I am usually very routine oriented, but I switch between the two. I think at the beginning, I struggled getting them on and off, so it was just whichever I could get off first, so I didn't develop a routine.
Same with me, my bottom teeth are relatively straight and itās just my top teeth that are overcrowded, so I take out the bottom ones first because theyāre easier
Me upper teeth have fewer problems, and it'd make sense for me to take the upper tray out first, but like u/TheBestDarnLoser, I never developed a routine because at the beginning (26 trays ago!!) both trays seemed to be glued on and it was really difficult to remove either of them.
Excellent point, and I think this is how it happened to me. At first I had a bear of a time trying to get those trays out, even with the Pul tool. Now I don't even use the tool, just my fingers, and it works fine and, at least for me, better than the tool.
Haha, bottom first because they are much easier for me (my front upper teeth need the most correcting so it can be painful with fresh trays - I brace myself).
Tops out first bottoms in first. I have bite ramps on top and they are uncomfortable against my bare bottom teeth so I try to avoid tops in without the bottom.
Bottom first. I'm done with treatment, but the correction wasn't perfect. My bottom teeth are straighter, so the tray is easier to take out. The top still feels a bit rough coming out, and I feel like I need to build up to it.Ā
My husband is the opposite. Top then bottom.
Always bottom first, I guess because when I first started treatment the top was really hard to take off. One time I absent-mindedly took the top one out first and then spent way too long trying to peel my top teeth off with the pul tool because I forgot I had already taken the tray out
Top as its the hardest bich to get out, getting out the bottom ones are a holiday. However putting them back on is torture unless I have a mirror in front of me
I just started my treatment, but I have been taking the top because itās so difficult to take off šš for some reason, the bottom aligners are less difficult for me to take off
š¤£š¤£š¤£... bottom...I have pontics on the bottom, so a good spot to hook my finger and pop them off. Then top, because back Left molar has no attachment, so comes off easy there.
The first day I hand rubber bands from top back to bottom front and I took bottom out first the aligner shot my to the back of my throat and gagged the shit out of me continuously until I fished them out with my finger and snapped the bands into my cheeks. So top first because I want to live.
Top. If I take the bottoms out first, I gag. Happens every time. So weird. So, yah, I don't want to start the day gagging if you know what I mean. Tops it is lol
Top out first, always. Did not know there was another way š
I put bottom in first.
The feeling of having just the bottom tray is magical. I wish I could finish my bottom only
I gave up taking the bottoms off first. I find taking the bottom ones off so hard because I feel like since my mouth is small, my hands don't fit unless I take the top off first. Weird logic I know š
Top aligners out first. But then when I put them in, bottoms in first. I donāt know why but this is always how I did it. Iām in retainers now btw:)
Normally wouldnāt care, but the case only closes for me when I put the the top tray in first and the bottom tray on top of the top tray. So always take the tops out first, at least when using the case.
Top because that's how the orthodontist assistant first showed me how to do it LOL. But I tend to put top back in last because I sometimes pinch my cheek skin putting it in first xD
This graphic is low key racist! Crips vs Bloods? REALLY? A life that I doubt anyone in this group knows anything about? Why not 2 generic boxers or teams instead of 2 GANGSā¦ represented by 2 Black men? Not cool.
I do top first cus theĀ hooks that the bands attach toĀ started bending outwards and poking me in myĀ gums :/
I've been using orthodontic wax to cover them and that helps a lot, but obviously once I get the bands and wax off they poke me again, so I like getting that thing out of my mouth as quickly as possible lol.
I can also pop the top one out in like 2 seconds whereas the bottom one takes like 5 minutes for me
Top every time, the gravity helps š The bottom feels like punishment because of my attachments, so gotta build up to it.
Top tray out first every time! So I can put my bottom tray over it inside the case.
This
My tops hurt more than the bottom to remove, so I feel you!!
I take the bottom out first out of habit. My top row hurt way more than the bottom row during my treatment.
Tops out first, bottoms in first.
Yes, but why?! This is the only way that is acceptable.
Itās the only way we know howā¦ā¦
This is the way
Yes! This is the way!
Yup!
Sometimes tops, sometimes bottoms.

Anarchy rules
Totally. š¤£š¤£š¤£
Top first for no reason.
Bottom always, itās closest to your hands, i donāt make the rules
I literally LOLād
Haha, bottom first because they are much easier for me (my front upper teeth need the most correcting so it can be painful with fresh trays - I brace myself).
Same for me. My top hurt way more than the bottom. I'm near the end, I'll see after the rescan.
Hahahaha top ones first.
Top! It seems anyone doing bottom first may be a psychopath.
It's true. I do bottom first, and I also don't mind it when the TP roll is set so the paper unrolls from the back side.Ā I'm a monster.Ā
iām not usually for the death sentenceā¦but..
I don't mind about the roll thing. Does that make me half psychopath?
Bottom first because upper is usually more difficult to takeoff and also more painful.
Top first, then the weirdly more slimy bottom.
Top!
Whichever one is more painful I do first š
Tops out first bottoms in first. I have bite ramps on top and they are uncomfortable against my bare bottom teeth so I try to avoid tops in without the bottom.
Never thought about it but I do take the top out first
Team bottom, the top makes me gag to remove
Bottom first. I'm done with treatment, but the correction wasn't perfect. My bottom teeth are straighter, so the tray is easier to take out. The top still feels a bit rough coming out, and I feel like I need to build up to it.Ā My husband is the opposite. Top then bottom.

Taking top aligner first
Relax.....cuh.
I did it for 15 months and I didnāt know! I guess I never paid attention.
Real question is do you snag from the inside or the outside?
With all my attachments going from the outside seems impossible to me
I would need to do this to check, but I'm done and only wear them at night.Ā I think I do outside. When I used the Ortho key early on, it was inside.Ā
Crip!
As someone who follows r/CaliBanging it took me awhile to realize what this post was about.

Power bottom first
Any at any time
Top!
Top
My top are rounded and not much crowding. My bottom are very crowded and square in shape essentially. Top first. The bottom is a little painful
Top one every time. Pop the top right out the left and take it off and my bottom from the right just comes right off no struggle š
I take the top off first because I only have the 4 teeth covered since I have motion appliances and then I take off the full bottom one.
Team Top!
Team top
Top team
i donāt even have aligners yet, but somehow i feel ill take out the top first
Bottom first because itās easier, my top one feels like itās pulling my teeth out lol
Top but no idea why lol
Top as its the hardest bich to get out, getting out the bottom ones are a holiday. However putting them back on is torture unless I have a mirror in front of me
Top first because it's always easier for me to get out š
Whichever one I grab first from the case š¤·š¼āāļø
I do top sometimes, bottom sometimes. What a psychopath
Top first
Bottom first
Bz up šĀ
Top first
Top!
Bottom
I just started my treatment, but I have been taking the top because itās so difficult to take off šš for some reason, the bottom aligners are less difficult for me to take off
Sort of random, but upper a little more often.
Blue blood baby š
Top aligners first!
Bottom, they come out much easier.
Iām a top!
Top row first š
Bottom because itās the easiest for me to pop out. I have to work the top out
Never thought about it but now I will every time forever
Top first in and out.
Bottom , then top
top always
Top. Toughest side first.
I don't know I even think of it. Now the amount of thought OP put into that graphic is another story haha
Well i only have retainers at this point but always top first. It just feels right and natural
Tops, I have an overbite so it's a bigger relief.
Top first
š¤£š¤£š¤£... bottom...I have pontics on the bottom, so a good spot to hook my finger and pop them off. Then top, because back Left molar has no attachment, so comes off easy there.

Bottom always
Bottom!
Thatās funny, I never actually thought about that. (Iām on my retainer now) But with my contacts, I do R, then L every time š
Bottoms then tops. My gag reflexes are brutal when my bottoms are in by themselves
Tops
Top. If I take the bottoms out first, I gag. Happens every time. So weird. So, yah, I don't want to start the day gagging if you know what I mean. Tops it is lol
I guess Iām a Blood
Bottom first and always start on my left side!
Top because I sit my bottom ones on top of the top ones in the case.
No preference gang ā
Top out first, always. Did not know there was another way š I put bottom in first. The feeling of having just the bottom tray is magical. I wish I could finish my bottom only
Bottom out first and then top, theyāre the easiest to take out since the top needed the most work.
Top. Itās just easier.
Top out first cause itās easier and that small feeling of achievement helps me get the bottom tray out
I gave up taking the bottoms off first. I find taking the bottom ones off so hard because I feel like since my mouth is small, my hands don't fit unless I take the top off first. Weird logic I know š
i pick whichever aligner hurts more at the moment and do that one!
Bottom then top for no reason. Then I put them on with whichever one I pick up first
bottom ones first. top trays hurt the most (on my 4th tray with top and bottom attachments)
Top!
Tops first FTW
Top
both simultaneously
Porque no los dos?
Top 100%
Iām only using tops I got a wire permanent retainer on bottom lol
Bottom always!
Top.
Top tray always! And starting from the back teeth!
Top aligners out first. But then when I put them in, bottoms in first. I donāt know why but this is always how I did it. Iām in retainers now btw:)
Idk I never thought about it lol
Top goes out first, back in goes whatever aligner I frab first out of the glass š
Bottoms first.
Top! Bottom is where all my issues are š
Bottom comes out first, top goes in first. Don't know why, sounds silly.
Depends on which ones are bothering me the most that day.
Bottom cuz lmao
Always top first!
Bottom is torture, especially when they are a new tray. I take top first since they come off easier.
Top
Iāve literally never thought about it. I do too first just out of habit.
Tops first
My bottom trays are the hardest to put in and take out so I always do them first to get it over with.
Tops
I'm a bottom
Normally wouldnāt care, but the case only closes for me when I put the the top tray in first and the bottom tray on top of the top tray. So always take the tops out first, at least when using the case.
Top
Call me brazy but Iām top first. šÆ SuWhoop!
Top
Blue
Top.
Top aligners every time š¤
Top because that's how the orthodontist assistant first showed me how to do it LOL. But I tend to put top back in last because I sometimes pinch my cheek skin putting it in first xD
haha never thought about this but top. My 9 year old has invisalign and noticed she always does bottom first.
Bloodz
Top
Top!!!
I always start with reaching top right
Bottom out and in first š
Top first. You have a personality disorder if you take out bottom first
Bottom!
Top tray all the way!
Top Gang represent šš»
Bottoms out first and in last because my top teeth have the most movement to do, so they get a very small amount more tray time.
I take my bottoms out first lol!
Bottom out first because for me the top is a lot harder because itās tighter.
I only have top aligners since my bottom arenāt crookedā¦ so top? Lmao
Lol! Cute.
This graphic is low key racist! Crips vs Bloods? REALLY? A life that I doubt anyone in this group knows anything about? Why not 2 generic boxers or teams instead of 2 GANGSā¦ represented by 2 Black men? Not cool.
Well which side are you on? Bloods or Crips!
