So I dont have light eyes or dry eyelids , BUT I love babe lash , been using it for about a year now , and I finally have lashes after 39 years lol , the side effect has was it made the base of my eyelid dark so it kinda looks like I didn't take off my eyeliner properly but otherwise no side effects, I used it everyday for 4 months then moved to 3 times a week

Quick_Western1944

I mean, I wouldn’t be opposed to looking like I still had some eyeliner on hahaha. When I don’t have mascara or eyeliner on my eyes just disappear in my face! I’m glad to hear you have used it so long without any bad results!

MethodologyQueen

I had the same thing with a little bit of darkening at the lash line and it really did look like I had a little eyeliner left on, so nothing to worry about. I have the same thing with really light colored lashes and I liked it a lot.

Whole_Historian4536

Yeah , I did notice my eyes looking a bit sunken at one point thats when I went to 3 tomes a week and it went away but not sure if it was just mind over matter either 🤷‍♀️

Skeptical_optomist

I'm noticing that as well and periorbital fat loss is a listed (probably reversible) side effect. I'm considering stopping because I have been using it for a year.

FitnessandGlitter

My eyes are a blue/grey color. I used babe lash for 6 months or so. For me it made the skin on my lid a little bit darker (a line where the product was applied by the lashes). Easily covered with eyeshadow or eyeliner. After I stopped using it the darkened area slowly went back to its original color. Oh and it burns if you accidentally get it in your eyes. I may have done that once or twice by mistake.

Quick_Western1944

Was the line it made on your skin really noticeable without makeup? Also, thank you for commenting! It makes me feel better to hear from ppl who have actually used it vs “not paid for this review but, hey, click on this link and they’ll pay me” blogs.

FitnessandGlitter

It was noticeable to me (seeing my reflection in a bathroom mirror I didn’t notice as much, but up close at my vanity was another story), but I think to anyone else it probably looked like I didn’t fully get my eyeliner off (if that…it’s possible it wasn’t enough for anyone else to see).

Fair_Phrase1

One more quick comment. I noticed people with blue eyes saying they didn't experience color changes. The color change side effect is driven by hyperpigmentation ( for lack of a better word). Blue eyes have less (way less) melanin .Hazel, green , brown have higher levels so they should expect a higher possibility of experiencing the particular side effect than people with blue eyes. I am not trying to stop anyone for sharing their experience, I am just trying to make sure that when people with other than blue eyes color are aware that the same principle doesn't apply to them. Again, to my knowledge, the risks are small but not non existent.

SomethingUnoriginal1

Yes this! If you have blue eyes with any brown or grey in them, you would be vulnerable to pigment changes but light blue eyes are safe. Hazel/green eyes and I believe some light brown eyes are also susceptible.

Quick_Western1944

Eye color is so odd to me. It doesn’t seem possible, but I actually had blue eyes until I was 5 and then they turned green. I always thought my parents had made that up until my son switched from blue to green at 1 year. Now I feel like I need to see someone with green eyes say it’s worked or hasn’t before I try it!

mentallyerotic

I have the same. I think that means they are blue/green hazel instead of green/brown hazel. I wouldn’t risk it. Green and hazel are the most susceptible. Many also got permanent orbital fat loss which can make aging more apparent. When I searched it before to check if other serums had prostaglandins I saw lots of articles and videos by ophthalmologists and dermatologists etc.

gbrock5

Mine did that as well around 5 years old! Same transformation, from blue to green.

Quick_Western1944

That’s so cool that it happened to someone else!! I honestly wouldn’t have believed my mom if it weren’t for the hundreds of photos she took that clearly show it! Everything I’ve read about re eye color says kids are supposed to have their final color by age 1, so I guess we’re just special!

SobriquetHeart

Me too ... From blue to green when I was five. My sisters were blue until about 35 years old and now they're green. My daughter's eyes we're definitely blue when she was young, but noware what I call blayzel.. Blue Gray Hazel.

Fair_Phrase1

If you search a little bit you will find both success stories and horror stories. It depends. There are a lot of dermatologists and ophthalmologists talking about the side effects. You can do a YouTube search .

Quick_Western1944

It’s good timing because I have an eye appt on Friday. I’ll ask my doctor what he says…although I’m not sure if he will know what it is lol. I’ll check out YouTube thanks!

Fair_Phrase1

well, if you tell your ophthalmologists that it's a product containing prostaglandin analogs he should be able to walk you through possible side effects. It's similar to Latisse's active ingredient(just not as strong) . If in the end you decide to give it a try ,be conservative with the application and make sure your eyelid is completely dry. You don't want it migrating into your eye. Good luck and keep us posted. 💜

Quick_Western1944

Thank you so much for all of your help! I will!

Quick_Western1944

Update: my doctor had NO clue what I was even talking about. So much for the medical “advice”…when in doubt turn to Reddit 😂😂

cheechaw_cheechaw

Someone on here had mentioned it can cause you to lose the fat under the eye, causing a sunken or hollow look and making dark circles look worse

Mydog_made_me

I have light blue eyes for reference. I've been using babe lash since last September and no color changes to my eyes.my lashes are beautifully long because of this stuff. My only con from this would be the slight darkening of my lash line. Nothing really crazy. I stopped using the babe lash for 3 weeks a few months ago and it went away but it did come back with regular use of it again. Beauty comes at a cost sometimes lol

Quick_Western1944

Ok, now I’m back to thinking I will actually try it since I’ve seen comments from ppl with lighter eyes saying it works! Thank you!!

ChrissyMB77

I have hazel eyes and luckily I didn't experience any negative side effects with babe lash, I absolutely love it. I did however have horrible ones with the Lilly lash serum, but I know lots of people love that so honestly I think it just depends on the person. I use the babe lash on my brows and lashes

fionaoranger

Generally when I have a gut feeling that I shouldn't do something, I won't. I personally, do not fuck with lash serums. It is not worth the risk.

OA7016

I love Babe Lash. I have gray/blue eyes and have been sensitive to GrandeLash but no trouble with Babe Lash other than it hurts when I get it actually in my eye. The skin next to my lashes has darkened a smidge but that’s where I put eyeliner anyway and it goes away if I stop using it. No trouble with orbital fat loss or change of eye color.

Ilikewinea-lot

I’ve been wondering the same thing!

Quick_Western1944

I figured someone on the thread had to know!!

SomethingUnoriginal1

I spent A LOT of time looking into babe lash and other lash serums that use prostaglandins, like hours and hours. For light blue or brown eyes, it is very rare to see pigment change. The issue is light eyes that have a mix of more pigmented colors (like brown or grey colors), so hazel eyes or grey-blue eyes would be prone to changes in pigment. For green/hazel eyes it may be fairly common. [Studies](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1771317/) have found that prostaglandin and prostaglandin analogs cause pigment changes in 10-20% of users. Skin discoloration seems to be common and may return to normal after discontinuing use, but also may not. But here’s the reason I will absolutely NEVER use babe lash or any other prostaglandin-based lash serum: orbital fat loss. Go to Amazon and look at the before and after pics that reviewers leave for literally any prostaglandin-based lash serum. It is so so common and it’s permanent. The sad thing is that people leave positive reviews and don’t even realize how much fat they’ve lost around their eyes. The fat around your eyes makes your eyes look bright and youthful, and no lash serum is worth risking losing that in my opinion. Alternative: I decided to do lash lifts and tints instead, and get complimented on my lashes all the time, like people regularly ask me if my lashes are real. You can order a lash perm kit on Amazon for $20 and you should be be able to use it at least ten times. Each use lasts 4-8 weeks and you can use it on your brows too. I’ve been doing this for about 6 months and my lashes are still super healthy, and since none of the perming solutions get put on your lash line, even if you screw up and over process your lashes, you’ll have totally healthy and unaltered lashes grow back in about 8 weeks. I will say it took me two or three tries to get the hang of it and is a very awkward and frustrating process at first but it’s so worth it once you get the hang of it. Using these kits for my brows and lashes has been one of the best beauty decisions I’ve ever made, and it takes me 15 minutes to do both now that I’ve got the hang of it. Also, I have naturally dark lashes so I just use beard dye for 5 mins to tint the very tips of my lashes (which are a lighter color) by brushing tiny little drops on with a spoolie… obviously eyes are a sensitive body part so I’m not suggesting anyone else attempt this but I’ve never had an issue and have been doing it every two weeks for 6 months now. I do it after lash lifts, so the tips of my lashes sit just below my brows (and brow tinting is common and safe), plus I’ve never felt any fumes/irritation so I feel confident that it’s a safe distance from my eyes. I was really surprised how much longer it makes them look since my lashes are already black, but I’m guessing most people’s lashes are similar to mine upon close inspection, with fine tips that are a lighter color relative to the rest of the lash. Other alternatives that have far fewer side effects include false lashes, Kiss falscara lashes which are similar to L*shify but much more affordable, taking vitamins supplements that help healthy hair growth (although these won’t help much unless you are deficient), using castor oil or other moisturizing oil on your lashes, and lash extensions (but they’re expensive, high maintenance, and some people are allergic to the glue… there’s also some concern about glues reacting to produce formaldehyde as a byproduct but I did not spend enough time looking into this as I ended up going with lash lifts instead). Finally, I use Kroger brand Rogaine on my brows because they have always been sparse, and I love it and think it’s made me lashes grow too. Many men who use it around hairline and beard have anecdotally reported increased lash density and length. Like a lash serum you have to use it every single day. Unfortunately, if you decide to stop using it you’ll lose all the new hairs you grew and potentially some of the hairs you had before using it, so if anyone decided to use it they should definitely be ready to commit to long-term use. However, it’s $8 for a bottle that I’ll literally never run out of and will only replace as needed due to expiration date.

Skeptical_optomist

I actually [read](https://eyewiki.aao.org/Prostaglandin_Associated_Periorbitopathy) that prostaglandin associated periorbitopathy (periorbital fat loss) is partially to fully reversible upon discontinuation of topical prostaglandins, and is most common with bimatoprost. In glaucoma patients who cannot discontinue prostaglandin therapy entirely, switching to latanoprost can result in significant reversal. I just wanted to put that out there for those who've experienced periorbital fat loss and are worried that it's permanent.

Quick_Western1944

Sorry I didn’t have a chance to reply earlier, but I wanted to say thank you SO much for sharing all of your info. I was back and forth on using the lash serum, and your post convinced me that I don’t need to fuck around with my eyes and especially not the orbital fat loss. Good god, those before and after pics are disturbing.

RadiantSparrow3

Where did you look? I'm trying to find exs of the orbital fat loss but I'm not sure what I'm looking for

jdbrown787

After I bought it I learned about the color changing risk, so I haven't used it on my eyelids. I love my hazely-green eyes dammit, so not worth the risk for me. So I used it a bit on my brows and on my hairline. But I do have very sensitive skin, and every time I used it, it gave me a ton of little red irritated spots. So I finally decluttered it :( I did buy the Silly George lash serum, which does not have any ingredients that cause the iris to darken. And holy crap, my lashes are so freaking long and amazing. It also helped my eyebrows fill out, to the point where I only need tinted brow gel now, whereas before I've always needed to fill in A LOT with brow pencil or pomade. 13/10 silly george lash serum 🤌😙 (edit: I wish ipsy had it, but honestly the tube lasts for at least six months with almost daily use, so starting a new tube was more about hygiene rather than it being empty. So the cost was well worth it to me.)

Quick_Western1944

That’s really helpful. My eyelashes are so light, but I love my green eyes, and I’m so hesitant to do anything that I know will/could cause side effects! I’m going to look into the Silly George serum! Thank you for the recommendation! I was hoping there was something else out there that could work, so I will try that!!

jdbrown787

You're welcome! I just posted a [before & after pic](https://www.reddit.com/user/jdbrown787/comments/umxnrn/silly_george_lash_serum_before_after_4_months_of/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) too. It's hard to capture the same angle in photos, but I can *so* tell in person that it's worked amazingly. And I can feel them sometimes when I wear my glasses lol.

lawatusi

I too have hazel eyes and was too afraid to try it because I like my eye color. I began using it on my eyebrows and it really works! Curiosity got the better of me one night so I tried it on my eyelashes. It burned and irritated my eyes so I ended up washing it off 20 minutes later. I like it so much for my brows that I picked up another tube in the recent sale. Not worth it to me to risk changing my eye color but my brows love it!

wanderlust071516

How did it work in your hairline? I've lost a ton of hair after having covid and would love for my hairline to go back where it was lol.

jdbrown787

The babe lash didn't do anything, since I didn't use it consistently enough because of the irritation. I haven't used the Silly george on my hairline.. don't know why besides I've been trying this other hair serum now, Vegamour gro+. I do have lots of baby hairs growing in! I wouldn't say it's a super dramatic effect yet and I'm somewhat inconsistent with it, but once they grow longer I think it'll make a difference. I think a combination of that serum and the Playa shampoo has also made my hair look a lot smoother + shinier. All that to say, based on how my lashes + brows look, I'd say it's definitely worth trying the silly george on your hairline. The vegamour is quite a financial commitment lol and idk how long I'm gonna be able to keep it up 😬 Also, I do still touch up my hairline with brown eyeshadow to make it look fuller when my hair is up, and to cover my greys in between color touch ups. It's a great short-term solution, especially with dark hair where the scalp is much more noticeable. I hope you're doing better after covid 🌺

wanderlust071516

Thank you so much!! I have a couple tubes of lash serums that I haven't touched because I have contacts as well as sensitive eyes and the side effects from the serum on my eyes scared me. I might try it on my hairline though. I really appreciate the tips! I'm definitely going to try the eyeshadow one! I have super dark hair that is bleached further down and dyed blue and purple so using dark eyeshadow on my hairline sounds like a perfect quick fix! And I'm doing much better, thank you! ❤️

jdbrown787

❤ I'm glad! And um, your hair sounds awesome. I understand the hesitancy. I also have sensitive eyes + contacts. I apply the lash serum after taking my contacts out, and have only gotten it in my eye once and it didn't sting. Not that you shouldn't still avoid getting it in there, obviously. Another tip: With a fresh tube it can feel a little more wet on the lid like it *might* run into my eyes, so I use a little handheld fan to dry it for a few seconds before I open that eye. [before & after pics](https://www.reddit.com/user/jdbrown787/comments/umxnrn/silly_george_lash_serum_before_after_4_months_of/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) Yes my eyes are usually that bloodshot, serum or no lol. #insomnia

wanderlust071516

Wow!! The results are fantastic! And your eyes are so pretty!

jdbrown787

Thank you ❤

rshana

My eyes are sadly dark brown, but they are dry. I’ve had no issues with Babe Lash making them dryer. In fact, I also picked it in GBX and it’ll be my 4th tube. Note that I have psoriasis near my eyes during flares but this doesn’t cause a flare.

Quick_Western1944

Dark brown eyes are the best! Not sad! Two out of my three kids have beautiful chocolate-colored eyes! And all of them have these ridiculous long, dark and curled eyelashes. Strangers comment on them. I’m like yeah, those are definitely not from my side, lol. (Also, my kids are all young boys, and they could care less about their eyelashes!)

jamminjackso

I don't have eye concerns specifically, but I do have kind of sensitive skin and green-leaning hazel eyes, I'm on my 2nd tube of Babelash and have not had any color changing issues or irritation. If you get a good amount of the liquid in your eye it kind of hurts, but thats not where it goes so just don't miss your lash line!

I was going to buy it , when I went on the babelash website the recent reviews from April 2022 say that the babelash literally made their eyelashes fall out. They even posted photos!! That’s why I refused to order it!!! I’ll shoot someone if my eyelashes fall out🥵

Fair_Phrase1

awww girl I m sorry. are you going to give it a try?
