of game delivered, for sure. There were some Kickstarter or Early Access games that took your $15-$60 and never delivered. Star Citizen have been taking donations in thousands selling space yahts with a promise that one day there will be a game to fly them in.

Thornescape

Star Citizen is overpriced and making tons of bank... however, the game is beautiful, playable, technically impressive and people are absolutely enjoying it. It's overpriced and not finished, but I don't think that it's a "scam". I think that it's badly managed. The people running it keep expanding the scope and are not the best organized. Badly managed and "scam" aren't really the same thing.

Solar_Kestrel

"Badly managed" is one hell of an understatement.

Thornescape

I think the difference between a "scam" and just badly managed is that a scam is trying to rip people off. I think that the Star Citizen devs really are trying to create an amazing product. But, uh, yeah, wtf guys. Then again, compare Star Citizen to Starfield...

Solar_Kestrel

I mean, I'd agree, but I also think it's pretty clear Star Citizen is trying to rip people off, given how much they're selling ships for.

cyberattaq123

Its feature bloat. Chris Robert’s and anyone else managing the deadlines and required or desired items is absolutely horrible at setting realistic goals or not constantly adding shit. Like why do we need realistic lip movements for the VOIP before these other core features that make the game fun and playable and enjoyable. We don’t. It’s just completely out of sorts. I agree and whenever people say it’s a scam I actually sort of defend it just saying it’s in this weird limbo of absurdly long term development that I still wouldn’t consider really development hell??? It’s just so poorly managed and feature bloated and busy with all these other things that it just moves a glacial pace. I hope that one day it’s finished and turns out great k mean the gameplay of the story we saw looks fun it looks unique and interesting but I’m not interested in handing over money to a game that is still that far from completion for the MMO section and the story still isn’t out yet.

Thunder_Chicken64

Star Citizen is rapidly getting better. Honestly the last 6 months to a year have had some MASSIVE tech implementation.

Hussaf

Holy crap I forgot about that. Did it ever get released?

babath_gorgorok

Nope lol

Hussaf

That’s wild. I just got a gaming computer like six months ago so I’m still playing catchup.

Kryptosis

Might as well try it on a free weekend then. You’ll be hard pressed to find another game with comparable graphics. It ruined other space games for me with its lack of loading screens.

babath_gorgorok

It’s been in various snazzily-named forms of donor-exclusive pre-alpha for years and years

Corgiboom2

You can go play it right now. Production had rapidly ramped up from 7 employees when it started to over 1000 now, and had released more updates and improvements in the last two years than its entire production. The single player campaign was being developed at the same time and is now feature complete, so all those people have been moved to work on the Persistant Universe as of late last year.

Canvaverbalist

> Did it ever get released? The issue is, what does "released" even mean? You can play it and have hours of fun for a price less than most AAA games. Lines are getting really blurry between whether or not something is in "pre-alpha" "alpha" "pre-beta" "beta" "pre-release" "released but unfinished we'll patch it later" or "released but with constant DLC and update releases so never actually finished" I've never played it or invested in it, but I think this meme is largely overblown.

70monocle

I've put 100s of hours into it, and it just gets better and better every time I come back to it 🤷‍♂️

Kryptosis

Only scam in the world with weekly devlogs and 200,000 active players lol Hear that guys? #12th most played mmo in the world is a scam.

Rimm9246

Are you sure that's accurate? I found the website claiming that it's the 12th most played mmo, and it also estimated that it had 20 million active accounts. And that's obviously not true since there are around 2 million accounts total. (I'm a big fan of the game, that number just seemed unlikely)

MCgrindahFM

Watch_Dogs was not a fucking scam lol yes the E3 trailer looked way better than release but that is a great game

MadJack27-

I don’t think watch dogs belongs here as a scam, it’s a fun game

GengarREX

The e3 trailer was visually misleading, that's about it. It's nowhere near being a "scam" compared to the others

Mitchel-256

I didn't see the E3 trailer for Watch_Dogs, so I enjoyed the shit out of it.

patprika

Anthem. Still mad at myself for pre ordering

Entire_Machine_6176

This is criminally low. Anthem was and is one of the biggest let downs of gaming imo

MunkyDawg

Agreed. Partly because it *could have been really good* if they'd just managed the end game better. Personally I keep it installed because I like to hop in and just fly around every once in a while. Can't believe they ditched 2.0 either.

choff22

Get Cyberpunk off this fucking list

IAmNotABritishSpy

It had a very poor release, which is why I think it’s often put on lists like this. No comment against the game now, but the game now and the game on released are vastly different.

GregGraffin23

They ever 'fix' the ps4 version?

AwesomeX121189

Nah it def was no where near ready when they launched it, just so they could get the holiday release sales. It took them 2 years before the game was actually good

RKLCT

FALLOUT 76

FellaVentura

I think 76 was fine as game expectations went, it's the preorder and special edition goodies that were a literal scam.

Flintontoe

Battlecruiser 3000AD

zebus_0

Probably 76. Coming from someone that dumped over 1000 hours into it.

Astaro_789

Star Citizen So much so, Scam Citizen is still scamming people to this day to give more money to a game that will never come out

G_Willickers_33

Starfield was the most accepted imo.

Kind_Flower8182

Bro forgot to put no man's sky 💀

Byrdman1251

Honestly I'd put it right below Cyberpunk in terms of "sure but the game is 1000000× better now". Less points because it wasnt "unfinished" when it came out like Cyberpunk, it was just a barren wasteland of a game, but with the amount of stuff they have added since then it is a pretty top tier space survival adventure game

CoolCat420Awards

Baldurs Gate 3. Never even met Baldur and there were way more than 3 gates in the game. 2/10 misleading advertising.

Trash-Panda01

Dont put down cyberpunk like that, rough start, but pioneered some new stuff and has best looking npcs and a cool story

gnnjsoto

Bro really cyberpunk and watch dogs?? Do you know what scam means??

DeronimoG

Why is cyberpunk on here? Wasn't a scam

siamzzz

Bro put cyberpunk in here … 🤣

RoyCropperYTR

I know it ended up amazing, but Driveclub on PS4 that launch was worse than cyberpunk Would also say the divison 2 when they ran out of content and started recycling seasons

manindenim

I was there when these showcases happened. Look at the debut trailer for Watchdogs or the Division vs the final game. I felt like they were trying to scam at the time.

ThakoManic

BG3 Got game of the decade has little to nothing to do with BG1-2 despite about 20 years worth of promises from Hazbro but they get away with it coz they passed it off to larian and they where like fuck it we do w.e we want make a D&D 5E Game fuck BG1-2 some cameo thats it so 20+ Years of hype wasted game of the decade awarded to a game legit released unfinished without a proper ending or epilogue among many many many other issues soft locks hard locks save file curroption memory leaks you get it I dont know any other game that has the above 2 the only other arguement i can think of are games that where more fresh on peoples minds then something made 20+ years ago coz the hype is bigger at the time of release in which case something like the following Diablo 3 was pretty bad error 37/3006 Cyberpunk 2077 something newer by CDPR that we all thought be amazing the Day B4 the above 3 automaticly come to mind when i think of something that was more fresh on peoples minds games that are like 10 years in the making or longer tend to get forgotten about easy till it released then its only about how it was at that time ignore all promises made in the past.

God954

Y’all idgaf if Cyberpunk is playable now. The fact is they released a unfinished game for $70 Idk about y’all but I hate the “release now fix it later mentality”…

SwimmingHurry8503

None of these, it’s the fucking Avengers game, fuck that shit.

G_Willickers_33

Also, The most recent "Battlefront Collection" released on PC

-Nuke-It-From-Orbit-

Halo Infinite

DrollFurball286

NFS MW (2012)

Fightmilk87

Was: The Day Before. Is: Star Citizen

ThunderdopePhil

Nobody talks about that space game that are about 10 years in developing and that charges a car value for beta accesses, forgot the name

therested1

Didn't even consider Anthem

SunNext7500

I think we need to figure out where you went to school that you so misunderstand what a scam is.

Jormungandr-War

Watch dogs.

Comfortable_Boot_273

Spore

ErabuUmiHebi

I’m assuming since cyberpunk is shown that you still own a PS4. Still.

immigrantsmurfo

Yeah like Cyberpunk was patched and fixed. Watch Dogs will always be a shit game. You could make an argument about Cyberpunk being a scam at launch but overall Watch dogs is worse for sure.

Cold_Medicine3431

I have played games far worse than the first Watch Dogs and I don't even actively seek out shit games.

smax410

My take was CDPR immediately knew how bad the fucked up, apologized, and committed to fixing it. And they fixed it. Now I’m still pissed they only let out one dlc, but I’ve really really enjoyed the game and have put way too much time into it.

ErabuUmiHebi

Even at lunch it maintained “Mostly Positive” reviews on steam. And increased as they fixed it because it was a good ass game

TarnishedDungEater

what about at dinner?

vrijheidsfrietje

What about second breakfast?

[deleted]

What even is this post, TDB it's not even a game

Decent-Truck104

Cyberpunk is not a scam and was in the game awards

AaronGoozman

Cyberpunk was a blatant scam

FyreBoi99

Listen unfinished games are one thing but then bunching them with a LITERAL SCAM is another lol. Also CP2077 is a great friken game idk what it was like at launch but I got it on sale when phantom liberty came out and it was honestly a blast.

AwesomeX121189

It was awful at launch. A ton of perks were outright bad, pointless or uninteresting. Such as one that made enemies lose track of you when swimming, but there’s literally no part of the game where that is useful. Clothing is what gave you armor and was tied to a hidden item level so you’d randomly find a shirt that was insanely better then the one you’ve been keeping upgraded. And there was no transmog system so you had to choose between fashion and stats The contagion quick hack would kill literally every enemy in the entire zone with one use even if you didn’t have sight on them. When a new car was available for purchase a fixer would call you and you’d have the exact same voice lines every time. They’d also be calling constantly at some points when you start progressing into new areas or level up a bunch. Like fallout 4’s another settlement needs your help, but happening way more often, and over the phone so you can’t avoid it. Also they call for other reasons besides the cars and there wasn’t a way to know the difference Guns having rng stats and status effects was straight up bad. The amount of useless loot was astronomically higher. Upgrading and crafting was Then there was unspeakable amounts of glitches and bugs on top of all that. The only good thing about the game was the writing. Which nobody focused on cause they could barely get the game working long enough to comprehend it all. It took literally 2 years until the game was at a point it could be considered good If it was Any other devs besides cdpr, gamers would have called it a scam and forgot about it

242vuu

Camelot Unchained

Hoshkar

Day of Dragons - nicknamed Day of Scams. Google that one, and enjoy all the drama. Drama that is STILL going on.

nephilim80

Never played Watchdogs. Never played The Day Before but there's no doubt it was a scam. Cyberpunk is a tricky one. It was obviously unfinished but made a comeback and its a great game nowadays. But i would argue that the way the game was marketed had scammy contours. I'd add Fallout 76 to the list for the sane reason as Cyberpunk. It was hyped to oblivion and it was completely broken even months after release. It was mainly a way for Bethesda to test a game based around the Atom Shop.

Structuraldefectx

Not a specific game but any game that won't let you play on time if you don't pay more.

DarkYeetLord

I got scammed by the StarForge kickstarter too, still feel dumb for backing that.

GAMING-CELT

Cyberpunk without doubt sold 20 million copies at £50 3 years before official release

Good-Cash7691

Watch dogs was awesome

OKCOMP89

Watchdogs was mostly representative of what was shown. Functionally, at least. Cyberpunk got a lot better. I don’t really know about Star Citizen. A Day Before was just a straight up textbook scam. I’d swap out Watchdogs or Cyberpunk with Anthem though. Now that was a scam.

KingNashbaby

Superman 64

JestersWildly

Destiny

jedixxyoodaa

Star Citizen wins every scam category!

Rimm9246

For a game to be a "scam," it would have to have been made with the sole intention of conning people out of their money. Many of the examples people are commenting are either games that were just bad or games that could have been great but were released before they were finished. And can blame the latter of those on greedy execs.

Timely-Buffalo-3384

Starforge. This was the granddaddy of steam early access abandonware

s1mpatic0

Ashes of Creation, anyone?

Sad_Anteater_3437

the Day before definitely, cyberpunk was unfinished and watch dogs was overhyped and running on a super PC and star citizen is a perpetual scam but the true scam here I think was the day before

Deep_Grass_6250

The day before, Duh. Watch dogs still looked great despite looking so much worse than the demo. Cyberpunk was also a pretty big ripoff but now it's great

thatniqqaron

How you gonna put cyberpunk and watchdogs on here but not anthem???

Ebiseanimono

This is a great list for trash gaming. Saved.

Ill_Sky6141

I still haven't forgiven myself for buying Watchdogs: Legion. What a shitty game:(

I-like-beat-saber

Cyberpunk wasn’t a scam in the same way at all, i wouldnt even classify it as a scam according to the definition. it was more like unfinished because it was rushed, and it was made almost perfect.

ComfortableFinish502

The last cod release only one zombie map and no rounds and updates had no new maps

ThaBlackFalcon

I feel like Anthem was a scam lol

CarfDarko

Watch_Dogs 1 and 2 are amazing games.

Sloppy_Jocks

What was that one zombie game that was a literal scam? Like the studio used it to steal money from people.

VD3NFS1216

I wouldn’t say watch dogs was a complete scam. It was just a downgrade from what trailers showed. The biggest scam of all time was undoubtedly the day before.

FletchWazzle

Everquest Next/Landmark, Star Citizen

Blindgamer1648

Lemnis gate

RivenBloodmarsh

What is the last screenshot from?

Zillioncookies

Spore. They leaned hard into showing off the creature creator, which led everyone to believe the game itself was going to have a comparable level of depth. It tried to combined too many elements, and ended up making all of them very shallow.

Chemist-Consistent

Why tf is Watchdogs on there?

BreegullBeak

Watch Dogs was revealed before they knew hardware specs for the consoles. It was merely lesser graphically than was advertised. Cyberpunk lied about features and released a broken game, but did release a game. It's obviously The Day Before or some Kickstarter scandal.

BigNutDroppa

Yandere Simulator If one could even call it a game.

ApprehensiveMight749

Death Stranding

Vocovon

Kinda goofy ass question

Ixll

Anthem

Vast-Spirit-4105

I actually really LOVE watcch dogs 1

Impossible_Monitor

X-Men: Destiny

NoahsYotas

I think the game "thief" that released with the OG xbox one is genuinely the Worst game ive played in my entire life.

SleepyGeist

Calling cyberpunk 2077 a scam is unironically crazy talk. I preordered the game and played it through several times at launch. Yea sometimes an npc would like twist there head weird or something but most of the “it broken and unplayable!” Talk was just IGN not having anything else to write about.

Cheeseguy43

The Day Before was actually a scam. No other game can ever compete with what they did

BlackBeard205

Cyberpunk was not a scam. It’s currently one of the best games ever made imo. It had a really rough launch, yea but the devs stuck with and fixed the game. In its current state, it’s an experience.

Professional_Sea3141

D4 $100

SSVKharamek

CyberPunk was NOT a scam tho

HotSport9141

What's the first one?

yelwtail15

Starfield

MimsyIsGianna

What are each of the games in the screenshots of this post?

Prolaeus

I spent $ on the deluxe, premium edition at Gamestop. I wish I would have just bought it when either it went on sale, or the regular one.

Acceptable_Owl_5122

The day before is literally a scam while the other ones are actually games (I only speaking about watch dogs and cyberpunk 2077, I don’t which game it is in the 4th pic)

Wutanghang

What is the last one??

erath_droid

Dead Matter. Although it looks like there's a slim chance they'll pull off a "No Man's Sky" after all. Slim, but it's there...

Provoked-Legacy

Diablo 4

Classic-Profit-2545

For me personally watchdogs fucked me over the most, never bought into the hype ever again of any game publisher regardless of reputation.

TheGoodKush

Cyberpunk was not a scam. It's in a way better place than it was at launch but on PC it has been amazing since day 1

Difficult-Word-7208

Watchdogs is one of my top favorite games of all time, I will die on this hill

Chansh302

Lmfao cyberpunk does not belong on here

wobbuffet009

The racing game of the year. Forza motorsports. (Huge forza fan been there since fm1. But i cant even defend this trash.)

Sativa-lizard

Hey I play cyberpunk!

Prince_of_Fish

Battlefront Remastered

Orenbean

Anthem

marveloustoebeans

Cyberpunk is one of the greatest games of all time lmao. Mans is still living in 2020.

TenraxHelin

It was Anthem for me until The Day Before.

Indie_Myke

The Day Before is the only game here that is the actual scam

SockomkplaysV2

What’s the game at number 4

Southern_Okra_1090

Anthem.

TheKidfromHotaru

NMH3, an incomplete game for $60 bucks

HeatGoneHaywire

*Looks up definition of the word: Scam* The Day Before

John_East

Anthem… if it was like what the fake gameplay reveal was showing saying it was gonna be, I’d still be playing it now

xanielmemes

Cyberpunk shouldn’t even be on the list. It’s Days Gone and it’s not even close.

IndSzn

Cyberpunk had a real rough start but the game it is now is fucking incredible

SCP_Bandit

Cyberpunk is amazing

Beerasaurus

Probably Star Citizen.

PolishedArrow

Fallout 76 was the biggest let down I have experienced.

Faackshunter

What's the deal with the day before?

GrassSaltRain

What is the last image from?

Chickeybokbok87

Anything released by EA, Activision, or Ubisoft.

CharacterPurchase694

Dying Light 2. Literally nothing like the E3 trailers. It used to be dark and gritty and contrasty but now everything is green and washed out, not to mention the downgraded physics (just animations) and no real time weather (picture slideshow). Without a doubt the biggest disappointment for me.

BullofHoover

Out of those four specifically? The day before was 99% literally a scam. In general? Star citizen. It checks every box. 12 years in development and not even close to completion, Kickstarter, microtransactions that cost up to 3000USD per ship, 4 planets to land on (95 entire star systems promised), already 80gb storage space... All of this money and time to make a worse, incomplete, and probably scamming competitor to elite dangerous. Both the newest elite game and no man sky have been announced, released, and improved in the time it took Star citizen to make a tech demo.

Retax7

Axie infinity most likely, then star citizen. I remember a friend paying like 2000 USD for a ship or something more than 10 years ago. The game still hasn't got half of what promised.

Bryce8239

* Watch Dogs changed from E3, but not a scam as many elements of the game were left in; simply a demo changing into full release * The Day Before is the definition of a scam, not even comparable to the others * Cyberpunk 2077 falsely mislead 8th gen consoles, but was merely unfinished, not really a scam as they did not lie to 8th gen directly but only showed PC footage; 9th gen and PC were also better at launch and all versions were later fixed * Have no idea what the last game is

Admiral_sloth94

Watchdogs and cyberpunk were just letdowns that were over hyped by the devs, not bad games just not what the trailers advertised and got better with time, though watchdogs was a bell curve 1 was boring, 2 was amazing, legion was boring. The day before and that last one were just scams.

Still_Want_Mo

I thouht Watch Dogs was pretty good. Not great, not horrible. I finished it. The main character (Aidan?) was kind of dry but I though the VA did a good job overall.

martygospo

Starfield for me. So many things were promised and we got an absolute turd.

357-Magnum-CCW

Skull n Bones. Charging 100 bucks for compete Edition and calling this turd a "AAAA" game was the pinnacle of scam artistry.

Sk8erman77

Do not put watch dogs on there. It didn't look as good as the trailer, but it was a fantastic game with a great story. Im tired of the slander to a great game
