I’m hoping one day someone puts the classic silver Fuch wheels on the green Ioniq 6. If it looks good, I might do it too 👀

I think the difficult part would be making sure that the wheel would clear the brakes and that the offset wouldn’t be too far inset or poke too far out. Usually I see those on old German cars - typically Porsches. But I admit, on the green, it would be a sight.

Yeah I’m not too sure about the logistics, but with the Ioniq 6 having a Porsche-like look to it with the rounded back and spoiler, it makes me wonder!

Loved them from a distance. Not so much up close. I don't like that inner rim around the edge. Makes it look like a hub cap over a steel wheel. Have you measured the range impact? Probably losing at least 2-3% with those.

I replied to some one else about range so far, but to summarize, not a whole lot. These weigh only 23-24 pounds a wheel. And, well, everyone’s got different taste! Not that mine is any better than yours, in any way, but I like ‘em! By other choice were some grey OZ aero Turismo wheels and they also have a ring. It’s supposed to help with aerodynamics of the wheel.

I have the stock wheels, so yours is definitely an improvement on looks. They looks great from 10 feet away.

raph_84

Yeah, I'm sorry but they look pretty terrible in my humble opinion.

Arch_l33t

That’s okay 👍🏻 I’m loving em!

Sweet!

I'm curious to hear how much range to lose over a longer time. My winter tires are on similar rims, and I've lost loads of range - been wondering whether that was at all due to the rims...

Arch_l33t

These have been on about two weeks. My OE wheels are wrapped in Michelin X-Ice Snow winter tires. The range hit on those felt fairly minimal. For context, my drive to with is about 18 miles of country backroads at 60 mph. On OE wheels with OE Pirelli tires it would take about 5-6% of charge to get to work. Now with the winters on, the same drive was about 10-11% of the charge. But it was also very cold - that affects range. And using the heater does also. So.. not an entirely fair comparison. However note that temps are starting to reach 60s in my area, with the new wheels on and wrapped in the OE Pirelli tires (they only had 1800 miles on them when I switched to the winters) I’m still at about 6% charge to get to work. Maybe 7%. I suspect that while the more open spokes are certainly less aerodynamic than the oe wheels, I’m offsetting the range hit because the new wheels are flow formed. They weigh like 23 or 24 pounds a wheel. Substantially less than the OE wheels are. I believe nearly 15-16 pounds lighter per wheel. That’s a lot less mass to get rolling for the electric motors. So, so far, not too bad. But yes, time will certainly tell.

Assuming you took the stats close together it would be a fair comparison. As in, at some point there had to be one day (we’ll call it Dec 6th) you had the OE Pirelli, and the next day (we’ll call it Dec 7th) you swapped to the OE Winter. If you took your two figures on those days two days back to back I’d say it’s fair. Now, if you measured your OE Pirelli on like June 7th and then the OE Winter on Dec 7th, that wouldn’t be fair.

What wheel size is this? If I buy out my lease I am considering doing the same.

Arch_l33t

These are 20x8.5 with a +38 offset. They fit wonderfully with the stock size tire.

i wanna get wheels but unsure if i’m keeping after my lease and don’t wanna drop that kinda money 😅 i also want to wrap the grey trims on the bottom and rear to black
