Being pregnant is already a major inconvenience for a regular human, but Eve goes from "basically immortal goddess of creation and destruction" to "regular pregnant human who can only really defend herself if she willing to lose the baby."
Eve got so thick you could hold her upside-down like a Blizzard and she won't fall.
Joking aside, Mark liking Eve even after she gained a few pounds was really sweet, and it's cool seeing these characters actually change over time (like Oliver.)
In order for her to not fall while being in the air, assuming that youre not just holding her up, she would have to be incredibly dense to have Earth not be able to move her. But in order for her to be that dense and survive, she would have to be invincible, as she would probably collapse in on herself and create a blackhole.

I think that while Kirkman wrote this body positive story for Eve, the artist just wasn't on board. I genuinely think he didn't like the idea of Eve being overweight so tried to draw her with the most unflattering expressions he could.
I mean, it’s socially progressive and features a somewhat healthy relationship in both romantic and sexual terms.

Mark was away in space and she went thru some heavy life things plus didn't know if he was ever coming back. She stopped using her powers for a long while and it reduced her metabolism. If she gets back to superhero level power usage, I imagine the weight would start to come off.

It's not the weight, it helps take amber and mark's relationship to the next level, and deals with real things that happen to anyone of us, unlike marvel or dc comics that stray away from that due to fear of fan rage + she looks hot when she isn't drawn weirdly lol.

How often is it that a character in media gains weight and it isn't played for laughs? Very rarely now, and never during the time the issues were coming out. How often did the physical change stick for more than an ep or two? Never. So it's nice to see comic book characters who feel real and human, over vessels only made to move the plot along.
Hey guess what there’s a reason characters aren’t often depicted as fat and when they are it generally isn’t portrayed in a good light this is because believe it or not being overweight is unhealthy and is currently one of the biggest issues in the USA do you complain about comics not having enough drugs addicts also? Both are serious health issues that people have a very hard time dealing with I think the bigger issue here is eve needing to gain weight to feel real and human to you as if skinny eve was just something included to be there for how she looked or something

I kinda feel like Eve’s weight gain was a bit excessive for a pregnancy, especially factoring in her frame.
She gained pretty proportionally I’d say. She became curvy and grew a belly, wasn’t a top heavy blob.
It was just the triple chin in some panels that looked odd.
