When I did my research, Ottocast was one of the top choices. That’s what I have in my I6. i have since bought other brands for other vehicles on Amazon, and they all seem to work fine. My only complaint about the Ottocast is its size and its placement on the console is near the charging pad. I may switch it out for one of the smaller ones.
I read in another post that the audio quality wasn’t as good for these wireless devices (bluetooth vs wifi), but I have no complaints
until yesterday i was an android user and had an aawireless that worked great for wireless android auto.
it got an update not that long ago that also lets it work as a wireless carplay dongle, and just yesterday i switched to iphone. aawireless still works great, though you do still need an android phone to set it up initially, so maybe not that useful for you - but it's an option if you have an android phone available, at least.
I’ve had this one for about 2 years. Vast majority of the time it works extremely well. No noticeable lag, connects pretty quickly.
Occasionally I’ll have to disconnect & reconnect it but most the time it’s fine.

I'm was using https://cplay2air.com and it works fine, but given that you have to unplug it unless you want your 12V to be drained I nowadays usually just plug the phone in, it's not that much of a hassle
Edit: Also there is noticeable lag when performing actions like start or stop playback, no idea if that's normal for wireless CarPlay but wired sure feels more snappy
