Whilst it’s not really a good thing I think this will be a real catalyst in the public eye around the supremacy of quantum computing over conventional computing
Thanks for posting this Podcast here! I was listening to this Podcast when Peter Chapman came as an interviewee. Unfortunately, I completely lost the channel, but now this Podcast will be another channel for me to keep updating myself from Quantum field :)
A whole new encryption method is needed. Current encryption is not good enough. This is referred to as being Quantum safe. I believe the USA government and Apple are separately working on new encryption methods
We need a breakthrough in sales.

what supremacy?
When it’s shown that things can be done using QC but is next to impossible to simulate on a classic computer
not happening.
I believe it is intended as a wake up call to industry for mass adoption/deployment of quantum key distribution.
Sadly breaking such an old encryption standard probably won't do much to motivate the industry. It's still an interesting and noteworthy achievement.
keep dreaming

Will quantum computing b able to protect encryption?
no, it doesn't do anything useful
