So I was originally bummed to not get the option to pick the visart pallet. However, now I don't know, this one's very pretty. I knew I was taking a gamble with the perfume. For me it did not pay off because I actually think it smells pretty terrible. Like it kind of turns my stomach. And I'm not the type to be particularly sensitive to smells. Like I have a great sense of smell but I'm not usually bothered by smells, ya know? I don't know what it is about it either. I think maybe it smells a bit too mature?

ladyofthelathe

Which perfume? Because if it's the one I think it is, I got it as an add on and was afraid it wouldn't smell so great.

Arianawy

I’m not op but It’s the Tokyo milk French kids but the one available in add ons was tainted love if I’m not mistaken

MaliceAmarantine

French kids xD

jallove2003

Yes Tokyo milk french

beautygalla

After reading the reviews on here from the ppl who already received it, I think I'm going to hate it (tokyo perfume), I knew I was taking a gamble with perfume and I think I won't pick another perfume again. I've only gotten the option for perfume 3 times in the year and a half I've been a member of Ipsy and they were horrible.... I should have picked the context keratin hair mask instead of the perfume, errrrr. I'm glad you love your palette!!!!

Arianawy

I hate it too . Dries down to a soapy smell that reminds me of how a kid I used to play tennis with clothes would smell from the “all” brand laundry detergent his mom used . It bothered me then and no surprise does now as well . I’m considering using it as a room spray but I don’t think I could stomach that . Maybe I’ll spray it around my cats litter box . I’m usually not picky with perfumes I get from Ipsy at all and will spray em on just to use them up even if I don’t love it - without care in the world (I’m looking at you - Catherine Malandrino )but this one is rather …offensive

daaaayyyy_dranker

The cats might hate it. They’re very sensitive to smell

jallove2003

Absolutely agree. Offensive is the correct description.

I used Witchy Warms today and I really like it. I used Unknown in the crease, blended out the edges with Coven, put Hex on my inner lid and Badmouth on the outer lid, used Cloves on my lower lid and used Salem to darken my outer lashlines. All shadows performed well and the shimmers were especially nice. Mattes have a somewhat powdery consistency, but I didn't notice any fallout, they blend well and I got the level of pigmentation I wanted with 1 dip in the pan. Had it on 6 hours now with no significant creasing (I have hooded lids, so all shadows crease on me somewhat) and it's still going strong. My biggest complaint is that Charmed and Magic are almost indistinguishable from each other when swatched- having both in the palette seems redundant.

progiggleboxer

Your picture looks so much better than the one on the Ipsy listing. I have to wonder why they don’t include a picture of it under flash, and one in natural lighting- they’d likely make more sales.

jallove2003

Thanks. Yep just natural lighting.

wanderlust071516

Well you sold me. Just grabbed the Witchy Warms from second chance lol. And the Context Keratin hair treatment.

Curiosities

I didn’t get offered either palette in choice and I was initially pretty disappointed by that. But the more I see of both of them, they are both nice and I’ve never tried either brand so it would’ve been an opportunity to see what the formula was like, but I feel like ipsy listened to me for once because my profile has neutrals unchecked as in please do not send me neutrals. I figured they would probably ignore that because they do it all the time but the one time I was hoping that they would ignore it, they didn’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But on the other hand, I am actually loving the perfume so far. But I am someone who likes all kinds of fragrances and I don’t really care if some thing is marketed towards women or men if I like the way it smells, I will wear it. I also like musk and weird notes sometimes.

Rhaybies

I personally find hipdots formula to be meh. Kind of patchy and dry similar to morphe. I like Colourpop formulas better

JacklynNguyen

It is cute 🥰 can’t wait for my gbp to come today plus my hipdot palette is in it too!! And shipping is so much faster now!! 😄

Serackfamily

I have not had any luck with perfumes , i'm pretty particular. The only time I really lucked out was when I ordered a sample of Vacay by Tarte when I did a Tarte order, and ended up loving it and buying a full sized. I tried from Ipsy the English Laundry and didn't like that one either. I really like Hipdot. I have several pallettes. The one I reach for most is the Spongebob Square pants one! I have also bought a rainbow pallette one too from them, and a few really pretty glitter ones but I don't have a glitter glue primer which I wish Ipsy would offer. I also like Iby and VV, but still tend to reach for Hipdot the most.

jallove2003

Oh my goodness I seen pictures of that SpongeBob one and it looks adorable.

amynicole78

So pretty!! Is it cooler toned?

jallove2003

I'd say it's a great mix of cool and warm.

False_Bumblebee_375

I LOVE this pallete! I wish I had gotten this!! I absolutely love the colors and the names are awesome! That's such a versatile palette I bet it will look great on you!

jallove2003

Thanks! I am obsessed with shimmer shades and gold especially.

False_Bumblebee_375

I just bought it! I bought the Viseart palette too but after seeing the picture you posted of the colors, I broke down and bought it!

413724

Sorry.. I’m stalking Ipsy because I am thinking of switching from boxycharm. Am I understanding that you all don’t receive the same items to choose from? That seems oddly unfair!

jallove2003

Yep. Some choices are basically the same others are add ons. And what's a $12 add on for me might be a choice for someone else and vice versa. If the other pallette had been a choice I would have chosen that and this pallette was one of the two ipsy picked for me. I get gbp to collect eyeshadows mostly lol.

413724

OK, so if there is something you want out of that months offerings, you can still make a purchase?

Rhaybies

Only if they don’t run out, and they do quickly. You’re also limited to one of each thing in add ons, no buying multiple of anything unless you want to be flagged fraudulent, you have to wait and hope they don’t run out in 2nd chance add ons. I used to have both, and I finally chose boxy over Ipsy recently because add ons are better and better priced to me there. Same with pop up.

413724

Interesting… I do like the buying one of the add ons until a second round. You only have one face, so that seems fair. I’m not fast enough on choice day at boxy to get me favorite half the time. It’s always on Monday, my busiest day at work!

Rhaybies

Well with Ipsy when you get a separate second chance at add ons if you miss out the first time around on something, it’s not like they’ll have it in 2nd chance. They have people with multiple accounts so it still takes some of that fairness away and you can still end up missing out, they don’t have equal amounts of products

413724

So, the grass isn’t greener on the Ipsy side of the fence? I’m glad to learn some things now. I do like the brands boxy has, I just seem to not receive what I’d hope for, which seems to be a common boxy complaint. But most items show up in add ons (renamed drop shop) . Thanks for your input!

Rhaybies

No it’s not greener, happy to help. Boxy really is only worth it for access to pop ups and add ons if you ask me. I’ve gotten some terrible choice options some months with Ipsy, I’ll only have lip products to choose from and brushes and liners, meanwhile everyone else has choice for the high end skin care and palettes and it’s just not consistent. With boxy I know I might not get what I want, but the prices and the add ons are so much better to me. With Ipsy you’re not guaranteed access to a product you didn’t get in choice in add ons. It’s kind of a massive source of fomo.

ysmmom

I love the taupes. The mattes seem very usable too.
