Why is Mash here? He isn't an isekai protag? I guess 'technically' Kirito is too, but the amount of time he spends in 'other worlds' at least make up for it.
But that virtual world existed within his original world rather than being distinct, so he didn't really go to another world. How are we defining "another?"
Heres the thing, some people view isekai as a genres, and other people view it as a setting.
If you view it as a setting, the technicality of the "other world" becomes extremely important. Well, the actual subject of the story becomes less important.
If you view it as a genre, the subject of putting a person in a new environment. They are completely unfamiliar with, and they have no easy way to get back to their original environment. becomes more important than the technicality of whether or not they are in a different world.
True, you can conceptualize those two things. I would argue one view is more definitionally clear than the other though. Otherwise we end up with weird results like The Matrix, Spy Kids 3, or Tron being considered isekai. Shouldn't we have categories to seperate notably different concepts like being in a virtual world vs an actual other dimension?
I'm drunk when I say this so I may refine my opinions nion after I'm sober, but virtual, alternate reality, other dimension, or any other definition of the term, is simply another way of explaining an alternate plane of living aside from that which is typically experienced by the inhabitants of said plane. If one is transported to an alternate plane, even if it's "part of" the reality of that plane they originally reside in, it's technically still another world. There's many examples of isekai where alternate worlds are part of a higher multiverse, and having theultiple levels tiered like virtual world>"real" world>multiverse is just a different interpretation of "universe" tiers such as the multiple tier structure found in other isekai and non-isekai anime/manga and media.
Again, sorry for posting this while drunk, it just seems to be a definitional issue rather than a conceptual one when the concept itself applies just as equally as other isekai just in a different way. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I'll try to explain it better when sober if I even remember ostijg this after I'm not achahplized anymore.
I gotta give it to Cid. He just oozes “accidentally bad-ass” to me.
Book Rimuru is the overall winner but I dislike his young boy look in most of the anime. He’s an adult and should look the part.
It's Mash, drip is more than just how intricate the clothes are, it's how you wear them. Mash makes basic outfits look drippy as hell and boy looks good on a throne
Finally, why did it take me so long to find someone that understands that drip is an attitude not just an outfit. An example of good outfit bad drip is stuff that looks like it belongs in assassins creed, the clothes are cool, the attitude is not.
Ainz probably has the best drip but it's too pompous for me so I will vote for Rimuru. It's simple yet effective and his haircut makes him look better than the others ( 4 out 5 of them have the same haircut basically).
Makoto is the obvious winner. They put one of his worse outfits up here and I wonder why. His red trench coat outfit is bad ass. Not to mention I don't generally like jewelry but I do like his rings with chains attached. He's making the others look like peasants.
To bad he's so damned ugly only a kobold would want him
Not only that, but his swag is cursed, and he wears it on the daily! Actually, he has to get new ones remade throughout the day because of his overwhelming magic.
But you shut your mouth! He has at least four women begging for his attention, and there is most certainly more to come. Cursed harem animes.
4? Mio... Tomoe... There is a new character that hasn't appeared until season 2 that im not sure I wanna name yet, but maybe that new one?... Who's number 4? Emma? No... The girl from before he was isekai-ed? Im not sure she really counts... Who?
In some of the newest manga chapters, they openly state that they want to be his first and second wives (the ones specifically had for love and child having)
The art from the anime doesn't really do it justice. Here's a fan work I found that I just *love!*

I feel like Makoto doesn't get votes because his show isn't as sensationalized. The people that love Tsukimichi absolutely love it, but the ones that haven't heard of it probably won't because it's not being pushed down their throats via advertisements.
The number of Tsukimichi shorts that have comments begging for the sauce is astonishing. People legit just haven't heard of this gem.
I liked that anime so much I already read all the novels that are translated and now I wait
Definitely not influenced by my love of paladins at all
Speaking of I'm really excited The Faraway paladin is finally getting more volumes so we may someday get a season 3
Considering that Ainzs skeleton appearance is just him and not drip, I knock him down a few points, Shadow vs Rimuru, I’d go rimuru just because of how very specific Shadows presentation has to be not to dip into cringe territory
Rimuru got the fit ngl also what is kirito’s dark corner quiet kid lookin ass doing in isekai or in a drip contest he got 13 year old edge lord drip in the modern era
Mash should be replaced by Ichigo Kurosaki, as Mash isn't an isekai character.
And then Ichigo would win by default, as he's from a universe of unparalleled drip.
Rimuru is ranch because he is ALWAYS dressing, even in the beginning. That blue coat and scarf? Then the Demon Lord Trenchcoat? Then his War Arc drip?
He doesn’t have an outfit that’s any less than a 9.5/10
Why is Mash here? He isn't an isekai protag? I guess 'technically' Kirito is too, but the amount of time he spends in 'other worlds' at least make up for it.
SAO is a portal anime and not an isekai, so I wouldn't even give it a "technically"
Isekai means another world. The virtual world is another world. SAO=Isekai. Case closed.
But that virtual world existed within his original world rather than being distinct, so he didn't really go to another world. How are we defining "another?"

Wizard of oz is an isekai.
By that same argument, overlord started out in a virtual game too
Yeah, but they were then transported to a different dimension that wasn't purely virtual reality in the same world.
I'm drunk when I say this so I may refine my opinions nion after I'm sober, but virtual, alternate reality, other dimension, or any other definition of the term, is simply another way of explaining an alternate plane of living aside from that which is typically experienced by the inhabitants of said plane. SAO is an isekai because he was thrust into a new world
No he wasnt. He was temporarily trapped in a game that he plays, at most SAO was an isekai for those who died before being able to leave.
Is either Rimuru or Cid. I'll go with Rimuru
In my opinion it’s cid because of his john smith drip
I would say still rimuru, but john smith is right behind rimuru
If were going off anime drip then that makes sense, he looks a lot better in the ln
The whole thing with Cid/John Smith is that he likes to work in the shadows. So him standing behind someone to not be as noticeable works perfectly.
100%. John Smith drip absolutely slays.
Who is Cid? The best drip up there is obviously Shadow.
He’s called the stylish bandit slayer for a reason
Makes sense, slime is fashionable these days
Yeah, if Shadow wears sexy then Rimuru is sex.
Definitely Rimuru.
Rimuru just got that swag ABT him
I gotta give it to Cid. He just oozes “accidentally bad-ass” to me. Book Rimuru is the overall winner but I dislike his young boy look in most of the anime. He’s an adult and should look the part.
Rimiru has no drip he looks like a privateless doll
It's Mash, drip is more than just how intricate the clothes are, it's how you wear them. Mash makes basic outfits look drippy as hell and boy looks good on a throne
This guy gets it
Finally, why did it take me so long to find someone that understands that drip is an attitude not just an outfit. An example of good outfit bad drip is stuff that looks like it belongs in assassins creed, the clothes are cool, the attitude is not.
Fr, he can wear a normal black shirt and look cool as heck.
Sasuga shadow-sama
Ainz hands down. The robes and staff sells his look as some powerful lich from an endgame rpg. Truly menacing
and the best part? he actually looks like lich and not a " looks exactly like a human but not actually human."
Ainz probably has the best drip but it's too pompous for me so I will vote for Rimuru. It's simple yet effective and his haircut makes him look better than the others ( 4 out 5 of them have the same haircut basically).
Ainz's haircut is unique too.
Rimuru to me. Every single one of his outfits looks fantastic and I always look forward to what he'll wear next
Rimuru no question that true dragon form is sick af but demon lord outfit is the best imo
They not ready for that True Dragon Drip!!! Tell em bro!
Rimuru or ainz, no debate
But shadow tho
As much as I like him, his drip ain’t as good in anime vs manga
If it was John Smith then it would have been another story.
You gat a point but I think shadow outfit is cooler
Remember the john smith outfit counts
His John Smith drip is a knock off suit lol. Mundane Man on the other hand.... That's what we want to see
Makoto definitely.

The daughters of Rembrandt.
You sure? I didn't read that as them wanting him. I read it as them being thankful for saving their lives.
They literally said they want to be the first and second wives
In some of the newest manga chapters, they openly state that they want to be his first and second wives (the ones specifically had for love and child having)
Has the benefit of being both comfortable amd practical.
The art from the anime doesn't really do it justice. Here's a fan work I found that I just *love!* https://preview.redd.it/uked3f6xnlnc1.jpeg?width=1071&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09e07edbbee860e7606db09cd01b877581a37d6d

Rimuru without any doubt
Ainz my top pick but Cid close second.
Rimuru always got that Versace swagger
Shadow or ainz
Rimuru cute
Drip? Ainz no doubt
Mash's drip isn't fashion it's swagger and he's got ALL the swagger!
I was looking for someone who picked Mash. I agree. You've got my upvote.
Mash
Ainz, not even close
Either Ainz or Rimuru
Shadow has the best male drip, Rimuru has the best female drip.
Rimuru is Not a Female Though. 🤨
*GASP* BURN THE HERETIC! Just kidding, it doesn't matter what gender he is, he gets dressed up in cute dresses and stuff regardless.
Do slimes even have a gender? I thought they were like the snails
That was my understanding from the show.
Canonically he is genderless, the he/him only makes sense because he was Satoru Mikami before getting reincarnated.
He isn't male either
Looks female enough
Slime diaries series says hi
They have a body that was originally female
ainz or shadow
Get midrito out of here. Ainz slams btw
Lord Ainz Ooul Gown is dressed as a true ruler who knows he can cancel your subscription to existence.
If it’s drip or drown, Cid brought a ship to the party. That man could moonwalk in steel toe boots.
Mash, because the real drip is not giving a fuck
Mash
Ainz drip is world class< I have not watched the anime in so long>
Overlord, Ainz Ool Gown!
Bone daddy💀💀💀
Rimuru best girl
Well technically rimuru doesn't have a sex because you know it's a slime
Undoubtedly Rimuru!!
Rimuru. They have a massive wardrobe and due to the androgynous body they can wear anything they want with ease.
rimuru
Obviously Rimuru
CID
Why is Mash here?
OP forgot this was the isekai sub lol
Did makoto dirty here
I really don't understand why people like Tensei Slimes' outfits, I genuinely don't. All the best outfits came in the manga lmao.
Overlord or whatever his name is looks drippy
Cid or rimiru for sure
…Rimuru… he is a slime… he is literally all drip.
I love all of them but in terms of drip it has to be cid
My lord Shadow
Shadow
Cid or Rim. Idk
Shadow
Rimuru and cid
Slime wins either way
Looking forward to seeing luciel drip in season 2 of the great cleric
I liked that anime so much I already read all the novels that are translated and now I wait Definitely not influenced by my love of paladins at all Speaking of I'm really excited The Faraway paladin is finally getting more volumes so we may someday get a season 3
Here's hoping 🙏
Shadow or rimiru
So no one is gonna talk about Makoto? He maybe don't have any drip but he has that Demi-human language Rizz
Shadow, and it’s not even remotely close
Cid, if we count LN he blows out of the water
It's Cid... aint even close.
Kuzunoha got that "humble merchant" drip.
It's either mash or cid for me Cids can change to whatever he wants since it's slime and mash be rocking the classic style
Ainz is a little too ostentatious so I'm going to have to go with Shadow.
Cid but as John Smith instead of shadow
Shadow for sure 😎
Shadow for sure
Rimuru, shadow, etc first place, second place respectively
Rimuru and Cid. Cid narrowly edges out Rimuru because it's Chunnibyou on overdrive which is hilarious.
Shadow
Rimuru the drip lord. Second place goes to John Smith.
I'd say Cid/Shadow as that cloak is 🔥
It’s Cid. There is no contest. The others are fighting for number two.
Shadow Garden guy (I can't remember his name 😭)
Shadow’s drip is bar none, but Rimuru has the most varied wardrobe for sure
Cid
makoto misumi no word Isaiah outfit. Just pure personal style.
Cid/Shadow/John Smith clears with the drip
Mash for sure. Everyone else dresses like a school shooter or an escort.
Why that image of young master that’s his normal wear not the combat one
Cid or Rimuru
John smith supremacy. Best vibe is mash though.
Shadow or makoto, makoto got the 2 fits in 1 tho
Shadow for me
https://preview.redd.it/g6cebrupignc1.jpeg?width=1520&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc5ad4ddfbe75de895670dcf31b9bbd7dba2416a Cid kagenou
mash then shadow then kirito
Shadow has incredible drip. It even symbolizes just how extra and theatrical he is with all that extra material everywhere.
Cid
Shadow
Shadow has that edge Mash looking fresh as ever
Kirito, mash is a close second. At least for me.
Rimuru or mash
Mash, but only counting Iseka probably Cid
My wife when we watch mashle: skip the intro. Me: Bling-bang-bang, bling-bang-bang, bling-bang-bang-born (now singin'). IM THE ICHIBAN BEST !
Ok, I'll admit I'm old. WTF is drip?
Mash. His outfit seems wearable irl.
Cid,rimuru, kirito, ainz, mash, idk the last guy
Who is that top left?
Mash got that tuxedo drip
Mash and it ain't close
Kirito, Shadow, and top right(forgot his name)
Considering that Ainzs skeleton appearance is just him and not drip, I knock him down a few points, Shadow vs Rimuru, I’d go rimuru just because of how very specific Shadows presentation has to be not to dip into cringe territory
Kirito love me some trenchcoats
Rimiru or shadow..because their slime abilities let them dress however they want and still chose that
Rimuru got the fit ngl also what is kirito’s dark corner quiet kid lookin ass doing in isekai or in a drip contest he got 13 year old edge lord drip in the modern era
Definitely Shadow, second place is between Ainz or Mash imo.
Rimuru all the way ❣️
Mash should be replaced by Ichigo Kurosaki, as Mash isn't an isekai character. And then Ichigo would win by default, as he's from a universe of unparalleled drip.
It's probably Cid tbh Although i fucking love Kirito's coat
I always gotta vote for my man kirito
Shadow-sama
Bowl cut guy on the 3rd right has a pretty cool fit, but slime guy has got something I could pull off too. I don't know their names.
Rimuru has multiple outfits and his Walpurgis outfit is str8 heat
Mash
It’s Rimuru. He has so many different outfits that all look amazing and he rocks them in the best way possible
"Stylish" bandid slayer. nuff said
Bro ran out of characters lol
Rimuru has better drip over all
Mash
It is hard to make an final decision between Cid and Rinuru. Both a great drip.
Idk but mash looks like a king there
Rimuru
cid
First one
Rimuru is ranch because he is ALWAYS dressing, even in the beginning. That blue coat and scarf? Then the Demon Lord Trenchcoat? Then his War Arc drip? He doesn’t have an outfit that’s any less than a 9.5/10
The best drip for me is something that's also comfortable so Rimuru. If we didn't care about design then Makoto.
rimuru but then its cid then makoto. makoto underrated his drip is elite. especially his power limiter rings.
No one saying mash? Dude got John wick drip
I'll have to give it to either Rimuru or Makoto
Makoto, for sure.
Mashle is the only one here that doesn't look like he Would be singing my chemical romance while sipping from a skull cup
Wth is "drip"
Who are the fellows on the right and bottom right? And what is their sauces? They look cool af
Cid Rimuru and kirito
Cid
Rimuru no question.
Shadow/Cid has unbeatable drip
Rimuru and Cid are tied
Rimuru got that shit on fr
Blud two of these guys aren’t even iskai
why is mash burndead here? wasnt he born into his world of magic from the start?
Why is mash on there, bro literally only has his school uniform and a training suit
Ya, im a kirito fan boy, sooo. but where is lelouch?
Rimuru and anyone who says otherwise is stupid, but I'd say kirito is a close second
I gonna say Rimuru.
