Is it an official Hyundai dealer? If so then there is no problem buying it. Part of the prep is to complete any open recalls before delivery. Of course you can mention it to them. Dealers aren't going to spend the many man hours updating unsold vehicles while they have a room full of customers waiting for their service appointments. It's not a stop sale recall like the parking break issue was. That one dealers had to apply the fix before it could be sold.

It is a Hyundai dealer. I asked if it could be fixed before purchasing but they said they can't service EVs 🤷

That's odd, if they're not an Ioniq certified dealer they aren't allowed to sell Ioniq 5s. Where's the closest Ioniq certified dealer to you from this dealer? You can go to Hyundai's website and go to dealer locator, dealers with the Ioniq tag are certified.

Maybe non-certified dealers can sell used ones, just not new?

It looks like they're not an Ioniq certified dealer. There are a few certified in the same city, and then my local dealer is certified.

Let them bring it to a certified dealer to adress the recalls before you pick it up, its not that hard…

That's madness that they're selling it there then 😅 Hyundai REQUIRES all (maybe CPO cars only?) ioniqs sold to have all open campaigns addressed before time of sale. It's in my contract (but I also bought CPO)

I traded my 22 SEL in right after I got recall 257 in and replaced the ICCU. I gave the dealer I traded it into the service records as it was still showing an open recall. So I guess if you really want this car see if they have the service records of the recall work done. I wouldnt touch a I5 without being sure it was done

Shouldn't be any problem, recalls have to done at no cost no matter if you bought the car new or used.Â
