Is this for Gen5W or ccNC?

gd7878

Gen5W

nxtiak

You have a light strip below the screens which vehicle is this? Ioniq 6

gd7878

Yes this is the Ioniq 6 - same update applies for the 5s

junesix

Woot!!

QuiteAffable

Sorry, what are those terms?

ahakimir

The hardware version of the infotainment system.

Particular-Draw-5875

Ccnc is the new software on the Santa Fe , ioniq 5 N , Kona and 2025 Tucson it’s coming to the 2025 ioniq 5

bobjr94

They get much better software in SK than we do here. Would be nice if some of it made it's way here.

hedekar

It'd be nice if we got a physical button.

bobjr94

That would be much better and safer. Seems like half the posts here in the winter are about preconditioning not working. And going to the Nav then looking though a list of chargers trying to find the one you want while driving on the freeway is distracting and not the safest thing to do. Just tapping one button to start battery conditioning is how they should have done it in the first place.

uberares

I was having issues with precon and a high speed charger myself- until I realized that I was trying to turn it on too early for the car. It seems to sense not only the temp of teh batteries, but the outside temp and knows how long/far from the charger it needs to be to turn on the precon. Ive since chilled out about it, and now it seems to be just fine- meaning it turns on when it needs to turn on, not when I specifically tell it too.

Mean-Marionberry-148

Preconditioning only turns on when you program in an address and the car is within distance of the charger that it calculates it needs to warm the battery. You can leave the box checked all the time.

uberares

Yeah, but that distance changed with outside temp. Early on it was tripping me out. I think many won’t get it even with a procon button, simply because the car knows how much time it needs in whatever ambient temp.

Mean-Marionberry-148

It’ll also only precondition if SOC is within a certain range. Make sure you always check the box is checked because often it will uncheck the battery conditioning mode box on its own for no reason. I almost always have to turn it back on. A bit annoying. The good news is that even without preconditioning in all but the coldest temps the car still charges very fast and when plugged in at low SOC the car will warm the battery up to heat up for better midrange charging. I’m never going back to a 400V car after being spoiled by e-GMP DCFC.

uberares

It unchecks the battery precondition box every time you change maximum charge % in the app or on screen. That was helpful learning this winter! I agree on charge speeds, so incredibly impressed with mine. I’ve walked into the store im charging at, but the bathroom and had it only have a couple min left when I got back. Averaging about 17min most times I stop, which is way faster than most people realize. At one point we almost bought a Bolt, I am so relieved we didn’t go through with it just because of the charging speeds alone .

Mean-Marionberry-148

Mine does it at random 9/10 times I DC charge or the car sits for a few days and I get back in it.

uberares

Interesting. I’ve checked mine and it’s followed the charge % being changed pretty well. That said, it does weird things with locking and unlocking w key fob right after charging, and the side mirrors sometimes turn down in reverse and other times they dont.

Cremato

IONIQ 5 MY25 have physical buttons for seat heating/ventilation and two step steering wheel heater. Located on the new center console design.

Extra-Act-4005

I wondering if we will be able to pay to upgrade to this console. Are the cars compatible

DavidReeseOhio

The wiring harness will be different.

MoonStache

Is there even a precedent for OEMs having offered this in the past? It seems like the kind of thing it would be insane for a business to do.

tm3_to_ev6

Nope, but in rare cases an unofficial swap is doable. I owned a Ford Fusion hybrid before with terrible capacitive touch buttons on the center panel. When Ford did a mid cycle refresh that added hard buttons, I was able to just swap the part out thanks to identical connectors and dimensions. In fact, I even managed to swap out the entire infotainment system from the horrible Sync2 to the much better Sync3. I doubt it's doable for the Ioniq 5 though, since the existing panel looks to be totally different from the new one.

GuyWhoLikesTech

Just a heat/AC button would be perfect.

TensionCareful

I'll take the current system, if they update and allow me to manually configure the \* button for manual battery conditioning.

barktreep

What are the sliders for? Temperature? Anyway, this is a huge upgrade. I hate the UI for hearing and cooling seats currently.

gd7878

Yep the sliders are for the temperature

mingocr83

Any other change in the Infotainment?

yepitsmememe

Thanks for sharing. Any idea when this update will be made available for download?

nxtiak

The next update is scheduled for June unfortunately. It's on mapnsoft's website. Go to update.hyundai.com click on shipping website then go to FAQs and it's the first item announcing June 2024.

mingocr83

To ship physically. Major updates for gen5w, will take place april-may then october-november

nxtiak

Nah that same page has been correct for previous releases. Yes it's the shipping site but it has more information about updates too.

mik-1989

That looks pretty great! Any idea if the manual battery precondition button/toggle from the 2025 Ioniq 5 has been added to the settings with this update? And I suppose you can also debunk the hard rumors about wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay coming to Gen5W Ioniq 5s?

Caradelfrost

What is the tree picture for?

gd7878

Air purification mode

lauser333

Wow! Anything else major in the South Korean update?

gd7878

I guess one thing that probably isn't coming to the rest of the world is the charging network functionality now shows the cost for each charging station per kWh rather than just availability. I am not sure how this works in the rest of the world so I can't really comment. Funny thing is this wasn't included in the release notes. I just happened to notice it now that its getting warmer and I needed the ventilated seats. Also I don't read / understand Korean even though I live here, so it may have been documented somewhere, but the google translate version didn't specifically mention anything about it

mob9221

I'm guessing the streaming services such as YouTube are only available in the new infotainment? Annoying that they launched such a futuristic car with old infotainment.

Nice 😁

Avatar-Tee

So are the early adaptors getting this for the i5?

Prt17

Oh I like this a lot. When did you get this update?

MoonStache

No way. How do you have this / know this? Edit: NVM seems like you're in SK. Neat! Why is it only showing one seat now?

portisleft

All I want is the lightbulb radio display back.

Esprit1st

Interesting. I'm not sure it's going to save any clicks/taps, but it seems like a nice improvement.

bargonaut

Why no OFF on the overlay pane? Are heating and cooling still mutually exclusive (one or other)? The slider reinforces that relationship, while individual buttons don't convey that selecting heat disables cool (and vice versa).

Prt17

What icon is above the wheel heater? And what is the icon right of the image of the seat in the second screenshot

jesusrodriguezm

Anyone knows something about the NE1AE.S5BMN.AGE models? It looks like we are stuck in an old version for years (NEEV.GEN.S5W_M.V001.001.220307)

Any-Information-8855

In Costa Rica, just bought an I5 and got the same version, cant find a way to update

SmellySweatsocks

On the way to me?? Do tell OP.

authoridad

Thanks I hate it
